[FOX] A North Carolina man was arrested outside a church armed with crossbows, two flamethrowers and 500 rounds of ammunition, police said.
The High Point Police Department wrote in a news release that someone called 911 on Sunday to report an "armed person sitting in the parking lot" of Wesley Memorial Church in High Point, North Carolina.
The caller said the man, William S. Milliken III, 44, was armed with a gun and wearing camouflage.
An off-duty officer at the church spotted the suspect immediately and, with help from officers who arrived within minutes, took him into custody.
After Milliken was arrested, officers searched his truck and found two flamethrowers, two crossbows, over 500 rounds of ammunition, rolls of black duct tape, three knives, oxycodone pills and a carbon dioxide-powered launcher designed to resemble a handgun, police said.
According to WFMY, court documents also allege that the suspect had a notebook with addresses of churches, schools and public buildings, GPS coordinates, body armor, radios with police scanners, handcuff keys as well as an enlarged map of North Carolina.
An off-duty police officer in attendance first confronted the man, 44-year-old William S. Milliken III, who falsely represented himself as a police officer there to enforce a smoking violation.
He is being held at the Guilford County Courthouse. Milliken's first appearance was June 29 at 2 p.m. He was denied bond, and his next court date is July 24 at 8:15 a.m.
Court documents cite the reason for bond denial is that he "has a love for guns".
The document also stated "Per High Point Police, reason to believe defendant is deemed a danger to public because he has experience with bombs, believed to have mental issues."

An accused transgender terror plotter who allegedly planned a massacre at a Las Vegas-area casino had threatened a mass shooting years earlier, according to chilling audio recordings released by police.
Allison Howlett, 36, who was born male but lives as a woman, was arrested Saturday with a massive cache of guns and ammunition in a casino parking garage in Henderson just outside Las Vegas.
The suspect’s former spouse had called police to report that Howlett intended to commit “suicide by cop” or carry out a mass shooting, Henderson Police Chief Reggie Rader said.

The report details that local law enforcement notified the Secret Service of a 'suspicious person' on the roof at 6:09 pm. Trump was shot at eight times at 6:11 pm.
'The Secret Service’s overall lack of policy and processes coupled with limited intelligence sharing and poor collaboration and communication with protectee staff and state and local law enforcement set the conditions that led to missing opportunities to prevent and detect the attempted assassination,' the OIG report said.
The OIG report is based on 92 interviews, more than 70,000 documents, and a 3D model used used to reconstruct the event site and to identify the locations of individuals before, during, and after the shooting.
It found that the Secret Service failed to detect Crooks's drone flight used to view the campaign event stage - citing both an under-trained operator, who had received just 20 minutes of informal training - as well as a broken ethernet cable that was fixed roughly one half-hour after Crooks had already flown his drone over the site, undetected.

Most notable here is that my internet search found nothing on this subject from any of the mainsteam media outlets. One of the most disturbing aspects of this story is the utter lack of curiosity on the part of mainstream media hacks. I call them hacks because I don't consider them to be honest journalists. Instead, they all seem to be lazy, stupid and dishonest. They don't seem to know that conspiracy theories thrive when there is a lack of credible information. [Breitbart] Wednesday on FNC’s "The Ingraham Angle," Government Accountability Institute president Peter Schweizer reacted to the Supreme Court’s birthright citizenship ruling.
According to Schweizer, author of "The Invisible Coup," the depth of birth tourism is unclear, noting that the Chinese government boasts of more than 1 million Chinese who have U.S. citizenship as a product of birthright citizenship.
"Peter, in The Hill today, they claim that birth tourism schemes are rare," host Laura Ingraham said. "Is that true?"
Schweizer replied, "No. According to the Chinese government itself, they believe that every year, on average, since 2013, roughly 100,000 Chinese babies have been born in the United States. That is a government estimate from China. Yes. Research firms in China put that number sometimes even higher. The problem is our federal government doesn’t know. We don’t track this. They don’t put on a birth certificate the nationality of the parents. So, that’s the inherent problem. We don’t know the scope of it, but China says it’s massive."
"And that means since 2013, Laura, we’re looking at potentially more than 1 million, quote-unquote, ’U.S. citizens’ that are being raised in China," he added. "They’re citizens only because their mothers came here to give birth."

The Swift observatory detects some of the most powerful explosions in the Universe - but is at risk of crashing back to Earth in the coming months.
The small space telescope will be intercepted by the LINK craft, which will attempt to grab it with three robotic arms, and try and lift it back to a safe orbit.
The rescue mission, launched on Friday, has never been attempted before, and Dr Simeon Barber, a space scientist, has said it is "high risk".
"But Nasa obviously thinks it's worth a go. And the science community is hopeful about this because it's an important telescope that enables us to study super high-energy phenomena that we have no other means to study," said Barber, a senior research fellow at the Open University.
[USA Today] The Trump administration has tapped a Harvard professor with controversial theories about aliens to lead a team of scientists in studying UFOs for the government.
Avi Loeb, who served as the Chair of the Department of Astronomy until 2020, will head the new "UAP Science Advisory Council." The council will "advise the U.S. government on how to resolve the nature of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs)," Loeb said on Medium.
The Council’s creation is part of President Donald Trump’s efforts to increase government transparency around UFOs. In May and June, the Pentagon released three batches of "never-before-seen" files on unidentified flying objects.
WHO IS AVI LOEB?
Loeb is the Frank B. Baird, Jr., Professor of Science at Harvard University. He was the longest serving chair of the Department of Astronomy, serving from 2011 — 2020, and is currently the Director of the Institute for Theory and Computation.

[FOX] Scientists at the University of Minnesota say they have built the most life-like synthetic cell yet, creating a laboratory-made system assembled entirely from nonliving components that can grow, replicate its genetic material, divide and even pass beneficial traits to future generations.
The researchers describe the work as a major step toward building artificial life but said the synthetic cells cannot survive outside carefully controlled laboratory conditions and require externally supplied nutrients and specialized components to grow and divide.
"One of the most ambitious and fascinating goals of bioengineering is to build a biochemical system that could cross the threshold from chemistry to life," the researchers wrote. They said the work demonstrates "the first minimal cell with a cell cycle, genetically encoded growth and division, all coupled to selection and competition."
The researchers call the synthetic cell "SpudCell." Unlike earlier approaches that started with living organisms, SpudCell was assembled from chemically defined, nonliving components.
Its 90,000-base-pair genome enables the synthetic cell to produce proteins, replicate its DNA, feed, grow and divide into daughter cells.
