[FOX] The U.S. military has sent MQ-9 Reaper drones to Nigeria, a U.S. defense official reportedly told The Associated Press, as fears are growing of a renewed insurgency by the terrorist group Boko Haram.
The drones were deployed after 200 U.S. troops arrived in Nigeria last month to provide training and intelligence. Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, is battling a complex security crisis, especially in the north of the country.
A spokesperson for AFRICOM, the U.S. Africa Command, told the AP that U.S. troops "are working alongside their Nigerian counterparts to provide intelligence support, advisory assistance, and targeted training in support of the Nigerian Armed Forces."

A suspected ISWAP cleric has issued threats of a possible attack on Malam Fatori following the recent neutralization of 75 terrorists in a failed attack on March 18 2026.
According to intelligence sources, the cleric, who reportedly led this year Eid Fitr prayers in a location near Sabon Tumbu, warned during his sermon that the group would soon retaliate against Nigerian troops for operations carried out in Malam Fatori.
The source said the cleric specifically threatened that the town could be “reduced to ashes” in a reprisal attack, stressing that such statements by insurgents should not be dismissed as mere rhetoric.
Sources noted that past experiences have shown that insurgent groups often act on their threats, urging troops deployed in Malam Fatori to remain on high alert and adequately equipped to counter any potential assault.

Troops of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team of 82 Division Task Force Battalion have successfully detected and detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) along a major supply route in Gwoza LGA of Borno State.
Security sources said the device was discovered at about 9:42 a.m. on March 22 during a routine scan of the Main Supply Route (MSR) between PAPA 4 and PAPA 5 along the Ngoshe–Pulka road.
Employees at a police impound lot found 229 migrants who had been stashed in a trailer by human smugglers trying to move them through Mexico on their way to the U.S. border. The trailer had been seized by police earlier in the day after having been reported stolen.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon in the coastal state of Veracruz, when authorities spotted a tractor-trailer that had been reported stolen. According to information released by the Veracruz Public Safety Director, Jose Manuel Pozos Castro, authorities arrested the driver and moved the trailer to a police impound lot in the city of Xalapa.
It was there that employees at the impound lot heard screaming coming from inside the trailer and alerted authorities. State police officers opened the trailer and found a large number of migrants who were in various states of dehydration due to the heat inside the trailer.
The state police officers alerted emergency medical personnel, who began treating the migrants, while members of Mexico’s National Migration Institute arrived to process the group and determine their status. In total, authorities found 229 migrants, including 17 who were underage.
The case comes at a time when Mexican authorities have been forced to crack down on human smuggling groups due to pressure from the U.S. government. While in the past, Mexico’s government allowed migrants to move freely through the country on their way north, in recent months, Mexican immigration authorities have begun limiting the number of travel documents issued at its southern border. This move has made it more difficult for human smuggling organizations to operate within the country.

A spokesperson for the Antwerp prosecutor said an investigation was under way, and that the two suspects had been arrested shortly before midnight on Monday, moments after the attack.
They said a video circulating on social media that purportedly showed the arson attack appeared authentic and was part of the investigation. Rooters did not independently verify the video.
In a post on X, the European Jewish Congress condemned the arson attack, saying that it "reflects a deeply troubling escalation in acts targeting Jewish communities."
Over the past two weeks, synagogues have been attacked in Liege, Belgium, and in the Dutch city of Rotterdam, as was a Jewish school in Amsterdam. In Britannia, counterterrorism officers are leading an investigation into an attack on Jewish community ambulances.

The video appears to be authentic but it shows some signs of amateur production. It is important to examine if local reports in Antwerp have verified that an arson attack occurred in the area in recent days. Oddly the video does not provide a date of when the arson occurred unlike the previous videos published by the group.
Also, it appears the group used a translator like Google Translate to publish its message in English. There is a period at the beginning of the last sentence in the group's statement, indicating a translation app may have been used.
"There must be a thorough investigation and decisive action to put an end to this climate of intimidation before it spirals further," Israel’s ambassador to Belgium, Idit Rosenzweig-Abu, said on X.
Belgium on Monday deployed soldiers on the streets of its biggest cities to bolster security at Jewish sites including synagogues and schools.
Soldiers in Belgium will begin working alongside local police forces "as soon as possible," in coordination with the Federal Police, Defense Minister Theo Francken and Interior Minister Bernard Quintin said last week.
The plan is believed to cover 20 synagogues around the country and four Jewish schools in Antwerp, local media reported. The city is home to most of Belgium’s 30,000 Jews. Estimates say that more than 50 soldiers will patrol with police for "as long as necessary."

