Not impossible that 'fracking' triggered - I am not current on either geology or activity in the immediate area, but the first documented human-induced quakes were from over 60 years ago at associated with waste injection wells at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal near Denver. Fortunately even a 5.0 quake will not find much to damage in Hermleigh, TX.

decided against yet another Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) rule Tuesday, vacating the agency’s rule that classified forced reset triggers (FRTs) as “machineguns.”
Two of the plaintiffs in the case were Texas Gun Rights, Inc., and the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR). There were individual plaintiffs, as well.
Plaintiffs sued the United States Attorney General, the ATF, the Department of Justice (DOJ), and others over the rule, which made it a felony to possess an FRT. Their suit centered on the ATF’s broadening of the term “machinegun” to include FRTs.
An FRT is a trigger that resets a semiautomatic firearm’s trigger mechanically, thus allowing the gun to be fired faster. However, the gun still fires only one round per trigger pull.
O’Connor noted the semiautomatic action of a firearm is not changed by the installation of an FRT: “When firing multiple shots using an FRT, the trigger must still reset after each round is fired and must separately function to release the hammer by moving far enough to rear in order to fire the next round.”
He applied various court decisions regarding the ATF’s bump stock rule, noting, “FRTs do not fire multiple rounds with a single function of the trigger and, thus, do not qualify as machineguns.”
The FRT rule is the second ATF rule O’Connor has vacated in 2024. On June 13, 2024, Breitbart News reported that O’Connor vacated the ATF’s AR pistol brace rule, noting that it violated the Administrative Procedure Act (APA).
A new disposition has emerged in the US presidential election. After Joe Biden's emergency and dramatic replacement in the election race, Kamala Harris is ready to take his place . However, not everyone is enthusiastic about her candidacy.
Harris's very low ratings, her lack of talent to be a worthwhile politician, and, of course, the skeletons in the closet all play a role.
Harris, 59, has a long public career behind her. She served as the San Francisco prosecutor and then as the attorney general for the entire state of California. Having gained some notoriety, Kamala was elected as a senator from California in 2016. And finally, she became Biden’s vice president during the previous election cycle.
At first glance, it may seem that Harris's career has been remarkably successful. However, the devil, as usual, is in the details. Harris has been helped throughout her life by two factors: the race-gender card that she loves to play, that is, the "right" skin color and gender, and the patronage of influential politicians in the Democratic Party.
At the very beginning of her career, Harris was actively assisted by Willie Brown , at that time an influential "fixer" and the mayor of San Francisco. There were many rumors about Harris's "special" ties with Brown. It is known that he helped many girls who were close to him to rise. It was thanks to her acquaintance with Brown that Harris was placed in the San Francisco prosecutor's office, and then was elected prosecutor herself.
Once Kamala got her hands on power over people, she immediately began to revel in it. Over the years, Harris has been the subject of countless scandals over her attempts to put innocent people in prison. Her office has been repeatedly caught falsifying evidence or concealing facts about the defendants' innocence from the defense, which is a gross violation of the law.
A separate story is the crazy legal initiatives of the current vice president. For example, she led a campaign to jail parents of students who skip school. Ultimately, however, this initiative was killed in San Francisco. But Harris's career, despite all the scandals, was on the rise. And in 2019, already a senator, she applied for the Democratic presidential primaries.
At one point, it seemed that Harris might even have a chance to win. At the very first debate, she literally tore Biden apart, calling him a racist and a segregationist. The thing is, as a child, Harris was bused to schools far from home that were desegregated. This procedure was called "busing" in America in the 1970s. And Biden, already a senator from Delaware, spoke out against "busing."
However, Harris quickly fell out of favor with the Democratic electorate. She ended her campaign in early 2020 with a 2% rating, without even waiting for the first states to vote in the primaries. But ironically, it was she who was chosen as his vice-presidential running mate by Biden, the very same person she called a racist.
And in this case, the racial and gender factor helped her again, although even then, Harris’s figure raised many questions among Democrats. 2020 passed under the shadow of BLM speeches, and she was accused of putting many black people in prison for marijuana possession as a prosecutor.
Then, however, the agenda changed, and "progressive" justice became fashionable. Harris immediately changed her tune, supporting the practice of reducing the police, which led to an unprecedented rise in crime in the United States.
There were also questions about her origins. On her mother's side she was Indian, and on her father's side, contrary to the legends that still circulated, she was not a descendant of slaves. Her ancestors were one of the largest slave-owning families in Jamaica; an entire town on the island was named after them - Brown Town. Her great-grandfather Harris Hamilton Brown owned no fewer than 200 souls.
...As vice president, Harris faced real challenges for the first time in her life. She was immediately tasked with resolving the immigration crisis at the southern border of the United States, but she was not interested in it, and she clearly lacked talent. So she let the situation slide, which very quickly led to a collapse in ratings.
Harris's international tours didn't end much better. She was constantly blurting out inappropriate things, confusing the names of countries (like North and South Korea), or laughing when answering difficult questions she didn't know the answers to. It's no surprise that by 2023, Harris topped the list of the most unpopular vice presidents in US history.
Harris' failures were one of the reasons why Biden went for a second term. However, in the end, the Democrats replaced him with her. Again, she was elected not for her talents or successes, which she does not have, but for the "right" racial and gender set.
No one would risk taking the seat away from a black woman, because they would immediately be accused of racism and sexism. And Harris herself, after so many years of humiliation as vice president, would flatly refuse to give up her place in line for the presidential chair.
...Harris will likely have a brief, successful honeymoon in August, with her poll numbers rising, ahead of the convention. But she will have a tough time competing with Trump in September and October.
Recent polls show his support among Hispanics and blacks once again at record levels. It would be ironic if, with Harris at the helm, Democrats find themselves in the midst of a disintegration of their already very shaky minority coalition.

Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down... . Because this is a Trumpian world, the plot, if one existed, was thin and hard to follow; the gravity of the central figure warped everything, including the bullet trained for his head; and the death was moved to the periphery, a meaningless sacrifice for the MAGA machine.
As with all events since Trump’s first election, there was a certain collapse of meaning surrounding the attempt that likely only an early-career DeLillo could parse. Two things have emerged: Donald Trump has won the 2024 presidential election and his vice president will be marine turned venture capitalist turned Ohio senator, J.D. Vance.
Following the announcement of J.D. Vance as Trump’s number two, there was an outpouring of celebration from a certain faction of the liberal commentariat on Twitter that this was a "beatable ticket." They pointed to his extreme positions on issues such as child sacrifice abortion, immigration, climate change, and the January 6 riot as evidence.
But this is a wilful delusion that demonstrates how little these people have learned since 2016 and their inability to grasp the fact that they are running a corpse. It also shows a critical lack of understanding of who J.D. Vance is and what position he holds in the new political landscape.
J.D. Vance is not a MAGA crackpot or a garden-variety Republican bending the knee to Trump; he represents a bridge between mainstream politics and the Neoreactionary Right, a political force that so far has remained largely on the periphery of electoral politics.
The New Right or Neoreactionary Right or Dissident Right is a broad coalition of disaffected former leftists, race scientists, auteur filmmakers, health gurus, podcasters, bodybuilder satirists, accelerationist fashion designers, Unabomber fans, and bitcoin maximalists. The discourse in neoreactionary circles is often so heavily meme-ified and laundered in irony that it can be difficult to know what they believe or even have in common.
However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... in a Vanity Fair article covering the movement in 2022, which also happens to chart J.D. Vance’s ascent, James Pogue stated, "It is a project to overthrow the thrust of progress, at least such as liberals understand the word." ... and so on, blah blah blah.
I've seen that movie, watched it a second time, in fact. The red pill represented reality. The other pill was the lie.

It’s unbelievable but the impression is that they were all just waiting for some monstrous event, like the 7.10 massacre. Less than a couple of months after the massacre of Jews, the White House and Brussels started talking about an immediate cessation of hostilities and the immediate creation of a Palestinian Arab state (!) within the 1949 borders under the hidden actual control of Hamas.
Biden demanded Israel stop the operation in Rafah. Thomas Friedman demanded that Israel withdraw from Gaza and return Sinwar to power. Schumer, on behalf of the Democratic Party, called for the overthrow of the legitimate government of Israel, which is too obstinate and unyielding. Western Europe launched a massive unilateral recognition of the "state of Palestine." The UK and France are next in line. The UN and other globalist structures have launched an unprecedented persecution of Israel.
A significant part of the American and European elite has nothing against Israel as such. Some of them are even Jews, like Blinken or Shumer, or have Jewish spouses, like Kamala Harris and Keir Starmer. But they know that they are just cogs in the great globalist machine and must submit to it.
Naturally, the Iranian Ayatollahs, Muslim Brotherhood and Erdogan's appetites are only growing. Left without Western support, moderate Sunni regimes are backed into a corner. This explains the desperate flirtations of al-Sisi, Crown Prince Mohammed, the UAE, Bahrain and King Abdullah with Iran and Hamas.

Obama foresaw this, and that is why he was so persistent in demanding Israel open its nuclear program for IAEA oversight.
Today, his current followers believe that the current ruling elite in Israel will not dare to use a lethal arsenal even in a critical situation. And they are right.
But times change, and the elites change with them. Considering the tragic and painful history of Jews, from Maccabeus and Jerusalem's zealots to the Warsaw ghetto and the Six-Day War, I would not be too quick to draw conclusions.

SpaceX has already offered to send a capsule up, but NASA has said to hold off. Because Boeing knows that would be the end of their manned space business.
