[Yahoo] Former Trump administration national security adviser John Bolton has agreed to plead guilty to a single count of retaining classified information under a deal with the Justice Department that could allow him to avoid prison time, a person familiar with the matter said Thursday.
The deal would resolve a criminal case filed in October that charged Bolton with 18 counts of either retaining or disseminating classified information, including diary-like notes from his time in government that officials say he shared with his family members as he was preparing a memoir about his time in office.
Under the agreement, Bolton would also face a $2.25 million fine, said the person, who insisted on anonymity to discuss a deal that had not been made public. Any prison sentence would be capped at five years, but the agreement allows for him to avoid time behind bars, though the punishment will ultimately be up to a judge.
The case against Bolton, filed weeks after prosecutors secured indictments against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, unfolded against the backdrop of concerns that the Justice Department was using its law enforcement powers to pursue perceived adversaries of President Donald Trump. I didn't know that Campa-Najjar and Sara Jacobs were hooking up. Ewwwwww! She's the granddaughter of Irwin M. Jacobs, the billionaire co-founder and former chairman of the telecommunications company Qualcomm. Irwin once hosted a fund raiser in San Diego for Baraq Obama and the traffic was snarled for hours.

As of late yesterday, Hilton had about 1.4M, Becerra had about 1.3M and Steyer had about 1.0M.
This was with about 60% of the votes in. Also, the mail in votes have actually slightly increased Hilton's lead so far.
In LA as of late yesterday, Bass had about 180k, Pratt had about 160k and Ramen had about 120k. Again, so far Pratt has done as well or better with the mail in vote as with the in person or drop box vote. So far.

[PJ] The Democratic Party's approach to Maine's Senate race has sparked a debate that extends well beyond the state's borders. At the center of the controversy is Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner, whose campaign has been dogged by a series of damaging allegations and personal scandals.
Reports have highlighted Platner's past online activity, including the presence of a tattoo some have characterized as Nazi-related, inflammatory comments on public forums, sexually explicit social media posts and allegations involving inappropriate online communications. More recently, questions have emerged regarding his use of messaging platforms and claims of extramarital sexting.
Yet despite the mounting controversies, Democratic leaders and activists continue to argue that defeating incumbent Sen. Susan Collins remains the overriding priority.
That argument has puzzled many observers, given Collins' reputation as one of the most moderate Republicans in the Senate. Over the years, she has frequently broken with her party on high-profile votes. Collins voted to convict President Donald Trump during his second impeachment trial, opposed efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, voted against major Republican legislation, and joined only a handful of Republicans in supporting the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
The man really revels in his vileness. It will be interesting to see whether Maine voters decide he is the proper representative of their needs and desires.
[WashingtonFreeBeacon] Maine's embattled Democratic Senate candidate, Graham Platner, praised a "cool pic" of Nazi-aligned troops aiming a rifle during World War II, zeroing in on their "German helmets" and weapon, in a now-deleted social media post, the Washington Free Beacon can reveal.
It's not the first time Platner has shown enthusiasm for Nazi iconography. He notoriously had a chest tattoo of an SS "Totenkopf," the skull and crossbones symbol worn by SS officers who manned the Nazi concentration camps.
In April 2019 a Reddit user shared an image of "Swedish Volunteer Battalion in a trench during The Continuation War, 1941."
The image showed soldiers in German helmets during the conflict, pointing a Browning Automatic Rifle at the enemy over a defensive trench. A soldier gesturing to an enormous dog—which appears to be an Alsatian or German shepherd—dominates the foreground.
In a comment from his now-deleted Reddit account P-Hustle, Platner offered this response:
