[Red State] Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott is demanding that Joe Biden close a federal migrant facility that it threw up in San Antonio to house illegal alien children.
Abbott announced at a press conference that he’d received information that the children at the Freeman Coliseum facility were being sexually abused. There are 1370 children at the facility, according to the Daily Mail.
Abbott explained that complaints had come into the Department of Health and Human Services as well as the Texas Department of Family and Protective services listing four different kinds of child abuse. The agencies then informed the state political leadership including him.

[NYPOST] A Brooklyn man was busted Wednesday for attacking Asian people in two separate attacks in New York, police said.
Joseph Russo, 27, was hit with hate crime charges for both incidents — allegedly shoving an elderly man to the ground on Monday morning and assaulting a 32-year-old woman last month, according to the NYPD.
In the most recent incident, Russo is accused of randomly pushing a 77-year-old man while he looked at vegetables for sale in front of the J&R NY Supermarket in Sheepshead Bay.
Surveillance footage showed the maniac snatching a bouquet of flowers from an outdoor store display and chucking it across the sidewalk before setting his sight on his victim.
Two weeks earlier, on March 22, the hateful creep yanked the hair of a woman walking on Kings Highway in Homecrest — in another unprovoked daytime attack.
Video released by cops allegedly showed Russo brazenly dragging his victim by the hair for a few feet before letting go.
He then struck a wall with his hand and walked away.
The victims refused medical attention in both of the attacks. The woman suffered pain to her head and neck and the man was left with bruises on his left arm.
Russo is facing charges of assault as a hate crime and harassment as a hate crime in each of the incidents, cops said.

FOX News bows to pressure - In response to President Biden’s complaint that FOX News doesn’t show enough Black and Hispanic people on their network.
FOX has announced that they will now air "America's Most Wanted " TWICE a week.
[EpochTimes] Since January, 261 Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, prison inmates have requested transfers to prisons aligning with their gender identity, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation told the Daily Caller News Foundation Tuesday.
Democratic California Gov. Gavin can't be Bee'd Newsom ...mayor of San Franciscoas it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of Californiaas it transforms itself into Cinderland... signed S.B. 132 into law in January, a bill that requires the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) to ask every individual entering the department’s custody to specify their pronouns, their gender identity, and whether they identify as transgender, nonbinary, or intersex.
The law prevents CDCR from disciplining the individual if that individual refuses to give this information, allows for the information to be updated later on, and requires staff to use the gender pronouns that the individual requested.
It also requires that CDCR house the individual in a "correctional facility designated for men or women based on the individual’s preference." Similar legislation has been passed in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Since the bill went into effect in January, 261 inmates have requested "gender-based housing" transfers, the CDCR told the DCNF Tuesday. The vast majority of these requests were from inmates requesting to be transferred to female facilities, and only six inmates did not request to be in a women’s facility.
"255 are from transgender women and non-binary incarcerated people who are requesting to be housed in a female institution and six are from transgender men and non-binary incarcerated people who are requesting to be housed in a male institution," Deputy Press Secretary Terry Thornton told the DCNF.
CDCR has not denied a single gender-based housing request, the front man confirmed.
The CDCR has approved 21 of the requests, and four of these 21 have been transferred to Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla.
"Two of the 21 have changed their minds," Thornton said. The front man said that as of April 2, 1,129 incarcerated people self-identify as transgender, non-binary, and intersex.
Prison inmates at Chowchilla told the Los Angeles Times that "men are coming" and that the prisoners should anticipate sexual violence.
"That if we think it’s bad now, be prepared for the worst. That it’s going to be off the hook, it’s going to be jumping," 41-year-old Tomiekia Johnson told the publication that staffers said. "They say we’re going to need a facility that’s going to be like a maternity ward. They say we’re going to have an inmate program where inmates become nannies."
Prisoners fear that inmates requesting transfers are lying about their gender identity in order to be transferred to women’s prisons, the LA Times reported. This has slowed down the transfer process, according to the publication.
Thornton told the LA Times that meetings and discussions "have helped to dispel any fears" and that "a person’s gender identity is self-reported and CDCR will evaluate any request submitted by an incarcerated person for gender-based housing."
The prison system requested several million dollars from California for implementing the law, Thornton said.

