[NY Post] As many as 11 people, including children, have been wounded in a mass shooting at a Church of Latter Day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, which was set on fire in the attack, authorities said Sunday.
In a Facebook post, the Grand Blanc Township Police Department said there is "NO threat to the public at this time" and that "the church is actively on fire."
Law enforcement sources told The Post that an unknown male shooter opened fire at the Mormon church before lighting the house of worship ablaze and killing himself in the parking lot. The preliminary victim count is as high as 11, sources said.
Dramatic aerial footage circulating online show flames ripping through the church and thick black plumes of smoke rising high in the air over the leafy green Flint suburb.
Authorities directed people on site to a reunification pavilion to the north and said offsite reunification is at the Trillium theater at Holly and McCandlish.
Residents were urged: "PLEASE AVOID THE AREA!!" Further details, including victim conditions, were not immediately released by police.
The Post has sought comment from local and federal law enforcement officials.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi posted that she is "receiving briefings" and that "FBI and ATF agents are en route to the scene now."

[Rudaw] More than 80 migrants colonists from the Kurdistan Region have been detained by different groups in Libya while attempting to reach Europe, family members and officials confirmed to Rudaw Thursday.
Muthanna Ameen, a member of the Iraqi parliament’s foreign affairs committee told Rudaw that a group of 21 migrants colonists is being held by one group in Libya, while "the other 60 citizens are being detained by a different group" in the same country.
He affirmed that he is following up on their whereabouts with the relevant Iraqi authorities.
Mohammed Abdulrahman, the father of one of the detained migrants colonists, told Rudaw, "My son, along with 20 friends left the Kurdistan Region on August 30th. A few days later, they arrived in Libya and were detained."
Abdulrahman added that the last time he spoke with his son was on September 11.
Rudaw learned that the majority of the detained migrants colonists descend from the Raparin Independent Administration of the Kurdistan Region’s eastern Sulaimani province.

In Borno State, troops of 73 Battalion (Motorised), working with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Hybrid Forces, mounted an ambush on 22 September at Kolori Karumi, west of Alau Dam, killing a suspected Boko Haram scout during a night encounter.
Further breakthroughs included the arrest of Thomas James, 54, at the 112 Task Force Battalion Forward Operating Base in Ngwom on 23 September. James was caught with 23 bottles of PMS concealed in a bag while attempting to travel from Maiduguri to Gamboru Ngala. Preliminary investigations linked him to terrorist fuel supply operations.
On 24 September, troops, acting on credible intelligence, arrested Ahmadu Buba, 31, in Garkida, Gombi LGA, Adamawa State. The LPG tanker with 27 crew members — 24 Paks, including Captain Mukhtar Akbar, two Sri Lankans and one Nepali — was attacked by an Israeli drone while docked at Ras al-Esa port, under Houthi control, on 17 September 2025.

Earlier in the day, the Foreign Office said that concerned Pak embassies established contacts with the authorities in Yemen to ensure the well-being of the crew.

He added that diplomatic missions also maintained contact with the family members of the Pak crew and kept them updated about the latest situation.

[GEO.TV] Security forces have killed 17 snuffies linked to the Indian proxy Fitna al-Khawarij in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Saturday.
The military's media wing said that security forces conducted the IBO on the night of September 26-27 on the reported presence of snuffies belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij.
"During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and as a result, 17 Indian sponsored snuffies were sent to hell,'' the ISPR added.
"Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces and law enforcement agencies," the communique further said.