The Popular Mobilization Forces, part of Iraq’s regular armed forces but which also includes brigades belonging to Iran-backed groups, blamed the strike that killed a commander and 14 other fighters on the United States.

The woman, named later as Nuriel Dubin, 27, was critically injured by a rocket impact near the Mahanayim Junction, and the Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service said its medics declared her death at the scene.
Two others who were lightly hurt by shrapnel were treated as well.
"We arrived at a difficult scene. In a ditch on the side of the road, we saw a woman unconscious with severe shrapnel injuries," said MDA medic Oren Ne’eman.
"We performed medical assessments, but she had no vital signs, and we were forced to pronounce her dead at the scene," he said.
Another man with a head injury then approached the medics, Ne’eman said. "He told us that while he had pulled over to the side of the road during the siren, a missile fell nearby and he was injured by shrapnel."
The municipality of Margaliot in the Upper Galilee said in a statement that resident Dubin is survived by her parents, Yoram and Shoshana, her brother Aviram, her sister Sapir and her fiancé Yadid.
Nuriel and Yadid had gotten engaged in September 2025, and were planning a wedding for September 2026.
Dubin worked as a youth counselor and a preschool caregiver and also served as a combat soldier in the reserves, the municipality said.
A short while after that deadly incident, Iran fired a ballistic missile salvo that triggered alerts across northern Israel, one of at least 12 volleys fired at the Jewish state on Tuesday.
One missile impacted in the city of Safed, with MDA saying it treated two people who were hurt by glass shards and who did not require hospitalization.
Earlier in the day, Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel would maintain control of a "security zone" in southern Lebanon, up to the Litani River, until the threat of Hezbollah is removed.
On Monday, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich suggested Israel go further and move its border with Lebanon up to the Litani River.
Israel ran a costly occupation of Lebanon’s south from 1982 to 2000.
The IDF has been regularly striking what it says is a range of Hezbollah targets throughout Lebanon, including in the Shiite group’s stronghold in southern Beirut.
One such strike on the capital on Monday by the Israeli Navy killed a member of the Quds Force, the extraterritorial arm of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the military said Tuesday.
The IDF said Muhammad Ali Kourani had been "advancing terror attacks directed by Iranian intelligence officials."
The strike was carried out by the Navy following intelligence provided by the Shin Bet security agency, the military added.
The IDF also said Tuesday that five Hezbollah anti-tank missile operatives had been killed in an Israeli strike in the southern Lebanese village of Bint Jbeil earlier in the week.
The army says it struck two command centers in the village that had been used by Hezbollah’s anti-tank unit, amid operations by troops of the 91st "Galilee" Regional Division in the area.
In one of the strikes, five members of the Hezbollah anti-tank unit were killed, the army said.
In additional strikes on Monday night, the military said, it struck several more Hezbollah sites in the area, including anti-tank missile launch posts.
Since it resumed its attacks on March 2, Hezbollah has been firing an average of about 150 rockets per day, according to the IDF. Roughly two-thirds of the daily rocket fire has been directed at Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon and along the border, with the remaining third aimed at Israel.
The Israeli military has said that it has killed around 600 Hezbollah operatives, including over 220 members of the terror group’s elite Radwan Force, since then.
More than 2,000 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon have also been struck, including 120 command centers, 100 weapon depots and 130 missile launchers, according to the IDF.
The IDF believes Hezbollah still possesses thousands of short-range rockets, along with hundreds of longer-range projectiles. The IDF has said that Hezbollah is launching most of its attacks from deeper within southern Lebanon, and not from close to the border.
More than 400 ballistic missiles have been launched from Iran at Israel since the start of the war on February 28, with the military reporting an interception rate of 92 percent of attacks heading for populated areas and key infrastructure.
The Israeli Air Force has conducted hundreds of waves of strikes in Iran, dropping over 13,000 bombs on Iranian regime and military sites, including air defense systems, ballistic missile launchers, weapon production sites, nuclear facilities and various headquarters.

