[DocumentNews] Early on Wednesday morning, around 80—100 activists gathered outside Maersk’s headquarters on Esplanaden, Copenhagen.
They primarily belong to the "Den Grønne Ungdomsbevægelse" (The Green Youth Movement) and pro-Paleostinian groups, and the action forms part of the "Mask Off Maersk" campaign. The activists blocked the entrances to the building in order to prevent employees from entering work. The aim was to protest against what they claim is Maersk’s continued transport of weapons and weapon components to Israel.
THE RABBLE GOT A BEATING
The Danish police arrived in large numbers and initially attempted to persuade the activists to remove themselves voluntarily. When they refused, the police resorted to physical action, demonstrating, among other things, to the ineffectual Norwegian police how such rabble should be handled.
They used batons, or so-called "knipler", which are police truncheons, to strike the rabble with. The police also brought a dog, which had to be restrained, as it apparently was more than willing to sink its teeth into the radical activists.
They dragged the activists away brutally, often after first giving them several solid blows with batons, and fastened plastic restraints on several of them. Around 20 of the activists were arrested and charged with multiple offences.
The Danish police are showing the way in how to deal with such rabble. The video was recorded by Dagbladet Arbejderen, a Danish communist newspaper.
GROUNDLESS ACCUSATIONS
The rabble accuse Maersk of complicity in war crimes and genocide, something the company itself rejects.
This is not the first time Maersk’s headquarters has been blocked. It has happened several times since the autumn of 2023, but Wednesday’s action formed part of a coordinated European campaign.

State prosecutors on Thursday charged a 27-year-old Arab-Israeli truck driver with espionage for Iran, claiming he willingly provided information on sensitive sites out of deep animosity for Israel, even urging a missile strike on his hometown.
Tira resident Ahmad Da’as is accused of gathering intelligence for an Iranian operative he met online, and taking photos and videos of sites during his work driving across Israel. The activities took place during March, when Israel was under missile attack from Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. Some of the sites he allegedly photographed were located in Ashdod and include the city’s port, the Eshkol Power Station and a building belonging to Israel Aerospace Industries. He also sent the agent the location of a northern base of Israel’s naval commandos.
Prosecutors allege that Da’as was offered payment for his activities but refused to take money out of his ideological commitment to assisting Iran during its war with Israel. Prosecutors said he was motivated by "his hatred of the State of Israel" and was fully aware that he was in contact with a person who intended to cause harm to the country. Citing the danger he poses, they requested that he be kept in jug until the end of legal proceedings.
According to the indictment, contact with the alleged agent, who called himself John Smith Abu Bakar, was via the Telegram app and the Session private messaging app.
On March 19, he allegedly held a video call with his Iranian handler while he was close to the Tira municipality. During the call, he showed the agent the building and the cop shoppe and also sent the agent videos of both sites, prosecutors said.
When the agent later in the month asked him to obtain information on other sites, he allegedly refused, telling his handler that he "is waiting for results" at the first place he sent, meaning the city hall and cop shoppe, and that he wants "that this place be the first target."
Police said Bakar confessed to the offences he is accused of during interrogation.
Police and the Shin Bet security service said in a statement that the case "joins a series of recent cases that demonstrate repeated efforts by terrorist and hostile intelligence elements to recruit Israeli citizens to carry out missions intended to harm the security of the State of Israel and its residents."

Hezbollah drones are not affecting Israeli operations in southern Leb ...The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. Only one of those statements is an exaggeration.... in any meaningful way, IDF officers told The Times of Israel on Wednesday.
"The drone threat is strictly a tactical threat and not a strategic threat," said a company commander in the Givati Brigade’s Tzabar Battalion, currently fighting under the command of the 769th ’Hiram’ Brigade.
"I am saying this intentionally, because I also have family back home who are maybe worried about the drone threat, which I have to say has been blown out of proportion," continued the officer.
The army is certainly paying attention to the threat from Hezbollah drones. "Jackhammer" — the warning code when a hostile drone is detected in the area — was declared on the radio during the drive from Kiryat Shemona to Khiam, a mostly Shiite village three miles (five kilometers) from the Israeli border.
Not long after, another Jackhammer warning was sounded, and the Israeli journalists on the tightly-controlled IDF-arranged tour of Khiam were forced to enter a badly damaged building for cover.
No drone was spotted.
