New polling from NBC found that though Israel is hemorrhaging support among Democrats, the views of Republicans are virtually unchanged since 2013. They’ve actually moved slightly in Israel’s favor—from 67% support to 69% support. It’s higher for MAGA. In another poll, 93% of self-described “MAGA or Trump Conservatives” told pollsters they approve of the United States-Israel alliance.
In a lengthy conversation just now, President Trump hit back at Tucker Carlson who called the Iran war “absolutely disgusting and evil.”

The fact that Jews continue to vote Democrat is amazingly destructive. The rationale is that a particular Dem candidate is not crazy and hateful, but once they get to the School Board or to Congress, they all vote the same.

Both groups are becoming more aware and concerned. There will be some converts, but for most the best that will happen is withholding donations and their vote.
[Hot Air] Watching the coverage of Operation Epic Fury has given me epic fury.
Two weeks into a military operation that was advertised as taking 4-12 weeks, the media, the transnational establishment, and the Democratic Party is trying to convince everybody that the Iranian regime is winning, that its political position is impregnable, that its military capabilities aren't degraded a bit, and that our military planners, who have been war gaming this operation or some variant for decades, were caught off guard.
The coverage has all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation, to use an oft-repeated claim.
Over the past few days, the war entered a new phase, with Israel specifically targeting Basij militia forces with drone strikes and Iranian dissidents now assassinating Iran's internal security forces. Nobody wanted or expected an uprising in the opening phases of the war, and everybody is glad that the Iranians did not become cannon fodder for regime forces to murder.
Soon enough, we will see if these new efforts bear fruit, as I suspect they will.

[PJ] True story: I opened so many tabs with "Bad news for the Islamic Republic surviving" items on Sunday that Monday morning raised the question, "How the heck do I organize this much material into a single column?"
But I'm a highly trained [cough, cough] news professional, so here we go.
The first 10 days or so of Operation Epic Fury/Roaring Lion saw U.S./Israeli forces focusing their attacks on the top of the Islamic Republic's regime "pyramid," for lack of a better word. Initial strikes took out dozens of senior civilian and military leaders — the apex of the pyramid — paralyzing or at least confusing the regime's ability to respond.
While the Israeli Air Force (IAF) kept whacking leadership moles as they popped up, both IAF and U.S. air power went after military targets like air defenses, missile launchers, drone facilities, and the like. Iran's offensive abilities quickly degraded.

I also agree with SH. Taking Kharg Island would be a major political and economic blow to Iran. Attacking an enemies economy is a major tool in President Trump's toolbox. It's very nice change instead of civilians and some poor 18 year soldiers getting killed.

@6 Regardless of the reason, I'm glad that the Gulf States are currently restricting their actions to self defense. Mostly they would just get in the way and I doubt the political fall out would be positive.

I too think the Marines are headed for Kharg Island eventually, but remember the Kuwait ploy by Schwarzkopf. The Amphib group approach tease to bring all the remain anti-shipping assets to Hormuz engagement area for harvesting. Rangers/82nd air bridge onto Kharg to prevent destruction as the Iranian forces are mopped up, then Hold the island and sweep the mainland shoreline to create a Zone of Control, choke of money source as needed, rinse and repeat while the new regime takes hold. Just spit-balling of course...

Kharg would be a target for the regime only once they know they are leaving like Saddam did in Kuwait. It’s currently necessary for the regime to pump their oil to tankers. The US built the facility. The US or China could rebuild it. Iran’s currency is worth nothing, it would be Belt and Road terms to get China’s help on the rebuild.
