🔴 Numerous sources report more than 80 Malian soldiers killed.
Several dozen other soldiers are said to have been captured by the terrorists (📽️ in the first comment), while others are reported to have managed to flee the fighting.
Videos (📽️ in the second comment) show burned motorcycles in the camp, as well as several bodies of soldiers lying on the ground.

🔷 On 09/10, after acknowledging the attack, the FAMa issued a statement on their counterattack, announcing they were continuing their "air-ground operations" and mentioning "several dozen terrorists neutralized."
On 09/13, a new statement specifies that the operations enabled the neutralization of "several terrorist elements on motorcycles."

🔹 At this stage, the government has not announced that it has retaken the Dioura camp, and no mention has been made of an intervention by the Russian paramilitary forces of the Africa Corps.
ℹ️ This military barracks has historically housed several hundred soldiers. After an attack in 2019, a senior army officer had specified that between 140 and 150 soldiers were deployed there at the time.
⚠️ Beyond the human toll, the issue now is the FAMa's capacity to retake and durably secure this forward position, which has already been attacked four times since 2023. Three of these attacks had resulted in several dozen deaths in the FAMa ranks.
A reality that fits into a broader context: FAMa positions are regularly targeted across the country, despite counterattacks, at the cost of far too many human losses.

The Nigerian Army troops and the Police operatives have eliminated several terrorists during a clearance operation at Gumki Forest in Kangiwa, Kebbi State.
The operation was conducted in the early hours of Monday as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating in the area.
A statement by the Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, said the operatives recovered one PKT rifle with 174 rounds of live ammunition and one AK-47 rifle with 14 rounds of ammunition.
Other items recovered include military camouflage uniforms, a pair of boots, two mobile phones, charms and four motorcycles.
The police said the cleared area remained calm after the operation, while joint security forces continued clearance activities aimed at flushing out terrorists and other criminal elements from the state.

A 22-year-old member of the Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (BHT/ISWAP) has surrendered to troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade in Benisheikh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The terrorist, identified as Musa Babagoni, reportedly surrendered on Sept. 13, 2026, after escaping from the group on Sept. 11.
According to security sources, Babagoni surrendered in an operation conducted by troops in collaboration with Forest Guards.
Items recovered from him included an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, magazines, a hand grenade, a locally fabricated improvised explosive device (IED), a magazine pouch and a bicycle.

"In response to the brutal Saudi aggression targeting our country and our people, and in light of the significant escalation they are carrying out by launching more than 300 Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s in the past five days with saudi warplanes F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets, launched from Khamis Mushait and Taif airbases, targeted most Yemeni provinces.
By the grace of Allah, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a large-scale, qualitative military operation targeting military facilities and infrastructure, including aircraft hangars, radar installations, runways, ammunition depots, and other targets at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait. Dozens of ballistic missiles and drones were used, and the strikes were precise and direct, thanks to Allah’s power and might.
The operation inflicted significant losses on the base, by the grace of Allah. The Armed Forces will continue their qualitative military operations deep inside Saudi Arabia as long as the unjust aggression against our people continues. Any new aggression will be met with broader and more intense operations, Allah’s willing.

Saudi authorities sounded sirens on Sunday afternoon in the southern city of Abha and Khamis Mushait province, warning residents to take shelter from potential incoming fire. Both areas, near the border with Yemen, were repeatedly attacked by the Houthis in recent weeks.
The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said on Tuesday that 13 civilians were injured in attacks by the Iran-aligned Houthis on the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif the day before.

It is the stomping grounds on the southern secessionist al-Harak movement , al-Jawf, Ma’rib, and Hajjah.
He added that the attacks were carried out by F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets, which took off from Saudi enemy air bases in Khamis Mushait and Taif.
Sare’e stressed that the Saudi enemy’s attacks against the Yemeni people would not pass without a response, by Allah’s permission and power.
Footage shows military fortifications inside Yemen’s Mocha Port
[HodhodYemenNews] Recently released video footage reveals underground fortifications and military infrastructure inside the Red Sea port of Mocha, near the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait, according to a report published Friday by the Ansarullah’s al-Masirah television network.
The network reported that the imagery shows fortified barracks, underground shelters, and basements within the port complex.
According to the report, these facilities were utilized by Saudi forces—and previously by Emirati forces—as a command center to direct military operations in Yemen over the past several years.
The coverage further stated that Saudi forces had converted the commercial port into a fully integrated, heavily fortified military operations hub.
The report asserted that the facility functioned as a military base housing senior foreign commanders and troops, rather than serving purely civilian maritime purposes.
Maritime traffic in Bab Al-Mandeb remains smooth
[HodhodYemenNews] A Yemeni Transport Ministry official said that maritime traffic through the Bab al-Mandab Strait remains fully smooth, rejecting claims by countries involved in the aggression that Yemen’s maritime measures are threatening international navigation.
Speaking to Almasirah on Saturday, the official stated that Sana’a recorded 73 vessels crossing Bab al-Mandab over the past two days—36 on September 10 and 37 on September 11.
The official stressed that Yemen’s ban on Saudi maritime traffic has not affected the flow of international shipping through Bab al-Mandab, noting that the 73 vessels recorded over 48 hours represent 98.6 percent of the average traffic recorded before the ban.
The official said that the actual shipping figures refute the claim that international navigation through Bab al-Mandab is at risk, arguing that the data demonstrate the continued normal flow of maritime traffic through the strategic waterway.
Bab al-Mandab is a strategic maritime chokepoint linking the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and the wider global shipping network. Yemen has imposed restrictions on Saudi-linked maritime traffic amid the ongoing Saudi-led aggression and blockade, while rejecting claims that its measures threaten international navigation. The latest shipping figures from Sana’a are being cited as evidence that commercial traffic through the strait remains largely uninterrupted.