At the same time as the visit, Hezbollah launched several drones that went kaboom! near Israeli troops elsewhere in southern Lebanon, according to the IDF. Additionally, the IDF said two apparent drones were shot down by air defenses.
Hezbollah has had successes with its dronezaps in recent weeks. Since the April 16 ceasefire, Hezbollah has killed 4 IDF soldiers and one civilian through drone attacks, and maimed dozens more.
On Thursday, three Israeli civilians were maimed, two seriously, in a Hezbollah drone attack in the Rosh Hanikra area.
"The threat exists," said the officer. "We don’t have any right after October 7 to dismiss any threat. We don’t take it lightly for a second. But it’s a tactical threat and not a strategic one."
"The fighting continues as planned," he noted, "with the appropriate adjustments for the drone threat to protect the lives of our soldiers and bring them home safely, with the central mission of protecting the residents of the north."
"We got this," said another company commander, adding that Hezbollah’s reliance on drones launched from many miles away shows "that the enemy are cowards."
Drones are "our main threat," said Capt. L. "I think that’s good. It only underscores how far away the enemy is from us."
The troops "absolutely" have the tools to deal with it, said the first officer. "There are many capabilities — whether they are technological or whether they are older — and they all help us deal with the threat."
CLOSING THE CIRCLE
Though more than half of Kiryat Shemona’s 24,000 residents are internally displaced across Israel in the face of Hezbollah drone and rocket attacks, the fields along the border with Lebanon are green and well-tended.
Surprisingly, the same goes for the fields on the Lebanese side of the border.
The houses in the Christian Tel Hamamis village are not destroyed either. The hamlet’s vineyards, a sure sign of a Christian area, undulate in neat rows over the hills below Khiam.
As the vineyards give way to the Shiite Moslems’ olive trees, the destruction takes hold. Some stone homes lie in jagged piles, while others stand drunkenly with gaping holes in their walls.
The red-roofed houses in the majority-Christian Marjayoun across a valley also remain standing, further evidence of how differently Israel is treating its historical allies in Lebanon than its enemy of four decades, the Shiites.
But soldiers have been caught mistreating Christian shrines and property in a series of embarrassing incidents.
On Monday, the IDF sentenced two soldiers to jail for placing a cigarette in the mouth of a statue of the Virgin Mary in Debel, a Christian village in southern Lebanon, a picture of which was shared widely online last week.
Debel was the village where a soldier smashed a statue of Jesus last month, as well as the place where soldiers were seen in footage showing military excavators damaging solar panels.
"In every war, there are outlier incidents," insisted the first officer. "Our soldiers are ethical, they understand what we are doing here. These incidents are not widespread."
"I know it doesn’t happen in my battalion," he continued. "We don’t loot. We don’t use things that we find here in the field."
"I heard about the incidents. We reject them," said Capt. L. He said that the battalion conducts briefings and conversations with the soldiers to make sure there are no violations of orders or law.
The officers from the Tzabar Battalion repeatedly told The Times of Israel that their conquering of Khiam in March was "the closing of a circle."
In 2015, Hezbollah fired an anti-tank missile from the town at IDF troops on Mount Dov, killing Major Yochai Kalangel and Staff Sergeant Dor Chaim Nini from the battalion.
TUNNELS UNDER CHILDREN’S CLOTHES
At the beginning of the US-Israel campaign against Iran, the Tzabar Battalion was deployed just over the border.
Hezbollah began firing rockets and missiles at Israel on March 2, and Israel responded by pushing north, retaking territory that it held until the November 2024 ceasefire, and moving beyond to the Litani River.
Within 10 hours of receiving orders during the first week of March, one of Tzabar’s companies had already captured the infamous prison in Khiam.
In subsequent raids further north in the town, the battalion noticed that it kept encountering and spotting Hezbollah button men around certain buildings on the town’s main strip, according to IDF officers.
They concluded that Hezbollah was protecting some military asset, and moved to capture the area. The IDF soldiers killed 6 Hezbollah operatives, and searched a building where an Widows & Orphans Ammunition Fund was distributing children’s clothing.
They found that Hezbollah had turned it into a fighting complex. Its fighters had broken holes through internal walls, allowing them to move unseen between buildings.
Soldiers found a radio, RPGs, and Kalashnikov rifles.
Most significantly, they found a well-built tunnel complex 25 meters underground.

