[FoxNews] The FBI has already terminated employees and abolished the CR-15 squad just one day after it was revealed that several Republicans’ private communications and phone calls had been tracked.
FBI Director Kash Patel on Tuesday announced the actions the bureau had taken in response to the revelation of the "baseless monitoring" during the Biden administration and promised more actions to come.
"We are cleaning up a diseased temple three decades in the making — identifying the rot, removing those who weaponized law enforcement for political purposes and those who do not meet the standards of this mission while restoring integrity to the FBI. I promised reform, and I intend to deliver it," Patel said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
The CR-15 squad was the FBI’s Washington Field Office’s public corruption unit. The squad helped former special counsel Jack Smith investigate President Donald Trump, according to NBC News, which cited sources familiar with the matter.
On Monday, Fox News Digital learned that Smith allegedly tracked the private communications and phone calls of nearly a dozen Republican senators as part of his investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots.
A document, reviewed by Fox News Digital on Monday, revealed that Smith and his "Arctic Frost" team investigating Jan. 6 were allegedly tracking the phone calls of GOP Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Josh Hawley of Missouri, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Bill Hagerty of Tennessee, Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Tommy Tuberville of Alabama and GOP Rep. Mike Kelly of Pennsylvania.
The document, recently discovered by Patel and exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital, is titled "CAST Assistance" and dated Sept. 27, 2023. "CAST" refers to the FBI’s cellular analysis survey team. The case ID is marked in the document as "ARCTIC FROST—Election Law Matters—SENSITIVE INVESTIGATIVE MATTER—CAST."
Additionally, it states the names of the lawmakers and that an FBI special agent on Smith’s team "conducted preliminary toll analysis" on the toll records associated with the lawmakers.
An FBI official told Fox News Digital that Smith and his team tracking the senators were able to see which phone numbers they called, the location the phone call originated and the location where it was received.
A source said the calls were likely in reference to the vote to certify the 2020 election.

It’s not a suggestion. Accountability is not just about disciplining, firing or jailing low-level punks. Fire anyone that is trying to preserve the institution as well. The FBI is corrupt. [ZeroHedge] The Schumer Shutdown dragged through the weekend, with neither side budging. Republicans pushed for a straightforward continuing resolution to keep the government funded through November, but Democrats chose to hold the line for their wish list of radical spending priorities—billions and billions of dollars’ worth—and in doing so, shut the government down. The media has focused on their demand for free health care for illegal immigrants, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a lot more buried in this standoff that isn’t getting the attention it deserves.
Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) took to the Senate floor this week and laid out, in his trademark blunt and hilarious fashion, exactly what Democrats are trying to shut the government down over—and it’s every bit as ridiculous as you’d expect.
“Basically, President Trump just said, ‘We want you to take some stuff out of the budget that we think is wasteful,’” Kennedy began. “And we did — and that upset the congresswoman.”
That “congresswoman,” of course, is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who, according to Kennedy, went ballistic when Trump and congressional Republicans started cutting some of the more absurd Biden-era spending priorities.
Kennedy didn’t hold back as he read aloud what Democrats are fighting to restore.
“We found that under President Biden, they were spending $3 million for circumcisions and vasectomies in Zambia,” he said. “We took that out. The congresswoman says, ‘We’re gonna shut down government until you put that back in.’”
And that was just the beginning.
“We found $500,000 of American taxpayer money for electric buses in Rwanda,” Kennedy continued.
“We found $3.6 million for pastry cooking classes and dance focus groups for male prostitutes in Haiti. I kid you not. I’m not making this up. It was in the budget under President Biden.”
Kennedy went on to rattle off even more examples of this insanity:
$6 million for media organizations for the Palestinians.$833,000 for transgender people in Nepal.
$300,000 for a pride parade in Lesotho.
$882,000 for social media mentorship in Serbia.
$4.2 million for LGBTQI people in the Western Balkans and Uganda.

Republicans, Kennedy noted, stripped out each of these items as they tried to rein in wasteful foreign spending. But Democrats—with AOC and the “socialist wing” of the party leading the way—are threatening to shut the government down until every last one of those absurd expenditures is put back in.
“I could spend the rest of the afternoon here,” Kennedy said. “We took all that out. It upset Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez. It upset the socialist wing of her party. And now they’re threatening all other Democrats and saying, ‘You’ve got to shut that government down until we get what we want.’”
And that, Kennedy concluded, is what this entire budget fight is about—not defending American taxpayers or funding core government services, but holding the government hostage over millions in woke pet projects and bizarre international handouts.
The Schumer Shutdown didn’t happen by accident—it’s the result of Democrats choosing their woke agenda over citizens. Chuck Schumer made his priorities clear, and now the American people are paying the price.

I doesn't matter what the particular projects were.
The money wasn't actually going there anyway.
It was being given to NGO's and consultants to give back to politicians here. They create a revenue stream, drop tax dollars in, it circles around, and 90% of it magically ends up in their pocket.
Do you think they actually spent $30 billion improving things in Haiti? Did they have a bonfire?

FWIW - the Mayor, Governor, and local Media all together appear to be ratcheting up local anger almost daily now. With something like 100,000 residents (by one count) here illegally - that would be one-third Johnson's final vote total in 2023 - he has one heck of a base of support. Hard to tell how many of them vote ... but it's Chicago.
UPDATE: Karmelo Anthony, who is currently on house arrest for fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet, is enrolled in Morehouse College online classes and is reportedly studying criminal justice.

I would love to see Johnson and Priztker do serious jail time. However what are the chances of getting a jury to actually convict them and do we want to make them martyrs? Or even worse, get a definitive court ruling against Trump?

"By imposing rigid, one-size-fits-all durational limits without adequate justification, the Proposed Rule risks upending the lives of nonimmigrant visa holders and the businesses, universities, and communities that rely on them, while failing to advance any legitimate policy objective," the letter said.
According to a press release by the DHS, foreign students would be eligible for an extension period of up to 240 days, but no longer than the length of the temporary activity or assignment.
Homeland Security stated these actions are ending risks taken by previous administrations.
“For too long, past Administrations have allowed foreign students and other visa holders to remain in the U.S. virtually indefinitely, posing safety risks, costing untold amount of taxpayer dollars, and disadvantaging U.S. citizens,” said a DHS spokesperson. “This new proposed rule would end that abuse once and for all by limiting the amount of time certain visa holders are allowed to remain in the U.S., easing the burden on the federal government to properly oversee foreign students and history."
On Sept. 19, President Trump signed a proclamation imposing a one-time $100,000 fee for foreign workers coming to the country on H-1B visas. This could affect international students' job security after graduation. Before, the standard process would cost around $1,000-$3,000.
International students at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo face steep tuition costs, paying approximately $40,000 each year, including $11,000 in base tuition and fees plus a non-resident tuition fee of $396 per unit, alongside additional mandatory fees like $2,500 for health insurance and $300 for orientation.
These high costs allow the university to generate millions in revenue from international and non-resident students.
International students contribute $6.4 billion to California’s economy and support more than 55,114 jobs, according to the Association of International Educators.
“Our state thrives when students from around the world come here to learn, research and contribute,” said Bonta. “We urge the Department of Homeland Security to reverse this misguided rule and recognize that America is stronger and more economically vibrant when we attract the best and the brightest students from all over the world.”
Bonta is joined by the attorneys general of Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont and Washington in filing the letter.