I'll do it for $20. I'm a veteran, not a veterinarian or a doctor. The only tools i have are a utility knife, a pair of hedge clippers, and some wire cutters. But that should do it.

[RT] United Airlines has been skewered on social media after announcing that it hopes to recruit more ’diverse’ pilots, prompting many to accuse the company of abandoning merit-based hiring practices to appeal to the woke mob. I think I'd rather fly on planes whose pilots did best on their aptitude tests.
The carrier announced on Tuesday that it would begin accepting applications for its new flight academy, saying it aimed to train and hire 5,000 pilots over the next decade, with half of them being women and people of color. The school is "built to accommodate" trainees of all skill levels, including individuals with no prior flying experience, according to a statement released by United.
The enrollment goals reflect the company’s desire to "diversify our pilot ranks and create new opportunities for thousands of women and people of color who want to pursue a career in aviation," CEO Scott Kirby explained.

Data confirm that female and minority candidates are at higher risk for attrition in UPT, stemming fromeliminations due to flying performance.
In other words, the US Air Force has tried and failed for years to accept a larger number (it's minuscule at present and always has been) of black and female pilot candidates. The reason? They don't know to fly. They're.shitty.pilots.

/\ Lengthy and dated (a 27 year old study), but revealing nonetheless. Student questionaire contained the following data:
8. What race do you consider yourself?
Categories of (Active - Guard/Reserve - Total)
a. White 88% 100% 90%
b. Black 2% 0% 2%
c. American Indian 2% 0% 2%
d, Eskmo or Aleut 0% 0% 0%
e. Aslan/Pac Islander 1% 0% 1%
f. Other: 7% 0 6%
Page 28 contained this rather humorous (racist by today's standards) comment:
San Antnio and Environs, Some have suggested that part of the SOMED attrition
problem is that the Fort Sam Houston/San Antonio location is too distracting for some
of the SOMED students. The likely factors would include: San Antonio's "Fiesta" atmosphere, the non-military campus like setting of AMEDDC&S, and the relatively high number of women at AMEDDC&S.
Lots of discussion and hypotheticals, but no definitive reasons for the attrition were given in this study. Shortages and attrition of 18D students continue to this day.
My take: This stuff is very hard and extremely demanding. Not everyone will make it, hence the word attrition. Intellectually challenged, indolent, and unmotivated people need not apply.

Not sure if that is true, but that is the truth about affirmative action.
Because what this statement says is, "Policy has been to hire the most qualified pilots available. Fly with us as we change that policy."
But the planes practically fly themselves now!
Yeah, until they don't and the port engine disintegrates or a bird strikes lands you in the Hudson. Or perhaps your particular model's brain can get a bit wonky, and you have to know how to shut off ROC in 30 seconds or less or be in an unrecoverable dive.

#3 RAND Study of USAF female and black pilots' washout rate indicated they simply "lack ability" -- and, understandably, also lack confidence. From report linked above, p.45:
...both female groups themselves and instructors discussed a lack of confidence among female students, especially compared with men. For example, a female instructor opined that female students lacked the confidence of their male counterparts:
"The confidence on the whole is not as high throughout the women as it is with the guys. I don’t know how to fix that after teaching for four years. A guy can have a bad ride and still tell himself and his friends that he’s awesome. A girl can have a good ride and tell herself and her friends that she’s the worst. I don’t know a way to fix that other than to just be aware of it."
As with instructors, female students also suggested that they might have a harder time than their male counterparts in shaking off criticism. For example, one female student pilot explained that male student pilots “can move on much faster because they don’t think about things all the time like we do.” Another female student stated, “I think the hardest thing for me was learning to forgive myself.”
Finally, instructors often perceived that female students lacked ability. Several instructors said that female students seemed to be poorer performers or that they had heard other instructors say that, particularly in terms of flying performance (as opposed to academics, general knowledge, or knowledge of instruments).
A white male instructor, responsible for splitting classes as they entered the next training phase, recalled as he “split up classes and tr[ied] to balance gender and minorities,” “There is a perception that females perform at a lower level. I’m often asked by flight-room IPs how many girls I am sending them.”