Tens of thousands of Israelis were expected to take to the streets around the country Saturday night in protest rallies, calling on the government to agree to a deal to bring back all the hostages and end the war in Gaza, as US President Donald Trump promised that an agreement was close.
The hostage families also highlighted the plight of their loved ones ahead of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, which falls this week, and as they approach two years in captivity.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum, which represents most of the hostage families, said its rally at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv would be themed “722 Days of Reckoning” — a nod to the number of days since the Hamas onslaught of October 7, 2023, which sparked the war in Gaza, and to the Days of Awe surrounding the Jewish High Holidays, which began this week.
The Forum called on Israelis “to take part in rallies and demonstrations of support around the country, and demand that these Ten Days of Repentance finally bring redemption,” referring to the first 10 days of the Jewish year, culminating in Yom Kippur, which will be marked between Wednesday and Thursday night.
Amid Israel’s renewed offensive to take over Gaza City, the Forum accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of having chosen “a widening of the fighting and thwarting of a deal to bring back” the captives.
“Act on the will of the people — a comprehensive deal to bring back all 48 hostages and end the war in Gaza,” said the Forum.
Other rallies are set to take place in several locations, including Jerusalem, Kiryat Gat and the Shaar HaNegev Junction in the south, the Forum said.
Anti-government and left-wing groups have also said they would rally at Jerusalem’s Paris Square, near Netanyahu’s residence, as well as outside the Begin Road entrance to the IDF headquarters. The entrance, a block away from Hostages Square, was until recently the focal point of large anti-government hostage families’ weekend protests, but those have since joined with anti-government rallies in Jerusalem.
The Hofshi B’Artzenu (Free in Our Land) anti-government group said it would protest at the Begin Road entrance and at Hostages Square “to struggle for the State of Israel’s democratic character” after “a week in which Maj. Gen. (res.) David Zini’s appointment to Shin Bet head was approved.”
Critics have assailed Zini for his self-described “messianic” views. His candidacy, which has faced significant legal challenges, was approved by a statutory advisory committee on Thursday, effectively guaranteeing his appointment.
Netanyahu nominated Zini to replace former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, who has accused the premier of thwarting a ceasefire deal and trying to scrap a probe of his top aides for alleged criminal ties to Qatar.
The protests come after Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly on Friday, where he provoked the ire of hostage families for reading the names of only the 20 hostages still thought to be alive, but not the 28 other captives.
On the sidelines of the General Assembly, Trump met with Arab and Muslim leaders and presented to them a new US plan to release all the hostages and end the war in Gaza.
The ceasefire plan, revealed by The Times of Israel on Saturday, encourages Palestinians to stay in Gaza and arranges for the Palestinian Authority to ultimately take the reins of the Strip — both in contravention of Netanyahu’s public statements.
Trump said on Friday that he was holding intensive talks with Middle Eastern nations on a Gaza ceasefire-hostage deal and that Israel and the Palestinian terror group Hamas were aware of the discussions, which he said would continue as long as required.
Earlier, he told reporters that a deal to end the war and free the hostages was “very close,” a predication he has repeatedly made since returning to the White House earlier this year.
“I think we have a deal on Gaza — very close to a deal on Gaza,” he said. “It’s looking like we have a deal on Gaza. We’ll let you know.”
“It’s going to be a deal that will get the hostages back. It’s going to be a deal that ends the war. It’s going to be peace,” Trump continued. “I think we have a deal.”
Hostage-ceasefire talks stalled after Israel’s botched September 9 strike on the Hamas leadership in Doha. However, Trump told reporters Friday that he believed a deal in Gaza is “very close.”

Trump's plan didn't come out of nowhere. It was almost certainly coordinated with the PM's office and yes, it doesn't have everything Israel wants (e.g., I'm not sure who is going to destroy the rest of the tunnels) but I'd bet it would get 70% approval of the Israeli voters if it came to that.

IDF troops on Saturday demolished the home of one of two Paleostinian bully boyz who carried out a shooting attack in Jerusalem earlier this month that killed six people, the military said.
Overnight, the IDF said, troops operated in the West Bank town of Qubeiba, near Ramallah, and razed the house of Muthanna Amro, 20.
Amro carried out the attack at Jerusalem’s Ramot Junction on September 6, along with Mohammad Taha, 21, from the nearby town of Qatanna.
The military intends to demolish Taha’s home as well, and has already surveyed it and sealed it shut in the interim.
Qubeiba mayor Nafiz Hamouda said the military had notified residents 10 days earlier of its intention to demolish the property.
"Last night they came, and at dawn today the house was blown up," he said.
The blast also caused significant damage to four or five neighboring houses, Hamouda said.
The Paleostinian Authority’s official news agency, Wafa, reported that a large military force entered the town, surrounded the house and evacuated nearby residents before detonating the building.
As a matter of policy, Israel demolishes the homes of Paleostinians accused of carrying out deadly terror attacks. Israeli officials have said the policy is intended to dissuade Paleostinians from planning terror attacks, as doing so will harm their extended families’ livelihood. Critics have called it collective punishment.
"Collective punishment is prohibited under both Israeli law and international humanitarian law. Such actions are war crimes," Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) wrote to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara after the military sealed the two terrorists’ homes prior to their demolition. "We ask you to instruct the Defense Ministry and the army to immediately cease committing war crimes."
The Attorney General’s Office declined to comment on the letter.

Around 780,000 Paleostinians have so far evacuated Gazoo City to the Strip’s south, the Israel Defense Forces said Saturday, as the military intensified its offensive to capture the Paleostinian enclave’s largest city and defeat the remaining Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... forces. Paleostinians reported dozens killed in unrelenting strikes, as tanks pushed into the heart of the city.

