[Breitbart] A woman accused in the brutal killing of an Uber Eats driver in Chicago on Monday has a lengthy criminal history.
The suspect in the case was identified as 33-year-old Montoya Perry, who has convictions that include forgery, gun possession, robbery, burglary, possession of a stolen car, and escape, CWB Chicago reported Wednesday.
ABC7 noted Perry was “out on pretrial release for another incident that happened two weeks ago.”
The incident happened around 2:00 a.m. when victim Daniel Figueroa left his minivan running outside Loretto Hospital as he went inside to make a delivery.
Perry and two others are accused of getting into the van; she got behind the wheel. When Figueroa saw what was happening, he dashed toward his car, according to security video.
The young man grabbed the passenger door handle but Perry allegedly sped away and Figueroa fell onto the ground, after which the vehicle’s rear tire ran over him.
As a result, he suffered a fatal head injury. Perry was arrested two weeks prior for driving on a suspended license, fleeing from police officers, and obstructing police.
Following a hearing for the case, Figueroa’s mother said, “I just don’t want this to happen to anybody else’s family. He’s 28 years old. I’m not gonna let his name go in vain and I love you Daniel, wherever you’re at. I just pray with the help of the justice system and everyone involved that Daniel gets justice.”
Chicago police eventually found Perry with the van, and she reportedly admitted to taking it and seeing the victim running toward it.
She was charged with murder during the commission of a forcible felony and vehicular hijacking in the case. A judge ordered she be detained pending a trial, according to ABC 7.
In regard to Figueroa’s initial food delivery, the outlet noted, “Prosecutors say a doctor at the hospital was supposed to receive the food, but became suspicious after not getting any updates.”
“They say he then made his way outside, where Figueroa was found lying in a pool of blood. He died shortly after,” the report stated, adding police are still looking for the other two people in the case.
The CWB Chicago article said that after the initial incident, Perry wrote in a social media post, “The [expletive] we had to do to get home is crazy but we made it ** if u missing a car, u can come get it! We don’t want it!!”

More than 20,000 immigrant truck drivers will be able to keep their licenses in California, at least temporarily, despite efforts by the Trump administration and the state of California to revoke them, according to a tentative ruling Wednesday in Alameda County Superior Court.
The decision puts the state of California in a bind. The U.S. Department of Transportation already has repeatedly pushed the California Department of Motor Vehicles to rescind these licenses, which belong to many asylum seekers and other immigrants with temporary legal status, after the federal government found alleged clerical issues regarding the expiration dates on their licenses. The California DMV complied with the transportation department's demands and sent letters to more than 20,000 drivers last fall, telling them that their California licenses would expire in the next 60 days.

The alleged suspect, Abdul Jalloh, 32, also has a criminal history of more than 30 arrests, according to DHS, including for rape, malicious wounding, assault, identity theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, assault and pick-pocketing.

An illegal immigrant who reported to a U.S. Border Patrol site in Florida to perform some Information technology contractual work was arrested when authorities were made aware of his citizenship status, officials said.
Angel Camacho, a Venezuelan citizen, reported to a USBP center in Dania Beach, Florida, Jan. 6 to do some IT work when U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials began vetting him, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told Fox News Digital.
During its investigation, it was revealed Camacho was in violation of U.S. immigration laws, authorities said.
"CBP vets all external visitors before allowing them to enter secure facilities to ensure safety and operational integrity," DHS Deputy Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement.
"During the vetting process, CBP uncovered this individual was a tourist visa overstay in the country for over five years."
Camacho was arrested and transferred to ICE custody, Bis said.
His criminal history includes theft and resisting a Florida Highway Patrol officer, officials said. Federal authorities have nabbed several illegal immigrants in the process of trying to obtain employment in law enforcement and education.
One Sierra Leone citizen was recently arrested as he was training to become a Pennsylvania corrections officer.
Another illegal immigrant, Ian Roberts, served as the former superintendent of Iowa's largest district, Des Moines Public Schools, before he was arrested by ICE.

