[The American Spectator] uring a press conference held shortly after an armed gunman ran through a security barrier at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner with the obvious intention of shooting President Trump and other members of his administration, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked this question: "Respectfully, why do you think this keeps happening to you?" Trump answered, "The people who do the most, the people who have the biggest impact, they’re the ones that they go after." And by "they," Trump meant Democrats. He has, for obvious reasons, studied presidential assassinations and knows that all but one of the victims were Republicans.
Republican President Abraham Lincoln was, of course, murdered by John Wilkes Booth in April of 1865. Corporate media "fact checkers" and online misinformation sites like Wikipedia have in recent years desperately attempted to revise history to conceal Booth’s political affiliation with the Democrats. FactCheck.org, for example, falsely identified him as a member of the Know-Nothing Party. That claim has been frequently repeated but any competent and politically neutral researcher will quickly discover that the Know-Nothings disappeared from the political landscape when Booth was 15 years old — 10 years before he assassinated Lincoln.
The next president to be assassinated was Republican James Garfield, who was shot by Charles Guiteau in July of 1881. As with John Wilkes Booth, there have been clumsy attempts to conceal Guiteau’s affiliation with the Democrats. Wikipedia, for example, tells us on one line that he identified as a "Liberal Republican," yet contradicts that very claim in the next sentence by pointing out that, in 1872, he voted for Horace Greeley. In that election Greeley ran on the Democrat presidential ticket against incumbent Republican Ulysses S. Grant — a much reviled figure among all Democrats for his success in defeating the Confederacy.
The third president to be assassinated was Republican William McKinley. Is anyone beginning to detect a pattern here? McKinley was shot in September of 1901 by Leon Czolgosz, whose biography has obviously been scrubbed clean of any reference to the Democratic Party. Depending on the source, he is variously described as a socialist, anti-capitalist, anarchist and even a disgruntled McKinley voter. A simple internet search on that incongruous claim produces the following result: "Based on available historical accounts, it is uncertain if Leon Czolgosz voted for William McKinley in 1896, although it is possible."
This is why assassins go after Republican presidents. They are an existential threat to the Democratic Party, and Trump is the tip of the spear.
Other Republican presidents who have survived assassination attempts include Theodore Roosevelt (1912), Gerald Ford (1975), Ronald Reagan (1981), and Donald Trump (2024 twice and once in 2026). Their would-be assassins, we are told by "historians," were all loners with murky motivations. Similarly implausible claims have been made about James Hodgkinson, who opened fire on Republican congressmen who were practicing for a baseball game and very nearly killed Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) in 2017, and now Tyler Robinson who has been charged with killing Charlie Kirk. Here’s a hint on their motives: They all shot Republicans.
As Jesus of Nazareth put it, "You shall know them by their fruits." This brings us to the Democrat claim that violence has no place in politics. Former President Barack Obama echoed this on social media Sunday morning: "Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night’s shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all of us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy." In reality, he normalized violence against Republicans. Obama, you will recall, described GOP voters as bitter people who "cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them."
It is no coincidence that Hillary Clinton described Trump supporters as "deplorable" and Joe Biden called them "garbage." Such rhetoric dehumanizes their political opponents. This is why Kamala Harris openly called Donald Trump a "fascist" during her failed presidential bid. If you convince weak-minded people that a politician is dangerous to "our democracy," it justifies violence against him. Biden told donors five days before Donald Trump was shot in Pennsylvania, "It’s time to put Trump in a bull’s-eye." There is no doubt that such vitriol incites violence, and that is why Democrats and the corporate media deploy it.

Institutions and zealots attack perceived threats whether they are Reagans, Trumps or Kennedys. They might come up with a political strategy to remove Newt Gingrich or Clarence Thomas. Dems never seek to remove guys like John Thune, though. He works for them.

Democrats “increase the temperature” until something excessively violent happens and then insist that Republicans “lower the temperature” by giving Democrats everything they want…lest more violence happens.