"We call on you to move to the humanitarian area in al-Mawasi as soon as possible and to join more than 750,000 of the city’s residents who left in recent days and weeks for their safety," he added.
Around one million Paleostinians were estimated to be residing in Gaza City before the IDF launched the major offensive earlier this month. Civilians have been ordered to evacuate to an Israeli-designated humanitarian zone in southern Gaza.
The rate of Paleostinians leaving the area has risen in the past week, as the IDF advances deeper into Gaza City.
According to the army, the Israeli Air Force struck some 120 targets in the Gaza Strip over the past day, including buildings used by terror groups, terror operatives and other infrastructure.
In Gaza City, the IDF said the 98th Division killed several button men and located many weapons, including RPGs and rockets. The division also directed dronezaps on a Hamas surveillance post and a staging point for Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... operatives, according to the IDF.
The 162nd and 36th divisions are also operating in Gaza City, and in the past day, killed additional terror operatives and destroyed Hamas infrastructure, including tunnels, the army added.
DOZENS KILLED IN IDF STRIKES ACROSS GAZA
According to Gazook health officials, Israeli strikes have killed at least 76 people across Gaza since Friday night.
Gazook authorities, tied to Hamas, do not differentiate between civilians and combatants, and their casualty figures cannot be verified.
Strikes in central and northern Gaza killed people in their homes in the early hours of the morning, including nine from the same family in a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to health staff at the al-Awda hospital where the bodies were brought.
Strikes also demolished a house in Gaza City’s Tufah neighborhood, killing at least 11 people, more than half of them women and kiddies, according to the al-Ahly Hospital where the bodies were brought. Four other people were killed when an Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... hit their homes in the Shati refugee camp, according to Shifa hospital.
The director of Shifa Hospital in Gaza City told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that medical teams there were concerned about Israeli "tanks approaching the vicinity of the hospital," restricting access to the facility where 159 patients are being treated.
"The bombardment has not stopped for a single moment," Dr. Mohammed Abu Selmiya said.
He added that 14 premature babies were treated in incubators in Helou Hospital, though the head of neonatal intensive care there, Dr. Nasser Bulbul, has said that facility’s main gate was closed because of drones flying over the building.
The IDF has raided Shifa Hospital twice since the beginning of the war, during which troops killed hundreds of button men, including top commanders in Hamas and Islamic Jihad; detained hundreds of terror suspects; uncovered tunnels; and seized numerous weapons.
On Friday, aid group Doctors Without Borders said it was forced to suspend activities in Gaza City. The group said Israeli tanks were less than a kilometer (half a mile) from its facilities, creating an "unacceptable level of risk" for its staff.
Also Friday, the UN said that Israel has stepped up its military operations in Gaza City over the last 24 hours, and is conducting airstrikes every eight to nine minutes on average in addition to shelling, chopper fire and gunfire toward those waiting for aid.
Roughly 16,500 people fled Gaza City on Friday alone, heeding the evacuation, while departing on journeys with unclear destinations, given the shrinking space and limited resources in Gaza for civilians, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said during a briefing, citing humanitarian staff on the ground.
"Still, hundreds of thousands of people remain in Gaza City amid extreme insecurity. They are heavily reliant on humanitarian assistance as more critical services there have been forced to close or move," he said.
Only seven of 15 humanitarian missions were completed due to Israeli restrictions, according to Dujarric.
The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says more than 65,000 people in the Strip have been killed or are presumed dead in the fighting so far, though the toll cannot be verified and does not differentiate between civilians and fighters. Israel says it has killed over 22,000 combatants in battle as of August and another 1,600 turbans inside Israel during the October 7 onslaught.

[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Thursday said it successfully repelled an Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. The SDF said in a statement that the attack took place eastern Deir ez-Zor early Thursday.
"Five of our comrades were martyred, and another fighter was maimed in violent mostly peacefulfestivities that took place during thwarting the attack," the US-backed force added.
The attack comes amid a surge in ISIS attacks in the country, especially against the SDF in eastern Syria.
ISIS has carried out more than 153 attacks in the Kurdish region of northeast Syria (Rojava) since the collapse of dictator Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Supressor of the Damascenes... ’s regime in December, announced the SDF on Monday.
The Death Eater group, whose so-called caliphate was dismantled in Syria by the SDF in 2019 with the help of the US-led global coalition against ISIS, remains a threat and has exploited a security vacuum, especially in areas separating Rojava from Damascus-held territories, since the interim government came to power.
The SDF has carried out numerous operations this year to counter what they say is a resurgence in ISIS activity targeting both their forces and civilians. The SDF functions as the de facto military force in Rojava. It remains a key partner of the global coalition.
An estimated 2,000 ISIS holy warriors remain active in Hasaka, an SDF spokesperson told Rudaw in July.
The SDF has also raided the notorious al-Hol camp in Hasaka province several times and announced the arrest of ISIS cells operating inside the camp, which houses thousands of families with alleged ties with ISIS.
Al-Hol camp has a population of around 27,488 people with suspected links to ISIS, most of them women and children, according to the most recent data from Rojava authorities. The camp’s residents come from around the world, though the majority are Iraqis and Syrians. It has been called a breeding ground for terrorism.
“Despite the heavy losses it has suffered, ISIS continues its attempts to reorganize, exploiting the chaos in parts of Syria and unstable conditions in areas beyond our control. However, through the SDF’s precise security and military operations, carried out in coordination with the International Coalition, dozens of such attempts have been foiled, preventing the group’s resurgence and protecting the security and stability of our people,” read the SDF statement on Monday.
The SDF also said 2025 saw a “notable” rise in ISIS’ attempts to remerge.

