[BB] More than 230 illegal migrant truck drivers were arrested during the Department of Homeland Security’s “Operation Guardian” through October, the Trump administration announced this week.
DHS revealed the results in a November 2 announcement in which Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the operation took place during a 72-hour window between October 26 and October 28.
The operation netted more than 230 illegal migrants, including 40 who held Commercial Driver’s Licenses.
Sec. Mullin blasted states such as California and New York for “issuing CDLs to individuals that are not qualified to drive.”
“Too many American lives have been lost because sanctuary states have issued CDLs to tens of thousands of illegal aliens who are unqualified, poorly vetted, do not speak English, and have known criminal histories,” DHS said.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, which cooperated in the operation, noted that they helped arrest migrants with outstanding felony warrants, detained six individuals who had a teen girl in their vehicle and who are suspected of sex trafficking, and one suspect who was driving a stolen vehicle and assaulted police officers while being arrested.
Officers in Indiana also participated in the campaign and noted that they patrolled “secondary and bypass routes” that criminals often take to bypass law enforcement activities on the main roads.
“[Illegal alien truckers] absolutely wreak havoc on actual companies that are doing it right. What we’re trying, through the DHS, our partners with state and local officials, is we are trying to restore law and order again. We’re trying to take these unsafe drivers off the road,” Sec. Mullin said.
[Militarnyi] Russian National Illegally Manufactured Weapons
The National Police of Spain dismantled a criminal network in Girona involved in manufacturing and distributing firearms to drug-trafficking groups, led by a 63-year-old former Russian serviceman.
They were taught for generations that capitalism must be rapacious and unethical, so when they become capitalists, that is their first impulse. Eventually they will outgrow it.
According to the investigation, he handled the technical aspects of the scheme and worked in a clandestine workshop in Figueres, Girona province.
During the operation, police found various weapons at different stages of conversion, including submachine guns and rifles modified to fire live ammunition, as well as barrels, bolts, and frames. Starting and traumatic pistols were also being converted into functional firearms there.
In total, law enforcement officers seized 644 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and numerous suppressors. Their black-market value is estimated at around €5 million.
The weapons were distributed through courier companies using forged or fictitious personal details to avoid detection.
According to the Spanish publication Europa Press, the investigation began in early 2026 after authorities identified a series of suspicious postal shipments from the Valencian Community to other regions of Spain. Fictitious or stolen personal details were used to send the packages.
In June, law enforcement intercepted one of the packages and found a gun, a submachine gun, a suppressor, and a high-capacity drum magazine inside. Subsequent arrests established that the network supplied weapons to other criminal groups involved in drug trafficking and kidnappings.
Six people were arrested in Girona, Valencia, Badajoz, and Barcelona, including the group’s leader, who remains in custody.
A key development came on August 25, when another package containing a submachine gun with its serial number removed was intercepted in Girona. Surveillance of the suspects linked the shipment to a warehouse in Figueres, after which law enforcement obtained authorization to conduct searches.
The investigation is ongoing at both the national and international levels to trace the seized weapons, with further arrests not ruled out.
On August 22, German intelligence services discovered a secret weapons cache with two pistols on the border between Berlin and the state of Brandenburg. A Ukrainian citizen set it up on behalf of Russian intelligence services.

Nice highlight TW. When I was working in Eastern Russia right after the wall fell, the degree of duplicity I encountered in business dealing was unbelievable. Then I finally understood. The Russians had been told their whole life that capitalism was theft. Then they were told to go become capitalists!