[Jpost] Egypt under President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has continued over the past year, and especially in recent days, to play a troubling double game in its relationship with Israel.
Despite the 1979 peace treaty, Cairo has repeatedly acted against Israeli interests. It has taken positions that were perceived in Israel and the Gulf as overly soft toward Iran, sharply opposed Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, and attempted to insert itself into negotiations between Israel and Lebanon. Now, it has staged provocative military exercises near Israel’s border. All Arab strongmen suffer from short memory.
These moves are unfolding as Egypt faces severe economic pressure. The country is struggling with heavy debt, external financing needs, and the economic fallout from regional instability. Attacks from Yemen, the war with Iran, and tensions in the Red Sea have harmed shipping traffic and Suez Canal revenues, dealing Cairo another serious blow.
When the war involving the US, Israel, and Iran erupted, Egypt’s initial response was widely viewed as sympathetic toward Tehran. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed "deep concern" over the military escalation, while al-Sisi avoided condemning Iran by name. That approach angered Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, which expected more from Egypt than a cautious statement. They expected assistance, or at least Egyptian air patrols over the Gulf to help deter Iran. That did not happen.
The Gulf states are disappointed in Egypt, and they have good reason. And they're the ones who feed Egyptians through loans. EGYPT HAS VOICED CONCERN OVER THE DIRECT NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN LEBANON AND ISRAEL
Let us return to Egypt’s relationship with Israel. A few days ago, al-Sisi called Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and proposed that Lebanon hold indirect negotiations with Israel under Egyptian mediation in Sharm el-Sheikh rather than under US auspices. Egypt has voiced concern over the direct negotiations taking place between Lebanon and Israel.
Egypt was the first Arab country to normalize relations with Israel. Cairo seems to believe that this gives it ownership over Israel’s peace process, or over anyone else seeking peace with Israel. Fortunately, Aoun rejected the proposal.
In December 2025, when Israel officially recognized Somaliland as a sovereign state, becoming the first country in the world to do so, Cairo reacted harshly. Egypt’s Foreign Ministry called the move a flagrant violation of international law and an infringement on Somalia’s sovereignty. Al-Sisi coordinated with Turkey, Djibouti, and Somalia, and helped lead a joint statement by Arab and Islamic countries against the recognition.
...The most provocative move is taking place now. The Egyptian military has begun large-scale live-fire exercises very close to the Israeli border, reportedly around 100 meters from the fence. The drills were technically approved by the IDF, but they have sparked anger among residents of the Gaza border area and southern Israel.
The exercises include live fire across wide areas, and residents have reported serious security concerns. Local security officials warned that such activity could create dangerous norms. Some residents even compared the situation to warning signs that preceded the October 7 massacre.
These exercises come amid an accelerated Egyptian military buildup in Sinai, including the deployment of large forces, tanks, and air defense systems. [NY Post] It is difficult to determine whether the bizarro worldview of the current Democrat-media nexus can simply be attributed to its generic Trump Derangement Syndrome — but the crazy world of the left increasingly bears scant resemblance to reality.
In this alternate universe, Eric Swalwell was a liberal icon and invaluable asset for years, though admittedly a bit randy and occasionally a serial sexual predator.
Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner was, at last, the left’s “real thing,” the white working-class liberal stiff who could win back the hoi polloi — although he can’t get his story straight on whether his Nazi tattoo was an accident or proof that he was brainwashed by the toxic US military.
The left has created another fantasy world out of the current Iran war.
When President Trump warned on a Monday that the Iranian regime might face terrible punishment for its continued drone and missile attacks, he was libeled as a modern Nazi exterminator, hellbent on mass death.
When on Tuesday Iran relented and asked for negotiations, Trump suddenly became smeared as a chickening-out TACO naïf, overeager for peace.
Each day, the left tries to think up a new argument for American defeat, even as Iran suffers more one-sided damage.
Their idea is to embolden Iran to hold out, in hopes that Trump — under constant left-wing assault, international pressure to lower gas prices, and his own restive congressional allies — will fold, to be trashed by the left as a TACO again.
More preposterously, the left has peddled the fantasy that Trump’s demands for Iran to surrender its nuclear material copied the Obama Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the so-called Iran deal.
But who could deny that, under President Barack Obama, the deal empowered Iran to rearm even more rapidly with lifted sanctions, nocturnal cash transfers and the unfreezing of its assets?
In contrast, Trump is dealing with a prostrate Iranian military.
Begging a fully armed and defiant Iran merely to postpone its acquisition of a bomb is not the equivalent of dictating to a flattened Iran a series of demands that, if unmet, will lead to its veritable destruction.
Examine another fantasy: the charade of a Democratic effort to impeach Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on silly charges of supposedly aiding an unauthorized war, reckless handling of classified information, obstruction of congressional oversight, abuse of power, politicization of the military and more.
Note that Hegseth, in a single year, fixed the years-long crisis of falling enlistment that he inherited.
He has now even exceeded recruitment targets by emphasizing that soldiers should concentrate on combat effectiveness and not on race, sex or sexual orientation.
His Pentagon oversaw the summer 2025 destruction of Iranian nuclear facilities (with no fatalities), the military extradition of Nicolas Maduro and the recalibration of a once-rogue Venezuela (with no casualties), and the current war that in a matter of weeks destroyed the military capability of the once-feared theocratic Iran (with 13 fatalities so far).
The war in Iran is not “unauthorized”; it has not exceeded the 90-day limit under the War Powers Act.
However, Obama’s seven-month unauthorized bombing of Libya, under the Democrats’ current logic, really was a “war crime” — as was his “unauthorized,” months-long drone assassination campaign on the Afghan border that killed 500, including four US citizens.
Finally, for over a decade the left has waged a coordinated, often extralegal effort to destroy the campaigns and presidency of Donald Trump.
And so forth.