Funston, granted parole earlier this month, was set to be released on Thursday from state prison — but was rearrested that same day on new charges from a decades-old, untried case. The charges he's facing are from a 1996 case in which he is accused of sexually assaulting a child in Roseville, according to the Placer County district attorney's office.
In 1999, he was convicted of 16 counts of kidnapping and child molestation and had been serving three consecutive sentences of 25 years to life and one sentence of 20 years and eight months at the California Institution for Men in Chino. The sentences followed a string of cases out of Sacramento County in which prosecutors said Funston lured children under the age of 7 with candy and, in at least one case, a Barbie doll to kidnap and sexually assault them, often under the threat of violence.
He was described by a judge at his sentencing hearing as ''the monster parents fear the most.''

[Breitbart] A coalition of 20 attorneys general from red states are pressuring the American Medical Association (AMA) to disavow puberty blockers for minors, calling the leading medical organization’s position inconsistent given its recent about-face on sex change surgeries for youth.
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall sent a letter on behalf of the coalition to AMA CEO Dr. John J. Whyte on Monday, asking the group to reconsider its position on sex change drugs for minors and to explain the evidence it is basing its current guidance on, Fox News reported.
The attorneys general first praised the AMA for concurring with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons that sex change surgeries for minors lack “clear evidence.” The attorneys general argued that evidence is also weak on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones form sex-confused youth.
“We thus find it concerning that the AMA continues to support the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to treat gender dysphoria in minors,” the letter reads. “The quality of evidence is the same as it is for surgeries: low and very-low quality.”
The chief legal officers cited systemic reviews from the Department of Health and Human Services and Dr. Hilary Cass finding a lack of quality evidence supporting sex change drugs for minors.
“So if you agree that there is insufficient evidence to support using surgical interventions to treat gender dysphoria in minors — as your recent statement indicates — we do not understand how you can find that there is sufficient evidence to support using hormonal interventions to treat gender dysphoria in minors,” the letter continues. “These interventions have not been shown to be any safer for children that surgeries are, and in fact may be all the more dangerous precisely because they are viewed as not as serious.”
“But hormones can leave a child sterilized just as surely as surgery can,” the attorneys general added.
The attorneys general provided a listed of question to the AMA about the safety and efficacy of sex change drugs for minors, per the report. They also asked the AMA whether they endorse the standards put forward by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, which all support puberty blockers and hormones for transgender-identifying youth.
Other large medical organizations have embraced gender ideology and touted guidance from WPATH, enabling children to access sex mutilating drugs and surgeries. WPATH has suffered several scandals, including a leaked internal meeting in which an endocrinologist admitted that discussing long-term potential for infertility with a 14-year-old is like “talking to a blank wall,” and a pressure campaign from the Biden administration to remove age requirements for sex-change surgeries.
WPATH, while favored by the pro-transgender Biden administration, has been cast out by the current Trump administration and admonished by the Supreme Court. In January 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order called “Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation,” in which he tossed WPATH guidance into the dustbin, deeming it “junk science.”
“The blatant harm done to children by chemical and surgical mutilation cloaks itself in medical necessity, spurred by guidance from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), which lacks scientific integrity,” the order reads, before mandating all government agencies to rescind all policies relying on WPATH guidance.
Attorneys general warned the AMA that if its position on sex change drugs is inconsistent with high quality evidence, the group could face investigation for potentially violating consumer protection laws. They asked the AMA to respond to their letter by March 25.
“The American Medical Association has finally admitted what many have warned for years: its recommendations for surgeries on children were not grounded in solid evidence, despite telling doctors and families otherwise,” Attorney General Marshall said in a press release. “Yet the same weak science underpins puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. You cannot dismiss one intervention as unsupported while continuing to push the rest. When children’s lives and futures are at stake, anything less than full scientific honesty is reckless. The AMA must follow the science completely, not selectively.”
Attorneys general from Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia joined the letter.
The AMA did not return the outlet’s request for comment by time of publication.
Earlier this month, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) became the first major medical organization to recommend against sex change surgeries for minors.
“Based on what we see today, we cannot endorse gender-related surgical intervention in minors and adolescent patients, given the uncertainties that we’ve discovered,” ASPS President Dr. Bob Basu previously told the outlet.
Last month, a jury in New York awarded a detransitioner $2 million in a lawsuit against her doctors. The detransitioner, 22-year-old Fox Varian, accused her doctors of pushing a double mastectomy on her when she was only 16 years old, and the jury found her psychologist and surgeon liable for medical malpractice, per the New York Post.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced on Friday that Scouting America will alter some of its woke policies to maintain support from the U.S. military, including overturning DEI policies that ''crept in.'' Among the changes, the organization will go back to separating males and females in showers, tents, and intimate spaces.
''Scouting America will modify its policy to make clear that membership will be based solely on biological sex at birth and not gender identity,'' Hegseth said.
''Scouting will also make clear that biological boys and girls will not be allowed to occupy or share intimate spaces together. Toilets, showers, tents, anywhere like that,'' he added. ''Scouting America will honor those who serve by waiving the registration fees for children of active duty, guard, and reserve families. Should have happened a long time ago.''
Hegseth said Scouting America will also introduce a ''new military service merit badge,'' while discontinuing its Citizenship in Society merit badge.
''Scouting America's leadership committed to, in that room right over there, will hopefully result in a rededication to the foundational ideals that have defined Scouting for generations. Duty to God and country, leadership, character, and service,'' the Trump official said.
''This agreement is new, and the Department's support for Scouting America is contingent on them making substantial progress toward reaching these and many other positive changes in the next six months,'' Hegseth said, after referencing Ronald Reagan's ''trust but verify'' quote.
As Hegseth noted, membership that peaked at 6.5 million in 1972 has plummeted to around 1 million since the organization began its march to the left, allowing gay youth in 2013, ending a blanket ban on gay adult leaders in 2015, accepting transgender students in 2017, and allowing girls to be Cub Scouts in 2018.
[MPR News] A Minneapolis man found what he said was an unwelcome surprise in his recent Amazon order: a loaded handgun.
Travis Meier had ordered a hydration vest designed for carrying water on long-distance runs or bike rides. He found a white sealed plastic Amazon package on his doorstep on Feb. 12.
It was the vest he’d ordered, but Meier said it felt heavier than he’d expected. So he checked the pockets. Inside was a holstered handgun — a Ruger LCP 380.

