That pic looks "enhanced" by corset trussing or photo touch-up. If you look closely, there appears to be a white line along the left hand side of the photo (Grace's right side). The white line could result from trimming the photo. None-the-less, Grace aka Stella Parsons had an exotic quality about her.

It *could* just be a blown-out highlight from a light on that side
Remember, the photographers flash was most likely an explosive powder in this era which lit up a pretty sizeable area (unless some sort of baffle was used).
More likely it was a problem with the actual development process of the acetate negative. The acetate medium was still a pretty new technology in the early 1900's.

WHo cares abiut the sides? It's the front and back that hold the interest.
[KhaamaPress] Media outlets reported on Wednesday that a joint military base of Afghan and foreign troops was hit with a Taliban ...Arabic for students... rocket on Tuesday.
According to a released video in which a Taliban front man confirms that the Taliban fired rockets at an old airport in Khost province ... across the border from Miranshah, within commuting distance of Haqqani hangouts such as Datta Khel and probably within sight of Mordor. Khost is populated by six different tribes of Pashtuns, the largest probably being the Khostwal, from which it takes its name... , the group claimed that the attack has left heavy casualties to the Afghan forces stationed in the base, media reported.
In a statement by security force members in Khost also confirmed that Talibs targeted the coalition base.
The statement added that the Taliban fired off rockets at the military headquarters of coalition forces in Khost by violating the Doha agreement.
Taliban attack on coalition bases indicates that the group is not committed to peace, the statement read.
However, a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... KPF claimed that the missiles did not hit the base but a residential area close to the coalition base.
Meanwhile, ...back at the barn, Bossy's udder had begun to ache... two military members and a member of the National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... were assassinated in separate attacks in Kapisa and Sar-e-Pul ...a city and eponymous province in northern Afghanistan, population about 500,000. Demographically it is majority Tadjik and Uzbek. There are small Pashtun, Arab, and Hazara communities, of which the Hazaras mostly don't bother anyone... provinces.
On Tuesday night Khwaja Atiqullah an NDS member and his cousin were killed in Hese Dowom-e-Kohistan ...a backwoods district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distinguished by being even more rustic than is the norm among the local Pashtuns.... district in Kapisa province, local police told media.
In the second incident during the early Wednesday morning, a local army vehicle struck a roadside kaboom in which two security force members including Habibullah, the commander were killed and two others were reportedly injured.
The incident happened in Aaba village of Sayad district in Sar-e-Pul province.
No group including the Taliban grabbed credit for both of the attacks.
[KhaamaPress] Dozens of Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... fighters have been killed in operations by Afghan National Defense and security forces in several provinces, the Ministry of Defense stated on Wednesday
MoD stated that 74 Taliban fighters had been killed and 38 others maimed in the past 24 hours as a result of operations conducted by ANDSF.

[ToloNews] Colonel Faridoon Fayaz, the commander of 203rd Thunder Corps' central command, was killed in a Taliban ...Arabic for students... ambush and one of his bodyguards was maimed on Wednesday morning, a military corps official confirmed.
The incident occurred on the Pashtun-infested Logar- Paktia highway while Col. Fayez was on his way to his office and the Taliban attacked his car, the officials said.
[ToloNews] At least two civilians including a child were killed and 16 others, including three soldiers, were maimed in a blast in Balkh district of Balkh province on Wednesday afternoon, said Adil Shah Adil, a front man for the provincial governor.
The blast occurred around 1:00 pm local time in the Bandar-e-Koloft area in the center of the district after a mine which was placed in a cart went kaboom! in the area, said Adil.
"The maimed have been taken to the hospital for treatment and most of them were maimed slightly," he said.
However, those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things... no group including the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... has grabbed credit for the blast.
[ToloNews] Mawlawi Abdul Samad Mohammadi, head of the northern Takhar province’s Ulema Council, was killed and three more were maimed in a magnetic IED blast on Wednesday afternoon, said Khalil Aseer, a front man for the provincial police chief.
The incident occurred around 1:30 pm local time in Taluqan city, capital of the province, when a magnetic IED went kaboom! against Mohammadi's car, Aseer said.
"Three other people were maimed in the blast," he said, adding that an investigation is ongoing.
No group including the Taliban ...Arabic for students... has grabbed credit.
President Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money... in a statement condemned the blast in Balkh that targeted civilians, and also the liquidation of Mohammadi.
"Targeting religious scholars and killing civilians, especially children, is a crime against humanity and Islamic values, and shows that the Taliban does not believe in peace," the statement said.

