[FoxNews] Industry executive claims foreign-owned entities exploit trucking regulations by hiring illegal immigrants
A trucking executive claims that the U.S. has allowed "foreign-owned entities" that don't follow regulations to "export" and "exploit" the industry, which he believes explains the surge in illegal immigrant drivers.
The federal government is cracking down on illegal immigrant truck drivers following a wave of fatal crashes across America. In late October, the Department of Homeland Security announced 146 illegal immigrant truck drivers were arrested along northwest Indiana highways as part of "Operation Midway Blitz."
Zach Meiborg, who owns Meiborg Brothers Trucking in Illinois, told Fox News Digital that a sizable portion of the trucking industry has been shipped off to foreign-owned countries who don't have an issue with hiring illegal immigrants even though it's against the law.
"We're watching our bureaucrats export the most vital industry to our economy to foreign-owned entities, typically in the Eastern Bloc, formerly Russia. That's why they have no problem hiring them," Meiborg said. "Where foreign-owned companies realized they could exploit like five different areas of the trucking economy and explode the growth of their fleets. And they did it by just flat out breaking the laws and our bureaucrats that regulate us looked the other way."
Meiborg said some trucking companies saw an opportunity to move their operations offshore during the COVID-19 pandemic, putting American companies at a disadvantage.
"Their dispatch is over there, their safety is over there, the recruiting is over there, and they do it all digitally online," he said. "So they're running foreign labor, imported from overseas, not trained, they're paying them 1099, not W-2, not complying with any of the ACA or state tax laws or federal tax laws."
Meiborg said these companies are creating their own electronic logbooks and self-certifying that they're following certain regulations, therefore manipulating the system with little to no oversight.
The Department of Transportation has begun taking action to combat the number of illegal immigrants operating semi-trucks. In late September, the agency announced an emergency interim final rule that would increase federal oversight of how states issue non-domiciled commercial driver's licenses.
Robert Khachatryan, founder and CEO of Freight Right Global Logistics, told Fox News Digital that the federal government needs to continue strengthening its oversight of the industry if it wants to address the number of illegal immigrants driving commercial trucks.
"It's just about enforcing the existing law, right? It's not like we're saying change the law, don't provide driver's licenses to illegal aliens. They're not supposed to. The law is very clear. You need to be a legal resident or you need to be a U.S. citizen to obtain a commercial driver's license in most states, as far as I know. So it just comes down to enforcement," Khachatryan said.
[IsraelTimes] Jewish War Veterans joins Community Security Service to bring military experience into nationwide volunteer effort to protect Jewish communities
A historical US Jewish veterans group on Wednesday partnered with an expanding synagogue security organization, passing on the torch in the effort to protect American Jewish communities.
The Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America announced the partnership with the Community Security Service in a joint statement and a presser, citing the groups’ "shared history of service."
"Together, we ensure that the courage and vigilance displayed by our veterans remain alive and active in our streets, synagogues, and communities," Scott P. Stevens, the head of Jewish War Veterans, said in a statement.
The veterans group was established in 1896 by Jewish veterans of the US Civil War, and played a key role in opposing antisemitism in the US, leading a 1933 march in New York City against Nazi Germany that drew hundreds of thousands. The veterans also led a boycott of Nazi Germany and campaigned for the deportation of Nazis from the US, the group says on its website.
During World War II, the Jewish War Veterans supported Jewish troops on the front lines and lobbied for veterans after they came back to the US, and during the Cold War, opposed the Ku Klux Klan and McCarthyism targeting Jews.
The group’s ranks have dwindled in recent decades, though, while the Community Security Service has expanded across the US, as escalating antisemitism has spurred volunteers to train with the group to protect their communities.
Many members of the Jewish War Veterans have joined the Community Security Service themselves, bringing their military experience home to protect their synagogues, the groups said in the statement.
"The bravery and leadership members of the JWV demonstrated in both defending our country and standing up to existential dangers to the Jewish community is precisely what CSS volunteers aim to replicate against modern antisemitism today," said Richard Priem, the CEO of the Community Security Service.
The partnership will have the groups encourage their members to join the other organization. The Community Security Service will open its training to the veterans to bring their military experience into the volunteer security network.
CSS hopes that some of the veterans will rise to leadership roles in the group, which operates out of local Jewish communities across the country.
CSS also has veterans in its ranks who will be encouraged to join the Jewish War Veterans.
Additionally, CSS will dispatch security guards to veterans’ events and provide security training to the veterans’ organization, which will, in turn, promote CSS events through its own network.