Lol... the extremely detailed, rigorous, 120-page RAND study examines all the usual Woke excuses (sexism, rayciss, toxic masculinity superiority turpitude-blah-bkah) for female and black pilot candidates' severe underperformance / extremely high washout rates and rejects them all.
The authors conclude:
Analysis of UPT attrition data showed that characteristics that are known about candidates before they enter pilot training could account for the relatively high attrition among female and black candidates. In other words, pilot candidates from the base demographic group (male for gender comparisons, white for race and ethnicity comparisons) who had similar test scores, sources of commission, flying experience, and levels of DG attainment were eliminated from UPT at similarly high rates.
This finding implies that race and ethnicity or gender do not, in themselves, drive these differences in attrition rates. Rather, members of these groups are less likely to possess the preparation or experience necessary to be successful.

As a CFI, I can tell y'all that this will not end well.
The Bozo's and Bozette's will be sharing the air with competent but unsuspecting pilots (to say nothing of the pax.). And considering that ATC is also in the EEOC game, it's gonna' be a real $hit-show, imo.

[STARTRIBUNE] As part of its racial equity efforts, Target Corp. is pledging to sell products from more than 500 Black-owned brands by the end of 2025.
That goal is part of a new $2 billion commitment the Minneapolis-based retailer is making to spend with Black-owned businesses over five years. The company did not provide specifics on how much it currently spends with these companies, but said the commitment represents a significant increase.
Target currently carries 65-plus Black-owned brands, including several in its beauty department.
In addition to diversifying its suppliers, Target said it will step up partnerships with other Black-owned companies in areas such as marketing, construction and facilities management.
It also will launch a new program called Forward Founders to help Black entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses for mass retail.
"We have a rich history of working with diverse businesses, but there's more we can do to spark change across the retail industry, support the Black community and ensure Black guests feel welcomed and represented when they shop at Target," Christina Hennington, Target's chief growth officer, said in a statement. "The bold actions we're announcing today reflect Target's ongoing commitment to advance racial equity for the Black community."
Target has been working to diversify its suppliers and product mix for years through efforts such as hosting vendor fairs for Black-owned businesses. Between 2016 and 2018, it increased its business with diverse suppliers by 64%.

If the items sell Great fantastic, stock them.
But if it is a WOKE PR gimmick?
Then will Target just offset the loss by upping the prices of WHITE Items.
Which also begs the question:
IF the items were profitable why wasn't Target already selling them?
Before you ask what is a "White Only Item"?
I can't think of one. But it does point out the ethnic disparity of focusing on Race/Color over consumer demand that "might" be introduced.

Time for businesses to get figurehead black owners?
Owners and top tier officers, this has been going on South Africa since about 1995. The newly re-organized South Afircan 'National' Defense Force (SANDF) led the way through the mandatory release, buy-out, and retirement of white top level officers. Many of the replacements had gained their military education at the Frunze Military Academy in Moscow.
[Daily Bell] The more mundane aspect of this story is that Robert Redfield — now that he is safely out of the clutches of his federal post as CDC Director — stated the obvious to a corporate news actor who pretended to be shocked.
The simplest explanation for the origin of the SARS-CoV-2, Redfield explained, is that the nearby Wuhan virology lab — which experimented for on coronaviruses just likes SARS-CoV-2 for a decade-plus — leaked it.
The real takeaway is the lightning-speed with which the corporate-state goon squad that masquerades as media attacked:
"Redfield’s endorsement of the so-called "lab-leak" theory of the virus’s origin on CNN outraged several state lawmakers, who saw his comments as exacerbating anti-Asian sentiment that has been on the rise since the United States saw its first cases."
They immediately pressured the Maryland governor to sever ties with Redfield, who now serves in an unpaid advisory role following his departure from the CDC.
And, of course, they couldn’t help themselves: rather than attacking the expert virologist’s assessment of the origins of SARS-CoV-2 on its merits, they pushed ahead with their race-obsessed narrative of rampant anti-Asian hate:

