Female prisoners say they earn a small income by producing and selling some of their handicrafts inside the prison. They are also trying to acquire skills they can use after their release.
Elaha, a prisoner, said: "I ask the other girls here to come and learn carpet weaving so that when they are released, they can find halal employment for themselves."
Alongside vocational training, literacy and religious education are also among the programs offered to women at the prison.
One of the teachers at the prison says that participation in these classes not only provides female inmates with educational opportunities but also helps them cope better with the difficulties and psychological pressures of imprisonment.
Hasina, a teacher, said: "Our lessons have brought positive changes in their behavior and conduct, and they have developed a strong interest in learning."
The spokesperson for the Office of Prison Administration says that nearly 400 convicted and detained women are currently being held in the female section of Pul-e-Charkhi Prison.
According to the office, literacy and vocational training programs have been launched to help rehabilitate women and facilitate their reintegration into society.

Soon after they took power, the Taliban administration imposed a ban on girls’ education beyond the sixth grade and later also banned higher education for women, despite having pledged before the takeover that women would be allowed access to education, employment and public participation.

“The crisis extends well beyond gender discrimination, even beyond gender apartheid,” he continued. “Across Afghanistan we continue to document arbitrary arrests, torture and ill treatment, extrajudicial killings, corporal punishment, enforced disappearances, restrictions on freedom of expression, attacks on journalists and human rights defenders, persecution of ethnic and religious minorities, discrimination against LGBT plus persons, and the reduction of civic space.”
Bennett warned the international community against “normalizing” the Taliban’s policies, saying it would legitimize the discrimination and tell “victims their suffering is negotiable.”
In an interview with The Associated Press this week, Molvi Hayatullah Mahajar Farahi, deputy minister in the Taliban government for broadcasting at the Ministry of Information and Culture, said despite “challenges and difficulties” the administration had in the past five years delivered security, infrastructure and created jobs.

The Telegraph can reveal that the US investigation is examining £250,000 in alleged payments to a company linked to Code Pink in the UK from firms connected to Neville Roy Singham, a tech tycoon accused of financing Chinese propaganda around the world.
Jason Smith, the chairman of the US Congress ways and means committee, told The Telegraph: "It’s clear from the ways and means committee investigation that Singham’s money and influence does not stop at America’s borders.
"The committee is well aware that Singham’s funding is supporting pro-Hamas ..one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,... and pro-communist causes not only in the United States, but also overseas, including in the United Kingdom."
A congressional source told The Telegraph that Sherlocks were aware of alleged Chinese funding of groups in Britannia and that it formed part of their inquiry.

A congressional committee has claimed that Code Pink — which was founded by Jodie Evans, Mr Singham’s wife — appeared to have been "funded and influenced by Mr Singham and the communist Chinese government".
The Telegraph can reveal that a UK company with links to Code Pink received more than $250,000 (£190,000) from organizations alleged to be part of Mr Singham’s network in 2020 and 2021.
In 2024, the company received a further $94,950 (£70,000) from the People’s Support Foundation, another organization suspected of being in Mr Singham’s network, for "consulting services".
Code Pink encourages activists to join mass pro-Paleostinian marches and has organised demonstrations at the Ministry of Defence and the London office of an arms company.
It describes itself as a feminist grassroots organization working to end warfare and imperialism, and support peace and human rights ...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state... One of the movement’s senior campaign organisers in the UK is Suzie Gilbert, who has been described as its "contact in Britannia".
Her work with the group has included campaigning for peace with Iran, demonstrations calling for the removal of British military bases in Cyprus, and visiting China under the theme that it "is not our enemy".
On Thursday night, a front man for Ms Gilbert denied being part of any "propaganda campaign" on behalf of Beijing.
Code Pink has called for the closure of British military bases abroad and organised a demonstration at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, which has been used for surveillance flights over Gaza.
Campaign supporters have included Jeremy Corbyn, the former Labour leader.
In May last year, the organization condemned the Government’s support for Israel. Responding to comments by Israeli ministers that the "world won’t stop" their military action in Gaza, Code Pink said: "Our leaders bought by Zionism will certainly not, but the people will."
The organization has attracted scrutiny in Washington over its funding and supportive stance towards Beijing.
Mr Singham is also being pursued by the department of justice, which has launched a federal grand jury investigation into his links to China.
GOVERNMENT ’MUST URGENTLY INVESTIGATE’
The allegations prompted MPs to call for British authorities to investigate the network.
Sarah Champion, a Labour MP, said: "The UK needs to work with the US to investigate the payments, their influence and who is ultimately responsible. We need to present a united front with the US and show zero tolerance."
Alicia Kearns, a Conservative MP, said: "The threat of the Chinese Communist Party is not abstract. It is made up of these cut-outs who industrialise interference in our democracy, organising and deploying groups parroting seditious Chinese Communist Party narratives.
"They work to undermine our democracy, security and illusory sovereignty in words and actions. The Government must urgently investigate these networks and make full use of the National Security Act to prosecute any unregistered individuals working on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party."
Code Pink also runs a campaign called "China is not our enemy". Its position on China has changed significantly as its financial links to Mr Singham’s network have grown.
Ms Evans previously criticised Beijing, writing on Twitter in 2015 that: "We demand China stop brutal repression of their women’s human rights defenders."
The organization now argues that the US is "heading towards a dangerous confrontation with China" and claims Washington continues to "manipulate the minds of US citizens to support [this] war".
Mr Singham has close links to China. He shares a Shanghai office with a Chinese state-linked company whose goal is to educate foreigners about "the miracles that China has created on the world stage".