Recent job cuts at CBS News disproportionately hit those whose coverage was critical of Israel, a staffer told Variety in an article published Tuesday.
Variety also reported that CBS’s owner, Paramount, maintains a list of people it doesn’t work with due to their being "overtly antisemitic," as well as "xenophobic" and "homophobic."
In the old days that was called standards.
The report on the job cuts, citing an unnamed staffer, came in a cover story in the entertainment magazine about David Ellison, the CEO of Paramount Skydance, which owns CBS. The roughly 1,000 cuts were part of sweeping changes introduced at the US network after Ellison hired Jewish journalist Bari Weiss as CBS News’s new editor-in-chief. The company also acquired her media startup, The Free Press, for $150 million.
Weiss is vocally pro-Israel, and at least one laid-off news hound, Debora Patta, is considering suing after losing her job, the New York Post reported last week. Paramount has been accused of settling a lawsuit with Trump — over a CBS interview with Trump’s 2024 opponent Kamala Harris Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's' former mistress , and the edit of her answer to a question about the war in Gaza — in order to appease the US president.
Critics said Paramount settled that case in order to appease Trump, whose administration had the power to challenge its merger with tech giant Skydance.
The New York Post reported last week that Weiss decided on Patta’s firing hours before the list of layoffs was finalized, reportedly axing the correspondent in place of Chris Livesay, a Rome-based news hound who, the Post reported, had asked Weiss to assign him the Israel beat.
Variety also reported that Weiss’s pro-Israel advocacy has led to her receiving death threats. The article said that she and her wife, Nellie Bowles, who is also a journalist, have a five-person security detail that costs the network $10,000 to $15,000 per day.
David Ellison is the son of Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, himself an outspoken Israel supporter. Under the younger Ellison’s leadership, Paramount objected to a pledge by thousands of Hollywood figures to boycott Israeli film institutions they claim "are implicated in genocide and apartheid against the Paleostinian people."

Al-Bukhaiti stated in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) page, ''No one could have imagined that a day would come when American and Israeli officers would be directly supervising the training, qualification, and guidance of Salafist groups to fight inside Yemen, serving American interests and protecting the Zionist entity.''
He attached his post with a ''dangerous video report'' documenting the escalation of foreign military activity in the southern and eastern Yemeni governorates in recent weeks. al-Bukhaiti stressed that the current situation transcends mere military support and has reached the stage of ''direct occupation'' under the guise of training and security coordination.
According to the report, since the beginning of last October, the arrival of personnel and officers from the US, Colombia, and ''Israel'' to Yemeni territories has been monitored. They conducted field visits that included extensive assessments of UAE-backed formations, notably the ''Al-Amaliqa'' Brigades and ''Shabwah Defense Forces.''
A joint military committee, including US and Colombian officers under the direct supervision of Israeli experts, held individual meetings with local leaders. The goal is to dismantle Yemen and transform it into a sphere of military influence that serves the interests of Washington and 'Tel Aviv' in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.

The two Kurdish journalists involved in our investigation know that tensions over immigration are high. They worry that such coverage of illegal activities within the Kurdish community could inflame hostilities.

