I understand that Oklahoma is a fine place. It is not ideal for Naval aviation as a hub for Pacific communications to submarines. Perhaps basing in Hawaii would save gas.

The mainland Chinese media is blaming the bamboo scaffolding while folks in the construction trade are blaming the non fire-resistant debris netting used, that and someone dropping a lit cigarette.
The bamboo scaffolding itself is fairly fire resistant and has been used for hundreds of years. Adding a fire-resistant netting (like we do here in the states) makes the whole thing pretty safe.
Apparently the police tested a piece of the netting being used and it went up like a torch. It's label even said that it was resistant but made in mainland China, so just another Temu type product.

[DM] A Long Island county has plans for increased security measures on its border with New York City following Zohran Mamdani's mayoral win.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman told Fox News he is 'doing everything necessary to make sure Nassau County is safe.'
He announced plans to bolster the police force and increase collaboration with ICE which he says will protect residents from crime.
'We are installing technology along the border to New York City that will read license plates, have facial recognition that will have video cameras,' he told Fox.
Nassau County shares a border with the Big Apple borough of Queens. An estimated 300,000 Long Island residents make the commute to New York City everyday.
'This new technology will enhance our ability to read license plates, improve video monitoring, and strengthen our overall security posture,' he wrote on social media.
'Nassau County will always take every measure necessary to keep our communities safe.'
Blakeman told the outlet that Mamdani 'talks like he's pro-criminal' and has even called the new mayor 'anti-American'.
Mamdani has promoted pro-immigrant policies and even previously vowed to cut funding from the NYPD.
He has since walked back on that statement and recently decided to keep on police Commissioner Jessica Tisch from the Adam's administration.