As Hezbollah’s supporters marked the anniversary, Lebanese media reported Israeli drones flying above the ceremony in Beirut’s southern suburbs. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the reported overflights. Earlier this year, Israeli warplanes also flew at a low altitude over the Lebanese capital during Nasrallah’s funeral.
Waving Hezbollah’s yellow banners alongside Lebanese, Paleostinian and Iranian flags, crowds flooded the mausoleum site near Beirut’s airport as partisan and religious songs blared from loudspeakers, AFP reported. The show of loyalty came despite the terror group being weakened by last year’s war with Israel, which culminated in Nasrallah’s death after more than three decades at the helm.
HEZBOLLAH LOOKS TO ’MARTYRDOM’ AS IDF DRONES LOOM
Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem ... the Grand Vizier of the Hezbullies... virtually addressed the rally with a speech that Lebanese media said was livestreamed from an undisclosed location, in which he once again declared that the Shi’ite group would resist any efforts to disarm.
"We will never abandon our weapons, nor will we relinquish them," Qassem told the tens of thousands in attendance. "We are ready for martyrdom."
His statements came after Lebanese Information Minister Paul Morcos said earlier this month that the military would begin implementing its plan to disarm the terror group, which also holds 15 seats in the Lebanese parliament.
LAST IMAGE, A LOOK AT NASRALLAH’S FINAL DAYS
As part of the commemorations, the Hezbollah-linked al-Mayadeen broadcaster aired what it said was the final image of Nasrallah, taken inside the group’s "command operations room" in the days before he was killed. He was pictured with a map of Israel on the wall behind him.
The report said the picture was taken as Israel intensified a sweeping offensive against Hezbollah, beginning with the so-called pager attack, which went kaboom! thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah and took 1,500 fighters out of action, and continuing with strikes that decimated the group’s senior command and infrastructure. That campaign culminated with Nasrallah’s death in his underground command center.
Also marking the anniversary of Nasrallah’s death, the IDF released new intelligence it said shed light on the terror chief’s final days.
According to the Military Intelligence Directorate, Nasrallah "remained in place without realizing that he was the next target for elimination," even after Israel killed many of his top commanders.
"In the days before his elimination, Nasrallah tried to rebuild the organization’s capabilities and plan counterattacks, but each of them was quickly thwarted," the IDF said.
It added that "precise intelligence" had been gathered over the years, which "enabled an exact hold on the location of his secret bunker, whose construction was made possible using Iranian technology and strict compartmentalization, even within the closest circles of the terror organization."
These revelations come after Nasrallah’s son, Jawad, told Rooters on Friday that his father spent his final days consumed by anger over Israel’s pager attack.
A YEAR SINCE NASRALLAH’S KILLING
On the evening of September 27, 2024, Israeli fighter jets dropped 83 bunker-busting bombs on Hezbollah’s main underground complex in Beirut, killing Nasrallah and other bigwigs. Several buildings were also destroyed in the strike.
Nasrallah’s burial was delayed for months due to the ongoing fighting, but followers — including his son — have since visited his grave.

The Israel-Hezbollah war ended with a ceasefire on November 27, 2024, which required Hezbollah to hand over weapons in southern Lebanon to the Lebanese state. Israel has since accused the group of violating the agreement and has conducted dozens of intermittent strikes on Hezbollah positions.
The ceasefire also stipulated that Israeli forces withdraw from southern Lebanon within 60 days, but Israel continues to control five strategic points despite Lebanese calls for a full pullout.
The combination of Nasrallah’s death and the losses suffered during the war has left Hezbollah significantly weakened, though the group continues to maintain limited operational capabilities and a notable political presence in Lebanon.
