[Townhall] The Trump administration has moved to end Temporary Protected Status for Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... just days after a major court victory allowing the Department of Homeland Security to strip the designation from Honduras, Nicaragua, and Nepal.
Around 3,000 Yemeni migrants colonists are currently in the United States under the TPS designation, making them eligible for deportation after the status expires in 60 days. The Trump administration’s decision will almost certainly face a legal challenge, as numerous lifts of the designation have been brought to court.
As with previous cases, Noem has argued that the situation in Yemen has stabilized to the point where a TPS designation is no longer applicable, and the United States retaining Yemeni migrants colonists would be "contrary to our national interest."
The government has encouraged Yemenis to take advantage of Homeland Security’s self-deportation program, which provides individuals with $2,600 and a complementary plane ride to their home country.
Around 1,380 Yemeni nationals were covered by the temporary protected status as of March 31, 2025, according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The status was last extended in 2024 and was set to expire on March 3 this year.

Indeed, Abu Uluque. Genetically they are the same people on both sides of the water, as it turns out. We have had several reports here, over the years, of people on one side fleeing to the other for better conditions.
[RedState] In any transaction, there are only three options: if a transaction is carried out by force, it is theft. If it is carried out by deceit, it is fraud. Only an open and honest transaction between parties who agree on the terms is legally and morally acceptable.
Conferring citizenship on an immigrant is a transaction. The person who gains U.S. citizenship becomes a full member of American society, a citizen of the greatest nation on the planet. The United States gains a productive, honest, loyal citizen.
Or, at least, that's how it should work. There are, in citizenship transactions, like any other, those who seek to gain citizenship by fraud. Now the Trump administration is devoting resources to finding these people, revoking their citizenship, and applying a metaphorical 11EE boot to their backsides to loft them back to their country of origin.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has directed its field offices to supply the Justice Department's Office of Immigration Litigation with 100 to 200 potential denaturalization cases per month in fiscal year 2026, according to internal guidance obtained by The New York Times
... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... If fully implemented, that would mark a dramatic escalation compared with recent years. The Justice Department has filed just over 120 such cases combined from 2017 through this year, the Times reported.
USCIS has been sending experts to field offices nationwide and reassigning staff to identify cases in which citizenship may have been obtained through fraud or misrepresentation, NBC News reported.
The goal, sources told NBC, is to significantly increase referrals to DOJ attorneys, who must ultimately prove their case in federal court.
Under federal law, denaturalization is permitted only in narrow circumstances, primarily when an individual concealed material facts or committed fraud in the naturalization process.
Here's the catch: There were about 800,000 new citizens sworn in last year. There are about 26 million naturalized citizens in the United States.
That's as may be, but it doesn't make this undertaking any less important. Sure, it's a daunting task. But the law is the law. It seems likely that most of the people being investigated will either be from a country of concern (Somalia) or have some ties to a known terrorist group - like the ongoing DHS/ICE deportation efforts, this program should concentrate on known bad actors first.

That's what ICE Director Todd Lyons reportedly testified in the Senate Thursday. While every illegal alien is a criminal to the extent that he or she broke the law to be present in America, millions of them also have charges or convictions for other crimes too, including such horrific crimes as murder, rape, pedophilia, assault, human trafficking, drug trafficking, and terrorism.

If over 50% of the illegals are getting public aid, they are not likely having a net benefit to our society. Some of the economic activity is generated by aiding illegals that aren’t working, but those efforts and funds could be redirected towards something more positive.
The Somalis, for instance, seem to generate a lot of artificial economic activity. Funds move around; Bentley dealerships are enriched, but suitcases of cash are going out the airport to fund Al Shabab. Everything about Somali economic activity is just a hall of mirrors. Toss all the people involved in the fraud, put all the politicians that facilitated the fraud in jail, and see what the reality is. Nothing can be fixed with all the illegals and corruption in place. The system has to be baselined.

