Up from the South, at break of day,
Bringing to Winchester fresh dismay,
The affrighted air with a shudder bore,
Like a herald in haste to the chieftain's door,
The terrible grumble, and rumble, and roar,
Telling the battle was on once more,
And Sheridan twenty miles away.
"A tattoo? Sure, I'll give it a crack,
Though no one will see it but Jack,
Till death do us part!
Er... how soon can you start?
Put 'Shine on, Harvest Moon' on my back!"
[FoxNews] Houston police uncovered dozens of people trapped in a home on Chessington Drive after responding to a reported kidnapping call, authorities said Friday.
Police said they received tips Thursday that prompted an all-night investigation that eventually led investigators to the home on Friday.
"When we got into the house we realized that there were over 90 people inside," Assistant Chief Daryn Edwards told reporters.
The department's SWAT team entered a house at 12210 Chessington Drive and the kidnapping investigation soon became a "disturbing" human smuggling case, Edwards said.
Property records show the address contains a 2,319-square-foot home with five bedrooms and two baths. Neighbors told police they were unaware that so many people were inside. It was being rented to a single man.
Multiple people inside reported possible coronavirus symptoms including fevers and loss of sense of smell.
"We are concerned that there may be some positive COVID cases inside the house," Edwards said.
Police called in the health department to screen for possible COVID-19 cases and were weighing quarantine options as the victims received medical care inside the house.
They also provided food and water.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says one in four victims of human trafficking or modern-day slavery are children – and the majority of forced laborers, including forced sex workers, are women and girls.
Houston police found only five females at the home on Friday and the rest were males, Edwards said. None of the victims were children.

[ToloNews] The continuation of festivities between Afghan forces and the Taliban ...Arabic for students... in at least six districts of Kandahar has changed into a big concern for residents of the province who say the group is trying to transfer its hubs from Pakistain to the southern province by mounting their attacks on government forces.
Heavy festivities have continued in Kandahar between government forces and Taliban over the last few months. According to local officials, of 17 districts, Maiwand, Shah Wali Kot, Afghanistan, Zherai, and Panjwai are faced with a high level of threats.
"People cannot visit their farms. People cannot look after their property due to the conflicts," said Ataullah, a resident of Zherai district in Kandahar.
"We cannot go to our areas. Children cannot go to schools due to the conflicts," said Ali Ahmad, a resident of Zherai district.
"The Taliban is trying hard to choose Kandahar as their hub. Previously, their key commanders were in Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... ," said Karim Atal, an MP from Kandahar.
According to local officials, the security of Shah Wali Kot district of Kandahar is mostly under threat from Uruzgan and Zabul province while security in Zherai district is faced with security threats from Zabul and Uruzgan provinces.
The Afghan National Army special forces commander in Kandahar, Brigadier Gen. Haibatullah Alizai, said the Taliban is trying to change the southern provinces into their hub, but they will not be allowed by Afghan forces.
"There is an environment for their recruitment in south and southwest where they are supported financially by drug trafficking and it is their biggest interest," Alizai said.
"They (Taliban) are helped from another side of the (Durand) line, that’s why they did a try, but they were heavily defeated," the acting minister of defense, Gen. Yasin Zia, said.
The Afghan government has said that at least 1,100 Taliban were killed only in Arghandab district in Kandahar in recent festivities.
[ToloNews] Seven civilians, all relatives of a security force member, were killed in an attack by gunnies in Khinjan district, Baghlan province, on Thursday evening, the Khinjan district governor Abdul Nasir Rasikh said.
He said the attack was carried out by the Taliban ...Arabic for students... on a house belonging to a security force member in Walian Valley in the Khinjan district.
The district governor said that all victims are civilians and were young men who were relative to the soldier.
Rasikh said that two Taliban were also killed in the incident.
According to him, the soldier has fled from the area following the attack.
[Al Jazeera] A powerful suicide truck bombing struck a guest house in eastern Afghanistan on Friday, killing at least 21 people and wounding as many as 91, the Interior Ministry said.
No one immediately grabbed credit for Friday’s bombing in Pul-e-Alam, the capital of Pashtun-infested Logar province, and there was no indication as to why the guest house was targeted.
To terrorize the populace and demonstrate the incapability of Afghan government forces to protect them, one assumes.
There were fears the corpse count could rise.
That is the safe way to bet on such things.
In Afghanistan, guest houses are lodgings often provided for free by the government, usually for the poor, travellers and students.
The attack came on the eve of the official date set for the start of the final withdrawal of US and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure.... troops from Afghanistan. The Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... , who had demanded that all US troops pull out of Afghanistan by May 1, have not offered any guarantees for the safety of the departing troops.
The blast struck just as guests were breaking their fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan, according to the head of Pashtun-infested Logar’s provincial council, Hasibullah Stanekzai.
He said among the casualties were high school students who had been staying at the house, having travelled to the picturesque provincial capital to sit their university entrance exams, as well as pro-government militia members who were staying there while waiting for air transport to another district.
A ministry of health front man said dozens of people had been taken to hospital, some in a critical condition.
At least 25 people were killed and over 60 more were wounded after a car bomb attack happened near a guesthouse owned in the city of Pul-e-Alam east of Kabul on Friday evening, the provincial council chief Hasib Stanekzai said.
He said the explosion happened at around 7:06 pm.
He said the truck entered the area at around 6:30 pm and its driver said they were from an NGO and wanted to help the locals.
Another reason might be to make Afghans mistrust NGOs...
He said that the building has collapsed and that at least 25 people have been trapped only in one floor.
He said that the blast happened near residential houses and a hospital that all have been damaged in the incident.
Meanwhile, ...back at the saw mill, Scarface Al had tied Little Nell to the log and was about to turn on the buzz saw... the Ministry of Interior said that at least 30 people were killed or maimed in the earth-shattering kaboom.
At least 30 people were killed and efforts are underway to rescue people trapped in the rubbles. The corpse count did increase...
Media outlets in Kabul reported at least 70 people were also injured in the incident, and some other local media outlets reported that more than 90 people were maimed.
No group or individual has grabbed credit for the attack.