I've drawn for you here a new explanatory map of the situation in Taiz in a concise manner.
Yemeni forces have been confirmed to have retaken the positions overlooking the Jardhad area after Houthi elements infiltrated them, and Yemeni forces advanced toward the Ghayl area as part of a military operation to expel the Houthis. The ground advance was accompanied by airstrikes targeting Houthi gatherings and vehicles in several districts of Taiz, as I informed you in the previous map.
Why is this development important?
This development is important because it is not just about a small location in Yemen; rather, it is a front that affects supply lines and the siege of Taiz, in which the Houthis have suffered heavy losses since the beginning of the war.
Taiz is geographically located as a bridge with difficult terrain between Houthi-controlled areas to the north and government areas to the south, extending westward toward Al-Makha and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Any advance or retreat in its western countryside will be reflected in the movement of forces and supplies between the city and the coast.
Retaking positions in this area means breaking Houthi operations and preventing their breaches and infiltrations from turning into broader operations in this very important region.
Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels captured more strategic islands in the southern Red Sea, government and Houthi officials said Monday, strengthening their control of a major maritime shipping route.
The capture of the islands of Greater and Lesser Hanish was the latest in the rebels’ swift advance around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a key passage for Saudi oil shipments that has only become more crucial during the Iran war since it serves as an alternative to the Strait of Hormuz.
Like Hormuz, which is located at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait — on the opposite side of the Arabian Peninsula — is a chokepoint that connects the Red Sea to the open ocean and Saudi Arabia’s key Asian markets.
For more than a month, the Houthis have been striking Saudi oil infrastructure and shipping in the Red Sea, stepping up pressure on global oil prices and boosting Iran’s leverage in its war with the United States.
Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces have been attempting to rally and fight back. But the Houthi gains have seemingly come with little resistance.
The rebels deployed on the Hanish islands, 160 kilometers (100 miles) north of Bab el-Mandeb, after hundreds of government-allied forces withdrew from the archipelago, according to two government officials and a Houthi official. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to journalists.
The capture of the islands came after the rebels last week seized the port city of Mokha on the mainland nearby and the island of Mayun, inside the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The Houthis’ advances also put them just 20 miles (32 kilometers) from the US military base in Djibouti, on the other side of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
THOUSANDS OF YEMENIS ARE FLEEING THE FIGHTING
The fighting is pushing the impoverished nation back into full-fledged civil war, after a truce that largely maintained quiet since 2022. Even as they advance along the Red Sea, the Houthis have waged an offensive further inland, particularly in the longtime battleground province of Taiz.
Some 150 civilians have been killed in fighting since September 3, including a pregnant woman killed Saturday in a village in Taiz, the government’s Human Rights Ministry said. More than 200 civilians have been wounded, it said.
Thousands of families have fled their homes in Taiz and nearby provinces in the past day alone, said Khanzad Shah, acting head of Islamic Relief, a charity that operates in the area.
The United Nations has estimated that more than 80,000 people have been displaced in the past two weeks, including over 2,000 people who fled by boat to Djibouti.
The fighting threatens to reignite a war that, for more than a decade, brought disaster to Yemen, killing more than 150,000 people and driving the country to the brink of famine. Since 2014, the Houthis have controlled the north, including the capital, Sanaa, and much of the western heartland of the country where most of the population is located.
The internationally recognized government, backed by an array of disparate militias, controls the south and east, including the key southern port of Aden.
The Hanish islands, newly captured by the Houthis, had been controlled by the United Arab Emirates and its southern allies in Yemen. However, the UAE dismantled its military infrastructure there after it fell out with Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government earlier this year.
For years, Saudi Arabia waged a destructive air campaign against the Houthis, while backing the government and allied militias. But it has appeared reluctant to throw itself fully back into the war, despite the Houthi attacks on oil infrastructure and shipping.

