I will not call these ladies loafers--
"We will!" creak their weary sofas.
"Lolling round in frilly cuffs..."
"Why don't these gals get off their duffs--"
"And do the dishes--"
"Take some classes--"
"Spare us poor upholstered masses!"
Swoons and fits! A thousand ouches
From a thousand grouchy couches!
Doink! A shriek. A sudden spring.
One ottoman begins to sing.
[MAIL] Surveillance footage caught the shocking moment a New York City bodega worker allegedly stabbed a customer to death, after the man violently confronted him about the price of some snacks.
Video shows the employee - 51-year-old Jose Alba - sitting behind a counter at the Hamilton Heights grocery store, tending to customers on Friday night.
A man then pushed Alba into a shelf and appears to confront him, before yelling at another customer trying to purchase something.
He pulls Alba up out of the chair, at which point Alba reaches to the right toward shelves displaying an assortment of candy, and pulls out a large knife, which he allegedly plunges into the man's neck and chest at least five times.

People get all freaked out about guns and fail to understand that you can still die from a flint tipped spear or sharpened stick as much as you can from a gun.

If you come across the video, take a moment, dude half his age has him trapped in a corner, throws him into a shelf where he bangs his head, and continues to have "customer" assault him.
DM makes it out like they were having an unpleasant discussion about record profit margins when Jose dirks him in the neck.
Heh, 'to the point'.
I thought the name Fairbairn was familiar, as in the Sykes-Fairbairn pattern knife. The gentlemen himself seems to have been quite the bad-ass, a one-man RAB if you will.
[ZERO] Police claim a tip from a concerned citizen foiled a planned mass shooting at an evening July 4th celebration at a packed Richmond amphitheater.
Now, 52-year-old Julio Alvardo-Dubon and 38-year-old Rolman A. Balacarcel sit in the Richmond city jail, each initially charged with being a non-U.S. citizen in possession of a firearm. Both are Guatemalans in the United States illegally, and it's been claimed at least one has already been deported multiple times.
Suggestive. Vicious criminal or straight up gangster?
Apparently reflecting the fact that he was only charged with illegal possession, Alvardo-Dubon's bond was set at just $15,000, and it isn't clear if he's already been released, according to the Associated Press. There's no report yet of Balacarcel's bond.
“The Fourth is over, so he won’t be thinking about doing it again until the next major American holiday with parades — Thanksgiving, probably.”
At a Wednesday afternoon press conference, Richmond police chief Gerald Smith credited a "hero" citizen who called police after overhearing a conversation about a planned mass murder at the city's July 4th celebration at Dogwood Dell, a 2,400-seat amphitheater in the city's Byrd Park.
"There's no telling how many lives this citizen saved with one phone call," Smith said. The tip came in on July 1. That same day, police proceeded to a residence on the 1000 block of Columbia Avenue.
Smith said Alvarado-Dubon consented to police entering without a warrant. "Once inside that residence, they saw evidence in plain view that corroborated the witness's statement," said Smith, who later specified that the evidence was "firearms in plain view."
Under advice from the Department of Homeland Security, police arrested Alvarado-Dubon for being an alien in possession of a firearm, and seized two assault rifles, one handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
Richmond police then put surveillance on Balacarcel, whom Smith described as Alvardo-Dubon's roommate. On July 5, police concluded they had probable cause to arrest Balacarcel on the same charge, and did so near Charlottesville, Virginia.

