The Danab commandos conducted the operations in the Madax-Maroodi area after security forces received intelligence about movements by al-Shabaab fighters believed to be hiding in the area, according to a military statement.
The operations were aimed at disrupting the group’s movements and preventing it from establishing bases from which to plan and launch attacks, the statement said.
Danab forces have intensified operations across several areas of Lower Shabelle as Somali security forces continue their campaign against the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab group.
The military said the operations were intended to weaken the group’s capabilities and improve security for communities in the region.

The troops, while conducting a routine patrol along the axis, encountered the terrorists who attempted to attack the military convoy.
The troops responded decisively, forcing the terrorists to withdraw from the area in disarray.
Following the encounter, reinforcements were deployed to the location, where the troops cleared the ambush site and conducted exploitation operations across the surrounding terrain.
During the operation, the troops discovered and dismantled several makeshift settlements suspected to have been used as hideouts by the terrorists.
Items recovered from the camps included a motorcycle, bicycles, a magazine, ammunition and rocket-propelled grenade bombs.
Sources said there were no casualties among the troops during the encounter, although some military vehicles sustained damage.

The UN’s special envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, warned in a statement on Monday that the Houthi assault had "triggered increasingly intense festivities, threatening to further expand the conflict."
"A return to sustained large-scale fighting will carry grave consequences for civilians and make an already difficult path toward a political settlement even harder," he added.
Military sources within government forces also reported the air raids and missile attacks to AFP. But Saudi Arabia did not announce any such strikes. Most of the strikes were in al-Bayda and Marib, targeting strategic positions, gatherings, and camps under Houthi control, the sources said on condition of anonymity.

Saudi strike on Al-Jawf prison kills five
Five people, including a child, have been killed in a Saudi airstrike on the Central Correctional Facility in Al-Hazm district, Al-Jawf province, as rescue teams continue searching for dozens of people trapped under the rubble.
Sources told Al-Masirah that Saudi enemy warplanes carried out several raids on the facility on Monday afternoon, causing casualties among inmates. Initial reports indicated that a number of prisoners were killed or wounded in the attack.
The director of the correctional facility told Al-Masirah that rescuers had recovered the body of a child and two wounded people, while 35 inmates and a woman visiting her husband remained trapped beneath the rubble.
He added that several wounded people had been transferred to hospitals, while rescue operations were continuing to search for survivors and recover those trapped under the debris.
Later in the evening, Al-Masirah’s correspondent in Al-Jawf reported that five martyrs, including a child, had arrived at Al-Hazm Hospital following the Saudi enemy’s attack, which targeted inmates, staff and visitors at the facility.
The massacre came less than an hour after Saudi enemy warplanes targeted a home in Maqbanah district, Taiz province, injuring a mother and her three daughters.
Yemeni forces repel Saudi-backed attack in Al-Bayda
Yemeni Armed Forces on Monday repelled Saudi-backed forces attempting to advance on the Dhi Na’im area of Al-Bayda province, a military source told Yemen’s official Saba news agency.
The source said that the Saudi-backed forces suffered heavy losses in personnel and equipment, while reinforcements sent to support them were also targeted.
Yemeni forces shoot down Saudi CH-4 drone over Al-Jawf
The Yemeni Armed Forces said Monday they shot down a Saudi-operated CH-4 medium-altitude, long-endurance drone over Khab wa al-Sha’af district in al-Jawf governorate, marking another such interception in recent months.
Yemeni military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said the drone was conducting what he described as hostile operations in Yemeni airspace before being downed with an “appropriate weapon.”
This is the second aircraft of this type to be downed in the past 12 hours and the fourth in the past 24 hours, according to Sare’e.
The Chinese-made CH-4 is a combat and reconnaissance drone capable of carrying guided munitions and has been used by the Saudi-led coalition since its war on Yemen began in 2015.
Yemen’s military media released images and footage showing strikes on Saudi-backed forces’ concentrations and trucks carrying military equipment from Saudi Arabia at the Al-Wadi’ah camp, using locally-produced ballistic missiles.
According to the security sources, Saudi forces renewed strikes against the provinces of Jawf, Bayda, Ma’rib, and Taiz, utilizing both airstrikes and cruise missiles.
The sources added that the same provinces had been targeted earlier in the day by a similar series of airstrikes and missile strikes.
Yemeni air defenses down third Saudi drone in less than 24 hours
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Monday the downing of an armed reconnaissance drone belonging to the Saudi enemy—a “Wing Loong 2” model—while it was conducting hostile missions over Al-Bayda province.
According to the Armed Forces spokesman, the downing came during Yemeni air defenses’ engagement with hostile activities in the province’s airspace. The drone was reportedly carrying out offensive tasks before being intercepted and shot down.
The aircraft downed over Al-Bayda today is the third drone that Yemeni forces have successfully shot down within a period of less than 24 hours—a development that underscores the continued air confrontation and the growing capability of Yemeni air defenses to counter enemy aircraft.

Forces with Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere (JTFWH) interdicted the refueling vessel used for "at-sea drug trafficking operations" in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said.