Mohammad Emad Ahmadzai, a resident of Roxburgh Park in Melbourne’s north-west, was arrested at Melbourne Airport while attempting to board a flight to the Middle East. Australian authorities allege he was involved in an online network that shared and distributed violent mostly peaceful murderous Moslem material.
According to Australian media reports, Sherlocks found graphic material on electronic devices seized during a search of Ahmadzai’s Roxburgh Park home. The material allegedly included videos depicting executions, shootings and other acts of extreme violence, as well as imagery associated with the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. Reports said Ahmadzai had planned to travel with his family to visit his sick father in Afghanistan. He was intercepted by authorities at Melbourne Airport before leaving Australia. He is also accused of initially refusing to provide police with access to an electronic device, which Sherlocks later accessed.
The arrest is linked to a broader Victorian counter-terrorism investigation that began after Australian authorities discovered suspicious material on a mobile phone during an airport luggage check in 2024. The investigation has resulted in charges against several Victorian men accused of possessing, accessing or distributing violent mostly peaceful murderous Moslem material linked to ISIS.
AFP Counter-Terrorism Commander Paula Hudson said early intervention was important in preventing people involved with violent mostly peaceful murderous Moslem material from progressing to more serious offending. She warned that repeatedly sharing graphic murderous Moslem content can contribute to the normalisation of violence and murderous Moslem ideology.
Ahmadzai remains before the courts, and the allegations against him have not been proven. He is due to return to court on Tuesday as the legal process continues. The charges could carry a significant prison sentence if he is convicted.
The lawyer of a man accused of possessing Islamic State beheading propaganda has questioned what proof police have that he supports a terrorist organisation.
Mohammad Emad Uddin Ahmadzai, 31, was arrested at Melbourne Airport trying to depart for Afghanistan on Saturday.
He sought bail on Tuesday after being charged with possessing violent extremist material and failing to provide access to his electronic devices on request.
Federal police on May 7 raided the Roxburgh Park home he shared with his brother and seized two phones, a tablet and a broomstick with a screwdriver head, Sergeant James Allison told the Melbourne Magistrates Court.
The brother complied with a police order to provide the password to his phone but Ahmadzai allegedly refused officers access to his phone and tablet.
Authorities eventually gained access to his phone but only analysed the contents on August 7, allegedly discovering the violent extremism material after Ahmadzai had flown back from a trip to Afghanistan, Sgt Allison said.

Videos on his seized phone allegedly showed a hostage being shot in the head at close range, beheadings, throat cuttings, mass casualties, deceased children in Gaza and IS flags and logos.

Border force seized a second phone and a bubble-wrapped desktop computer in his luggage, which federal police are yet to analyse.
Sgt Allison on Tuesday labelled the alleged materials "very offensive, very extreme" and "quite horrific".
"It is a threat to the community if someone has that interest," he said.
Opposing bail, prosecutor Bridget Atkinson said Ahmadzai's alleged offending was "not just a passing interest in an extremist ideology".
"The material was found on two phones over several months and are linked to two separate prescribed terror organisations," she said.
But defence lawyer Siobhan Stary questioned what evidence showed Ahmadzai expressed any support for any terror organisation.
It was unclear where the videos were located on Ahmadzai's device, apart from him receiving some through WhatsApp, and whether he was actively engaging with the material, she said.
"There is no evidence, at this stage, that the material was either shared or possessed for the purposes of its ideological content," Ms Stary told the court.
Magistrate Samantha Seoud will deliver her bail ruling on Thursday.
Adian Sarwari, Sulaiman Sarwari, Azan Syed and Ahmadzai's brother - Mohammad Solaiman Salahuddin Ahmadzai - have also been charged with possessing violent extremist material offences.
Mr Ahmadzai appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to apply for bail to live with his aunt and uncle.
Giving evidence, Australian Federal Police (AFP) sergeant James Allison said detectives from the National Security Investigations team had raided Mr Ahmadzai’s home on May 7 as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged distribution of ISIS propaganda.
The officer said Mr Ahmadzai’s younger brother, Mohammad Ahmadzai, 21, was the target of the raid, but police seized an iPhone and an iPad from the older man.
The younger Mohammad Ahmadzai was one of four men charged with possessing violent extremist material on May 7, as police raided four homes.
The court was told the four men, including his younger brother, who were charged in May had been released on bail.
Ms Stary said her client’s uncle and aunt had offered to have him stay with them and he had an offer for work at a construction company.
The two charges carry a combined maximum penalty of 15 years’ imprisonment.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) will allege the man was part of a group chat with five other Victorian men, all of whom have previously been charged and remain before the courts over allegations they shared violent extremist material, including ISIS propaganda.

A 43-year-old woman wearing a Star of David necklace was maimed in an antisemitic attack in central Berlin early Friday, when two men allegedly insulted her and one assaulted her with a broken glass bottle, police said.
Berlin police said Saturday that the attack took place at around 2:30 a.m. Friday on Torstrasse in the Mitte district.
The two men approached the woman and confronted her over the Star of David she was wearing, before directing antisemitic insults at her.
One of the suspects then attacked the woman with a broken glass bottle.
The victim suffered several cuts to her hand while trying to defend herself and was taken to a hospital for treatment. There was no update on her condition from authorities.
Bild reported that the two suspects expeditiously departed at a goodly pace and apparently remained unidentified as of Saturday.
