(CNN) A US drone strike in Afghanistan's northeastern Kunar province has killed the leader of the Pakistan Taliban (TTP), according to a Afghan government official.
Ministry of Defense spokesman Mohammad Radmanish confirmed to CNN that Mullah Fazlullah, who led the terror group from 2013, was killed in the strike Wednesday.
US forces had conducted the strike close to the border of Pakistan, targeting the "Emir" of the group, according US Forces-Afghanistan spokesman Lt. Col. Martin O'Donnell.
Fazlullah had been a major figure in the TTP even before he became emir in late 2013, and once led a Pakistan Taliban militia in the country's Swat Valley.
The administrative district, in northwestern Pakistan, was where militants shot and wounded teen activist Malala Yousafzai in October 2012 as she was riding home from school in a van; the Pakistan Taliban claimed responsibility.
A statement from US Forces-Afghanistan claimed that the strike did not put an ongoing, unilateral ceasefire initiated by the Afghan government at risk.
"With this action the claimants of Democracy and Freedom of Speech exposed their true nature and showed that they have absolutely no respect for the views, voice and media of their opposition. They only use the slogans of 'Freedom of Speech' to force their own views, culture and colonial agendas on foreign nations," he said in a statement.
Hard to tell. The Dems have been projecting the rights of those with American citizenship on foreigners for so long that some people forget to question it anymore.

projecting the rights of those with American citizenship on foreigners
Sorry gorb, but those rights are unalienable and endowed by their creator; so they do have those rights. What's different about being an American is that the American gov't is forbidden from infringing on those rights of citizens.
When you deal with the foreigners then things get murky.

[Libya Herald] The Hafter-led Libyan National Army (LNA) Air Force revealed yesterday that it had carried out three Arclight airstrikes against ’’Al-Qaeda terrorist gangs formed of faceless myrmidons fleeing Benghazi and foreign mercenaries from Africa’’.
According to a statement posted yesterday on the LNA’s official Facebook page the operation took place after monitoring, follow-up and establishing their location with the first airstrike taking place Tuesday at 10 am and two further raids at 3 pm on positions 60 km south of Sirte. The statement said that the airstrikes achieved direct hits and the LNA jet fighters had returned safely to their bases.
The locations of the LNA airstrikes have raised questions about the areas of operation of the LNA and the Faiez Serraj Presidency Council / Government of National Accord (PC/GNA) aligned forces.
It will be recalled that in the beginning of April this year, the Faiez Serraj-led PC/GNA had launched an anti-terror military campaign entitled operation ’’Nation’s Storm’’.
The PC had said that operation ’’Nation’s Storm’’ aimed to target ISIS/ISIS terror remnants and dens starting from the 60 km checkpoint east of Misrata to the outskirts of Bani Walid, Tarhuna, Khoms and Zliten.
Furthermore, at a later April presser held by Serraj’s personal spokesperson Mohammed El-Sallak, it was asserted that the geographical area of the operation was already completely free of any elements of terrorist organizations and that the operation’s patrols were stationed in the region and fully securing it.
El-Sallak had assured that the Anti-Terror Force had not and will not enter any city or region, and that its tasks are limited to dealing with any potential targets in the valleys and reefs in the suburbs of the named towns and cities.

Libya’s Es Sider oil port was shut on Thursday due to the festivities nearby and at least one storage tank in the neighbouring Ras Lanuf terminal was set alight, an engineer in the area said. Loadings were suspended at Ras Lanuf, according to a local shipping agent.
Jodran, who appeared today out of the blue, says his coalition forces aim to lift the suffering of the Libyans from "terrorist entity as that of Haftar’s self-styled army."
According to sources from the scene of fighting, Arclight airstrikes are being used by Haftar’s forces to thwart the full control of the PFG on the oil crescent region.
Haftar took control of Es Sider and Ras Lanuf along with other oil ports in Libya’s oil crescent in 2016, allowing them to reopen after a long blockade.
Storage tanks at both terminals were badly damaged in previous fighting and have yet to be repaired, though there has been regular loadings from Es Sider.

