So you Do know of what you POSTED = this "I shall not consent to be tried under a law in which my sex had no voice in making.” (Pearl Heart)
Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, Belle Starr, Pearl Hart: Toting guns, these women of the Wild West shot down the view that life as a female pioneer was about cooking, sewing, cleaning, and caring for children was the sole provence of pioneer women. Women of the American wild west had to be a resourceful lot to cope with the elements that surrounded them: the harsh conditions, lawlessness and living in an age where there were few amenities. Some women took to the gun as readily as any man and others made lives for themselves apart from dignified society." - RESOURCE FOR THE QUOTE - NOW - R D-S & T-P - we will await the response of the good readers of your platform -- The readers are out, their minds sharp, so in this small portion today - we can await their view - with this I smile 🙂

If somebody points a gun at me I think I must assume he/she/they can and will pull the trigger. Then I'd be dead no matter what sex or sexual persuasion the shooter was. The gun doesn't care. Didn't care in the Old Wild West and doesn't care today.
But regardless of the hat, sleeves or rough and ready appearance, this girl is not unattractive.

Flintlock pistol or a rifle with very short butt-stock, and a very long barrel?

My great great grandmother crossed the Isthmus of Panama in 1950 with five children in tow. Tucked into her belt was a pistol her husband who waited for her in San Francisco taught her to shoot. When she arrived she soon met the wife of John C. Fremont, who founded the Republican Party in San Francisco, and his wife could shoot as accurately as any man.

Linen shirt with a broad collar and flipped up cuffs, short jacket with shoulder detail, closed with lacing rather than buttons, probably beeches tucked into high boots — both dirty — oooold felted wool hat… she’s wearing what looks like clothes outgrown by a brother in the 17th century, which would match the pistol she’s polishing. Except it’s a photo, so perhaps an actress?
Duh, time travel!
Somewhat more seriously... you have a good eye, tw. I would have guessed some kind of historical re-enactment, but looking closer, she appears a bit too scruffy for that. My compliments to the costumers who, judging by the results, obviously don't work for a government agency.
To call it what is was, the SSL (Secured Socket layer (Port 443)) certificate had expired.
I went through the process of updating it through the Electronic Freedom Foundation's certbot program which provides free ssl for websites. Fortunately, Fred already had the executable installed, so the outage was only for about 90 mins or so.
And technically, the web server wasn't out, most of ya'll's browsers refused to connect to a non-ssl website.
The outage from 10 days or so ago, wasn't an outage: Fred lost his comms, but it was restored.

An SSL certificate (also known as a TLS or SSL/TLS certificate) is a digital document that binds the identity of a website to a cryptographic key pair consisting of a public key and a private key. The public key, included in the certificate, allows a web browser to initiate an encrypted communication session with a web server via the TLS and HTTPS protocols. The private key is kept secure on the server, and is used to digitally sign web pages and other documents (such as images and JavaScript files).
An SSL certificate also includes identifying information about a website, including its domain name and, optionally, identifying information about the site’s owner. If the web server’s SSL certificate is signed by a publicly trusted certificate authority (CA), like SSL.com, digitally signed content from the server will be trusted by end users’ web browsers and operating systems as authentic.
An SSL certificate is a type of X.509 certificate. Digicert.com

[SUDANTRIBUNE] The al-Dinder Emergency Room in Sennar State, southeast Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... , reported Sunday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have seized agricultural equipment, seeds, and fertilizers from villages in the region, raising concerns about the potential failure of the upcoming agricultural season.
The RSF took control of al-Dinder on July 1st but was briefly ousted by the Sudanese army. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried... the RSF swiftly recaptured the city on July 5th, forcing the army and its allies to retreat to Gedaref State.
In a statement to Sudan Tribune, the Room accused the RSF of using "intimidation, beatings, and killings" to confiscate tractors and equipment from farmers across al-Dinder locality. An estimated 200 tractors have been seized and are reportedly being stored in the villages of al-Farish and Kamrab, west of al-Dinder. These villages are primarily inhabited by members of the Rizeigat tribe, the same tribe from which many RSF leaders and soldiers hail.
The Room further alleges that the RSF has looted agricultural seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides from villages and storage facilities, jeopardizing the upcoming harvest. They also claim that Kamrab and al-Farish have become operational bases for the RSF, used for launching raids and storing stolen goods from al-Dinder and its surrounding villages.
Al-Dinder is home to approximately 200 villages that rely on herding, trade, and agriculture. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried... many residents have fled due to RSF violence, including killings, looting, sexual violence, and forced displacement. The ongoing lack of electricity, water, and communication services, combined with soaring prices for essential goods, are exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
Last Saturday, the Emergency Room warned of a rising corpse count among vulnerable populations, including those with chronic illnesses, the elderly, and children, due to the closure of hospitals and health centres damaged in the conflict.

