Sources said more arrests are possible, and authorities are preparing additional search warrants.
The suspects were plotting to gather in Fredericksburg, Va., and from there travel to DC to launch the explosive drone attack — and then attempt to storm the gates of the executive mansion, according to sources.
Sources said it is not yet clear how prepared the plotters were to actually carry out the attack, noting that one suspect was allegedly involved in the plans while in a mental health facility.

[Dawn] A passerby was killed, and three police personnel were maimed when person or persons unknown armed with heavy and automatic weapons attacked a police checkpost in the Mirbagh area of Central Kurram here on Sunday.
According to police sources, the attackers targeted the post with small and heavy arms, killing a passerby on the spot and injuring three police personnel.
Police immediately launched an operation to trace the attackers.
The sources said soon after the attack, security forces also used artillery to strike suspected murderous Moslem hideouts.
Following announcements from local mosques, citizens carried white flags and began efforts to broker a ceasefire.

According to separate notifications issued by the deputy commissioners of both districts, restrictions have been enforced on public movement in designated areas, while several key roads have been temporarily closed to ensure the smooth movement of security personnel and logistical convoys.
Lower South Waziristan Deputy Commissioner Musarrat Zaman said Section 144 would remain in force from 6am to 6pm on Monday. The restrictions were imposed as a precautionary measure in view of prevailing security concerns in and around Wana and adjoining localities.