The maimed in Bnei Brak included a 23-year-old man in moderate condition and eight other people, among them six children and a woman in her eighties, who were lightly injured by a blast or shrapnel, the Magen David Adom ambulance service said.
"We went into the shelter and there was a boom like I’ve never heard in my life," a resident who lives near one of the fall sites told Ynet. "We looked out the window... the road was full of shards and smoke. It was really scary. My ears were ringing."
Other bomblets struck Petah Tikva, Givat Shmuel, and Rosh Haayin, causing damage but no physical injuries, rescue services said.
The attack was the 12th of 13 Iranian missile salvos fired at Israel on Tuesday. At least nine people, including two infants, were maimed across the country in earlier strikes throughout the day.
Later Iranian missiles overnight into Wednesday also triggered sirens in the southern city of Eilat and in the areas of Jerusalem and central Israel, with no direct injuries reported. The MDA said medics treated several people hurt while running to shelters or who were suffering from acute anxiety.
An Iranian missile attack on Bahrain also killed a Moroccan civilian contractor who was on "a routine mission" for the Emirati military, the United Arab Emirates defense ministry said Tuesday, adding that five other ministry personnel were also maimed.
Bahrain’s military had announced that a UAE army personnel was killed in its territory while helping Bahraini forces defend against Iranian attacks. It said UAE and Bahraini army personnel had also been injured without specifying how many.
Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority also said overnight that a drone had targeted a fuel tank at the Kuwait International Airport, causing a fire but no casualties.
Iran has fired missile and dronezaps across the region in response to the ongoing bombing campaign that the US and Israel launched on the Islamic Theocratic Republic on February 28 in a bid to destabilize its regime and destroy its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
On Tuesday, Israeli Air Force jets dropped over 120 bombs on dozens of Iranian targets including ballistic missile launch sites, weapon production facilities and air defense systems, the IDF said.
Among the targets was Iran’s "main" explosives production facility, which was struck amid a wave of attacks in Isfahan against Iran’s "production industries," according to the military.
The facility was used to manufacture explosives for various weapons, and had been targeted by the IDF during the 12-day Israel-Iran war in June, the military said, adding that Iran has since worked to restore the site.
Early Wednesday, the IDF announced a new wave of strikes in Tehran targeting Iranian regime infrastructure sites.

"The American-Zionist enemy has attacked the Bushehr nuclear power plant site again," the organization said in a statement, adding that "a projectile hit inside the enclosure of the Bushehr power plant."
"Initial reports indicate this incident did not cause any financial or technical damage, or human casualty, and the various areas of the power plant are unharmed," the statement said.
The UN nuclear watchdog also said Iran had informed it that a "projectile hit the premises" of the Bushehr nuclear power plant on Tuesday, without causing damage to the plant itself.
"IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi reiterates call for maximum restraint to avoid nuclear safety risks during conflict," the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said in a post on X.
During the June war, IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin listed Bushehr as one of the nuclear sites that had been struck by Israel, but an IDF military official later said that it was a "mistake" for Defrin to say so and that Israel would neither confirm nor deny having struck Bushehr.
IRAN SAYS ’NON-HOSTILE VESSELS’ OK IN STRAIT OF HORMUZ