A Dem-created disaster at the border that didn't have to happen. This was under control under Trump. Dems don't believe the adage "Don't fix it if it isn't broke."
Dem constituents get their cut from the social welfare payouts after the illegals cross the border. How else to explain the outrageous spending (up to $2000/day for children) housing each illegal?
[BenarNews] Indonesian police rubbed out an Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... sympathizer who fired at officers at the national police headquarters on Wednesday, the country’s police chief said, about the alleged terrorist attack days after a suicide kaboom at a church in South Sulawesi province on Palm Sunday.
The attacker in Wednesday’s incident, who was a woman, was identified as 25-year-old Zakiah Aini, Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo said.

[SYRIAHR] The forces participating in the large-scale campaign in al-Hawl camp in the far south-eastern region of al-Hasaakah have announced the arrest of Abu Mohammed al-Jomaily today, March 31. al-Jomaily was born in 1959 in the Iraqi city of al-Anbar, and he had worked for al-Qaeda in Iraq, before he joined ISIS and served as a Sharia Emir (senior sharia commander) and mufti until he hid among the inhabitants of al-Hawl camp.
The arrest of al-Jomaily has raised several questions regarding the presence of ISIS officials and commanders for such long time in the camp which is supposed to host refugees, displaced people and families (children and women only) of ISIS members. Then, how could these commanders as well as weapons, ammunition and devices enter the camp?! And why were the forces in charge of the camp not aware of such violations?!
A few hours ago, SOHR activists said that the large-security campaign continued in "Al-Hawl mini-state", located in the south-eastern countryside of al-Hasaka for the fourth day in a row by joint forces comprising over 5,000 fighters of Syria Democratic Forces, People’s Protection Units (YPG), Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and Counter-Terrorism Special Units (H.A.T.), with logistical support by the International Coalition forces.
According to Syrian Observatory sources, the joint forces arrested more than 65 people in the first three days, mostly of non-Syrian nationalities, including 29 women, and others were also arrested and soon released after the investigation.
In addition, the joint forces confiscated weapons and equipment from the camp, which has become a "mini-state" in which ISIS cells move freely, amid widespread corruption by the camp’s guards, as many weapons and tunnels were found inside the camp.

It seems the crowning achievement of the war on ISIS will be the creation of an 'Emirates of Al-Hole'.
'May your stay in the AHE be a pleasant one. Welcome to the asshole of Allan'.
[SYRIAHR] The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored Ottoman Turkish forces combing the Latakia-Aleppo international road in the countryside of Idlib province, for the second day in a row, where Ottoman Turkish armored vehicles and soldiers combed the area in southern and western countryside of Idlib. Moreover, Ottoman Turkish forces have deployed on the Idlib-Bab al-Hawa road near the town of Hazano and combed the area.
Yesterday, SOHR activists reported seeing Ottoman Turkish forces running a patrol on Latakia-Aleppo international highway "M4", as the patrol set off from Tarnabeh village in the east of Idlib and headed to Jisr al-Shughour in the western countryside of Idlib.
SOHR sources reported substantive deployment of Ottoman Turkish forces on Latakia-Aleppo international highway, running through Idlib province, where Ottoman Turkish forces and military vehicles deployed from west of Ariha to Jisr al-Shughour in west Idlib countryside in order to comb the road and dismantle landmines and IEDs. Observatory sources also said that Ottoman Turkish forces combed the road between Idlib city and Saraqeb.
On February 2, SOHR sources reported substantial deployment of Ottoman Turkish forces from Ma’rat Misrin and al-Fu’ah in the east and north-east of Idlib countryside to Idlib city.
According to Syrian Observatory sources, this substantial deployment came as a part of combing operations launched by Ottoman Turkish forces in the area, including dismantling IEDs and detonating landmines.

[SYRIAHR] The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored growing popular discontent in the SDF-held areas in al-Raqqa, following the release of a former ISIS member by SDF, mediated by clans, despite being sentenced to 25 years, which ignited popular resentment as many people in SDF prisons accused of "belonging to and dealing with ISIS" without investigation or clear charges, and they were not released. Two days ago, reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that the forces of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, arrested three people in al-Hermoshia area in western countryside of Deir ez-Zor during the past hours.
The arrest came on charges of "dealing with and belonging to the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. ", as they were all on a cycle of violence when they were arrested.
On March 10, SOHR sources said that groups of Internal Security Forces affiliated with SDF stormed the southern neighbourhoods of the city of al-Hasakeh, arresting 30 people for "belonging to Islamic State cells", and confiscating individual weapons and military equipment they have in their possession.
The security operation comes in light of ISIS cells’ attacks on civilians and members of the military forces in areas of al-Hasakah countryside.
On March 2, SOHR sources said that a cycle of violence parked on the road of al-Siyasi of al-Ya’rabiyyah town in al-Hasakah countryside went kaboom!, as a military vehicle of the "Self-Defence Forces" was passing. The explosion caused material damage only.
