[NYP] Actor Alec Baldwin will no longer face any criminal charges for his involvement in the fatal "Rust" movie set shooting, but he will be heading back to court once again.
A Los Angeles judge ruled on Friday that a civil case against the 68-year-old actor will move forward to trial.
Baldwin’s manslaughter criminal case for the tragic October 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was dismissed in July 2024, after a judge ruled that prosecutors withheld evidence.

Now in its second year, the CULEX focuses on building confidence, teamwork and leadership skills rather than testing cadets with a pass-or-fail system. It's a multi-domain tactical exercise designed to replicate the environments future Space Force and Air Force officers may encounter.
"For our seniors, in 44 days, they're going to graduate, and they're going to go off, and they're going to be officers in our Space Force and Air Force — how much more equipped they're going to be to lead, to face complicated problems, to know that they can do what's difficult," said Hall.

[Federalist] They call him the "Minnesota Millionaire," a wealthy retiree who helped expose how a loophole in the food stamp program is being abused and screwing taxpayers out of billions of dollars.
"I like to say I audited the program. And what better way to audit the program than to be a part of it?" Rob Undersander told The Federalist in a phone interview this week.
Over the past decade, the retired engineer has been a crusader against the federal Broad-Based Categorical Eligibility (BBCE) policy, a welfare enhancer with roots in the Clinton administration that has incentivized wholesale theft from U.S. taxpayers ever since. Undersander has worked alongside the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) to end the BBCE loophole and prevent millionaires like himself from tapping into benefits they have no business receiving.
In a new video exclusively provided to The Federalist, FGA breaks down the scam that more than 40 states have used to balloon the nation’s welfare rolls. The foundation calls it "fraud by design."
"In fact, millions of food stamp recipients exceed the federal asset or income limits," the video explains. Roughly one in five of those Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients count assets of $100,000 or more, the FGA notes.

Under the proposed rule, undergraduate programs will have to prove that degree recipients earn at least as much as a high school graduate before being eligible for student loan funding. Similarly, graduate school programs will need to prove higher earnings than an average bachelor’s degree. The average high school graduate is estimated to earn about $40,000, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. 'Male synchronized swimming' I dropped it as a minor in the first semester.
"Programs that routinely fail to provide students with a reliable return on investment would lose access to federal student loans, and in certain cases, Pell Grants," the department said.
Though the average high school graduate salary target is a fairly low bar, a Department of Education official told The Federalist that there are college programs that will get cut because the return on investment is so low. It also means that important degrees like liberal arts, philosophy, and history — areas where conservatives are severely lacking, leaving leftists in control of the American historical narrative — will likely be safeguarded.

Every college degree program should be required to produce a prospectus. They should be liable for civil penalties if the information in the prospecus is found to be misleading.
Prospective students would then have the information they need when deciding on a major. As things are now, it's hard to blame kids just out of high school for choosing a worthless liberal arts program. Nobody tells them they'll be poor if they pursue such degrees. In fact, high school counselors encourage them to go for it. It'd be nice if they knew the truth before they wasted four years and got themselves heavily into debt.

My comment wasn't to disparage those majors, just note that the economic job opportunities are so small that subsidizing those departments only leads to permanent academia paid for by the taxpayers and those crying for relief for unpayable student loans
