A newly formed armed faction, the Free Yemen Movement, has declared an uprising against the Houthis from inside Sanaa, stating:
“We announce an armed uprising against the Houthi movement from within Sanaa due to the crimes committed by Iran and the Houthis.”
The group says the revolt comes in response to:
“This uprising comes in response to the Houthis’ starvation, looting, theft, and killing of Yemenis, as well as their violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and implementation of Iranian directives.”

This meant that many of their responses to news events became outdated almost immediately.
Modern chatbots have solved this problem by searching the internet and curating fresh content to answer questions about current events, including midterm elections and candidates. "There's a certain panic around this because we understand so little about it, and everything changes so quickly." "Even if there are people who claim to understand it, even if they've mastered some techniques, the volatile and unpredictable nature of LLMs means it's very difficult to control," said Beth Simone Noveck, a professor at Northeastern University who studies democracy and artificial intelligence tools known as large language models (LLMs).
Politicians also weigh another risk: being tainted by AI-generated search results that are not only unflattering but also downright inaccurate. Researchers from the British think tank Demos found that many chatbots invented candidates, fabricated accusations of nepotism, or invented financial scandals. Israel took the unusual step on Monday of speaking out against a draft of the platform of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s Labor Party, criticizing it as being one-sided and not giving enough attention to the responsibility of the Paleostinian Authority and Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... in the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict.
In what media reports framed as highly unconventional involvement by a foreign power in the internal activities of a political party, the Israeli Embassy in Canberra issued a lengthy statement detailing its issues with the draft, which is to be debated at a Labor Party national conference later this week.
It said, "the embassy respectfully submits that several elements of the draft platform risk placing responsibility for the conflict on one party while giving insufficient attention to the decisions, conduct and continuing obligations of the Paleostinian leadership and terrorist organizations such as Hamas."
Israel "remains committed to a future in which Israelis and Paleostinians live alongside one another in peace and security," the statement continued. "That future, however, cannot be built through unilateral political declarations or international pressure directed at only one side."
The embassy said it "notes these policy motions are still in draft form, and will continue to engage constructively with the Australian Labor Party through the usual diplomatic channels."
In an interview with ABC Radio National, Employment Minister Amanda Rishworth said the matter is up to the party to debate internally, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
"We have unequivocally condemned Hamas, including for the atrocities of the 7th of October and its ongoing acts of terror," the minister said. "We want to see a two-state solution in which Israelis and Paleostinians can live in secure borders, and I think our prime minister and our government’s been pretty clear about that."
The draft up for consideration has more to say about the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict than the previous platform document from 2023. That had just a few lines which dealt with recognition of a Paleostinian state, something the Australian government followed through with in September 2025.

It also said that "those seeking peace would be better served to focus its scrutiny on the terrorism experienced by both Jewish and Arab Israelis at the hands of terrorist groups such as Hamas."
According to the UK Guardian newspaper, an earlier version of the draft had the line "Hamas must disarm and can have no role in the State of Paleostine," but that clause was dropped from the draft that will be brought to the conference.
"Any reduction of pressure on Hamas and its redirection towards Israel will continue to empower the terrorist organization," the embassy said.
The Australian Palestinian Advocacy Network (APAN) is lobbying for the draft to take a sterner stance against Israel, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
“That means ending defense exports that risk contributing to atrocities, confronting the illegal settlement enterprise, and ensuring Australia meets its obligations under international law,” said APAN executive officer Katie Shammas.
Israel’s relations with Australia have been tense in the years following the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led invasion of southern Israel that sparked the war in the Gaza Strip. (Reuters) - Italian police clashed with demonstrators in the northern city of Bologna on Monday, ANSA news agency reported, during a protest over a man's death after officers tried to arrest him.
Abderrahim Fakir, a Moroccan-born entrepreneur who ran a small removals and cleaning business, died on Sunday after police were called to deal with a man behaving aggressively and damaging a vehicle, Italian media said.
Footage of the incident filmed by a resident and widely shared online prompted hundreds of people to protest. According to ANSA, some threw a firecracker near police buildings in the city and police reacted using tear gas and water cannons.
"The chants of 'police murderers' and 'the whole world hates you,' shouted during a demonstration in Bologna ... are disgraceful," said Tommaso Foti, the European affairs minister in the government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The video showed Fakir lying face down on the ground while two officers restrained him. He could be heard repeatedly calling for help and struggling for breath before his movements gradually stopped.
ANSA also reported that a group of demonstrators sat down in a square holding a photograph of Fakir, describing the action as a gesture of nonviolent protest.