On Sunday morning, a small drone piloted by Hezbollah operatives slammed into Israeli soldiers repairing their tank in the southern Lebanese town of Taybeh, inside an Israeli-declared security zone, and in the midst of a ceasefire.
The drone, rigged with explosives, detonated on impact, killing Sgt. Idan Fooks and wounding six other soldiers, four of them seriously.
An Israeli Air Force helicopter was dispatched to evacuate the casualties. But as medics worked to load the maimed, Hezbollah struck again, launching two additional explosive-laden drones at the exposed troops.
One drone was successfully intercepted. The second tore in low, crashing just meters from the soldiers and the waiting helicopter before exploding. No further injuries were caused.
Footage from the scene showed troops firing at the incoming drone moments before it hit the ground.
The attack laid bare a growing vulnerability: the Israel Defense Forces’ lack of preparedness for first-person view (FPV) drones in Leb ...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , which have been an increasingly prominent weapon in Hezbollah’s arsenal during the current fighting.
In recent weeks, Hezbollah has released multiple videos showing small FPV drones homing in on Israeli tanks and vehicles across southern Lebanon. Some of these drones are guided via fiber optic cables, making them effectively immune to electronic jamming.

The Israel Defense Forces has reported dozens of drone-related injuries in recent weeks, though most were minor. Sunday’s attack marked the first fatal FPV dronezap on Israeli forces.
Yet the emergence of fiber optic-guided drones should not have come as a surprise.
Hezbollah had already deployed FPV drones against Israeli targets during fighting in 2024, albeit on a more limited scale. And such drones have become a defining feature of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
According to independent military analyst Jakub Janovsky, fiber optic FPV drones first appeared on the Ukrainian battlefield in spring 2024. "But it took more than six months to refine the early designs into something reliable and effective," he told The Times of Israel.
Israeli military officials acknowledge that the IDF still lacks an effective counter to fiber-optic-guided drones. By contrast, conventional drones can often be neutralized with electronic warfare means.
The gap was underscored on April 11, when the Defense Ministry’s Directorate of Defense Research and Development issued a public call for solutions to the threat — nearly two years after such systems first surfaced in Ukraine, and weeks into the current conflict with Hezbollah.
"The Defense Ministry is seeking additional capabilities to address this threat," read the invitation to submit bids. "The purpose of this request is to identify innovative and mature technologies."
For now, there is no easy fix. "Unless you’re lucky, or the operator makes a mistake, the only reliable counter is to shoot them down," Janovsky explained. Experimental systems, such as automated turrets, are being tested in Ukraine, but none has been deployed at scale, he said.
Another challenge lies in the drones’ simplicity.
Hezbollah’s FPV drones are relatively cheap compared to other weapons in its arsenal, such as anti-tank guided missiles. Built largely from off-the-shelf components and 3D-printed parts, they typically carry RPGs as warheads — plentiful, but only marginally effective against Israeli armored vehicles.
Still, cost scales with ambition.
"Range is the key factor," Janovsky noted. "A kilometer of fiber optic cable costs around $30 when bought in bulk. So extending range quickly drives up the price."
The IDF initially assessed that Hezbollah’s fiber optic drones could only operate over a few kilometers. Later, the military discovered launches occurring from distances of up to 15 kilometers (nine miles).
