[DM] A father-of-one was mysteriously shot dead at an Alabama shopping center, leaving the normally safe community reeling in the aftermath.
Stephen Justus 'Fro' Morrow, 46, was fatally gunned down at the Walmart shopping center in Sumiton in front of his wife just before 9pm on June 3.
He was then rushed to the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, where he was pronounced dead - but not before telling his wife, 'Kayla, I'm dying and I love you,' Al.com reports.
Police have since arrested 18-year-old Timothy Braden Crawford for Morrow's murder, as his remains are being examined by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville.
He is due to appear in court for a bond hearing on Tuesday.
In the meantime, it remains unclear what led up to the shooting, including whether Morrow and Crawford knew each other or what may have prompted the encounter.
As the community now awaits answers, many took the time to remember Stephen for the loving father he was.
Community members are also raising money for Kayla and Eli.
'Kayla is a devoted mother who has always worked hard to provide a loving home for her son, Eli,' an online fundraiser reads. 'Recently, her world was turned upside down when her husband, Stephen, was tragically shot and passed away.

[DM] The knife-wielding madman accused of slashing five people at random in one of New York City's busiest transit hubs has been identified.
Hector Deleon, 51, has been identified as the alleged homeless man who attacked five people at the notorious Penn Station at around 7pm on Sunday.
The suspect was tackled to the ground in the minutes following the Sunday stabbing spree. Deleon was hospitalized on Monday, and has yet to be charged, according to The New York Post.
According to court records viewed by The Daily Mail, Deleon was incarcerated as recently as May 26 after he spent days behind bars in New Jersey for pending charges.
Deleon was also hit with assault charges in 2025. It is unclear how that case ended.
Two years prior to that, Deleon was found guilty of a 2022 aggravated assault attempt with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a deadly weapon in Essex County.

[FoxNews] A father in Houston, Texas, was killed during a carjacking Saturday afternoon, and a repeat offender on probation has been charged with his murder.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the owner of the stolen car, identified as 56-year-old Louis Erebia, tracked down the vehicle and confronted the person accused of stealing it, London Hogan Sr. Hogan Sr. allegedly shot and killed Erebia, who was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.
Hogan Sr. is also accused of shooting another man who is expected to survive.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office told FOX26 that Erebia's son was putting gas into the Chevy Silverado when Hogan allegedly pulled out a gun and took the pickup truck. Erebia and a friend tracked the pickup truck using GPS, which led them to the area it was being driven.
The car being driven by Erebia was involved in a collision with the stolen Chevy Silverado, which disabled it, deputies said.
According to the sheriff's office, Erebia chased a male and female suspect who got out of the stolen truck. Deputies said that's when Hogan fired multiple shots.
Hogan was charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

I didn't know until recently but our biosphere and these solar events have a relation in that magnetic storm electrons help form molecular isotopes that do not normally form, for example Beryllium-10, which plants use.

I don't think the solar electrons do much isotope formation by themselves. Both they and the solar protons are typically rather low energy. But if you change the atmosphere profile substantially you can get more cosmic ray showers happening lower, and the high energy particles from those do sometimes interact with nuclei.

This hits high-growth stocks like Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron the hardest. AI and semiconductor companies are valued heavily on future earnings. When rates rise, those future profits are worth less in today’s terms. That is why these stocks can reprice very quickly when rate expectations change. Think of it like fixed deposits. If one FD offers 7% safely, a riskier option has to look much more rewarding to justify the risk. That is why rising yields can quickly hurt high-growth stocks, especially tech stocks.
But, even after Monday's crash, KOSPI is still up approximately 75% year-to-date in 2026. That context matters. This is a market that ran very hard. But the mechanics behind today's specific plunge deserve a closer look.
Trigger 3: Iran-Israel Conflict Pushed Oil Higher

I don't see how it's going to work, the 5.56 round doesn't have a lot of space for multiple projectiles and anything that small is unlikely to retain enough velocity to engage drones much past 100 yards. At 100 yards and closer, they would be better off with a semi-auto shotgun, a tight choke and maybe some #1 buckshot
The M203 40mm grenade launcher's muzzle velocity is fairly low and would face similar problems.

Peter Hotez, a molecular biologist and dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Houston’s Baylor College of Medicine, rose to prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic and is known for tangling with Joe Rogan on social media after the podcaster challenged the scientist to debate vaccines with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
But the married, 68-year-old Hotez’s apparently randy side was revealed in 2024, after he served as a key speaker at a May 2024 Northwell Health symposium and reconnected with former graduate school colleague, Annette Lee, she said in court papers.
Lee, 64, accused Hotez of repeatedly propositioning her even though the two had never been that close.
"Following the symposium, Hotez and Lee had drinks ... and Hotez unexpectedly confessed that he had been in love with Lee since graduate school," she said in a Brooklyn Federal Court lawsuit.
Lee, a leading molecular scientist and dean at Northwell Health’s Elmezzi Graduate School of Molecular Medicine, claimed Hotez reached out several times throughout 2024.
"He told me about his repeated marital affairs and joked about how much Cialis he had purchased. I was disturbed by all the women he described and told him that being the high-profile person that he is, he should be more discreet and stay out of the backseat of cars," she alleged in court papers.
"Dr. Hotez told me he would give up all these women for me and I declined and said I did not want to be more than friends and said that I did not want a sexual relationship."
In August 2024, Lee texted Hotez after an "intensely stressful day" and "joked that [she] should be kept away from a firearm," she said in the lawsuit, adding, "It was a joke and having known Lee for this long, Hotez would have known it was a joke."
Instead, Hotez allegedly reported the remark to Lee’s boss, and she was fired weeks later after more than 20 years with Northwell.
The move was retaliation for Lee’s romantic rejections, she claimed in the wrongful termination and discrimination suit against Northwell, which seeks unspecified damages.
Hotez was reviewing the lawsuit, a spokeswoman said.
"He categorically denies Dr. Lee’s characterization of the facts. Otherwise, given the pending litigation, Dr. Hotez will not comment further at this time," Baylor College rep Claire Bassett said.