On November 4, a trial began in Paris against Lafarge, a subsidiary of the Swiss concern Holcim, a company that, according to investigators, financed terrorists in Syria to continue operating its plant during the civil war. At issue are millions of euros transferred to ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra militants, designated terrorist organizations by the EU. According to the case materials, from 2013 to September 2014, Lafarge transferred approximately 5 million euros to extremists, violating EU sanctions and effectively making terrorism part of its business model. The goal was simple: to keep the cement plant in Jalabiya in northern Syria running despite the war. A Precedent for France: Terrorism as a Business Partner
This is the first time a company has been tried in France for "terrorist financing." Eight former Lafarge executives, including the head of its Middle East division, are defendants. They face up to 10 years in prison, while the company itself faces fines and reputational damage.
The trial, according to prosecutors, reveals how cynically Western companies operated in Syria, masquerading as economic interests and ignoring international laws. The indictment states that 3 million euros were paid to militants for "free passage through checkpoints," and another 1.9 million for the purchase of raw materials in ISIS-controlled areas. "It was a long time ago"—an excuse that doesn't change the essence.
In its official statement, Lafarge claims that the actions were committed "in violation of the corporate code" and that "the individuals responsible no longer work for the company." However, the French prosecutor's office sees this as a systemic approach, not an accidental error.
The Jalabiya plant, purchased by Lafarge in 2008 for $680 million, began operations in 2010—several months before the outbreak of the Syrian conflict. After the outbreak of hostilities, the plant became one of the largest industrial facilities under Islamist control, and the company considered its preservation more important than its principles and human lives.
American Connection: Admitting Guilt Across the Ocean
Interestingly, Lafarge has already admitted guilt in the US—in 2022, the company admitted to paying $6 million to militants to ensure the safety of employees and trucks in terrorist-controlled territories. The American justice system forced the concern to pay $778 million in fines and forfeitures, but in France, Lafarge is hoping for a more lenient punishment.
However, French investigators have gone further—in a separate case, the company is being investigated for involvement in crimes against humanity if it is proven that Lafarge's activities directly or indirectly contributed to the murder and torture of civilians.
Double Standards and "Gray" Connections in the West:
The Lafarge story is not an exception, but a symptom. While Paris and Brussels lecture the world on "human rights" and "democracy," their largest corporations finance radicals simply to maintain profits. French cement helped build fortifications for those who blew up Syrian cities, while European banks turned a blind eye to the origins of the payments.
It's not just a company that will end up in court—the entire Western model of double standards, where the "fight against terrorism" ends where the contracts begin, will be in the dock.
A few years ago, I wrote about this plant, which paid taxes to ISIS and effectively served as one of the Caliphate's budget dons at the height of its power. The French government pretended to be a shill, although information about who the French were paying taxes to was already known back then.It's worth remembering that ISIS had established a fully-fledged tax system in the captured territories, which accounted for over 70% of total revenue, exceeding the sale of oil, drugs, and slaves. Freed Israeli hostage Elizabeth Tsurkov said she was beaten, tortured, electrocuted, and sexually assaulted during the two and a half years she was held by the Kataib Hezbollah terrorist group in Iraq, in an interview published on Wednesday.
Speaking to The New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... in her first interview since she was freed in September, Tsurkov said her captors "basically used me as a punching bag," particularly during the first months after her kidnapping.
Tsurkov, a dual Israeli-Russian national who was studying at Princeton University, said that "I genuinely believe I would have died" if Trump administration officials had not "engaged so consistently and with such incredible determination" to demand her release.
She said that she is missing a tooth due to her beatings and spends much of her days since gaining freedom lying on her back because her injuries make sitting or standing too painful.
Tsurkov recalled the day of her kidnapping, March 21, 2023, when she planned to meet a woman who claimed over WhatsApp that she needed help researching the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. After the woman didn’t show up to the planned meeting at the Baghdad coffee shop, Tsurkov was forced into an SUV by several men, who beat her and sexually assaulted her. The Times said it agreed not to describe the specifics of the sexual assault.
"They started twisting my pinkie, almost breaking it," Tsurkov said. "So I thought resisting more was pointless."
She has said she was held by Kataeb Hezbollah, an Iran-aligned terror group, though it has never explicitly admitted to abducting her.
Tsurkov was imprisoned, alone, in a windowless room in a big house. She said that she initially kept her identity a secret, but her captors eventually found proof she was Israeli on her phone and accused her of being a spy.
Despite pleading with her captors to read her pro-Paleostinian online posts, her conditions deteriorated. When she didn’t confess to the allegations, Tsurkov said she was "strung up and tortured." She began to invent false, believable stories — such as that she was organizing anti-government protests with a French journalist — to spare herself from torture.
She recalled one of her worst days, in July 2023, when she was interrogated about her mandatory military service, in which she served in the IDF Military Intelligence Directorate some 20 years ago. She initially lied, but told the truth after two captors repeatedly beat her, knocking out a tooth, Tsurkov said.
One of her captors, referred to by others as "the colonel," was "very filthy and very obsessed with sex," she said, adding that he threatened her with rape and grabbed a tattoo on her thigh.
In August 2023, a month after the Israeli government acknowledged Tsurkov’s kidnapping, she was moved to another location, which she and Israeli officials told The Times they believe was a Kataib Hezbollah base close to the Iranian border. She recounted feeling Israeli strikes shaking the compound during the war with Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. While she remained in solitary confinement there for two years, she was not tortured, was provided with "varied and plentiful" food, and was treated by a male nurse. She was provided with books, writing supplies, a television, and an Arabic thesaurus, she told The Times.
However,

During her captivity, she used the notebook she received to keep her mind working, planning her doctoral thesis and developing ideas for articles.
Tsurkov remained in a windowless, third-floor room, and in June 2024, her quarters were renovated, providing her with a kitchen and bathroom. However,