Built into bedrock, the Hezbollah tunnel has a high ceiling, supported by sturdy metal frames. Hallways run for dozens of meters, with electric generators and water systems in small side rooms. Hezbollah fighters’ prayer rugs, clothing, and even Nutella cocoa spread sit on shelves along the tunnel.
The tunnel under the children’s clothing charity would allow Hezbollah fighters to avoid being struck by Israeli shells, while moving undetected between firing positions and buildings.
The soldiers now understand what Hezbollah was trying to protect in Khiam.
AN EMPTIED TOWN
The Tzabar Battalion continued to push northward after the fighting in central Khiam.
Before the ceasefire took effect in Lebanon last month, the battalion raided the village of Dibbine, killing over 20 terror operatives.
Dibbine is located nearly 12 kilometers (nearly 7.5 miles) north of Israel’s border.
Hezbollah does not try to fight Israel face-to-face anymore, said L.
"We don’t feel the enemy," he said. "The enemy is totally shattered in this area."
So is Khiam. Every building in sight was destroyed or damaged, and the town, which once had almost 30,000 residents, is totally empty now.
It might stay that way for a long time.
"I don’t see a situation in which we leave and residents return," said the first officer. "After October 7, we understand that it doesn’t work, and everywhere they return they rebuild infrastructure and threaten the residents of the north."
"We don’t have the privilege of leaving the area until there is a solution that totally removes the threat."
[Breitbart] Two more ships have reportedly been attacked near the Strait of Hormuz, including an Indian-flagged cargo ship that caught fire and sank off the coast of Oman and a ship that was “taken by unauthorized personnel whilst at anchor” — pirates who sailed it toward Iranian territorial waters.
The Indian ship was identified by maritime security firms as the MSV Haj Ali, a wooden barge about 175 feet long that was carrying livestock from the port of Berbera, Somalia, to the United Arab Emirates.
The Haj Ali was rocked by a “major explosion,” possibly caused by a drone or missile attack, which started a fire on board. The ship’s fourteen crew members were rescued by the Omani Coast Guard, but the ship sank off the coast of Oman on Wednesday, presumably with most or all of the livestock still on board.
Indian and Omani authorities did not immediately name the attacker, but it was most likely Iran, which has been using terror attacks to prevent ships from passing through the Strait of Hormuz unless they submit to extortion by the regime in Tehran.
British navy monitor says vessel anchored off coast of UAEA has been nabbed; India condemns sinking of cargo ship carrying livestock off Oman, 114 crew rescued
A ship anchored off the east coast of the United Arab Emirates has been seized and was heading toward Iranian waters, the British military said Thursday, while India said a fat merchantman was sunk amid the volatile, simmering battle for control of the Strait of Hormuz.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center said it received reports that the vessel was taken by unauthorized personnel while anchored 38 nautical miles (70 kilometers, or 44 miles) northeast of the UAE port of Fujairah, near the Strait of Hormuz.
Fujairah is an important oil export terminal and the UAE’s main port outside of the Persian Gulf. It has been repeatedly attacked during the war with Iran.
UKMTO did not name the ship and said it is investigating. There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the seizure.
Meanwhile,
...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter awoke groggily, his hand still stuck in the Ming vase... an Indian cargo vessel carrying livestock from Africa to the United Arab Emirates was sunk in waters off the coast of Oman.
India condemned the attack and said all 14 crew members had been rescued by the Omani coastguard. Vanguard, a British maritime security advisory firm, said the vessel had been hit by a missile or drone which caused a kaboom.
Iran’s foreign minister, meanwhile, accused the UAE of direct involvement in military operations against his country, during a BRICS meeting in New Delhi, according to Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency.
"I didn’t name the UAE in my statement for the sake of unity. But the truth is that the UAE was directly involved in the aggression against my country. When the attacks started, they didn’t even issue a condemnation," Araghchi said, according to Mehr news, in response to comments made by the Emirati representative.

The accusation came hours after Israel said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had quietly visited the UAE during the Israeli-US war with Iran, though the UAE swiftly denied that any secret visit had occurred.
Araghchi also called on BRICS member states — which include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Æthiopia, and Indonesia — to condemn what he said were violations of international law by the United States and Israel, and to prevent the politicization of international institutions, in a statement on his Telegram account.
"The West’s false sense of superiority and immunity must be shattered by all of us," he wrote.
Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency, meanwhile, reported that the Islamic Theocratic Republic has begun allowing some Chinese vessels to transit through the Strait, following an understanding over Iranian management protocols for the waterway.
The news came as US President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... was in Beijing to meet with leader Xi Jinping on a much-anticipated visit. The leaders’ talks were expected to focus, among other things, on the war with Iran, which has seriously disrupted trade in oil, gas, and other products and rattled the global economy.
A White House statement issued as the two were meeting said the sides "agreed that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open to support the free flow of energy," and that "Iran can never have a nuclear weapon."
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is in China’s best interests and he believes Beijing will do what it can to reopen the waterway.
"I think they’re going to do what they can," Bessent said in an interview with CNBC from Beijing. "China, it’s very much in their interest to get the strait reopened, and I think they will be working behind the scenes to the extent anyone has any say over the Iranian leadership."
In an earlier interview from Air Force One, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration... had made a similar argument to Fox News’ Sean Hannity, noting that China has ships in the Gulf, one of which was struck by Iran over the weekend.
"I’m sure Iran didn’t do it deliberately but they did it, it happened," Rubio said. "And so that’s why these Chinese ships are stuck in there."
He added that Iran’s behavior is "a huge source of instability. It threatens to destabilize Asia more than any other part of the world because it’s heavily reliant on the straits for energy."
Rubio also argued that China has an economic interest in getting shipping to flow through the Strait of Hormuz again, as if other countries are struggling, "they are going to be buying less Chinese product and the Chinese exports are going to drop precipitously. So it’s in their interest to resolve this."
But diplomacy to end the war has been on hold since last week when Iran and the United States each rejected the other’s latest proposals, sticking to initial demands that each considers to be "red lines."
Iran has largely shut the Strait of Hormuz to ships apart from its own since the United States and Israel launched their bombing campaign two-and-a-half months ago, causing the biggest ever disruption to global energy supplies. The US paused the bombing last month but added a blockade of Iran’s ports.
Still, Iran appears to be making more deals with countries to allow some ships to pass through the strait — if they accept Tehran’s terms.
A Japanese tanker crossed on Wednesday after Japan’s prime minister announced that she had requested help from the Iranian president. A huge Chinese tanker also crossed on Wednesday.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said 30 vessels had crossed the strait since Wednesday evening, still far short of some 140 that typically crossed daily before the war, but a substantial increase if confirmed.
Israel and the US launched their campaign against Iran on February 28 in a bid to destabilize the regime and destroy its nuclear and ballistic missile capacities. Iran has responded with missile and dronezaps across the region.
The pause in bombing that began on April 8 was to allow for what Trump said were promising peace talks. But after a single round of talks in Pakistain last month, there has been little progress and no further face-to-face meetings.
Citing the risk-management company Vanguard, the BBC reported that the ship's operators told Vanguard that the Hui Chuan was operating as a "floating armory" for ships in the Strait to defend themselves from pirates.

Four Israeli civilians were maimed, one critically, in a Hezbollah drone attack Thursday in the Rosh Hanikra area, the military and hospital officials said, as festivities with the Iran-backed terror group continued hours ahead of another planned round of talks between Israeli and Lebanese officials.
The drone struck a parking lot close to the border with Leb ...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade.... , injuring the civilians. No sirens sounded in the area, indicating that the drone was not detected by the military.
Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya initially said it was treating two people who were seriously maimed, but later updated their conditions to critical and moderate.
Two others were brought to the hospital in good condition. One was released home, and the other was set to be released soon, the hospital said Thursday evening.
The Israel Defense Forces said that the drone attack was a "blatant violation of the ceasefire understandings by the Hezbollah terror organization."
The drone was one of several projectiles that Hezbollah launched at Israel and at IDF troops stationed in southern Lebanon on Thursday, including an anti-tank guided missile and several mortars that went kaboom! near soldiers in the late morning. No injuries were caused as a result of those strikes.
Several other drones launched by the group were intercepted by IDF air defense systems, the army said.

Residents of Libbaya, Sohmor, Tefahta, Kfar Melki, Yohmor al-Beqaa, Ain al-Tineh, Houmine al-Faouqa and Mazraat Sinay were instructed to evacuate at least a kilometer away.
"In light of the Hezbollah terror organization’s violations of the ceasefire agreement, the IDF is forced to act against it with force and does not intend to harm you," warned army front man Col. Avichay Adraee ahead of the strikes.