[PRESSTV] A man has attacked worshipers at a mosque in South Africa with a knife, killing at least two people.
The deadly incident occurred in Malmesbury, a small town in South Africa’s Western Cape Province, on Thursday morning, local police said.
Police added that several other people had also been wounded in the attack before the assailant was shot dead by police.
“Malmesbury police were called out to a local mosque and found two people dead with stab wounds and several injured,” said Noliyoso Rwexana, a spokesperson for the Western Cape police.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut, a provincial police spokesperson, police forces in Malmesbury were called out to the mosque in the early hours of the morning.
“A couple of hours ago — about 03:00 — as people got themselves ready to pray, the suspect just got up and started stabbing the people,” said Malmesbury Police Constable Henry Durant, adding that the assailant had been among the worshipers apparently praying with them.
Durant said the assailant attempted to cut an old man’s head off with his knife “and the man died.”
Fellow worshipers also said that the suspect, believed to be a foreign national in his 30s, had not raised suspicions before the sudden rampage.
Traut, the provincial police spokesperson, explained that police officers approached the assailant, who refused to lay down his Rambo knife and charged at the officers. “He ignored the calls and tried to attack police. He was shot and killed in the process. His death will be investigated by IPID (the Independent Police Investigative Directorate).”
The assault came at the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and some five weeks after another attack at a Shia mosque in Verulam, in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal, in which one person was killed and two others sustained critical injuries when knife-wielding men attacked worshipers. The suspects in that attack, who also torched the mosque before fleeing, have not been arrested yet.

[Dhaka Tribune] The body of Shumon Zahid, a witness in a 1971 war crimes case, has been recovered from near a railway track in Dhaka’s Khilgaon.
The 55-year-old was the only son of martyred journalist Selina Parvin.
Locals found Shumon's body with his throat slit near Bagicha Mosque level crossing around 8am on Thursday.
On receiving the information, police recovered the body from the spot about two hours later, which was first taken to the Government Railway Police (GRP) Station at Kamalapur, and then sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for his appointment with Doctor Quincy.
After an inquest, Kamalapur GRP OC Yasin Faruk said: "Shumon may have been run over by the Rangpur Express as he was crossing the railway lines."
Sub-Inspector Anwar Hossain also said that the victim’s throat might have been slit as he was run over. There were signs of injury on his right ear and forehead as well.
His family, however, said they believe Shumon, who worked at Farmers Bank Limited's Shantinagar branch up until four months ago, was murdered.
His brother-in-law Kazi Md Bakhtiar told news hounds that Shumon might have been murdered by those who had threatened to kill him earlier to stop him from testifying in the war crimes case against al-Badr leaders Chowdhury Mueen Uddin and Ashrafuzzaman Khan.
Mueen and Ashraf were tried in absentia and sentenced to death in November 2013 by the International Crimes Tribunal-2, for killing 18 intellectuals during the 1971 Liberation War.
Bakhtiar also said Shumon’s house at Shahjahanpur was about a 10-minute walk from the spot where his body was found. He lived there with his wife and two sons.
He said that police were aware of the death threats Shumon had received and maintained contact with him.
Shumon had also become careful about his day-to-day movements after testifying against the war criminals and receiving the threats. He generally rode a cycle of violence, but he did not take it out on Thursday.

[Right Scoop] A 29-year-old Muslim from Tunisia is being charged with planning to launch a biological weapon attack after being caught with ricin. According to the report, he’d successfully made the toxin after ordering caster beans online:
German prosecutors said Thursday they’ve thwarted an Islamic extremist plot to launch an attack with the deadly toxin ricin.
They said a 29-year-old Tunisian, identified only as Sief Allah H., who was arrested Wednesday, started procuring material online including seeds needed for the creation of ricin in mid-May.
The suspect succeeded in creating the toxin this month and investigators found it in a search of his Cologne apartment, federal prosecutors in Karlsruhe said in a written statement.
"He procured 1,000 castor bean seeds online as well as an electronic coffee grinder," they said. The shell of the castor bean plant seed is highly poisonous and can be used to create ricin.
The authorities are still investigating exactly how the suspect planned to use the toxin, but said he was working on a "biological weapon" attack in Germany.
Prosecutors said they currently have no evidence of a connection with any extremist organization.
Except that it’s also being reported that he used ISIS instructions on how to make the deadly poison. It’s also being reported that it was American intelligence who tipped off the Germans.
Bild Magazine says he had stored large quantities of the poison in his apartment. He also had a wife and four children. The wife, who is German, had converted to Islam.
The report doesn’t even give his last name, which makes me wonder if the German authorities don’t want the people to know how this Tunisian came into the country.