Jack Tensley, who has described himself as an "organizer" with PSL, testified before the Frederick County Planning Commission in January, raising concerns about the plans’ cost, energy use and liability.
"My really big fear here is the security risk. We have infrastructure attacks and failures, cyberattacks that happen — I want to know if this puts a target on the back of Frederick County," Tensley said. "I see a lot of risk here."
Alongside his many concerns, Tensley’s testimony — taken in light of his connection to PSL and, by extension, the China-based Singham network — is emblematic of larger questions about data center expansion.
As America races to build the infrastructure needed to power artificial intelligence, community fights over zoning and electricity have raised concerns that larger political groups are attempting to amplify opposition to U.S. AI infrastructure through local influence campaigns.
PSL, in particular, has come under scrutiny.
The group describes itself as a political party that organizes around anti-war, labor immigration and socialist causes, according to its website.
"The Party for Socialism and Liberation exists to carry out the struggle for socialism inside the United States," PSL states. "Capitalism is a failed system that, in its insatiable appetite for ever greater profits, threatens global ecological destruction."
The Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI), a nonpartisan cryptocurrency think tank, found that PSL has organized anti-data center campaigns in at least 14 states, opposing roughly $23.6 billion in AI investments.
But more than that, BPI highlighted ties with Shanghai-based businessman Neville Roy Singham, citing overlapping leadership between PSL and several nonprofits Singham has funded. Singham, 72, has faced congressional scrutiny over his reported ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Singham sold his tech company for $800 million in 2017 and now lives in Shanghai. He has been accused of funding pro-Chinese Communist Party groups that operate in the U.S. In the past, he has funneled $278 million into the broad network of nonprofits since 2017, according to a Fox News Digital investigation. These groups regularly organize and participate in anti-ICE, anti-Israel and pro-Iran demonstrations.
Some lawmakers, like Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., have asked the Department of Justice to probe the network.

[Yahoo] Andrew Arrabaca, a 43-year-old Army veteran, was identified Monday as the man who deployed an incendiary device outside 26 Federal Plaza in lower Manhattan, a federal building housing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the FBI's New York field office, and other agencies. The Jacob K. Javits Federal Office Building.
Federal Protective Service officers arrested Arrabaca shortly after the device ignited around 8:30 a.m., causing a fire and minor injuries to at least two people. The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the incident as an anti-government attack.
SUSPECT BACKGROUND AND ITEMS RECOVERED
Law enforcement sources confirmed Arrabaca, a former U.S. Army mechanic, pushed a cart to the building's entrance containing fireworks, a flammable liquid, airsoft rifles, a pellet gun, a knife, a hammer, and a sign reading "ICE Off Our Streets."
He poured an accelerant on the front steps and ignited it using fireworks, officials said. Arrabaca also fired pellet rounds toward the building before officers tackled him. A Federal Protective Service officer sustained minor injuries during the arrest.
During the arrest, Arrabaca yelled derogatory terms directed at ICE. Investigators recovered anti-enforcement materials from the scene and described him as having ties to anti-enforcement activism.
INCIDENT RESPONSE AND INJURIES
Officials reported minor, non-life-threatening injuries to two or three people (some accounts cite up to four including responders), with at least one transported, per CBS News. No serious injuries or fatalities occurred, and officials stated there is no ongoing threat to the public. Nearby streets were temporarily closed during the response.
FBI officials described Arrabaca as an "anti-American, anti-government bad boy." The Joint Terrorism Task Force, along with the FBI New York field office and the Southern District of New York, continues to investigate.