[Al Jazeera] Tens of thousands of people have fled the town of Palma in northern Mozambique following attacks late last month that killed dozens of people, the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... has said.
The United Nations refugee agency, UNHCR, said on Friday that approximately 30,000 people fled Palma since the fighters linked to ISIS (ISIS) raided the coastal town on March 24.
UNHCR front man Babar Baloch said the agency was "deeply concerned by the humanitarian consequences of the rapid escalation of violence" in northern Mozambique, voicing particular concern about "the safety and wellbeing of the most vulnerable among the displaced, including women and kiddies".
The raids late last month marked a significant intensification in violence that has wreaked havoc on Cabo Delgado province for more than three years as the fighters seek to establish a caliphate.
The violence pushed La Belle France's Total to suspend work on a nearby multibillion-dollar gas project.
"Those who fled have faced significant barriers trying to reach safety both inside the country and while attempting to cross borders," Baloch told news hounds in Geneva.
'RIGHTS ABUSES' Conflict in the region has "resulted in grave rights abuses, the disruption of critical services and severe impact on civilians, particularly children", Baloch said.
Equally concerning, he said, was the separation of families.
"Hundreds of children have arrived traumatised and exhausted after being separated from their families. Many others have come with their mothers."
Baloch said those escaping violence were arriving with "no belongings, often with health issues including injuries and severe malnutrition".
Cabo Delgado has been battered by a bloody rebellion since 2017 by a group known locally as al-Shabaab ...... an Islamic infestation affiliated with the Islamic State that has been plaguing northern Mozambique, not to be confused with the al-Qaeda-affiliated bunch plaguing Somalia... The violence has killed at least 2,600 people, according to the US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data (ACLED) project, and the UNHCR says more than 700,000 have been displaced.

The Russians celebrating May 1st (Formerly International Worker's Day in the USSR; since 1992 it is called the Day of Spring and Labor) with Islamic publishing house arrests?
[SHAFAQ] German prosecutors have charged an Iraqi immigrant with membership in a terrorist organization on allegations that he raised thousands of dollars for the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group (ISIS), authorities said Friday.
The man, identified only as Aymen A.-J. in line with German privacy laws, was arrested in early January on Germany's border with Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... as he allegedly was headed to link up with the organization, intending to fight in Syria or elsewhere, federal prosecutors said.
The man came to Germany from Iraq in 2016 during a wave of migration, primary from the Middle East.
He began to get interested in Islamic State ideology by the end of 2018 and joined the bad boy group no later than the beginning of 2020, according to prosecutors.
German prosecutors alleged A.-J. originally wanting to travel to the Mideast to take part in "armed jihad," but members of group told him to put off the plan and stay in Germany to raise funds.
Between June and September 2020, he transferred at least $12,000 in multiple transactions to the Islamic State group in Syria and Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... The funds were used to support female sympathizers in Syrian refugee camps and to finance smuggling the women back to the Islamic State group, prosecutors said. The money sent to Lebanon was intended to help get Islamic State fighters out of prisons and facilitate their return to the group, they alleged.

