[KhaamaPress] Heavy festivities between Afghan and Pak forces were reported in Paktika ...which coincidentally borders North Wazoo and Kurram Agency... province near the Angoor Ada border area on Tuesday, with both sides reportedly using heavy weapons and some local residents fleeing their homes.
Clashes between Taliban ...Arabic for students... fighters and Pak forces were reported on Tuesday in the Angoor Ada area of Barmal district in Afghanistan’s southeastern Paktika province, with local sources saying the fighting involved heavy weapons.
The sources told Khaama Press that the confrontation began after midday near the border and continued intensely. Residents in the area reportedly left their homes amid fears over the fighting. The number of people displaced was not immediately known.
There was no confirmed information about possible casualties or the cause of the confrontation. No official statements from either side were cited in the initial report, and the claims could not be independently verified.
The incident follows earlier festivities in the same border area. Reprts indicated on October 20 that fighting between Taliban and Pak forces in Barmal and Angoor Ada continued for several hours after starting late on October 19. Both sides reportedly used heavy weapons, and some residents fled their homes overnight.
The latest reported fighting comes amid persistent tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistain, whose relations have been strained by cross-border attacks and disputes over gangs operating in the region.
Pakistain has repeatedly accused the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan of allowing the Pak Taliban, known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP), to operate from Afghanistan territory. The Afghan authorities deny responsibility for attacks inside Pakistain and have rejected Islamabad’s accusations.
#Somalia 🇸🇴: Al-Shabaab (part of Al-Qaeda) ambushed a Somali National Army unit in Lower Shabelle.

Somalia's defence ministry said about 75 militants were killed and another 56 were wounded in the fighting in the Jameeco area of Buurhakaba district. The statement did not say how many soldiers were killed or wounded
Somalia, in the Horn of Africa, has been grappling with a nearly two-decade-long insurgency led by al Shabaab, which seeks to establish its own rule based on its strict interpretation of Sharia law
The defence ministry said the militants had attacked the national army using vehicles packed with explosives and that some army vehicles were damaged.
Two soldiers told Reuters that dozens of soldiers were killed in the battle. One of the soldiers, who gave his name as Ahmed, said he had helped transport 40 dead soldiers and more than 100 wounded to hospitals in the capital Mogadishu.
The ministry said the Somali National Army launched the assault on October 26 as part of Operation Banooda, targeting Al-Shabaab positions in several locations around Jameeca.
During the fighting, Al-Shabaab fighters attacked military vehicles with explosives-laden vehicles, damaging some army vehicles, according to the ministry’s statement. It did not provide further details about casualties among government forces.
The ministry said the army would continue Operation Banooda, which aims to weaken Al-Shabaab’s operational capabilities and the networks supporting the militant group.
According to the SITE Intelligence Group, Al-Shabaab issued a statement late Monday saying it had launched an attack on Turkish-trained government troops and an allied militia — supported by Turkish fighter jets — in the Lower Shabelle region, resulting in the deaths of 321 troops.
The fighting, near the city of Leego, continued for three hours and resulted in the seizure of prisoners, weapons and vehicles, according to Al-Shabaab’s statement.
Turkey has emerged as a key backer of the Somali government at a time when the United States and other key donors are pulling back from supporting the counter-insurgency.
Washington has stopped funding the vital United Nations logistics mission that supplies combat operations in the country, saying the government has failed to make progress in uniting the country and tackling the insurgent threat.

[BB] An unidentified minor wounded a Serbian policeman guarding the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade with a knife before being shot dead during the early morning hours of Wednesday in what Interior Minister Ivica Dacic described to international outlets as a suspected terrorist attack.
In a brief Wednesday morning statement, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade detailed that the incident occurred at around 12:15 a.m. (local time). The assailant, dressed in black, opened the door to the security guard booth where the police officer was located, attacking the policeman while shouting “Allahu Akbar.”
The official sustained a laceration in his left cheek before he drew his service weapon and “fired several shots at the attacker, killing the minor on the spot.
“Following the investigation, it was determined that the use of the service firearm was justified in self-defense, and the investigation into the full circumstances of this incident is ongoing,” the statement concluded.
At press time, the incident is being treated by Serbian authorities as a suspected terrorist attack — as a result, the country’s terror alert was risen to its highest level and security has reportedly been stepped up at key locations such as infrastructure facilities and areas where large crowds gather.
Reuters reports that Interior Minister Dacic, in a statement shared via email, detailed that the yet-to-be identified minor is suspected to be from the western Serbian city of Šabac. Per Bloomberg, the minor assailant was 16 years old, and is presumed to have acted alone.
The Israeli military says the Egyptian national who infiltrated Israeli territory overnight was apprehended by troops some two kilometers from the border fence.
An initial military probe has found that the man was identified crossing the border fence by soldiers monitoring surveillance cameras at around 1:45 a.m.
The soldiers "maintained continuous surveillance" of the suspect until the incident ended, the military says.
Troops were dispatched to the scene and apprehended him, some two kilometers from the fence, "in an area far from communities and IDF bases," according to the army.
He was then handed over to the Shin Bet security agency for questioning.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry claims the man has been "missing" since July and is "psychologically unstable."

Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... ’s ruler and the Iranian president discussed the Middle East war and the blockaded Strait of Hormuz during a meeting in Moscow, the emir’s office said Tuesday.
The high-level meeting came a day after bigwigs from Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start... , The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... and Pakistain held talks with Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The Qatari and Iranian leaders "reviewed the current state of relations between Tehran and Doha and emphasized the importance of deepening political and economic ties and making use of existing potential to strengthen bilateral cooperation," Iranian state television ... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
said.
Qatar and Pakistain have been at the forefront of efforts to secure a lasting deal between the United States and Iran.
On Sunday, a Qatari delegation visited Tehran and "reviewed developments in the regional situation, foremost among them the latest on the negotiations, the Strait of Hormuz, and energy supplies," Iran’s foreign ministry front man Esmaeil Baqaei said earlier.
Qatari foreign ministry official Ibrahim al-Hashmi said the region needed a new security framework to prevent further violence.
Meanwhile,
...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter wished he had a cup of coffee. Even instant would do... Iranian Security Council chief Mohsen Rezaei met Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, not seen in public since succeeding his slain father in March, a day after holding talks with the representatives of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistain.
State media said Khamenei had stressed the importance of pursuing Iran’s interests and maintaining its conditions for ending the war.
"Safeguarding national and regional security by maintaining control over the Strait of Hormuz and strengthening bilateral relations with neighboring countries" were among the topics Khamenei and Rezaei had discussed, it said.

"The council reviewed the substance of the talks held between the countries party to the Mecca Common Defence Agreement and bigwigs of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s commitment to establishing security and stability," read a statement released by state media.
OIL TANKER SET ABLAZE
The Iranian army said an oil tanker hit mines and caught fire while attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz via a route not authorized by Tehran.
"A few hours ago, an oil tanker in breach of regulations, having switched off its tracking systems and attempted to cross a prohibited and dangerous area east of the Strait of Hormuz, struck naval mines, causing damage and a fire," the army said in a statement carried by the official IRNA news agency.
Iran claims control over the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy conduit, and has targeted vessels that attempt to cross without its authorization since the outbreak of the Middle East war on February 28.
The Iranian military has reported on multiple occasions that tankers struck naval mines while attempting to transit areas Tehran considers off-limits.

...What is kind of interesting is that down here at least, gas prices are headed steadily down. That tells me that A) nothing is being hit in the straits, and B) the turbans are panicking for some kind of a deal.