You got to Eastern Russia a few years before Mr. Wife, my dear. The trailing daughters and I were parked near Frankfurt am Main in 1991 while his group developed new laundry detergents for first Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, then over the next five years expanded all the way to Siberia. You may have met him in expat circles somewhere along the way: strong extrovert, average height, dark hair, glasses, a fashionable goatee, fit, hadn’t been quite everywhere but had stories (and recommended restaurants and bars) for all the places he had been. The usual for those circles, come to think of it…
[Gateway] Several of the Palm Beach crash victims were identified on Monday.
A Learjet that departed Austin, Texas, en route to the Bahamas plunged at a high rate of speed and nosedived into a mobile home part nine miles from Mar-a-Lago on Sunday.
The doomed plane erupted into a giant fireball and left a massive crater in the road.
All nine people aboard the doomed aircraft perished.
The cause of the crash is unknown; however, severe thunderstorms impacted South Florida in the Palm Beach region on Sunday.
The pilot was identified as Jeff Gregory, 55 and the co-pilot was identified as Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, 20.
Nathalia reportedly text her boyfriend, also a licensed pilot, 10 minutes before the crash: "I’ve got turbulence, I’ve got ice."
According to TMZ, Texas tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson, 44, his wife, Helen Sharp and their two young children, Emma and Charlie were on the Learjet.
The Robinson family nanny, Anita Maria Cetina, and their two friends, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr also died in the crash.
Looking at the videos about the Weather for the area.Example video It was noted that at 30K to 40+K there were a number of ICE producing super cells pockets.

Seems like a cascade of failures happened. The Learjet 60 has had issues and 18 months ago a medical Lear60 crashed in the exact same way.
The deicing system on those jets is known to be awful and barely work.
The weather radar is bare minimum for flying and sucks ass so pilots have a hard time seeing severe weather in front of them.
Both pilots (at least the copilot) seem they were not trained to deal with the known icing and tail stall issue of this model and didn't know how to recover fast enough to prevent a non-recoverable dive.
We'll see what the official word is after the investigation but that is what everything is initially pointing to.

[Regnum] A weak C-class solar flare occurred on November 1, interrupting a four-day period of no flare activity. This was reported by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"Yesterday, Sunday, after a four-day hiatus, a weak class C flare unexpectedly occurred, breaking a beautiful streak of no flares," the laboratory said in a message on its Telegram channel.
No solar flare activity was observed on the morning of November 2. Since the beginning of the day, scientists have not recorded a single new flare.
The first magnetic storm of the fall occurred on September 8th. The event was weak, classified as Category I on a five-point scale. The disturbances were associated with a plasma cloud ejected by the Sun.
[Reuters] A hacking attack on European supermarkets spread across the continent on Monday, hitting fridges and freezers from Sweden to Belgium and forcing stores to throw away food in an incident that echoed a similar attack in France last month.
The attack, which raised temperatures in refrigerator and freezer units at dozens of stores, hit supermarket groups Ahold Delhaize (AD.AS), opens new tab and Colruyt (COLR.BR), opens new tab in Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as Swedish grocers ICA and Coop. Furniture-to-meatballs retailer IKEA also saw at least one store affected.
"Everything is destroyed," Engla Ingwall, sales manager at an ICA franchise store in Stockholm, told Reuters during a visit to the store on Monday, adding the attack occurred at 2 a.m. (0100 GMT) but was only noticed hours later.
"There has been a cyberattack and all our freezers reached 50 degrees (Celsius)."
A spokesperson for privately held ICA said the company was aware that a "limited number of stores were affected by an incident overnight, which impacted their refrigeration and freezer systems".
The latest incidents follow an attack in France last month when police said hackers seized control of cooling units at hundreds of supermarkets, causing fires and food losses. Ahold also reported a cybersecurity incident to police last month.
While no one has claimed responsibility for either attack, the incidents have heightened concerns among European authorities about hybrid threats to infrastructure amid growing security tensions since Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
Moscow has repeatedly denied involvement in sabotage or hybrid warfare operations. Reuters could not establish who was behind Monday's attacks or whether they were linked to the incidents in France.
"It is not known who is behind this attack, and it may never be determined," said Katrien Eggers, spokesperson for Belgium's Centre for Cybersecurity, adding she was concerned about the growing number of incidents, in part due to AI.
"All IT systems are potentially vulnerable, and AI can now be used to successfully exploit these weaknesses — especially by sophisticated actors," she said.