Trump pulled the surprise on Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney after he met the liberal leader on Sunday at the World Cup final – where the two appeared chummy.
Carney responded Monday night saying that the tariffs have hurt people on both sides of the border and that he was ready to work to strengthen his country and support Canadian workers.
The White House said in a fact sheet that the tariffs would go into effect in 30 days and cover 'products ranging from wine to hockey sticks to cement.'
The official said that Trump had also requested that his aides look into additional tariffs on Canada because its wildfires hurt air quality in the US after Trump said they were 'coming in and poisoning our air.'
It came after the President declared that Canada has unfairly discriminated against American autos, alcohol and dairy products.
The move could unleash a new wave of economic chaos, with risks of higher inflation and further fraying of relations between two nations that had been closely woven together before Trump's return to the White House.
The administration official previewing the action said that Canada was one of the only nations other than China that retaliated against Trump's previous tariffs and must be held accountable.
The official insisted on anonymity on a call with reporters to preview the president's actions and said that Trump signed three proclamations to launch the tariffs under Section 338 of the 1930 Trade Act.
Several Democratic lawmakers last year proposed repealing the section because they said Trump could use it to destabilize the economy.
The 50 percent tariffs would exclude energy products, potash, fish and critical minerals, but they would include goods that had previously been protected from import taxes by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA.
That 2020 trade pact recently expired and triggered a new set of negotiations that could run until 2036.
'Canada believes in the benefits of free and fair trade, as evidenced by our new government signing more than 20 new economic and security partnerships,' Carney said in a statement.
'This trade dispute has raised costs for families, particularly in the U.S. Canada stands ready to engage intensively to address outstanding issues with the U.S. to the mutual benefit of our citizens,' he added.
'In all circumstances, Canada will work relentlessly and take any measures necessary to build our strength at home and to support Canadian workers, farmers, businesses, and families.'
Ontario Premier Doug Ford saw a possible showdown ahead.

Trump announced Sunday night that he had spoken with the prime minister about the wildfires in Ontario that have caused massive plumes of smoke to blanket cities across the States.
The President said the conversation at the World Cup final went well, 'But I told him, 'You've got to stop these fires from coming in and poisoning our air.' Our air's being poisoned.
'I have a good relationship with Mark Carney, but you know, we got to stop the fires up there,' Trump said.
'If we can help them, we'll help them - but maybe they should pay us some damages or something, or [we] should do some tariffs,' he then threatened.
Trump went on to call the smoke 'terrible,' specifically pointing out the situation in Detroit, Michigan, where assembly line workers at Ford Motor's Michigan Assembly Plant were sent by ambulance to nearby hospitals on Thursday, according to the Detroit Free Press.
But the poor air quality was felt in other parts of the country as well, with smoky conditions being felt in Washington, DC and New York City on Thursday evening.

That is equivalent to more than half the length of the coastal strip, which is some 40 kilometers (25 miles) long and 11 kilometers (7 miles) wide, and home to over 2 million Palestinians.
When presented with the satellite images, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed to The Associated Press it has built a physical barrier in the area of the Yellow Line, the boundary to which Israeli troops withdrew under the October ceasefire deal with Hamas. The line was envisioned in the US-backed agreement as a temporary division of the territory pending a fuller Israeli withdrawal.
But as the truce stagnates, with Hamas refusing to demilitarize and give up control of the Strip, it appears Israel is digging in, heightening Palestinian fears that the line is morphing into a border.
Neither US Central Command, which is tasked with monitoring the ceasefire, nor the Board of Peace, the body led by US President Donald Trump meant to eventually oversee Gaza, would comment on the barrier.