South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... ese army assistant commander-in-chief, Yasir al-Atta, declared on Tuesday that the armed forces will not negotiate with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) even if the conflict continues for a century.
This declaration comes amidst UN-sponsored indirect talks in Geneva between the Sudanese government and the RSF, focusing on the deteriorating humanitarian situation.
Speaking at a promotion ceremony for officers and soldiers of the Engineering Corps in Omdurman, al-Atta stated, "There will be no negotiation, no truce, even if the war lasts 100 years." He argued that negotiating with the RSF would merely postpone the conflict and exacerbate political, military, and security issues, hindering Sudan’s progress.
Al-Atta emphasized the army’s commitment to continuing what he termed the "war of dignity" until the surrender of RSF fighters and their collaborators. He dismissed claims of tribal support for the RSF, asserting that no tribe would endorse the "devil’s actions" of violence and abuse attributed to the paramilitary group.
"We stand with the will and decision of the Sudanese people, whose interest lies in the elimination of the RSF," al-Atta declared.
Since mid-April 2023, Sudan has been engulfed in a devastating conflict between the army and the RSF, originating in the capital Khartoum and spreading to vast areas of Darfur, Kordofan, Al Jazirah, the White Nile, and Sennar regions.
The escalating conflict has resulted in countless deaths and displaced over ten million people, raising alarms about an impending famine due to the lack of humanitarian aid reaching those affected.

"We stand with the will and decision of the Sudanese people, whose interest lies in the elimination of the RSF," al-Atta declared.
There is no such thing as a Sudanese person. There are Fur, Massalit, Hadendowa, Beja, Nuba, Lagu, and a score of other ethnic minorities. When al-Atta talks about the struggle he is talking about his Arab ethnicity which is being moved back into a smaller and smaller part of the Sudan. Without outside support soon, the Arabs will be done.

South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... ese army and its allied forces have intensified military operations around the Jabal Moya area in northern Sennar state, aiming to regain control of this strategic area.
Jabal Moya, a series of hills located on a key national road linking the states of Sennar, Al Jazirah, and the White Nile, lies approximately 300 kilometres southeast of Khartoum and 30 kilometres west of Sennar city.
In June, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) seized control of Jabal Moya, which had served as the army’s main defence point for Sennar state. From this position, the RSF launched attacks and captured Singa, the state capital, as well as al-Dinder, Ad-Dali, and al-Mazmum, leaving the army with only the city of Sennar.
According to field sources speaking to Sudan Tribune, the army has advanced toward Jabal Moya from the White Nile state to the west to reclaim this vital area.
Recapturing Jabal Moya is crucial for the army to prevent an RSF siege of the White Nile and Blue Nile states, as well as the cities of Sennar and al-Manaqil in Al Jazirah state.
The RSF currently maintains a siege on the White Nile state, bordering South Sudan, with forces stationed in three locations: Um Rawaba in North Kordofan state to the west, al-Qattinah locality in the White Nile state to the north, and Jabal Moya in Sennar state to the east.
The same sources indicate that the army regained control of Jabal al-Dud within the Jabal Moya hill range last week and has since expanded eastward, capturing Jabal al-A’war, a location closer to Jabal Moya.
Reports suggest that on Monday, the army attacked Jabal Saqdi and areas surrounding Jabal Moya, west of Sennar city. They successfully combed the surrounding areas, inflicting losses on the RSF in terms of both personnel and combat vehicles.
The army has also cleared villages in the foothills of Jabal Qara, Sidi, and al-Tal’a, bringing them closer to Jabal Moya along the national road connecting Sennar and Rabak in the White Nile state.

