[Townhall] Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) joined the chorus of liberals who voiced their disappointment in the Supreme Court ruling 6-3 in striking down New York's "may issue" of conceal carrying handguns.
The conservative justices made it clear the Second Amendment is not a "second class" right and it applies to firearms beyond muskets or other weapons when it was adopted due to the fact other rights are not restricted to the 1700s.
Lightfoot told MSNBC the decision is "not surprising" and it further "undermines the legitimacy of the court" because the ruling was "tone deaf" since the Senate is about to pass a bipartisan gun control bill.
She’s pounding the table — Mayor Lightfoot worked as a partner in a private law firm before going into politics. She knows the US Supreme Court can only rule on cases resulting from existing law. Should the current bill be passed into law and signed by the president, then a case can wind its way up to the Supreme Court for judgement.
"We were part of an amicus effort on behalf of a number of states in support of the New York law and really focusing on the importance of the federalism, but unfortunately, given the composition of this court, we’re not surprised they struck down the New York law. But I think they give an ample opportunity for New York and other states to pass other laws that are going to make common sense restrictions on gun use, particularly people displaying weapons in public, which itself is a threat," Lightfoot said.

I have a neighbor who is so far in the tank they took kid pics off the fridge to hang up Obama.
Come election, there is an issue which, as I understand, reaffirms Kansas' ability to determine abortion laws. They have a sign in their yard, and without irony, "Keep you hands off of our rights!"
Many years ago I was going to ask my sister (as Left as you can go and a frothing Trump hater to the bone) how she reconciled: 'No Death Penalty!!1!!' with 'Abortion'. The talk crash and burned when she hotly demanded that it was "Right. To. CHOOSE!" ...*Sigh* I decided at that point a rational discussion was impossible.
[THEFEDERALIST] President Biden really does not want the public to know about his federal takeover of election administration. Dozens of members of Congress have repeatedly asked for details, to no avail. Good government groups, members of the media, and private citizens have filed requests under the Freedom of Information Act. Not a single one has been responded to. All signs indicate a concerted effort to keep the public in the dark until at least after the November midterm elections. The lack of transparency and responsiveness is so bad that the Department of Justice and some of its agencies have been repeatedly sued for the information.
When President Biden ordered all 600 federal agencies to "expand citizens’ opportunities to register to vote and to obtain information about, and participate in, the electoral process" on March 7, 2021, Republican politicians, Constitutional scholars, and election integrity specialists began to worry exactly what was up his sleeve.
They had good reason. The 2020 election had suffered from widespread and coordinated efforts by Democrat activists and donors to run "Get Out The Vote" operations from inside state and local government election offices, predominantly in the Democrat-leaning areas of swing states. Independent researchers have shown the effect of this takeover of government election offices was extremely partisan and favored Democrats overwhelmingly.
At the time the order was issued, Democrats were also hoping to pass H.R. 1, a continuation of the effort to destabilize elections throughout the country via a federalized takeover of state election administrations.
Biden gave each agency 200 days to file their plans for approval by none other than Susan Rice, his hyperpartisan domestic policy advisor. Yet fully nine months after those plans were due, they are all being hidden from the public, even as evidence is emerging that the election operation is in full swing. Paraphrasing Reagan....
"JB is from the Government and here to help.... run"

I have very little confidence in this clown administration doing anything properly or correctly. They will most likely shoot themselves in the foot after an all-nighter drinking binge.

It does explain their continued actions to destroy this country in the face of so much public opposition. They don't care - they don't have to. They feel confident about "the fix".

here's a fun spitballing exercise in conspiracy theory that will surely never actually happen.
I am paying close attention to the recent emergence of counter-indicative reporting that says the "Red Wave" is really just a ripple as there are only a few really at risk seats, a slight House shift right and an actual Senate pick-up for the D's of 2-4 seats. The tone and opinion is entirely oriented to lessening any expectations of significant course correction in our governments policies.
This counter narrative is a necessary precursor to obscure awareness of massive voter fraud and if the fix is to be successful they must lay a predicate to undercut expectations for the public. The more I see this kind of propaganda becoming mainstream the more I will tend to believe they have confidence the steal will work again.
Most importantly, if the counter-narrative becomes very mainstream, it also signals that there will likely be significant, clandestine "counter-revolutionary" surveillance ops for possible preemptive action prior to the actual election.
I sure hope I'm wearing a tin-foil hat about this...

You only need to "fix 3-4 states to rig a Presidential election. They will not be able to rig all 50 states in November. What they will do is target some of the newcomers for co-option. Unfortunately, some state GOP organizations are sending people who will be ripe to be blackmailed outright or manipulated because they are weak.

NoMoreBS, I fear you are correct, the groundwork is in progress to make the cheating plausible. And many Republicans (e.g. Kemp) will assist the Democrats.

The thing is, these establishment RINOs can do this and have almost zero consequences. The red wave is already happening and most people will forget by 2024.
Don't forget. Hang them with there own hubris in the primaries two years from now.
[Red State] Joe Biden has been busted with cheat sheets in the past. But the one that photographers caught him with on camera on Thursday might just be the worst yet. Biden was delivering a few remarks to the press about the Federal-State Offshore Wind Implementation Partnership.
Yes, everyone uses notes sometimes. But these notes were something else. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this. They weren’t just "notes" about what he was going to say or the subjects that he needed to cover. They were a list — made up by someone else — that told him what to do, that treated him like a five-year-old child, directing him how to act during an event—even when to sit.
Given all the evidence that JB has mental / brain impairment issues, where are the demands to start the 25th process?
Is it because according to section 2 of the 25th that would make Harris the President ?
Where then, Harris could then nominate her own VP, who could take office once that person is confirmed by a simple majority vote of both Houses of Congress.
Now... Imagine AOC, Hillary, Maxie-Mouth Waters, Stacy Abrams, Obama, Ms. O, Butt-a-Peg ☺ as possible nominees

If he does well, they reward Joe with an ice cream. This means, effectively, the person writing the note card is in charge. We didn’t elect the card guy. Most likely, we didn’t elect Joe either.

Such a political veteran should not need meet and greet notes.
I'm still under the impression that the members of the OAS dinner were under explicit orders not to make social contact with Mr. Pudding.

Hey olberdouche. If ya don't loke the 2nd amendment get congress to change it, then get the senate to ratify it, and then get a president to sign it. But first, pull your head out of your ass.

The irony is, he would be one of the first ones put against a wall and shot by the very arms he wanted to keep out of the hands of the people that would have prevented that.

^ Yeah, they want a Left Constitution but (1) They could never agree on its provisions. We have the Constitution we have because some very wise people made some very difficult compromises, and the Left don't do compromises. (2) Any Left Constitution they did agree on would be unacceptable in a month or two as new forms of leftism gain currency, e.g., guaranteeing the right of "minor-attracted persons". Maybe their best option is Calvinball.

Thank Heavens the Founders didn't have to worry about alphabet people, gerbil worming, reparations or china love while they crafted the finest document of governance ever written.
It's pure shame to every gummint framework that has emerged since then that they are all inferior because they tried to cut corners and kiss ass.

the left is freaked out because the abortion decision means the ladies out there in blue states will realize nothing changed, and so abortion will no longer be an issue that can generate Democrat turnout and funds.
The left is freaked out with the gun decision because if violent crime (rape and murder) go down they will be proven wrong and will have to come up with some nonsense to not look foolish.