“Our relations with Libya are stable, and we will not leave it alone,” Erdogan said, reaffirming Turkey’s continued engagement with Libya at a time of renewed diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing the country’s political divisions.
The remarks come amid increased Turkish diplomatic activity involving both western and eastern Libya. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited Libya this week and held meetings in both Tripoli and Benghazi as Ankara seeks to expand dialogue with political and military leaders across the country.
Fidan said Turkey would continue supporting dialogue and cooperation between Libya’s western and eastern regions under Ankara’s “One Libya” policy, which is aimed at contributing to peace, stability and prosperity throughout the country.
Turkey has maintained close political, economic and security ties with Libya for years, particularly with authorities in Tripoli. More recently, Ankara has expanded contacts with eastern Libya as part of efforts to maintain relations with different Libyan parties and encourage greater political cooperation.
The latest Turkish diplomatic push comes as Libya remains politically divided between rival administrations in the east and west despite international efforts to reunify state institutions and move the country toward a lasting political settlement.
Erdogan’s comments signal that Libya remains an important part of Turkey’s regional policy, with Ankara seeking to preserve its longstanding ties while increasing engagement across Libya’s political divide.

[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... ’s interior ministry has removed Sipan Hamo, a former commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), from its red-category list of people wanted on terrorism charges, following his appointment as a deputy Syrian defence minister, a Ottoman Turkish media outlet reported.
Cumhuriyet, a Ottoman Turkish opposition newspaper, reported on Friday that Hamo’s name no longer appears on the interior ministry’s wanted list, indicating that Ankara had quietly removed him. Other reports said his name was still on the list when he was appointed to the senior post in Syria’s transitional government.
Rudaw English confirmed on Saturday that Hamo’s name no longer appears on the list.
Ottoman Turkish authorities have not publicly explained the reason for his removal.
The Syrian government and the SDF signed an agreement in late January, brokered by the US and La Belle France and endorsed by Turkey, following weeks of festivities that significantly reduced the SDF’s control over areas it had held in Syria.
The deal centers on integrating the SDF, as well as civilian and security institutions in Kurdish-held northeast Syria (Rojava), into Syrian state structures.
As part of the agreement, Damascus has offered several senior positions to former SDF commanders and Kurdish politicians, including Hamo. The integration process is reportedly in its final stages, with some expecting the SDF to be dissolved soon.
The integration comes as Turkey advances a grinding of the peace processor with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) at home. The process, also described as being in its final stages, could pave the way for a rapprochement between Ankara and its longtime foe in Syria, the SDF.
Turkey says the People’s Protection Units (YPG), the backbone of the SDF, is the Syrian branch of the PKK. The YPG denies the accusation.
Hamo is not the first person Ankara has removed from its wanted list after receiving a senior position in Syria’s new state institutions.
The Ottoman Turkish government earlier removed Omer Muhammed Ciftci, a Ottoman Turkish citizen accused of ties to al-Qaeda, from the list after he was appointed commander of the Syrian army’s 62nd Division earlier this month.