That scared him. Meier said he’s taken gun safety classes and knew how to handle the weapon, but he’s worried about what could have happened if a child or someone without training had opened it — or, if the gun had fired in transit.
"I cannot believe that this thing did not fire," Meier said. "This could have been anybody, and it could have gotten somebody killed."
Meier called 911 after opening the package and officers came that evening. According to the police report, they collected the gun and six cartridges, along with the holster and Amazon packaging.

Surely not always really loaded, or people wouldn’t need those speed loader thingies or those replacement bullet holders (magazines?) that look so cool in cop shows when the hero drops the empty one out and slams the replacement into place before resuming banging away at the bad guy. [Yahoo] President Trump on Friday ordered the federal government to cease all use of Anthropic's (ANTH.PVT) technology, the latest volley in what's been an ongoing standoff between the company and the Department of Defense (DOD).
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, "I am directing EVERY Federal Agency in the United States Government to IMMEDIATELY CEASE all use of Anthropic’s technology. We don’t need it, we don’t want it, and will not do business with them again!"
HOW IS THE PENTAGON THREATENING TO COMPEL ANTHROPIC COMPLIANCE?
Anthropic had been looking to put guardrails in place that would prevent the DOD from using its models for the mass surveillance of Americans or to develop fully autonomous weapons.
Trump said there will be a six-month phase-down period for agencies such as the DOD that use Anthropic's products. He also threatened that if the company doesn't "get their act together, and be helpful" during the period, he will "use the Full Power of the Presidency to make them comply, with major civil and criminal consequences to follow."
Prior to Trump's announcement, the DOD threatened to require Anthropic to grant it full access to its AI models under the Defense Production Act or to label the company a supply chain threat, a designation traditionally reserved for companies from adversarial nations.
[Breitbart] Officials from Panama’s Prosecutor General’s Office on Thursday raided the offices of Panama Ports Company (PPC), a China-linked organization that up until recently controlled two key ports at the Panama Canal.
The raid was part of a probe into allegations that the company deliberately withheld information to the nation’s authorities of its management of the canal ports.
PPC is a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based C.K. Hutchison Holdings, a large company controlled by pro-communist businessman Li Ka-shing. Since 1997, and until recently, PPC controlled two important Panama Canal ports located at opposite ends of the trade route in the provinces of Balboa and Cristóbal. The key ports handle as much as 40 percent of the canal’s entire traffic.
Following a lawsuit presented by Comptroller General Anel Flores last year, Panama’s Supreme Court ruled in January to declare the contracts that gave PPC control of the two ports unconstitutional. The lawsuit stemmed from extensive investigations and audits from both the Comptroller General’s office and Panamanian Attorney General’s office, which found numerous violations of the contract’s terms and irregularities in PPC’s handling of the ports that, according to Flores, caused over $1.2 billion in damages to Panama.
The Supreme Court’s ruling went into effect on Monday. The administration of conservative President José Raúl Mulino immediately acted upon the court’s ruling and ordered the state’s temporary occupation of the two ports, taking administrative and operational control of the facilities as the Panamanian state carries out a transition process towards new port management deals with other private companies.
The Panamanian newspaper La Prensa reported that a team of officials from the Prosecutor General’s Office led by prosecutor Azael Samaniego raided three PPC offices located at Panama City’s Terrazas de Albrook shopping mall with the assistance of the National Police’s Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ) and Panama’s Maritime Authority (AMP).
According to the newspaper, Prosecutor Samaniego did not disclose specific details but explained that all documentation seized by the officials will remain under the custody of the Public Ministry. The official reportedly explained that there is currently an “open criminal case” under the Criminal Code, but pointed out that to protect the investigation, he cannot specify what the alleged crime is at this stage of the investigation. Unnamed sources confirmed to La Prensa that PPC is believed to have withhold information of its operations at the Balboa and Cristobál ports.