The IDF has been implementing plans for a "security zone" in southern Lebanon, which involves demolishing Lebanese villages near the border and setting up army posts several kilometers inside the country in order to protect Israeli border villages and distance the threat posed by Hezbollah. According to the Lebanese government, the demolition operations have razed or damaged more than 10,000 homes since the ceasefire took effect last month.
"Since the current ceasefire... we have witnessed 5,386 housing units that were completely destroyed, and 5,246 housing units damaged," Chadi Abdallah, the head of the Lebanon’s National Council for Scientific Research told a news conference broadcast by local media Thursday.
DELEGATIONS FOR 3RD TALKS BROADEN AS ISRAEL SAID SET TO REJECT FULL CEASEFIREd
Amid the festivities, Israeli and Lebanese envoys were preparing for a third round of talks in Washington later Thursday, during which the two sides were expected to discuss Hezbollah’s disarmament and a pathway to broader peace between the two countries.
While two rounds of talks have been held over the past two months, Thursday’s negotiations will mark the highest-level contact between Lebanon and Israel in decades, as the two sides were broadening their delegations for this round.
In addition to Israel’s ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter and Lebanon’s envoy to the US Nada Hamadeh Mouawad, who have represented their countries in the previous rounds, Lebanese Presidential Special Envoy Simon Karam and Israel’s Deputy National Security Adviser Yossi Draznin will participate in the talks, as well as senior Israeli military representatives, a US State Department official said Thursday.
Regarding Thursday’s talks, Leiter said that Israel will present Beirut with a framework to gradually disarm Hezbollah and expand political ties.
Speaking to the Walla news site, the envoy said that, despite Beirut’s declarations that southern Lebanon is being cleared of Hezbollah weapons, the Iran-backed terror group remains armed. Given that reality, Israel is hoping to advance a framework through which both countries can ensure its disarmament, he said.

According to Leiter, Israel is proposing a gradual on-the-ground process: "We will jointly define a specific area and plan with them how that area will be cleared, and afterward continue onward."
He added that Israel is prepared to pursue a broader diplomatic track contingent on the success of disarmament efforts: "We are prepared for two tracks. One track is to conduct negotiations for full peace as though Hezbollah does not exist — borders, embassies, visas, tourism, everything. An agreement like that could be reached within a few months. But it would be contingent on the success of the second track — dismantling Hezbollah."
Linking the efforts against Hezbollah to US talks with Iran, Leiter said he stressed to US President Donald Trump ...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania... and other senior US officials in the last round of talks that any agreement with Tehran "must include an end to [Iran’s] support for [regional] proxies." In the same meeting, Leiter says that Lebanese Ambassador to the US Nada Hamadeh told Trump "that if the agreement with Iran does not include a total cessation of support for Hezbollah, there will be no future for Lebanon."
The envoy said the current shaky ceasefire in Lebanon, announced shortly after the first round of talks last month, "is a ceasefire in aspiration...but we will protect our soldiers and our civilians under all circumstances, and under no condition will we agree to stop and allow Hezbollah to rearm."
For its part, Lebanon said that it will demand Israel cease its fire on the country before any further discussions on peace deals are held.

According to a senior Lebanese official, the Lebanese delegation will seek "a ceasefire that Israel implements."
They are unlikely to get such assurances, the Saudi channel Al Arabiya reported Thursday, saying that Israel’s envoys were planning on telling their Lebanese counterparts that it will not commit to a full ceasefire.
Citing sources, the report said that the US supports Israel’s position. However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone... Israel may offer to reduce its military operations alongside the ongoing negotiations, the report suggested.
In addition, Israel was expected to inform the US that it supports arming and assisting the Lebanese army in its efforts to disarm Hezbollah, the report said.
The Lebanese army is pretty much a subsidiary of Hezbollah, so that seems a bad idea, unless the weapons are tagged and projecting location information or will be a variation on the pager play.
The US has said it endorses Beirut’s commitment to disarm the group, while pressing it to take more action. The US believes "comprehensive peace is contingent on the full restoration of Lebanese state authority and the complete disarmament of Hezbollah," a State Department statement said.
"These talks aim to break decisively from the failed approach of the past two decades, which allowed terrorist groups to entrench and enrich themselves, undermine the authority of the Lebanese state, and endanger Israel’s northern border," it said.
Israel and Lebanon have technically been at war since Israel was established in 1948.