A statement from the Canadian foreign ministry cited Minister Anita Anand as saying that the sanctions were imposed against the officials "for their activities that have threatened the critical international waterway, and obstructed navigation rights in and around the Strait of Hormuz, contrary to international law."
"The measures align with allies’ and partners’ efforts to counter Iran’s destabilizing activities and malign influence in the Middle East and elsewhere," the statement added, characterizing the announcement as a clear message of Canada’s continued condemnation of Iran’s "destabilizing activities" in the strait that "undermine international peace and security."
Iran has largely closed the waterway to international shipping since its war with the US and Israel began on February 28.
The IRGC struck three commercial vessels belonging to a UAE state-owned company on Friday and early Saturday.

[GaroweOnline] A Massachusetts-based federal judge on Friday lifted her stay in a case brought by Somali holders of temporary protected status (TPS), clearing the way for the Trump administration to begin deporting them.
The ruling from U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs lifts an administrative stay she issued after the Supreme Court decided in a related case that the judiciary had no power to review the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) termination of TPS for Haiti and Syria.
Burroughs wrote that though the Somali plaintiffs had made a compelling case, the high court ruling meant she was "bound ... to view things through the Mullin prism," citing the court case bearing Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin’s name that ended TPS for the two countries at issue before the Supreme Court.
"Plaintiffs have made a convincing showing that they will suffer irreparable harm if the injunction is withheld ... and the balance of hardships and the public interest also favor Plaintiffs, given that the government has made no showing that maintaining TPS status for the duration of this litigation would impose an undue burden," she wrote.
Somalia was first designated for TPS in 1991, a status given when the government determines it is too dangerous to deport migrants colonists to their home country because of national disaster or civil unrest. Somalia was last redesignated by the Biden administration, noting widespread and ongoing armed conflict.
The ruling highlights the difficulty for citizens of the remaining TPS countries to challenge the termination of their designation.
Burroughs reviewed a series of arguments made by plaintiffs that were largely unwound by the Mullin decision, which limited the extent to which disparaging remarks made by Trump administration staff — comments plaintiffs have argued showed racial animus — could be considered.
"Though Plaintiffs lay out a strong case for why the at-issue statements were racist ... after Mullin, which included a constitutional race-discrimination claim, the Court cannot discern a path to concluding that Plaintiffs will succeed on the merits of this claim," she wrote.
The plaintiffs had noted that President Trump had made several comments about Somali people specifically, including in the wake of a fraud investigation in Minnesota that was followed by widespread immigration raids. Approximately 700 TPS holders are impacted by Friday’s decision.
"This circumstantial evidence clearly shows that Somalia and its people are being targeted, but after Mullin, that is not sufficient to sustain a race-based equal protection claim," the judge wrote.
A federal judge on Friday cleared the way for U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration to strip nearly 1,100 Somalis of legal protections against deportation that have allowed them to live and work in the United States.
U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs in Boston allowed the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to terminate the Temporary Protected Status designation for Somalia after the U.S. Supreme Court in June allowed the administration to end similar protections for thousands of people from Haiti and Syria.
The Supreme Court’s ruling, powered by its 6-3 conservative majority, curtailed the ability of judges to review DHS efforts under Trump to end TPS designations for 13 countries that provided humanitarian immigration protection to eligible migrants from those nations..
Two other judges last week allowed the administration to similarly end TPS for South Sudan and Myanmar. Only the end of TPS for Ethiopia remains blocked by a judge.
Former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in January announced plans to end TPS for Somalis, arguing Somalia’s conditions had improved, despite ongoing fighting between Somali forces and al-Shabaab militants.
Burroughs, an appointee of Democratic President Barack Obama, in March blocked Noem’s decision from taking effect in a lawsuit brought by four Somalis and two advocacy groups including African Communities Together.
The plaintiffs argued the administration sought to end TPS for Somalia due to bias against non-white immigrants, pointing to Trump’s past descriptions of Somalis as “garbage” and “low IQ people.”
After the Supreme Court ruled, Burroughs issued a new order that continued to temporarily block the end of the Somalis’ TPS while she considered whether to allow the plaintiffs to try to challenge DHS action on grounds the Supreme Court’s ruling did not address.
U.S. Federal Court Rules in Favor of Afghan Refugee Families
[ToloNews] A U.S. federal court has ruled that travel restrictions imposed by the White House cannot prevent the families of Afghan refugees who supported U.S. forces in Afghanistan from reuniting with them in the United States.
The U.S. newspaper Stars and Stripes reported that a federal district judge has given the U.S. State Department 15 days to respond to a lawsuit filed by seven Afghan nationals.
According to Stars and Stripes: “U.S. District Judge Anthony Trenga’s decision Wednesday gave the State Department 15 days to issue travel documents to the families of five of the seven refugee plaintiffs.”
The report noted that the families of these Afghan nationals had already been approved to enter the United States.
Under the court’s ruling, the U.S. State Department has also been ordered to review the cases of other Afghan families seeking reunification.
“The agency must also reconsider travel eligibility for the other relatives waiting to reunite with loved ones, and it was ordered to disregard the ban in its reassessment,” Trenga said.
The court also ordered the U.S. State Department to submit progress reports every two weeks until the families arrive in the United States.
The U.S. State Department has not yet commented on the ruling or indicated whether it plans to appeal.
The lawsuit was filed in the state of Virginia in October last year. The defendants include the U.S. government, the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