So... US intel tips off the Germans. The same country that doesn't pay its fair share of NATO costs, wages economic warfare against the US then lectures the USA on how to behave? What a bunch of ungrateful SOBs.

Why should America protect a stable continent of wealthy democracies? Europe is ruthlessly free-riding on American security and laughing all the way to the bank.
What on God's green earth does America owe to its allies!? It's done so much for Europe. Paid for protection. Saved from Nazism. Fascism. Paid for NATO. Prevented wars for 80 straight years in the continent (longest European peace time in history). What on earth does USA owe Europe? Europe's taken America for granted so much, it's baffling. Just pay your part of NATO. It's only fair!

I participated in a construction bid for a $2 billion project in D.C> and after two weeks, the principals decided not to bid, because the quality standards were excessive. And the schedule was extremely aggressive.
The last project, the DOT applied the specs to us much more rigorously than for other projects.
So maybe not an act of 'warfare', mein Herr, but costly and restrictive.

I could tell you similar stories of German companies bidding for contracts in the U.S.
Problems like these should be addressed openly and serious cases be handled by the WTO.
Subsidies exist on both sides of the pond. Both Airbus and Boeing use them unfairly. It's all a matter of serious negotiations.
But currently there's too much disinformation, especially when it comes to cars.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The FBI nabbed Book 'im, Mahmoud! a Wisconsin resident for providing support to the ISIS terror group by facilitating recruitment and helping plot terror attacks via Facebook, FOX6 News reported.
Waheba Issa Dais, born in Israel, was arrested on Wednesday in her home in Wisconsin’s Cudahy for "attempting to provide material support or resources to the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... of Iraq and al-Sham [ISIS*], a designated foreign terrorist organization," FOX6 News reported, citing the US Department of Justice.
According to the media, the FBI was tipped off by Facebook officials who said that Dais posted instructions on how to make explosives on her social media and encouraged people to carry out terror attacks in the name of ISIS.
Later on Wednesday, the woman appeared before a federal magistrate judge and now faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Social media has turned into a platform for a range of bad boy and terrorist groups, including ISIS, which have been actively using Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram to attract new recruits.
Different approaches to countering extremism on the Internet have been used, including massive state surveillance and raids of social media against terrorist accounts that involved blocking thousands of accounts and pages.
Dais, a native of Jerusalem, was allowed to come to the U.S. in 1992 without a passport because of her marriage to a U.S. citizen. The couple divorced in 2003, according to court records. She is now a lawful permanent resident who the FBI believes does not work outside the home.
FBI agents determined that Dais hacked numerous Facebook accounts from unwitting victims and changed the profile pictures, friends list and display names, the affidavit said.
The investigation appears to have started in January after Facebook security told the FBI that there was a "Wisconsin-based user posting detailed instructions on how to make explosive vest bombs in support of ISIS," the affidavit states. The person behind the Facebook posts, who the FBI said they determined was Dais, "also appeared to be engaged in detailed question and answer sessions discussing substances used to make bombs."

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... , thus inching closer to the group’s main stronghold along the Syria-Iraq borders.
The offensive, heavily backed by US Arclight airstrikes, has so far granted the Syrian Democratic Forces over control over 30 towns and villages with the main objective to seize ISIS’ bastion in south Hasakah; Dashishah .
According to SDF sources, some 700-800 ISIS Lions of Islam have been killed during the assault launched nearly 2 weeks ago, mostly of Tunisian and Afghan nationalities.
A Kurdish commander spoke of the tactics used by the terror group in the ongoing battles. "ISIS heavily relies on mines and IEDs to curb the SDF advance given the intensity and scale of our attack".
"Our forces now are only 3 km away from Dashishah after taking over 2 new towns yesterday", he added.