Chios Lion, a Liberia-flagged oil tanker was struck on its port side on Tuesday
Assault was part of a swarm of attacks by Houthis on ships in the Red Sea around 100 nautical miles northwest of Yemen's port city of Hodeidah
An unmanned watercraft is said to have carried out the attack, though only minor damage has been reported.
In the aftermath of the incident, officials are assessing the damage and investigating a potential oil spill, the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) said on Tuesday.
'While originally headed south, following the attack the vessel turned around and back north out of the threat area to further assess damage and investigate potential oil spillage,' the JMIC said in a statement.
It added that the captain and crew were safe.
The manager of Chios Lion did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Yemen's Houthis said they targeted Chios Lion and Bentley I with ballistic missiles, drones and booby-trapped boats.
[EN.ROYANEWS.TV] At least 15 people were killed and more than 65 were maimed late on Sunday, in an attack carried out by jihadist organization Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... on two villages in Nigeria, The Washington Post reported.
According to Rooters, the gun attack took place near army barracks in Bale Shuwari.
On the other hand, 13 snuffies were pronounced dead by the Nigerian army.
Earlier last week, the government said that it was in talks with Boko Haram to agree to a ceasefire, however, it did not mention any factions or elements in particular.
In February, 20 people were killed and dozens injured in a crowded fish market in Nigeria, after three jacket wallahs attacked the market located in the Nigerian city of Maiduguri.
Boko Haram continues to carry out terrorist bombings in Borno State and other cities in Nigeria, in an attempt to establish an Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... . The group kidnaps women and often uses youth as suicide bombers.

Gaza civil defence front man Mahmud Bassal said the three air strikes killed at least 44 people and maimed dozens within an hour across the war-torn Paleostinian territory. Israel confirmed it carried out two of the strikes.
The health ministry said a strike on a fuel station in al-Mawasi in southern Gaza killed 17 people, and the Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy said a separate strike at almost simultaneously hit the UN-run al-Razi School in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing five people.
The civil defence agency said the third strike was on a gathering of people near a roundabout in northern Gaza, but did not provide a breakdown of casualties.

The Israeli attacks on Tuesday hit the UN's al-Razi school in the central Nuseirat refugee camp and a main street lined with market stalls in the southern al-Mawasi area, where thousands of displaced Paleostinians had sought shelter.
At least 25 people were killed in al-Razi while 17 were killed in al-Mawasi, Gaza's Government Media Office said. More than 70 people were maimed in the attacks.
A third Israeli attack on Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza also killed five more Paleostinians, officials said.
The bombing of al-Razi is the sixth Israeli attack on schools affiliated with the UN and its agencies in the past 10 days.
Video footage verified by Al Jazeera’s fact-checking agency Sanad showed a young man carrying what appear to be remnants of the rockets that targeted the school.
"I cannot describe the scene from the horror of the bombing," he said. "But I'll try..."

[GEO.TV] Lebanese official media said separate Israeli strikes Tuesday in south Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... killed five people including three Syrian children, with Hezbollah announcing rocket fire at Israel in retaliation.
"Three Syrian children" were killed "in an enemy raid that targeted farmland in the village of Umm Toot", the National News Agency (NNA) said.
It also said an "enemy" dronezap had targeted a cycle of violence on the Kfar Tebnit road elsewhere in south Lebanon, killing two Syrians.
A Lebanese security source, requesting anonymity as they were not authorised to speak to the media, told AFP the two Syrians were "civilians" who worked nearby and had been swimming in the area.

I wonder if the Lebanese Arabs understand that the world considers them a joke. In every report from the south there is a report that three or more Arab children were killed. The world comprehends that Arab reporting, like Arab civilization, is meaningless.