[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Toward the end of the video, the narrator says: "Ted, we are asking for the last time that you resign. If you ignore this message outright, the destruction to your precious way of life is going to escalate. Blood is already on your hands, Ted. And next time it may just be your own."
Toward the ending sequence, an address tied to Wheeler is shown on the screen. A laugh plays at the same time.
The account that uploaded the video Wednesday was created on the same day. Twitter user "@Hazeee1312" was the first person to follow the account and to share the video to Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... networks. "1312" is the numeric coding for "ACAB" — all cops are bastards.
User "@Hazee1312" was the first person to promote the video and to follow the obscure newly-created account, "@knotathreat"
@Hazeee1312’s profile photo showed a person wearing the same stylized white mask as the person in the video threat. Within hours of sharing the video, @Hazeee1312 deleted his entire account, which was created back in 2013.
TPM can report exclusively that the @Hazeee1312 account was operated by far-left journalist, Jarrid Bailey Huber. The 21-year-old from Damascus, Ore. has been a staple at Antifa protests and riots in Portland and elsewhere in the U.S.
Jarrid Bailey Huber’s now-deleted Twitter account featured a photo of him wearing the same mask that was used in the Antifa death threat video
Huber’s Facebook page is filled with flyers advertising BLM-Antifa events. His now-deleted Twitter account also shared krazed killer content from Antifa accounts. On Wednesday he also briefly shared the video on his Facebook but quickly deleted the post. A February 2020 post by Huber used language against Wheeler similar to what was said by the narrator in one part of the video.
When reached for comment, Huber denied having any involvement in the video.
"I had nothing to do with this video, I was asked to share it and that is all I did," Huber wrote in an email.
Jarrid Bailey Huber met with Wisconsin BLM leader Frank David Sensabaugh (right), who was later arrested and charged with rape
When asked who asked him to promote the video, he responded, "an anonymous person." Huber then said he did not give permission for his name to be used in this report and refused to answer further inquiries.
Wheeler’s office sent TPM the following statement: "The Police Bureau has opened an investigation into the threat."
Additionally, FBI Portland’s spokesperson Beth Anne Steele released the following statement:
"The FBI is aware of the video and is assisting Portland Police Bureau in the investigation. Due to the on-going nature of the case, we have no further information to release at this time. Anyone with information as to the person or people responsible for this video are encouraged to contact the FBI or PPB. The FBI can be reached at (503) 224-4181 or via tips.fbi.gov."
Huber is the latest journalist to be linked to or arrested over far-left extremism. Earlier this month, University of Oregon journalism student Alma Yesenia Raven-Guido was charged with multiple felonies over her alleged role in carrying out arson attacks during Antifa rioting in Portland. The same week, Miguel Louis Lofland, who calls for political violence on his social media, was arrested in Olympia, Wash. at an Antifa riot. He was wearing a homemade "Antifa News Network" press badge at the time. In December 2020, journalist Renea Baek Goddard was indicted in Little Rock, Ark. following a months-long ATF investigation. She’s accused of Molotov cocktailing police cruisers at BLM riots last summer.