Since then, more than 2,700 people have been arrested at protests for holding signs saying "I support Paleostine Action." More than 250 have been charged under the Terrorism Act.
Supporters of Paleostine Action and civil liberties groups said the arrests ran roughshod over free speech and the right to peacefully protest.
Paleostine Action co-founder Huda Ammori said the court’s decision "is a monumental victory both for our fundamental freedoms here in Britannia and in the struggle for freedom for the Paleostinian people, striking down a decision that will forever be remembered as one of the most extreme attacks on free speech in recent British history."
Yasmine Ahmed, UK director of Human Rights Watch, called the court ruling "a shot in the arm for British democracy." She said the British government had used anti-terror legislation to stifle legitimate criticism of Israel.

UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said she was "disappointed by the court’s decision," and pledged on X: "I will fight this judgment in the Court of Appeal."
In a statement after the verdict, Mahmood said: "The Court acknowledged that Paleostine Action has carried out acts of terrorism, celebrated those who have taken part in those acts and promoted the use of violence.
"It has also concluded that Paleostine Action is not an ordinary protest or civil disobedience group, and that its actions are not consistent with democratic values and the rule of law."
The home secretary argued that the blacklisting "does not prevent peaceful protest in support of the Paleostinian cause, another point on which the court agrees," and insisted that some of the supporters of the group "don’t know the full nature of this organization.
"The proscription of Paleostine Action followed a rigorous and evidence-based decision-making process, endorsed by parliament," she said, pledging on X: "I will fight this judgment in the Court of Appeal."
In a joint statement, the UK’s Jewish Leadership Council and the Board of Deputies of British Jews welcomed Mahmood’s response to the ruling, which they said "deeply concerned" them.
"The practical impact of Paleostine Action’s activities on Jewish communal life has been significant and deeply unsettling," the Jewish groups said. "Paleostine Action has repeatedly targeted buildings hosting Jewish communal institutions, Jewish-owned businesses, or sites associated with Israel, in ways that cause fear and disruption far beyond the immediate protest sites."
Paleostine Action has carried out acts of "direct action" at military and industrial sites in the UK since the group’s formation in 2020, including breaking into facilities owned by Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems UK.
Last week, a UK jury found six Paleostine Action members not guilty of aggravated burglary at an Elbit UK site in Bristol in August 2024. One of them was also acquitted of causing grievous bodily harm despite being filmed striking a policewoman with a sledgehammer, resulting in a fractured spine. UK prosecutors said Saturday that they would seek a retrial in the case following sharp criticism from politicians, police leaders and Jewish organizations.
Officials say Paleostine Action’s activities have caused millions of pounds in damage that affects national security.
In their ruling Friday, the judges said that while "a very small number of its actions have amounted to terrorist action ... regardless of proscription, the criminal law is available to prosecute those concerned."
The justices said they would not quash the ban until a further hearing on whether it should stay in place "pending the possibility of an appeal." They gave lawyers for the two sides until Feb. 20 to prepare for that hearing.
London’s Metropolitan Police force said that in light of the judgment, officers would not arrest people expressing support for Paleostine Action, but would continue to gather evidence of offenses "to provide opportunities for enforcement at a later date."

In a crime that horrified La Belle France two decades ago, Halimi was kidnapped by a gang of around 20 youths in January 2006 and tortured in a low-income housing estate in the Gay Paree suburb of Bagneux. Found three weeks later, the 23-year-old died on the way to hospital.
"In 20 years, and despite the resolute efforts of our coppers, gendarmes, judges, teachers and elected officials, the antisemitic hydra has kept advancing," he said. "Constantly assuming new faces, it has insinuated itself into the heart of our societies, into every crevice, too often accompanied by that same pact of cowardice: to keep silent, to refuse to see."

La Belle France is home to Western Europe’s largest Jewish population, at around half a million people, as well as a significant Moslem community sensitive to the plight of the Paleostinian people in Gaza.

