Midlife crisis — instead of a red sports car and a new wife?
[Breitbart] Paul Campo, who previously served as a high-ranking Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) official in the Obama administration, is accused, along with a friend, of agreeing to launder millions for the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG) — one of Mexico’s largest drug cartels.
Campo, who served as the deputy chief of financial operations at the DEA under Obama, is accused alongside Robert Sensi in an unsealed 15-page indictment of working to launder $12 million to CJNG, which controls huge swaths of the drug trade throughout the United States and is also involved in human smuggling at the U.S.-Mexico border.
After President Donald Trump was elected to his first term in 2016, Campo was among many federal employees who left their posts.
According to federal prosecutors, Campo and Sensi started meeting with a confidential source posing as a member of CJNG in late 2024.
In later meetings, prosecutors allege, Campo and Sensi agreed to launder about $12,000,000 of CJNG narcotics and, a news release states:
… laundered $750,000 by converting cash into cryptocurrency, provided a payment for approximately 220 kilograms of cocaine on the understanding that the payment would trigger the distribution and sale of the narcotics worth approximately $5,000,000, for which CAMPO and SENSI would (i) receive directly a portion of the narcotics proceeds as profit; and (ii) receive a further commission upon the laundering of the balance of the narcotics proceeds. [Emphasis added]
Perhaps most shocking, the indictment alleges that Campo and Sensi began advising the confidential source on procuring drones and weaponry so that CJNG could carry out its drug trafficking and human smuggling using state-of-the-art military weapons like AR-15 semi-automatic rifles, M4 carbines, M16 rifles, grenade launchers, and rocket-propelled grenades.
In one conversation, the confidential source told Campo that CJNG puts explosives on the drones “and we just send it over there, boom.”
In a similar conversation, the confidential source asked how much explosive material the drones could carry, to which Sensi allegedly responded that the drones could carry six kilograms or enough to “blow up the whole f—— … I don’t want to say.”
Campo, 61 of Virginia, and Sensi, 75 of Florida, are each charged with one count of conspiring to commit narcoterrorism, one count of conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine, one count of conspiring to provide material support and resources to CJNG, a designated foreign terrorist organization, and one count of conspiring to commit money laundering.
Both Campo and Sensi face life in prison if convicted of the charges.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A black man was acquitted of stabbing a white man in Oregon after he claimed the attack was self-defense because the victim called him a racial slur.
Gary Edwards, 43, was charged with second-degree assault for stabbing a man in Portland near a light rail stop on July 8, KPTV reported.
However, he was found not guilty of the crime on October 31 after the jury learned the victim was using racial slurs in the aftermath of the altercation.
Edwards, who is homeless and has a previous assault conviction, admitted to knifing the victim, Gregory Howard Jr., but claimed it was in self-defense because the other man called him the n-word, according to Oregon Live.
Security cameras, with no audio, captured Edwards, with a fixed-blade knife in hand, approaching Howard as he sat on a beach.
Howard immediately jumped up and pushed Edwards, then the two scuffled until Edwards stabbed Howard in the shoulder.
Edwards defense attorney Daniel Small reportedly told the jury that his client was approaching Howard to see if he would trade his knife for cigarettes.
'What other than racism could explain why Mr. Howard perceived hatred, animosity and aggression from a complete stranger,' Small said.
Moments later, body camera footage from security officers captured Howard shouting a racist slur at Edwards after he had been stabbed.
Surely the fighting words thingy doesn’t count if uttered afterward.
It is unclear if there is any evidence to suggest that Howard used the slur before he was stabbed.
Prosecutor Katherine Williams told the jury it did not matter what the victim said after he was stabbed.
'The defendant is not scared for his life. He didn't retreat, he sauntered up - and he sauntered away after he stabbed someone. The defendant created the situation,' Williams said.
Despite the prosecutors pleas, the jury found Edwards not guilty.
Edwards lawyer insisted the case never should have gone to trial.
'I laid my cards out on the table and told the state how the trial would go, but it didn't matter,' he told Oregon Live.
Edwards, who is homeless, spent about three months in custody before the trail after prosecutors argued he was a threat to the public due to his lengthy criminal record, according to the outlet.

the state could lose federal Medicaid funding unless it restores "the integrity" of its program.
In a post on X, Dr. Oz claimed more than $1 billion had been stolen through a massive Medicaid fraud scheme carried out by "bad actors" within Minnesota’s Somali community, alleging some of the funds "may have even made its way to the Somalian terrorist group (al-Shabab)."
"Our staff at CMS told me they’ve never seen anything like this in Medicaid — and everyone from Gov. Tim Walz on down needs to be investigated, because they’ve been asleep at the wheel," Oz said.
Oz demanded Walz take the following corrective measures within 60 days:
Send weekly updates on anti-fraud efforts to CMS
Freeze enrollment of high-risk providers for six months
Verify all current providers as "legitimate" or remove them
Send CMS a corrective action plan to prevent fraud in the future
"If we’re unsatisfied with the state’s plans or cooperation, we’ll stop paying the federal share of these programs," Oz warned.
[ZeroHedge] HUD Secretary Scott Turner told Fox Business on Friday that illegal aliens received federally backed mortgages during the Biden–Harris regime years. Turner characterized this as a significant policy failure by the previous administration and evidence of what he called misplaced priorities that favored illegals over American homebuyers.
"You know, during the Biden Administration, there were over 12 million illegal aliens that came over the border, straining our housing supply and making the costs go up," Turner told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo.
He continued, "And so we worked with Secretary Noem at DHS, as you alluded to, to make sure that only American citizens are living in HUD-funded housing. We also took away FHA-backed mortgages from illegal aliens. During the Biden Administration, they turned a blind eye. But we're going to keep the law to make sure these mortgages, which are backed by the taxpayer, go only to the American people."
"And lastly, we're mandating every public housing authority give us a comprehensive account of who's living in every unit and every taxpayer-funded HUD property."
In March, Turner's team at HUD began terminating the Biden-era policy that allowed illegals to receive taxpayer-backed FHA mortgages. In very simple terms, this means taxpayers are no longer subsidizing government-insured home loans for illegals.
Biden's policy amounted to a generational betrayal of citizens and prospective homebuyers, who were pushed aside over the last four years amid the worst housing affordability in a generation, driven by out-of-control climate crisis spending and an invasion of illegals that strained an already tight housing market.
This should make it easier for GenZ to get that first home that has thus far been out of reach, driving them to consider socialism a viable alternative. President Trump should be shouting about this to the rooftops.
Let this sink in: illegals were able to access government-backed mortgages and receive generous taxpayer-funded benefits - from housing assistance to food and healthcare - while citizens endured the highest inflation in a generation.
This revelation is likely to anger millions of young Americans who were pushed aside by Democrats and left behind as housing affordability collapsed and government resources were diverted to those here illegally. It also comes alongside fraud cases of staggering size, including the Minneapolis scandal currently unfolding, in which the Somali community has been accused of stealing billions from taxpayers.