The top official was the chief negotiator for the terror group during ceasefire-hostage release talks to end the war in Gaza, which began after the October 7 Hamas-led onslaught and massacre in 2023.
He has also served on the five-member leadership council that has led Hamas since the 2024 killing of former leader Yahya Sinwar, the chief architect of the October 7 attack.
Al-Hayya is closely tied to the Gaza Strip, where Hamas controls part of the territory and much of the population. Born in Gaza City in 1960 and raised there, he spent his entire life in the territory until the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led invasion and massacre in southern Israel.
Just days before the attack, he left the Strip along with other senior figures in Hamas’s Gaza-based political bureau and relocated to Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. He survived a controversial Israeli liquidation attempt in Doha last year, though one of his sons was killed in the strike. Another son of his was killed earlier this year in an Israeli strike in Gaza.
"Khalil al-Hayya was elected by an overwhelming majority," a senior Hamas official told AFP, adding that he is expected to formally assume the role next week.
"The political bureau will meet in Istanbul within days to form committees and begin restructuring Hamas’s leadership bodies," the official added.
The official said the current five-member leadership council will be dissolved, with its members submitting their resignations to the group’s senior Shura Council.
The election was not transparent.
"The election process was conducted through a highly complex and secretive mechanism because of the difficult security situation and the occupation’s liquidation of several political and military leaders," a source in Hamas said, referring to Israel. The group likewise did not publish any details of the margin of al-Hayya’s election victory over Mashaal.
Representatives of Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, also declared their "full support" for al-Hayya.
Until Sinwar’s killing, al-Hayya served as his deputy — effectively making him deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau in Gaza. After Sinwar’s death, Hamas referred to al-Hayya as the group’s leader in Gaza, even though al-Hayya is not in Gaza and no formal internal elections were held for that position.
During the war, al-Hayya became one of Hamas’s more recognizable public faces, appearing before cameras to deliver key speeches on behalf of the terror group at major moments.
He also led negotiations for a ceasefire, building something of a rapport with Trump envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, reflecting his senior standing and international cachet.
Regarding his policy direction, al-Hayya is seen as continuing that approach within Hamas and maintaining ties with Tehran, unlike his chief election rival Mashaal, who has fallen out with Iran and favors ties to Gulf Arab states and improved relations with the Paleostinian Authority.
HAMAS AT A CROSSROADS
Stepping into the top role, al-Hayya finds the terror group at a crossroads, with Gaza in ruins and amid negotiations with mediators over the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire, which has all but completely stalled due to the group’s refusal to disarm and Israel’s desire to hold off on major decisions in, or withdrawals from, the Strip until after the Israeli election in October.
The first phase of the US-backed deal reached last October involved the release of the last Israeli hostages held by Hamas in exchange for Paleostinians security prisoners held by Israel. The second phase called for Hamas’s disarmament and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, to be replaced with an international security force.
Hamas is demanding the establishment of a Paleostinian administration there before it will consider handing over any part of its arsenal.
The question of Gaza’s postwar governance remains one of the main sticking points in negotiations over implementing phase two. Israel rejects any Hamas return to power, but also rejects a direct takeover by the Ramallah-based Paleostinian Authority, which it accuses of supporting terrorism.
Last month, Hamas officially ceded its governmental control of Gaza to the technocratic National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, a Paleostinian committee set up through the US President Donald Trump ...The cad! The NCAG has remained based outside Gaza for months, reportedly due to Israeli objections to its entering the war-devastated territory.
The move appeared intended to demonstrate that the terror group is willing to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to the technocrats, and marked a significant political shift by Hamas, which has run Gaza since it violent mostly peacefully seized control from rival Paleostinian movement Fatah, which dominates the PA, in 2007.

[NY Post] Israeli intelligence officials believe Iran moved thousands of centrifuges used to enrich uranium deep inside the so-called “Pickaxe Mountain” site this past fall, raising fears that the Islamic Republic can quickly reconstitute its nuclear program.
The intelligence has been passed to the US, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, though it is unclear what, if any, action will come from it.
The deeply buried installation is just minutes from the Natanz nuclear facility, one of three hit by US airstrikes in June 2025. The Wall Street Journal, citing experts, reported that the complex is between 300 and 450 feet beneath solid rock, with enough room to accommodate several nuclear-related facilities.
David Albright, president of the Washington, DC-based Institute for Science and International Security, told the Journal the Israeli assessment was “plausible” — noting that nonstop activity has continued around Pickaxe Mountain for 15 months.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director Rafael Grossi said in March that Tehran had announced its “intention to have nuclear activity” at Pickaxe Mountain in 2021, but has provided no details since.
Iran is believed to have produced close to 1,000 pounds of 60% enriched material, near weapons-grade levels.
“A covert breakout is the worst-case scenario,” said Nate Swanson, a former National Security Council director for Iran during the Biden administration, using the term for when Iran achieves nuclear weapons capability.

United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Saturday that two American service members were killed in action and one other service member was missing after a base in Jordan was hit by Iranian ballistic missiles and drones. The "Sunday Morning Futures" host questioned how the strike could have inflicted casualties after President Donald Trump claimed Iran’s military had been "obliterated."
"I don’t understand how it’s possible that Iran has the capabilities to fight this way and continue to try to lash out at Gulf countries and U.S. military bases because the U.S. has obliterated Iran’s military and the president continues to reiterate that," Bartiromo told Coates. The former deputy national security adviser who served during Trump’s first term responded, "Yes, and if you look at the numbers of missiles that they’ve been able to fire off from the beginning of this war — you know, late February, early March — and what they’re able to do now, it is very seriously degraded."
CENTCOM subsequently announced Sunday that a U.S. service member in northern Iraq had been killed Saturday while trying to neutralize "unexploded ordnance" from an Iranian drone. In addition, unidentified remains found at the base in Jordan attacked by Iran were under "an examination process."

Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said in a statement that the two diplomats were targeted by the Iranian officials late Sunday, "in flagrant violation of diplomatic immunity."
Both were "detained for several hours without reason, interrogated, and one of them was physically abused" before they were able to return to the embassy, he said.
They were now safe and expected to return to La Belle France within hours, Barrot added.
"The assault is all the more shocking given these two officials oversee our programs supporting civil society, particularly Iranian artists and scientists," he said.

The Lebanese army began preparations to take charge of security in three southern villages Monday, as a deal to eventually secure an Israeli withdrawal from south Leb ...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... and the disarmament of Hezbollah faced its first test on the ground.The US State Department announced the commencement of "pilot zone operations," where Lebanese Armed Forces are slated to deploy in place of withdrawing Israeli troops. Notably, two of the three villages mentioned do not have Israeli forces located in them.
An unnamed senior Israeli official told the Axios outlet that the Israel Defense Forces will make its first withdrawal on Tuesday. The IDF is set to withdraw and redeploy forces in one of the two pilot zones, in the Zawtar al-Gharbiya area, to enable the Lebanese army to enter.
"Today, pilot zone operations began in the villages of Froun, Srifa, and Zawtar al-Gharbiya, in accordance with the Trilateral Framework and under the auspices of the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon," the US State Department said in a statement.
Froun and Srifa are located in the first of two pilot zones earmarked for the LAF’s deployment, as part of the framework deal Israel and Lebanon reached last month. That pilot zone is located outside of the IDF’s buffer zone in southern Lebanon, meaning that no Israeli troops will need to withdraw.
The second pilot zone straddles both sides of the IDF buffer zone. Zawtar al-Gharbiya is inside Israel’s buffer zone. Israeli forces currently stationed there will be required to withdraw under the agreement.
In a statement, the IDF said it was conducting "coordination and planning" with the US military and LAF as part of the pilot program in southern Lebanon. "In accordance with the directives from the political echelon, the "Safe Zone" pilot program began today (Monday) in southern Lebanon, in cooperation with the U.S. military (CENTCOM) and the Lebanese Armed Forces," the IDF said.
It added that as part of the pilot, "teams from the IDF, the US military, and the Lebanese Armed Forces are conducting coordination and planning for the continued implementation of the agreement."
The LAF, in its own statement, said that "coordination is underway" with the US-led trilateral Military Coordination Group for Lebanon for the deployment of its forces in Zawtar al-Gharbiya, "following the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from it."
It also warned Lebanese civilians not to head to the town "and to comply with the instructions of the deployed military units to ensure their safety."
The Lebanese army said it was also continuing to carry out patrol missions in Froun and Srifa.
The State Department did not specify what it meant by pilot zone operations beginning, but was apparently referring to the deployment of LAF forces in those three villages.
"This milestone is a direct outcome of last week’s discussions between Israel and Lebanon in Rome. The United States will continue working closely with both parties to implement the framework to a successful conclusion," the State Department statement said.
The framework, signed by Lebanon, Israel, and the United States on June 26, after several rounds of direct negotiations, envisions a phased Israeli pullback from positions in south Lebanon.
In exchange, the Lebanese Armed Forces are to assume sole security control of vacated areas and certify that they have been cleared of Hezbollah weapons and infrastructure.
The pilot zones are intended to try out the approach in a handful of villages straddling the Litani River before it is extended to other areas.
The Israeli military sees the pilot program as a test of illusory sovereignty for the Lebanese army.
Hezbollah’s forces long held sway in southern Lebanon before the area was taken by the IDF. The Iran-backed terror group has rejected the framework, insisting any arrangement in Lebanon be linked to wider negotiations between Washington and Tehran. It has not said whether it will resist implementation of the pilot zones in the designated areas.
In the event of violations of the ceasefire by Hezbollah, the IDF said it will work with a US-led coordination cell to resolve them.
The agreement does not set a timetable for Israel’s withdrawal, and the process of the withdrawal itself has not yet been decided, according to a military official.

The IRGC added that those operations resulted in "the killing of dozens of US terrorist forces."