The rush to blindly implement A.I., w/o a full IT Security understanding of its inherent issues, will only make automation a growing serious risk.
In the end, the consumer ultimately, and as all to usual, will end up paying for the mistakes. As companies pay with prices to recover losses.
Take this step further. A number of companies are currently looking at having Automated Drone deliver shipments and packages. Imagine what a Terrorist minded hacker could do there?
[FOX] A federal judge denied the NAACP’s request to block the Justice Department from sending election monitors to polling places, but ordered the department to ensure they are not sworn law enforcement officers and cannot make arrests.
U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton, in an order Monday night, said the DOJ must also ensure its monitors are unarmed, out of uniform and do not display insignia identifying them as federal employees. The order applies to the department’s poll monitoring program for Election Day, Nov. 3.
[Jpost] CURE, a Washington DC-based nonprofit, has paid for a series of yard signs reading “Blacks and Jews Standing Together” throughout cities with high Black populations
A Black conservative group is distributing signs and paying for billboards in Michigan encouraging Black voters to support Jews and Israel, in the days before a contentious US Senate race in which the Democratic candidate has struggled to shore up both voting groups.
The Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), a Washington, DC-based nonprofit, has paid for a series of yard signs reading "Blacks and Jews Standing Together" throughout cities with high Black populations, including bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit ... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang... , Flint and Ypsilanti.
The nonprofit’s director, Star Parker, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in an email that their goal is "to remind black Christian voters of unique and special reasons to stand with Israel."
Parker said CURE is also paying for billboards in the area reading "Self Defense is Not Genocide" and "Many Black Evangelicals Agree that Israel Has a Right to Exist."
The signs and billboards do not name any candidates. But Michigan’s Democratic Senate nominee, Abdul El-Sayed, has alienated many Jewish voters with his rhetoric on Israel and comments on Jewish safety.
He has also had difficulty shoring up Black support, another traditional Democratic constituency, with many Black Detroiters voting for his primary rival, US Rep. Haley Stevens. That phenomenon has shifted somewhat in the race’s final days, with one poll commissioned by the Detroit News suggesting that 87% of likely Black voters would support El-Sayed.
DISTRUST BETWEEN BLACK, ARAB COMMUNITIES
Still, there can be distrust between Black and Arab communities, as with Jewish and Arab populations. Sam Robinson, a Detroit-based news hound for a historic Black newspaper who has interviewed scores of Black voters in viral interviews, recently told the Columbia Journalism Review, "There’s a scarcity mindset that there are only so many resources and Arabs are somehow taking Black people’s share."
Republican Mike Rogers, meanwhile, has courted Black voters as well as Jewish ones, with pro-Rogers ads highlighting tensions between local Black and Arab communities. A new super PAC linked to Rogers has spent heavily on ads stating that El-Sayed "has been disrespectful and dishonest with Black voters."
CURE’s signs targeting Black voters appeared in the final week of the campaign. They followed an Oct. 22 interfaith roundtable in Detroit hosted by the organization, in which a local rabbi appeared alongside Black pastors to discuss the history of Black-Jewish organizing, a longtime alliance that has been shaken in recent years for a number of reasons.
Rabbi Aaron Bergman of Adat Shalom, a Conservative synagogue in the Detroit suburb of Farmington Hills, participated in the CURE roundtable. Over email, he told JTA that politics was not meant to be the focus of the event.
"It was mostly about teaching about antisemitism, which I guess at this point in history is political," Bergman wrote.
El-Sayed has focused much of his campaign’s homestretch on shoring up the Black vote, visiting Black churches and holding events with former President Barack Obama I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody... and senior US Rep. Jim Clyburn ...Democratic Representative-for-Life from South Carolina. He has been warming his safe seat since 1993... of South Carolina, a Black congressional leader. Driving up turnout in Black communities, usually one of the Democrats ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... ’ strongest constituencies, is viewed as key to his chances of taking the seat.
Stevens’ last-minute decision to endorse Rogers instead is a wildcard. Star told JTA she believed many "black Christian voters" would follow her lead.
"Their support for Israel needed a boost," she said. "I believe this endorsement has taken Mike Rogers over the finish line with black voters."
Yet there are signs that Paleostinian rights may be a more animating issue among Michigan’s Black voters this year than in the past. Pro-Paleostinian state Rep. Donavan McKinney, a democratic socialist, won his primary challenge against a pro-Israel incumbent in a majority-Black, Detroit-area congressional district in August. And during one of Stevens's primary campaign stops in Detroit, a Black community organizer directly confronted her over her support for Israel.
[NYP] WASHINGTON — A federal magistrate judge dismissed charges Monday against two FBI officials accused of lying to Congress about Hunter Biden’s laptop, saying the case "cannot be described as anything other than weaponization" of the Justice Department.
The ruling by Judge Zia Faruqui followed a two-day probable cause hearing last week in the case of Nikki Floris and Bradley Benavides, formerly of the FBI’s now-defunct Foreign Influence Task Force. Two entire days of courtroom hearing was it ?
Prosecutors claimed the duo downplayed what they knew about the bureau’s Hunter Biden probes when they sat for interviews with the House Judiciary Committee in 2023, with Benavides telling the committee he’d learned of the particulars on Wikipedia.
The Department of Justice said in a statement on X that it "disagrees with the Magistrate’s decision, which remarkably appears to suggest that high-ranking government officials are immune from accountability for making materially false statements to Congress."
"We are evaluating all options but cannot comment further on an ongoing criminal investigation," the DOJ added. "The Department’s actions will continue to be guided by the facts, the evidence, and the law — not politics."
Zia M. Faruqui was born and raised in the Baltimore area of Maryland as a first-generation Pakistani American. His parents immigrated to the United States from Pakistan, and their journey shaped his values around public service and community responsibility from an early age.
Growing up as a Muslim American in the United States, Faruqui navigated the cultural and social complexities that come with belonging to a minority community. He has spoken publicly about feeling out of place during his early legal education and career — experiences that later motivated him to actively support programs helping first-generation and minority law students find their footing in the legal profession.