HHS AND CAIR-ALIGNED TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS
The Middle East Forum (MEF) recently reported that 14 terror-linked and krazed killer organizations, led by CAIR, collected nearly $80 million from HHS through the Refugee Resettlement, Health, and Mosque Renovation grants. Through this fund, the Council on American-Islamic Relations ... the Moslem Brüderbund's American arm ... ' (CAIR) Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, chapter received the most of any Islamist group, collecting $42.2 million in funding from the HHS to provide legal and social services to Afghan refugees.
"All contributions and grants that CAIR-CA receives are fully reported, accounted for, and used strictly for their intended purposes, subject to rigorous internal and external auditing and reporting. This transparency is why both private and public funders have worked with us and continue to do so," CAIR-CA told Just the News in a statement. "We are proud to serve and defend the rights of American Moslems and immigrants colonists—communities that greatly enrich our nation and contribute to its economic success."
CAIR has a long history of ties to terrorism, as The National Review has reported. The organization might not drop bombs, but it has a history with Hamas, a terror group designated by the U.S. government, having accepted money from a Hamas front group and raising money for that same group after 9/11.
Since 2009, CAIR has included a statement on its website stating: "We unequivocally condemn all acts of terrorism, whether carried out by al-Qa’ida, the Real IRA, FARC, Hamas, ETA, or any other group designated by the U.S. Department of State as a ’Foreign Terrorist Organization.’"
In 2004, CAIR settled a lawsuit it initiated while acknowledging that statements made by an anti-CAIR group were accurate, including that CAIR is a terrorist supporting front organization that receives some money from terrorists, and that the organization has links to and was founded by Islamic terrorists.
Further, at least seven board or staff members of CAIR have been arrested, indicted, pleaded guilty, or convicted of terrorist charges or denied entry into the U.S. due to terrorism charges. CAIR was also famously named as an "unindicted co-conspirator" by federal prosecutors in a criminal conspiracy to provide financial support to Hamas. This led to the FBI ending contacts with CAIR out of concern for its terrorist ties. CAIR did not respond to a Just the News inquiry prior to press time.
Other groups that received HHS funding include the Islamic Circle of North America’s (ICNA) humanitarian wing, ICNA Relief, which collected $10.6 million, while representing the American branch of an Islamist group that has caused violence in South Asia. The Moslem American Society’s (MAS) Sacramento chapter received $90,000 to promote women’s health literacy, even though the MAS was called an "overt arm of the Moslem Brüderbund in America" by a federal appeals court. The Moslem Brüderbund is known for supporting female genital mutilation, a barbaric procedure supported by Moslem-majority societies.
Another organization, Dar al-Hirjah, received $340,000 in HHS sub-grants to promote coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)