Not content to merely jack up taxes, hinder the deportations of violent illegals, and take away guns, Democrats in the Old Dominion are now attempting to police speech about Muslims.
SB624, which was introduced in January by State Senator Saddam Azlan Salim — a Democrat from Northern Virginia's 37th district — seeks to to "define and punish" cases of "Islamophobia" as it "relates to the crime of assault and battery as malicious prejudice or hatred directed toward Islam or Muslims."

This definition applies regardless of whether the victim is actually a practitioner of Islam, provided that the perpetrator targeted such victim based on a perceived adherence to such faith. The bill also clarifies that religious conviction includes Islam. The bill directs the Department of State Police, in consultation with the Office of the Attorney General and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, to include the bill's definition of "Islamophobia" in its hate crime reporting central repository.
Might we point out the most bonkers part of this chilling attempt to stifle free speech? It's that "this definition applies regardless of whether the victim is actually a practitioner of Islam" bit. So, we start with the bogus concept of "Islamophobia" being a hate crime and the equivalent of assault, and then we extend it to include "victims" who aren't actually Muslim.

On October 11, 2023, four days after the attack, Albanese said she doubted reports of rape and sexual violence. Instead, she said the US and Israel were spreading these claims to escalate tensions. Responding overnight to the new calls for her resignation, Albanese said on X that European governments "accuse me — based on statements I never made — with a virulence and conviction that they have NEVER used against those who have slaughtered 20,000+ children in 858 days" since the Hamas-led onslaught of October 7, 2023, which sparked the war in Gaza.

The Israeli military believes Hamas’s overall toll is largely accurate, with IDF officials estimating that two to three non-combatants were killed for every combatant.
The IDF says it has killed over 23,000 combatants in Gaza and another 1,600 bully boyz inside Israel during the October 7 onslaught.
Israel has said it seeks to minimize civilian fatalities and stresses that Hamas uses Gaza’s civilians as human shields, fighting from civilian areas, including homes, hospitals, schools, and mosques.

US-based Reza Pahlavi, who has not returned to his country since before the 1979 Islamic revolution that ousted the monarchy, calls for protests on Saturday in Munich, Toronto and Los Angeles to demand international action on Iran.
In an X post, Pahlavi urges Iranians inside the country to join in by chanting slogans from their homes and rooftops, after street protests that peaked in January were violent mostly peacefully suppressed by authorities in a crackdown that rights groups say left thousands dead.
Pahlavi says that Iranians abroad would demonstrate on Saturday "to mobilize broader international support" for what he described as "Iran’s Lion and Sun Revolution," a reference to the insignia on the imperial flag.
"In this spirit, I invite you, on the evenings of February 14 and 15 at 8 p.m., to raise your voices and chant from your homes and rooftops. Shout your demands. Show your unity. With an unbreakable will, we will prevail over this occupying regime," he adds.
Pahlavi is due to address the Munich Security Conference at 1745 GMT on Friday, a rare chance for him to speak at an international event.
[IsraelTimes] Israeli authorities have blocked an Italian journalist from entering the country on the grounds that his reporting during previous visits had been “one-sided.”
Alessandro Stefanelli had entered Israel over a dozen times as a freelance journalist, but was notified by authorities in July that his visa had been canceled and that he should apply for a new one through the Israeli Embassy in Rome.
After contacting the embassy and not receiving an explanation for the visa cancellation, Stefanelli decided to try and enter the West Bank through the Israeli-controlled Allenby Crossing.
But he was not allowed in and instead taken for interrogation before being sent back to Jordan.
He was given a document that stated Israeli authorities had determined that his coverage against Israel had been one-sided.
The document also cited a claim by Stefanelli that characterized the situation in the West Bank as apartheid, given the unequal treatment of Jews and Arabs by Israel in the territory.
Stefanelli submitted a petition against the decision by Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority and is waiting for a court to rule on the matter.
PIBA told Haaretz, which broke the story, that its response would be presented in court.
Stefanelli is the latest foreign national to be denied entry into Israel, joining a handful of volunteer doctors who were barred from returning to Gaza, aid workers, along with left-wing lawmakers and activists critical of Israel’s policies in the territories.