An Israeli man, around 20 years old, was seriously maimed in a stabbing attack at a West Bank farming outpost on Monday morning, and his Paleostinian assailant was rubbed out by troops after he allegedly tried to stab them after a successful manhunt.
The Israeli man was stabbed at the Maoz Yehuda settlement farm near the village of Usarin in the northern West Bank. He suffered wounds to his chest, back, and shoulders, according to medics.
The Rescuers Without Borders emergency service said the Paleostinian terrorist arrived at the scene in a vehicle, and that the Israeli came over to speak with him; then, it said, the assailant stabbed the Israeli multiple times, "until his knife broke."
From Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, the Israeli affirmed this account, saying the assailant asked him where his gun was before stabbing him. The victim was in moderate-to-serious condition as of late Monday morning.
The Paleostinian assailant expeditiously departed at a goodly pace. A video showed his van speeding away. During the escape, the attacker’s cell phone fell to the ground and was collected by Sherlocks.
After a manhunt, soldiers found the assailant near the village of Idhna. He tried to stab the soldiers and was then rubbed out by a company commander of the 411th Artillery Battalion, the army said.
Paleostinian media reported that the terrorist was 34-year-old Mohammed Mohsen.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the soldiers who hunted down the attacker, saying: "No terrorist has a safe haven."
"We will continue to eliminate terrorists, pursue those who send them, and destroy the terrorist infrastructure in Judea and Samaria," Netanyahu vowed, using biblical terminology for the West Bank.
"Anyone who tries to threaten Israel and its citizens will pay a heavy price," he said.
Yossi Dagan, chair of the Samaria Regional Council, called the attack "very severe," and called for "a broad military operation, to go house to house gathering up weapons and crushing terrorist infrastructure."
Defense Minister Israel Katz said: "Our policy in Judea and Samaria is clear: To fight Paleostinian terrorism with strength, to develop and strengthen Jewish settlement, and to preserve security."
"Terrorism in Judea and Samaria is at its lowest point in decades," he added, "and we will take all necessary steps to ensure that terrorism does not return to raise its head again."
Separately, a Palestinian man was reportedly killed after a clash between residents of a West Bank village, settlers, and IDF troops on Sunday night.
According to the Ynet news site, residents of Haje, east of Qalqilya, threw rocks at a drone that Israeli settlers had flown above the village.
When the settlers entered the village to collect the drone, they clashed with the residents, the report said.
The IDF said troops were dispatched following reports of a “confrontation” between Palestinian residents and settlers.
“The troops acted to disperse the confrontation and to take the Israeli civilians out of the village,” the army said.
“Later, a violent disturbance developed, including stone-throwing at the forces by Palestinian rioters,” the IDF said, adding that the troops carried out a “suspect arrest procedure” that included “firing into the air and then firing at key instigators.”
Omar Muhammad Tubasi, 20, was shot dead in the clashes, according to the official Palestinian Authority Wafa news outlet, which cited the PA’s Health Ministry.
The army said the incident was under further investigation.

The Northern District Attorney’s Office is slated to indict Shibli on Monday at the Nazareth-Nof Hagalil Magistrate’s Court, the statement said.
It added that this is the fourth time in recent weeks that a resident of northern Israel faces an indictment for allegedly joining Islamic State.
"The Shin Bet and Israel Police act resolutely against any activity that endangers the security of the state and its citizens, and against any activity in which Israeli citizens seek to act against Israelis on behalf of a terrorist organization," the security agencies said.
Last week, a former IDF soldier was charged with training to fight abroad with ISIS. The Haifa District Attorney’s Office filed an indictment against Khamis Sawaed, a resident of the northern Bedouin village of Hussniyya in his 30s, at the city’s Magistrate’s Court along with a request to keep him in jug until the end of the legal proceedings. Sawaed indicated during police interrogation that he had watched how-to videos on warfare and missile and drone production out of "identification with the Islamic State terror group," according to the Shin Bet and police.
According to the indictment filed against Sawaed and cited in Hebrew-language media, he served in the IDF from 2017 to 2019, but in 2023 became interested in ISIS. He then began watching the training videos in 2024, after deciding he would eventually go abroad, either to Syria or somewhere in Africa, to fight alongside the group.
And late last month, two teenagers from the Galilee were also indicted for planning ISIS-inspired attacks against security forces.
The first suspect to be arrested, on August 4, was a 16-year-old resident of the Galilee. An investigation revealed that he was searching online for instructions on how to prepare boom belts, and that he "intended to carry out an attack against coppers and Jewish soldiers on the Temple Mount," the statement alleged.
Several days later, as the investigation progressed, another suspect was arrested. He was identified as Ibrahim Kaabia, 19, a resident of Haifa. Kaabia also swore allegiance to ISIS and was planning to attack an army base in northern Israel, police said.
Dozens of Arab citizens have been arrested in recent years on suspicion of plotting attacks on behalf of Islamic State, including five residents of Taybe who allegedly plotted to set off a boom-mobile at Tel Aviv’s Azrieli mall in 2024.

Later on Monday, troops of the Golani Brigade’s Reconnaissance Unit were carrying out scans in the Beaufort area when a Hezbollah gunman hiding inside a building opened fire on them, according to the army.
Two of the soldiers were lightly injured and were taken to a hospital for treatment. The IDF said their families were notified.
The soldiers returned fire and carried out artillery shelling toward the building, killing the Hezbollah gunman, according to the military.
The IDF said it struck other Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon in response to the gunfire, including weapon depots and command centers.
The latest strikes came after Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon on Sunday killed seven people and maimed 20 others, according to Lebanese authorities, after Hezbollah launched two explosive drones at Israeli troops operating in the area.
Israeli forces remain deployed inside what Israel describes as a "security zone" extending roughly 10 kilometers (6 miles) into southern Lebanon along the border.
Israel and Lebanon signed a US-brokered framework agreement on June 26 aimed at paving the way toward an eventual peace deal.