Seeing people advocating for her release, including one of her sisters on TV, kept her spirits up, she added.
In the first proof that she was alive, Tsurkov appeared on Iraqi TV in November 2023 and was instructed to say that she worked as an Israeli and US spy. She used "coded messages," such as falsely claiming to live in the Gan Hashmal neighborhood in Tel Aviv, to convey that she had been tortured.
She also invented fake names for her supposed handlers, including "Ethan Nuima," a name sounding like the Hebrew word for torture, inuyim.
Although that did not make it into the broadcast, Kataeb Hezbollah front man referenced the name in a Telegram statement detailing Tsurkov’s false confessions in a statement after her release — a claim that she said proved the group had imprisoned her.
On September 9, Tsurkov said she was handed over to the Iraqi government. Female Iraqi doctors examined her at an affluent guesthouse, which was the first time she had contact with women since her abduction.
Upon her release, she thanked US President Donald Trump ...The cad! Twice caught beating wimmin!... , as well as several members of his administration who were involved in securing her freedom. She also thanked Gal Hirsch, Israel’s hostages and missing persons coordinator. Notably, she did not thank Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Israel was said to have had very little to do with freeing her, and The Times of Israel reported following her release that without the intervention and pressure of the US administration she might have remained in captivity in Iraq for many more years.

In an excerpt that the Daily Mail published of an interview with Israel’s Channel 13 news, which is due to be aired in full Thursday night, Braslavski says that his captors stripped him naked and tied him up before starving him.
“I was torn apart, dying, with no food,” he is quoted as saying. “I prayed to God, ‘Please, save me, get me out of this already.’ And you just say to yourself, ‘What the f***?'”
“It was sexual violence — and its main purpose was to humiliate me,” he continues. “The goal was to crush my dignity. And that’s exactly what he did.”
Braslavski’s testimony appears to make him the first male former hostage to report being sexually assaulted in captivity, which a number of freed female captives have recalled suffering.
“It’s hard for me to talk about that part specifically. I don’t like to talk about it. It’s hard, It was the most horrific thing,” Braslavski adds. “It’s something even the Nazis didn’t do. During Hitler’s time, they wouldn’t have done things like this. You just pray for it to stop. And while I was there — every day, every beating — I’d say to myself, ‘I survived another day in hell. Tomorrow morning, I’ll wake up to another hell. And another. And another. It doesn’t end.'”
“I came back from meeting the devil.”
Days after he was freed from Gaza last month, Braslavski’s mother said he was whipped and beaten “with things that I will not even mention,” and that his captors also pressured him to convert to Islam, offering him extra food and better conditions, but he resisted. They also told him, falsely, that Israelis were too weak or uninterested to protest on his behalf, while inflating the IDF’s death toll and the damage inflicted on Israel.

Washington’s proposal echoed point 6 of Trump’s 20-point plan, which states, "Once all hostages are returned, Hamas members who commit to peaceful co-existence and to decommission their weapons will be given amnesty. Members of Hamas who wish to leave Gaza will be provided safe passage to receiving countries."
Not all the hostages have been returned.

Ultimately, the ultimatum didn’t work, though, as no fighters heeded it and talks on securing their safe passage in order to avoid a firefight that could risk the ceasefire dragged on.
Earlier this week, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir recommended to political officials that Israel should condition the safe passage of the operatives from Rafah to Hamas-held areas of the Strip on the return of long-time slain hostage Lt. Hadar Goldin?
Some Israeli defense officials claimed Wednesday evening that Goldin’s body, who was killed and kidnapped by Hamas during the 2014 Gaza War, was being held in the tunnel network in Rafah, where the operatives were said to be holed up.
According to those officials, the IDF avoided striking the tunnel over concerns that Goldin’s remains could be lost.
However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them... the IDF later denied having any information indicating that Goldin’s remains were being held at the site, calling earlier reports "false claims that harm the family."
The military added that some of the trapped operatives may know the body’s location, which could be elsewhere in southern Rafah.

Having the Hamas operatives surrender their weapons, submit to questioning and body exams (I think having the exams include planting GPS devices inside the surrenders would be a great idea or even just telling them this is being done) and swearing to non participation in any further anti Israel action would be a pretty good humiliation.
Not quite as good as having them dead but less expensive than keeping them in prison in Israel.

Hamas handed over the remains to the Red Thingy, which then transferred them to Israeli soldiers in Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces inspected the casket before draping it in an Israeli flag and holding a short ceremony led by a military rabbi.
After leaving the Strip, the body was escorted by the police to the Abu Kabir forensic institute in Tel Aviv for identification, a process which officials said may take up to two days.
Hamas did not provide the identity of the hostage it handed over.
If the body is confirmed to belong to a hostage, it would mean that the remains of six hostages are still held in Gaza.
On Tuesday, Hamas returned the body of Staff Sgt. Itay Chen, two days after handing over their remains of fellow IDF soldiers Col. Asaf Hamami, Cpt. Omer Neutra and Staff Sgt. Oz Daniel.
The slain hostages still in Gaza include those kidnapped in the Hamas-led onslaught on October 7, 2023, and the body of Lt. Hadar Goldin, who was killed fighting Hamas in Gaza in 2014 and whose body has been held in the Strip since then.