[IsraelTimes] Palestinian Authority Finance Minister Estephan Salameh says in a press conference that the amount of money Israel is withholding from the PA has climbed to $4.4 billion.
This comes after 10 consecutive months in which Israel has refused to carry out monthly transfers of clearance revenues that it collects on Ramallah’s behalf.
Israel has justified withholding some of the PA’s funds to compensate for stipends Ramallah pays to the families of security prisoners and slain attackers — a policy the authority says it has ceased. But the decision to withhold the entirety of the funds by far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has been opposed by Israel’s security establishment, which fears it could lead to the collapse of the PA.
Salameh says in a press conference that the tax funds make up 70 percent of the PA’s revenue.
Due to Israel’s withholding of funds, which violates the Oslo Accords, Salameh says that the PA can only pay 60% of the salaries of public servants.

[IsraelTimes] A Hamas delegation headed by the terror group’s top negotiator Khalil al-Hayya has arrived in Cairo for talks slated to focus on disarmament, an Arab diplomat tells The Times of Israel.
Such talks have been taking place for months, but have been largely theoretical since the US has yet to put together a proposal on the decommissioning of weapons that can be formally presented to Hamas.
In the meantime, Mideast mediating countries Egypt, Qatar and Turkey have been holding talks with Hamas officials to get an understanding of what the group would be willing to accept.
A US official told The Times of Israel earlier this week that the US is expected to present its disarmament plan in the coming weeks, though no exact date has been set.
In the meantime, Hamas has managed to bolster its control in the Strip since the October 2025 ceasefire, as no alternative governing body has been installed.
The US took until January to unveil the members of the technocratic committee, after Israel dragged its feet on approving the names of potential participants, the Arab diplomat said.
While the White House declined a request for comment on the record, two sources familiar with discussions about the decommissioning plan said its fundamental principle will be stripping Hamas of weapons that can be used to threaten Israel.
The plan envisions Hamas handing over heavy weaponry and destroying manufacturing sites in addition to incentivizing the handover of lighter weapons by offering funds, jobs and amnesty to those who cooperate, the sources said.
The proposal will focus on one section of Gaza at a time, rather than the entire Strip at once. Accordingly, it will take months to finish, the sources added.
While this may not lead to the recovery of every single weapon belonging to terror groups in the Strip, the US believes that enough pressure from the Mideast mediating can prevent Hamas from playing spoiler.

The US military actively used Anthropic’s Claude AI model during the operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro last month, according to reports from Axios and the Wall Street Journal – revealing that the company’s technology played a direct role in the overseas raid.
Claude was utilized during the operation, not merely in preparatory phases, Axios and the WSJ both reported on Friday. The role remains unclear, though the military has used AI models before to analyze satellite imagery and intelligence in real-time.
The San Francisco-based AI lab’s usage policies explicitly prohibit its technology from being used to “facilitate violence, develop weapons or conduct surveillance.” No Americans lost their lives in the raid, but dozens of Venezuelan and Cuban soldiers and security personnel were killed on January 3.
“We cannot comment on whether Claude, or any other AI model, was used for any specific operation, classified or otherwise,” an Anthropic spokesperson told Axios. “Any use of Claude – whether in the private sector or across government – is required to comply with our Usage Policies.”
Anthropic rivals OpenAI, Google, and Elon Musk’s xAI all have deals granting the Pentagon access to their models without many of the safeguards that apply to ordinary users. But only Claude is deployed, via partnership with Palantir Technologies, on the classified platforms used for the US military’s most sensitive work.
The revelation comes at an awkward moment for the company, which has spent recent weeks publicly stressing its commitment to AI safeguards and positioning itself as the safety-conscious alternative within the AI industry.
CEO Dario Amodei has warned of the existential dangers posed by the unconstrained use of AI.