[Washington Examiner] Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon signed legislation on Tuesday that will require voters in his state to show photo identification prior to voting in elections.
Gordon, a Republican, signed House Bill 75 into law, which will mean that starting in July 2021, Wyoming voters will need to show a valid government-issued photo ID in order to cast their ballots, according to Oil City News.
The bill has been criticized by Democrats in the state, who say voter ID laws suppress turnout, especially in minority communities, while Republicans argue that showing a photo ID discourages voter fraud.
"It is a necessary function of our republic to provide our citizens with confidence that our elections are secure, fair, and valid," Wyoming House state Rep. Chuck Gray, a Republican, said about the legislation. "I am proud that we were able to meet this important milestone for Wyoming."
The signing of the bill comes as voter ID laws and election safeguards overall have been a bitter point of contention between Democrats and Republicans, most notably in Georgia and Texas, where new legislation has prompted liberal boycotts and a decision by Major League Baseball to move the All-Star Game out of Georgia in protest.
Polling released last month showed that a strong majority, 75%, of voters supported voter ID laws, including 69% of black voters. Additionally, a poll in the swing state of Michigan this week showed that 72% of voters support the idea of showing a photo ID in order to vote. In that poll, 58% of black voters voiced support for voter ID laws.
[Jerusalem Post] A groundbreaking treatment developed by an Israeli team might offer a cure against multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer.
Multiple myeloma is a relatively common type of cancer which targets white blood cells producing antibodies. As a result of the disease, those cells start to multiply indefinitely in the blood and can accumulate in the bones as well.
"The causes of this cancer are not clear, but it can lead to bone lesions, anemia, kidney failure, and it exposes the patients to infections, since their immune system is weakened," Prof. Cyrille Cohen, head of the immunotherapy laboratory at Bar-Ilan University, told The Jerusalem Post.
Currently, the disease is considered treatable but not curable, with a survival rate of about 50% five years after the diagnosis. The state-of-the-art treatment is based on chemotherapy, a type of treatment that is often burdensome on the patient.
Cohen and his colleagues, including Prof. Polina Stepensky and Dr. Moshe Gatt from the Hadassah-University Medical Center, developed a bio-based alternative which aims at "reprogramming" the patient’s own blood cells.
"We are reprogramming another type of the immune system’s cells, called ’T cells,’ in order to teach them to fight the cancer inside the blood of the patient," Cohen explained.
"We draw some blood from the patient, we separate the T cells, and in the laboratory we add a new molecule which allows them to recognize the cancerous cells," he added. "The molecule is called a CAR, which stands for ’chimeric antigen receptor.’"

p.s. Just remembered an Analog story I've read a long time ago. A day, in which he receives a Nobel Prize in medicine for finding a cure for cancer, in the life of a Jewish American scientist.
Last paragraph. "This is an alternate history. In our world his parents died in Nazi concentration camps as teenagers."

I am past caring what my own government supports, but for the sake of Asia, I am with the junta. Suu Kyi was indifferent to and simply stood out of the war against islamics, namely Rohingya rebels. It is only the military that can keep them on a steady population decline.
The rest of the liberal islamophile world wants to stamp Myanmar with its own shitty 'Democracy Applied' label. A totalitarian, militarized State is actually a model south Asian societies could all benefit from. But that's just my own view.