[Garowe] A man who was convicted by Italian authorities for allegedly killing two Italian journalists only to be released later has died in Mogadishu, the Somalia capital, following a kaboom believed to have been triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device [IED].
Hashi Omar Hassan died on Wednesday in Dharkaynley district, southern Mogadishu after unknown individuals attached the IED to his vehicle, abruptly ejecting him from the gene pool. No group is yet to take responsibility but al-Shabaab ...... Somalia's version of the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... , functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... hard boyz are known to activate such attacks.
He was released from an Italian prison 18 years after his conviction following the 1994 death of two renowned journalists. The court had sentenced him after finding "sufficient evidence" on his hand in the death of Ilaria Alpi and Miran Hrovatin.
Throughout his time in prison, he insisted on his innocence, leading to his surprise release by Italian authorities. His trial was one of the most followed court episodes internationally, with Hashi often accusing prosecutors of bias in their unprecedented findings.
Before his release from prison, prosecutor Dario Razzi told the court Hassan "did not commit" the crime he served 16 years in jail for. He was the only person convicted of the murders. "If it is true that Hassan was convicted, we must also have the courage to admit that he may be innocent," Razzi said.
The al-Shabaab hard boyz in Somalia usually target security forces, government officials, and innocent civilians. In most cases, they kill those who don't support their ideologies or those believed to be spies of the military forces within the Horn of Africa nation.
Although the group is yet to take responsibility, such murders are associated with it for the last 15 years. The former prisoner has reportedly been living a quiet life in the capital Mogadishu until he met his unprecedented death on Wednesday.
Currently, the government has heightened the war against al-Shabaab with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud saying he's keen to ensure the hard boyz are defeated. On Tuesday, he hinted at future negotiations between the government and the krazed killers.
[AlAhram] Two United Nations ...boodling on the grand scale... peacekeepers from Egypt were killed and five others seriously maimed when their vehicle hit a landmine planted by suspected jihadis in northern Mali on Tuesday, the U.N. said.
The deadly attack comes just days after the renewal of the mandate of the U.N. Mission to Mali, known as MINUSMA.
"This morning, an armored vehicle of a MINUSMA logistics convoy hit a mine on the Tessalit-Gao road,'' the mission announced in a blurb.
"According to an initial report, two peacekeepers shuffled off the mortal coil and five others were seriously maimed as a result of the attack,'' the statement added.
"The victims are all Egyptian nationals,'' a U.N. official told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, insisting on anonymity because he is not allowed to speak to the press until the U.N. informs the families.
Ten U.N. peacekeepers have been killed in Mali since the beginning of the year.
First deployed in 2013, the mandate of the U.N. mission in Mali to help battle against Islamic hard boy rebels was renewed last week although the Malian government said it will not support the mission's aim to promote and safeguard human rights One man's rights are another man's existential threat. Russia and China abstained from the French-drafted U.N. resolution, which extends the mandate of the mission until June 30, 2023, with its current ceiling of 13,289 military personnel and 1,920 international police.
More than 270 peacekeepers have died in Mali, making it the U.N.'s deadliest peacekeeping mission, according to U.N. officials.

[DW] Gunmen ambushed Kuje prison near Nigeria's capital city of Abuja, freeing around 600 of the nearly 900 inmates late Tuesday. Bandits attacked the maximum-security prison with guns and high-grade explosives. One security officer was killed during the raid and three others were maimed.
Half of the escaped prisoners are now back in police custody, according to officials.
"They have reported themselves to the police, some we have successfully retrieved from the bushes where they were hiding, and (as of) now we have retrieved about 300 out of about 600 that got out of the jail cells," said Shuaib Belgore, who serves as the permanent secretary at Nigeria's Interior Ministry.
Belgore pointed to Boko Haram ...the name means Western education is forbidden, They're what you get as the result of a traditional African or Islamic education... as collaborators in the attack and said that the button men came "specifically for their co-conspirators."
"Some of them are in the general (prison) population so they broke out and other people in that population escaped as well but many of them have returned," Belgore said. Kuje prison housed 64 suspected members of the Boko Haram krazed killer group — all of whom are still on the run.
While the Kuje prison raid was the first to occur in the capital, rebels have conducted several similar jailbreaks in northeastern Nigeria.
REBELS ATTACK PRESIDENTIAL CONVOY
The attack occurred around the same time as an ambush carried out by rebels on a presidential convoy. The motorcade was en route to the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari in northern Nigeria. Buhari was not present at the time.
"Attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and security personnel accompanying the convoy," a presidential front man said in a statement.
The two incidents underscore growing security concerns in Nigeria. Extremist violence is a primary security challenge for Africa's most populous country. Violence carried out by Boko Haram and an off-shoot group calling itself "Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... Central African Province" has caused more than 35,000 deaths and displaced over 2 million people in Nigeria, according to the UN.

