[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Celeste Rivas, the teen girl who was found dead in a Tesla belonging to the singer D4vd, was laid to rest on Monday.
Rivas, who was only 14 when her body was discovered dismembered and in a state of advanced decay, was surrounded by family and friends at Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Mortuary in Rowland Heights, California.
Her casket was seen being carried by mourners at the funeral service, which was held in a white tent on the cemetery lawn, in photos obtained by the Daily Mail.
The family appeared to be trying to keep the funeral as secret as possible by shielding it from view in the tent.
Mourners dressed in all black were seen with pained expressions and faces lowered as they carried Celeste's gleaming white casket while dressed in somber all-black.
Several funeral attendees were also seen carrying large flower bouquets to be left by the graveside.
Rivas' case has chilled communities through Los Angeles after her body was discovered in D4vd's front Tesla trunk after the car had been left abandoned near a Hollywood Hills home that the singer (real name: David Anthony Burke) had been renting.

[RedState] On Friday, we reported on what appeared to be a coordinated attempt to disrupt cellular phone services in New York City, including service near the United Nations building. This attempt involved many thousands of "Subscriber Identity Modules", or SIM cards, set up in several hundred SIM servers.
This is a serious matter; it's not just interfering with Sam's ability to text his buddy Joe to meet up for beers. This has the potential to disrupt emergency services, law enforcement, business, navigation, and much more. What's more, a nation-state actor is implicated, and indications are that it's China.
Now, things are much worse than initial findings indicate.

Note that ABC News is now reporting that this is a "China-linked plot that could have crippled every cell tower in the nation's largest city, jammed 911 calls, and unleashed chaos on communications networks." This could have disrupted communications over much of the New York metropolitan area. Maybe farther.
Secret Service personnel, along with officers from multiple agencies, seized hundreds of servers and over 100,000 cellphone SIM cards from around New York. Enough equipment to send 30 million anonymous texts every minute, which would collapse the telecommunications system.
They found empty apartments with servers and server walls capable of making millions of phone calls in and around New York City," said Donald Mihalek, an ABC News Contributor who was formerly with the Secret Service.
But this week, that number expanded. Law enforcement sources told ABC News that agents from Homeland Security Investigations found an additional 200,000 SIM cards in New Jersey.
These devices allowed anonymous encrypted communications between potential threat and criminal enterprises," said McCool.
The U.S. Secret Service is still working to figure out a motive and whether or not there was a specific target. It's also still not clear if the equipment was supposed to be triggered during the United Nations General Assembly, which took place in New York during the last full week of September.
So far, no arrests have been made but McCool did mention that forensic examination is underway. He also indicated there was cellular communication between foreign actors and individuals known to law enforcement.
If China is indeed implicated, the motive would appear to be clear enough: The disruption of communications and the flow of information, from private people, businesses, and government, over most of the area of our nation's largest city.
Which begs the question: are there more of these SIM farms in other cities?
[NYPOST] Pharmacy chain Rite Aid closed all of its locations after filing for bankruptcy twice in less than two years.
The retailer posted a brief announcement on its website.
''All Rite Aid stores have now closed,'' the site states. ''We thank our loyal customers for their many years of support.''
The website offers former customers their pharmacy and immunization history, as well as assistance with finding pharmacies that their prescriptions were transferred to.
The drugstore chain operated in the U.S. for more than 60 years. The company had opportunities to merge with Walgreens in 2017 and Albertsons in 2018, but rejected both, according to Investopedia.
Back in 1987, Rite Aid was the largest drug store chain in the U.S. with more than 2,000 stores, according to the financial media website.

A German mayor who was elected less than two weeks ago was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition after she was stabbed near her home.
The mayor-elect of the town of Herdecke, North Rhine-Westphalia, Iris Stalzer was found by paramedics in a critical condition on Tuesday before being airlifted to hospital for emergency treatment. The centre-left SPD local politician, who is a lawyer by trade, was stabbed multiple times in the upper torso but was apparently able to crawl back to her home, from where a call to emergency services was made.
Early reports state that a gang on multiple men were thought to have attacked Stalzer. German newspaper Die Welt now states that Stalzer’s 15-year-old adoptive son was led away by police in handcuffs, and that there may have been an earlier domestic incident involving an adoptive daughter and a knife earlier this year.
It is stated the two teenage adoptive children were the ones who called the emergency services to report an attack.
Police have made no definite statements on suspects, arrests, or motives at the time of publication.
Actors from across the political spectrum, including her own party and the conservative Chancellor Friedrich Merz, refrained from speculating on events or motive but condemned the act of violence in statements on Tuesday.
A 57-year-old adoptive mother of a son and daughter, aged 15 and 17 respectively, Stalzer is a labor lawyer who has worked for many years in the local politics of the town of some 23,000.
Police said on Tuesday evening that the teens, both minors in the German legal system, remained with investigators.
According to the Bild newspaper, Stalzer was found seriously injured in her apartment by her son.
The boy, 15, is said to have told the police that his mother had been attacked by several men on the street.
A WDR journalist had reported from the scene that a male teenager was led out of the house in handcuffs by the police and taken away.

[NewsMax] More than 2 in 5 drivers were driving while stoned when they died in car wrecks in a major Ohio county, a new study says.
Coroner records show that nearly 42% of drivers who died in motor vehicle collisions during a six-year period tested positive for THC, researchers are to report Tuesday at a meeting of the American College of Surgeons in Chicago.
The deceased drivers had an average THC level of 30.7 ng/mL — far above the 2 ng/mL to 5 ng/mL legal limit set by other states, researchers said. THC is the chemical in weed that produces intoxication.
“I was surprised to see that level,” lead researcher Dr. Akpofure Ekeh, a professor of surgery at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, said in a news release.
“An average level of 30.7 ng/mL generally means those people must have consumed marijuana at some time close to driving,” Ekeh said. “This isn’t about residual use; it’s about recent consumption.”
For the study, researchers analyzed death records from Montgomery County, Ohio, where Dayton is located. Medical cannabis was approved in Ohio in 2016, and recreational use in 2023.
The team focused on 246 drivers between January 2019 and September 2024 who were tested for THC following their fatal crash.
Of those drivers, 103 tested positive for THC. These blood tests are typically drawn within hours of death, providing an accurate snapshot of a driver’s state of impairment at the time of the crash, researchers said.
However, the 2023 legalization of recreational marijuana did not appear to change the rate of people killed driving while stoned, researchers found.
The rate of deceased drivers who tested positive for THC did not change significantly before or after legalization – 42% on average versus 45%.
“The messaging over the last few years has been just the push towards recreational legalization,” Ekeh said.
“The problem is that from a public health standpoint, there has not been enough emphasis on some of the downsides and the dangers that can occur,” Ekeh continued. “People should treat smoking marijuana just like they treat alcohol: don’t smoke and drive.”