The Constitution guarantees judges can serve "during good behavior", not for life. That's a difference Congress needs to quantify and apply. Judges that step over the line should be shut down immediately, permanently, with no option for remediation. Every part of our government was DESIGNED to have checks and balances. That includes the Judiciary. Time to apply them.

Yes, no more lifetime appointments. They can be appointed, but only for a term limit and the voters in that circuit get to decide if they stay.
[NYP] Astro gets its name from the dog in the classic cartoon The Jetsons. The aircraft even looks like something George Jetson might have parked outside his house. Astro uses electric vertical takeoff and landing technology, commonly called eVTOL. As a result, it can lift straight into the air without needing a runway. Unlike a conventional police helicopter, Astro has a compact frame that folds for easier transport and storage. The aircraft features an open cockpit surrounded by a lightweight frame.
Eight electric motors power its eight propellers. Meanwhile, a four-axis joystick allows the pilot to control its movement. Florida Polytechnic University selected the Jetson ONE to explore its potential for law enforcement. The aircraft arrived during summer 2026. Since then, police personnel have completed flight training, according to Jetson. That includes Police Chief Aaron Murray. Jetson also identifies the aircraft by its registration number, N911FP. The number references emergency services and Florida Polytechnic University. Jetson tells CyberGuy that Astro is a standard Jetson ONE with police lights added. Officers use a handheld radio, and the aircraft has mounts for action cameras. The company says a pilot-controlled searchlight could be added in the future.