[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... 's Supreme Court of Appeals has upheld a 2018 prison sentence against the former co-chair of the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Selahatin Demirtas, the pro-Kurdish Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reported on Friday.
The four-year-and eight-month prison sentence was originally handed to Demirtas in 2018 for a speech he made during Newroz celebrations in 2013, where he commemorated the liquidation of three Kurdish activists in Gay Paree, which Turkey deemed to be "making propaganda for a terror organization."
The ruling was upheld by the supreme court on Monday, the same day a trial began against the "Kobane protesters." Demirtas is also a defendant in the trial.
More than a hundred people are being tried in Ankara for their alleged role in violence at 2014 protests against the army's inaction during the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) group's takeover of the Syrian Kurdish town of Kobane.
More than 30 people died, and over 700 were maimed when the protests turned violent mostly peaceful.
Demirtas has been held in jail since November 2016 for his alleged links to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), considered by Ankara to be a terrorist organization. He faces up to 142 years in jail.
"The fact that the Supreme Court approved this decision on April 26, when the Kobane conspiracy trial started, shows that the decision is a part of the liquidation attacks carried out by the judiciary against our party and our elected officials," HDP Legal and Human Rights Commission co-chair Umit Dede said in a statement.
He described the decision made by court as "null and void."
In December, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ordered Turkey to release Demirtas, saying it found several human rights ...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions... violations in the case of his detention.
Ottoman Turkish president His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important... dismissed the ECHR ruling as "hypocritical" and political.
[Rudaw] Ankara will establish a new military base in the Metina area of Duhok province to block the movement of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters in the area, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... ’s interior minister told members of his party, according to media reports.
"The operations in northern Iraq will continue. Metina region is an important place. Just like we did in Syria, we will establish bases and control the area," Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said during a closed meeting of his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), pro-government Turkiye news outlet reported on Friday.
"This region is a route to Qandil and we will control this line," he added, referring to PKK headquarters in the Kurdistan Region’s mountains.
In northern Syria, Turkey and its proxies have conducted three military operations in since 2016 against Kurdish fighters it claims are linked to the PKK. It now controls a stretch of Syrian territory along its border.
Last week, the Ottoman Turkish military launched new operations against the PKK in the Kurdistan Region. The Metina area, on the border, is the focus on Operation Claw-Thunderbolt, and Operation Claw-Lightning targets the Avashin and Basyan areas further east.
Metina is a strategic area for the PKK and the presence of Ottoman Turkish military bases there will limit their movement between Qandil and Syria, as well as between the Kurdistan Region and southeastern Turkey.
Local Kurdish officials have warned that Turkey has made advances in both operations, deploying troops to within three kilometers of Kesta village. Intense festivities have terrified villagers and forced families to flee their homes.
The PKK is an armed Kurdish group that has fought the Ottoman Turkish state for decades, seeking increased rights of Kurds. Ankara considers it a terrorist organization and a threat to its national security. It frequently sends fighter jets, attack helicopters, drones, and ground troops across the border to fight the group.
Last July, Ottoman Turkish presidency’s Directorate of Communications published a map claiming to have established 37 "military points" on the Kurdistan Region side of the mountainous frontier and in the urban centres of Erbil, Duhok, Zakho, and Soran. Ottoman Turkish officials do not usually make such information public and the map was quickly removed.
A total of six Ottoman Turkish soldiers have been killed in this latest incursion, including two announced by the defence ministry on Friday.
[SHAFAQ] A group of snuffies intended to target security forces and civilians in Diyala Governorate were arrested by Iraq’s Intelligence and Investigations Agency.
The Intelligence announced on Friday that 11 snuffies were arrested in the areas of Abu Saida, Bani Saad, and al-Abbara" in Diyala governorate.
The snuffies were trying to target the security services and citizens with bombs and snipers
According to the statement, the forces seized publications that glorify the Baath Party.
[SHAFAQ] A source in Nineveh reported on Friday that fighters in Sinjar Resistance® Units raided a security headquarters of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, west of djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... The source informed Shafaq News Agency that the fighters attacked several soldiers in the headquarters, arrested an intelligence officer, and took him to an unknown destination.
Oh dear.
The attack, as by the source, came against the background of arresting two loyalists of the Sinjar Resistance® Units, after an bomb they were making detonated prematurely, injuring them.
Why are they making bombs?
He pointed out that after they were maimed and transferred to a hospital in Mosul, before an intelligence force investigated and decided to arrest them. The units tried to pressure the security authorities to release them by arresting the intelligence officer, but they failed to do so.
The source confirmed that a security force is present at al-Jumhoori Hospital, awaiting the defendants’ recovery, to arrest them and complete the investigation.

[IsraelTimes] Spokesperson says assailant tried to carry out attack with broken bottle shard near settlement of Efrat; suspect at death's door
A Paleostinian man tried to carry out a stabbing attack in the West Bank, and was maimed when he was shot by an officer on the scene, police said Friday.
The incident came amid rising tensions over the postponement of the Paleostinian elections, as well as unrest surrounding the holy month of Ramadan.
A spokesperson for the police said the suspect was walking quickly toward an officer and an Israel Defense Force soldier while holding a broken glass shard near the Efrat junction, south of Bethlehem.
Police said the suspect was told to stop but continued walking in the direction of the officers.
"The police officer responded by firing and neutralizing the terrorist," the spokesperson said.
No Israeli soldiers or civilians were maimed in the attack.
Medics treated the suspect on the scene before taking him to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem at death's door, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Tensions in Jerusalem, specifically around its Old City, were high in recent days after police prevented people from congregating outside Damascus Gate during Ramadan, which critics said was an inflammatory move that obstructed a long-held tradition of gathering at the site during the holy month. Authorities later canceled the policy.
Additionally, in the West Bank over the past week, hundreds of Paleostinians have marched toward Israeli checkpoints on a nightly basis, leading to festivities.
The IDF is said to have also bolstered its forces in the West Bank during the month of Ramadan, in case of violence stemming from the postponement of the Paleostinian elections.

[NPASYRIA] On Thursday night, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested a cell affiliated with ISIS in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.
The SDF Media Center published confessions, including by the cell leader, who talked about their activities in Raqqa city during the last period.
The operations carried out by the cell included targeting a military vehicle, public properties, and a number of vital facilities in Raqqa.
According to the confessions, the cell received financial support and military instructions directly from the so-called "al-Shayib" who lives in al-Bab city, in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, which is under Ottoman Turkish-backed gangs.
Several days ago, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) found a warehouse for the manufacture and storage of explosive shells and improvised bombs in the al-Karama area, 30 km east of Raqqa.
In mid-April, the SDF arrested a cell belonging to ISIS in Raqqa which was planning to carry out "sabotage operations" during the month of Ramadan.