Gan highlighted that Singapore’s TFR dropped to 0.87 in 2025 from 0.97 the previous year, meaning a shrinking citizen population could emerge by the early 2040s if no policy interventions are made.
While supporting Singaporeans in forming families remains the top priority, controlled immigration will be needed to supplement the low birth rate.
He added that the government will continue to manage immigration carefully, maintaining ethnic balance, ensuring integration, and avoiding intake rates beyond the country’s capacity.
The country also expects to welcome roughly 40,000 permanent residents (PRs) annually over the next five years, slightly up from 35,000 in 2025.
PRs remain a key pathway to citizenship, helping Singapore sustain a stable and potentially modestly growing population.
The policy will be reassessed in 2030, depending on shifts in fertility rates and other demographic trends.

[Reuters] OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said on Friday it has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of War to deploy its AI models on classified cloud networks.
"In all of our interactions, the DoW displayed a deep respect for safety and a desire to partner to achieve the best possible outcome," Altman said in a post on X.
[Reuters] A U.S. Senate committee next week will consider extending the planned life of the International Space Station by two years to give companies more time to develop a replacement, one of a few changes to a NASA bill focused on rivaling China's growing footprint in space.
The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation plans to take up legislation on March 4 that would amend a NASA authorization bill with the ISS extension, and add a requirement that NASA build a base on the moon's surface as part of its Artemis program.
The ISS extension, which has bipartisan backing from the committee's chair Ted Cruz and ranking member Maria Cantwell, is part of the committee's focus on rivaling China, as Beijing considers foreign partners on its own Tiangong space station and a 2030 crewed moon landing.
NASA had planned to retire the ISS, which has been in orbit for more than two decades, by 2030. The proposed extension would set its retirement at 2032.
The ISS has sprung small leaks in recent years that the space agency sees as signs of its age, as the U.S. private sector increasingly appears capable of taking over its role.
NASA is funding early company concepts of a commercial focused replacement, drawing involvement from firms such as Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin and Voyager (VOYG.N). But some of those companies have made little progress toward 2030 deployment, raising concerns about a gap in U.S.-crewed activity in low-Earth orbit as geopolitical competition in the domain soars.
The space agency last year tapped Elon Musk's SpaceX to build a spacecraft that could attach to the ISS and drag it into Earth's atmosphere for a controlled destruction, opting against preserving it as an orbital landmark to avoid debris risks and potentially costly maintenance.
Adding the requirement for a moon base to NASA's authorization would help cement the agency's desire to establish a long-term presence on the moon, using that experience as practice for future missions to Mars.