Three people were maimed Tuesday when an Iranian missile fragment impacted at an unrecognized Bedouin community in the Negev Desert, paramedics said.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service reported that a man in his 40s was moderately hurt after being hit by a blast, and a woman aged 26 and a 2-month-old baby were lightly hurt, in the village of Alsira.
The man’s condition was later described as serious.
He and his baby were taken to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, MDA said. His wife was hurt very lightly and did not require hospitalization.
According to reports, the maimed man was himself a doctor at Soroka. He had just returned from a shift when he was hurt in the incident.
The doctor was admitted to the trauma center of the hospital, while his baby was treated in the emergency room.
Ahmed Nassara, a member of the Regional Council of the Unrecognized Villages in the Negev, told Ynet that the doctor was his nephew and had been maimed in the leg.
Footage shows the damage caused to a home in an unrecognised Bedouin community in the Negev Desert by a fragment from an intercepted Iranian ballistic missile.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, an Iranian missile fired at the area was intercepted, and falling fragments likely caused the injuries.
As many Bedouin communities in the Negev are not recognized by the state, there are few public bomb shelters, and residents largely lack private protective rooms.
The incident highlighted the vulnerability of the roughly 130,000 residents of some 35 unrecognized villages.
FRAGMENT HITS RARE HOME WITH SHELTER, FAMILY UNHURT
Earlier Tuesday, a fragment from an intercepted Iranian missile hit a home in the unrecognized village of Tel Arad in the Negev and caused significant damage, according to the Arab majority Hadash-Ta’al party.
The family was one of the few in the village with a safe room; however, they were there when the fragment hit the home. None of them was maimed.
Jihad Amor, a resident of Tel Arad, told The Times of Israel that the fragment hit his uncle’s home, about 20 meters from his own house.
He said he felt "total fear" when he heard the fragment hit at about 6 a.m.
"For our neighbors in Arad, the Home Front Command arrives, and the police come. The prime minister was there. The whole world was there," he said, referring to the recent direct missile impact in the nearby city, which saw some 90 people maimed.
"When we call the police or the Home Front Command, or the regional council, they don’t answer. No one pays attention. They don’t think of us as people, but as animals," he charged.
In a statement following the strike, the Hadash party’s Negev branch said that the government’s neglect of the unrecognized villages reflects "an explicitly racist policy" and "blatant discrimination against Arab citizens in the Negev."
The Abraham Initiatives organization said in a statement: "The failure of protection in the Negev costs more victims. We warned for years about the protection-gap in the Arab community in general, and the Bedouin villages in particular."
"This war continues to expose, in a tragic way, the Israeli government’s policy of abandonment toward the Arab community. The time has come for an emergency protection plan," it said.

Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi wrote on X: "I instructed today the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants colonists to summon the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires in Lebanon to inform him of the decision to withdraw the agrément for the designated Iranian Ambassador, Mohammad Reza Shibani, declare him persona non grata, and request that he leave Lebanese territory no later than 29 March 2026."
The ministry also recalled the Lebanese ambassador to Iran for consultations, citing what it described as Tehran’s violation of diplomatic norms and established practices between the two countries.
Lebanon has been drawn into the ongoing regional war by Iranian proxy terror group Hezbollah, which has resisted the government’s demands to disarm and has been attacking Israel daily, leading to an intense Israeli bombing campaign and ground operation in southern Lebanon and the displacement of over a million people.
Hezbollah condemned the decision by Lebanon’s foreign ministry as a "national and strategic sin," calling in a statement on "the president of the republic and the prime minister to demand that the minister of Foreign Affairs... immediately reverse this decision because of its dangerous repercussions."
In Israel, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar praised Beirut for the move, calling it a "justified and necessary step toward the state responsible for violating Lebanon’s illusory sovereignty, for its indirect occupation through Hezbollah, and for dragging it into war."
Writing on X, he called on Lebanon’s government to take "meaningful steps" against Hezbollah.

Once a potent political force, Hezbollah has found itself with few defenders in Beirut in recent years. In January 2025 Lebanon’s parliament elected former army chief Joseph Aoun, a Hezbollah opponent, as the country’s president.
A poll conducted in January 2026 by the Council for a Secure America found that 73% of Lebanese strongly or somewhat support the president’s efforts to disarm Hezbollah, while only 9% said they strongly or somewhat oppose the process.
On March 9, Aoun proposed direct talks with Israel, a call that Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam echoed last week. Israel has said there are no talks planned, but the US and other Western nations have welcomed the proposal and expressed hopes that Israel will take Beirut up on the offer.
IN FIRST, IRANIAN MISSILE INTERCEPTED OVER LEBANON
Also Tuesday, an Iranian ballistic missile was intercepted over Lebanon, in a first, three Lebanese security sources told Rooters.
Two of the sources said the interception was carried out by a "foreign naval vessel," apparently referring to the United States.
Fragments from the interception struck towns north of Beirut, according to Lebanese media, causing light injuries.
Later, the IDF said that "following a review and based on the data available to the IDF, in parallel to the launches carried out toward the State of Israel earlier today, a ballistic missile launched by the Iranian terror regime fell in Beirut."
On Sunday night, two ballistic missiles launched from Iran at Israel instead struck Lebanese territory, according to the IDF.