[IsraelTimes] Video said to show blindfolded Paleostinians led through street by troops near Ramallah; military holds drill near Hebron
A Paleostinian man, Rafiq Riyad Ghannem, 20, was shot and killed by Israel Defense Forces fire close to the northern West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday morning, the Paleostinian Authority health ministry said.
The IDF said in a statement that troops were carrying out an operation in the town of Jaba’ to detain an individual suspected of involvement in terror activities, and that he was shot as he tried to escape.
"During the operation, the force initiated arrest procedures, which included shooting, for a suspect who beat feet from a building," the military said.
The IDF said troops provided medical treatment to the suspect, but he was later declared dead.
Despite the military’s assertion that the "circumstances of the case are clear," no further information was provided as to whether the suspect was armed or posed a threat.
Army Radio said that Ghannem’s body was being held by Israeli authorities.
Ghannem’s death came three days after 17-year-old Paleostinian Kamel Abdullah Alawneh, shot by Israeli soldiers during festivities also in Jaba’ over the weekend, died of his wounds. According to both military and Paleostinian media accounts, Alawneh was shot while clashing with Israeli troops who set up a checkpoint at the entrance to the village. The IDF said a Paleostinian hurled a Molotov cocktail at the soldiers, who fired at the suspect in response. The Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase.... Fifty Paleostinians have been killed since late March across Israel and the Paleostinian territories, including attackers or individuals clashing with troops, suspected Lions of Islam and innocent bystanders.
Over the same period 19 people — the majority of them Israeli civilians inside Israel — have been killed in terror attacks, mainly by Paleostinians. Three Arab Israeli attackers have also been killed.
Wednesday’s Jaba’ clash took place as 24 wanted Paleostinians suspected of terror activities were arrested by Israeli security forces during raids across the West Bank overnight, the IDF said. Weapons were also seized and festivities broke out in a number of locations.
The military said 14 people were detained in Silwad, near Ramallah. Video circulating on social media purported to show a number of men wearing blindfolds being escorted by Israeli troops through a street in the village.
The reported shooting and arrests came as the IDF kicked off a military exercise in the area surrounding Hebron. The military said that the exercise, set to end Wednesday afternoon, was pre-planned as part of its training program.
On Tuesday, the IDF said troops were targeted in a drive-by shooting near a checkpoint by the entrance of an illegal outpost in the northern West Bank.
According to the military, troops returned fire but the vehicle expeditiously departed at a goodly pace. No Israeli injuries were reported. The military launched a manhunt for the button men.
Last week, three Israelis, including a senior IDF officer, were lightly hurt after Paleostinian button menshot up Joseph’s Tomb on the outskirts of Nablus, while Jewish worshipers were visiting the site.
[IsraelTimes] Yitzhak Dahan, 47, says assailant passed him on pedestrian bridge outside city, assaulted him from behind with metal object
The Shin Bet security agency said on Wednesday that a Paleostinian man who allegedly attacked and seriously hurt a Bnei Brak resident a day earlier had been arrested.
Early Tuesday morning, Yitzhak Dahan, 47, was maimed in a suspected terror attack on a pedestrian bridge between the ultra-Orthodox city and neighboring Givat Shmuel. His condition has since improved.
The Shin Bet did not say where or when the suspect was arrested and further details relating to the attack were barred from publication due to a court-imposed gag order.
Dahan told Channel 12 news on Wednesday that he passed the alleged assailant at the entrance to the bridge as he saw him reaching into a bag. "And after a few seconds, he came up behind me and inflicted blows on my head with something, probably metal," Dahan said.
Citing unsourced assessments, Channel 12 said the weapon could have been a hammer or an axe.
Dahan was taken by medics to the Tel Hashomer hospital in Ramat Gan, which said he was suffering from a wound to his head.
The suspected terror attack came following a string of deadly incidents between mid-March and the beginning of May that left 19 people dead.
The most deadly attack — in which five people were killed — occurred in Bnei Brak.
[Shafaq News] The deputy head of the United Kingdom's mission in Iran, Giles Whitaker, and a number of other diplomats were detained by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on claims of spying and taking samples of soil from a "prohibited area" during a missile exercise, Iranian media reported on Wednesday.
Video footage released by the IRGC claimed to show the deputy ambassador near a site where the IRGC was conducting missile exercises at the time. The deputy ambassador has since apologized and been expelled, according to the reports.
One of the suspects detained by the IRGC had entered the country as part of a scientific exchange with a university. The report claimed that one of the suspects was from the Nicolaus Copernicus University, adding that the university is "associated with the Zionist regime." The IRGC claimed that the suspect sampled soil in some areas.
The IRGC claimed that diplomats are often used to look for military sites and identify equipment and munitions. The report also claimed that the diplomats were being used in order to build a new case concerning the "military aspects of Iran's file in the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)."
The claims come as talks between Iran ...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence... and the world powers to attempt to return to the JCPOA nuclear deal remain stalled.
The US has complained that Iran has brought new demands unrelated to the JCPOA deal to the table, while Iranian officials have complained that the US is not willing to lift sanctions before a return to the deal.
US special envoy for Iran Robert Malley called recent indirect talks in Doha a "wasted occasion," saying that Iran "needs to provide an answer" on the issue, in an interview with NPR on Tuesday.
Malley stated that Iran is "much closer" to having enough fissile material for a bomb, but had not resumed it weaponization program. The special envoy added that it would take Iran "a matter of weeks" to make a nuclear weapon. "It would be something that we would know, we would see and to which we would react quite forcefully, as you could imagine."
The UK Foreign Ministry denied a claim by Iranian state media on Wednesday that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards detained a British diplomat and other foreign representatives over accusations of spying.
It was not immediately clear if the diplomat and other foreigners were currently or previously detained. Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency reported that the foreigners had been arrested, but did not say when or whether they were currently in jug.
The news outlets said the deputy head of mission at the British Embassy, Giles Whitaker, and other foreigners faced "spying" charges after visiting various forbidden areas in the country while the Guard was carrying out ballistic missile tests. The semi-official Fars news agency, believed to be close to the Guard, claimed that Whitaker was expelled from the country after apologizing.
Britannia’s Foreign Ministry described the reports that a diplomat was expelled as "completely false."