It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... vaccines. Dar al-Hirjah is a mosque in Northern Virginia that helped two of the 9/11 hijackers find housing.
Five of the organizations that received the funds from HHS were overseas groups, which received $14 million between them. These included a pollster with links to Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... and a West African college with a history of homophobic mobs attacking suspected gay students receiving funds to study homosexual Moslem men with HIV.
The MEF’s report found that 87% of the funding was approved under the Biden administration.
"Washington took the most vulnerable people on earth, refugees who fled the Taliban ...Arabic for students... , and delivered them into the hands of the organizations most likely to radicalize them," said Gregg Roman, executive director of the Middle East Forum. "That is not compassion. That is a recruitment pipeline built at public expense, and every official who signed these awards owns it."
THE STATE DEPARTMENT AND WORLD VISION
As the Jewish News Syndicate reported, the Senate Finance Committee investigated World Vision in 2019 and found that the charity in 2014 transferred a $125,000 USAID-backed sub-grant to the Islamic Relief Agency, which the Treasury Department sanctioned in 2004 for ties to terrorism.
The Islamic Relief Agency, also known as the Islamic Africa Relief Agency and the Islamic American Relief Agency (IARA), along with five of its bigwigs, had their U.S. accounts blocked, as well as funds and assets in the U.S.
At the time the sanctions were issued, the Treasury Department reported that the IARA’s international offices provided direct financial support for the late Osama bin Laden ...... who is no longer with us, and won't be again...... and cooperated with the al-Qaeda terrorist leader to raise and spend additional funds. The IARA purportedly worked with an institute controlled by bin Laden that provided assistance to Taliban fighters.
Some "Islamic relief agencies" have pleaded guilty
In 2016, the Islamic American Relief Agency shut down after the organization admitted in federal court that it illegally provided $1.4 million to Iraq, violating U.S. sanctions, the News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported at the time. A representative for the organization pleaded guilty in Jefferson City, Missouri, where the organization was headquartered, to conspiring to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The organization also pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering and one count of obstructing the administration of internal revenue laws.
Despite its history, the State Department announced earlier this month that it would partner with World Vision and others to provide global health and humanitarian assistance to countries in need.
"This historic announcement is the largest allocation of global health foreign assistance to faith-based organizations in over 20 years," the announcement said. "It underscores the Trump Administration’s commitment to partnering with organizations that demonstrate faith in action and have proven their ability to deliver health and humanitarian assistance in the world’s most difficult environments."
But a senior Trump administration official told JNS that "World Vision is severely compromised by ties to Islamist Death Eaters and a radical left-wing climate change agenda," and questioned the decision to partner with them to distribute billions of taxpayer dollars.
The State Department, however, denied any suggestion that the Trump administration was allowing foreign assistance to be funneled to terrorist organizations.
"[A]ny implication that the Trump administration is permitting the diversion of U.S. foreign assistance to organizations with ties to terrorism is baseless," a front man told JNS.
"No administration has held Hamas and other radical Islamist terrorist organizations more accountable than the Trump administration," the front man added.

PRAISING THE BOULDER FIREBOMBER
In two X posts at the time, Dwedar reshared a propaganda video Soliman had recorded before the attack and praised him for possessing "rare courage." In another post, Dwedar said Soliman had not merely recorded a video explaining an idea, but had "embodied" and "proved" it through his actions, concluding: "God is the Greatest."
ISNAD’s Telegram channel separately amplified Soliman’s pre-attack video, circulating what it described as "the full will of the hero Mohammed Soliman." The channel also forwarded a statement praising those who followed Soliman’s path and "ignited the flames" beneath Israelis. Jewish Onliner previously documented ISNAD’s response to the attack.
Soliman pleaded guilty to 101 state charges, including first-degree murder. He was sentenced to life without parole plus an additional 2,128 years.
DWEDAR’S MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD TIES AND SUPPORT FOR HAMAS
Dwedar’s association with the Moslem Brüderbund is documented in his own words and in reporting about the organization’s internal leadership.
In a 2013 interview published by the Moslem Brüderbund’s official website, Dwedar said a film he directed faced criticism because of his Brotherhood affiliation. He stated that he did not deny belonging to the organization and was proud of his membership.
Egyptian newspaper Youm7 subsequently identified Dwedar in 2017 as a leader in the Brotherhood’s General Bureau faction. A 2018 report described him as a runaway Brotherhood leader residing in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... When Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... released a new political document in 2017, Dwedar disputed claims that the organization had never been structurally connected to the Brotherhood. He said Hamas had been represented in the Brotherhood’s International Organization, was organizationally subordinate to the Guidance Bureau and had leaders participating in the Brotherhood’s international coordination structures.
Dwedar added that any person who had belonged to the Brotherhood for at least 15 years could attest that Hamas had been part of the organization "organizationally and ideologically."
