[PJMedia] It's the Islamic holy month, when it's a terrible insult to Moslems who are praying and fasting to bomb a rogue state that threatens the U.S. and its allies, right? Yet as Ramadan draws to a close this year, the jihad corpse count worldwide is 499 infidels murdered in 133 jihad attacks. No adherents of any other religion, or even any "right-wing holy warriors," committed any terror attacks during this period.
Those who are confused as to how all this killing could take place during what is supposed to be a holy month should remember a key fact that the political and media establishment routinely ignores: because Ramadan is the month in which Moslems redouble their efforts to obey Allah, Ramadan is also quintessentially the month of jihad. That doesn’t just mean the month in which Moslems engage in a spiritual struggle to improve their fidelity to Allah’s commands. It means jihad violence.
This is because fighting against and killing infidels is commanded in the Qur’an (cf. 2:191. 4:89, 9:5, 9:289, 47:4, etc.). As a result, killing infidels during Ramadan is, for the killers, a holy and sacred act. A jihad group explained it back in 2012: "The month of Ramadan is a month of holy war and death for Allah. It is a month for fighting the enemies of Allah and Allah’s messenger, the Jews and their American controllers."
This is not the prevailing view among non-Moslems in the West. Even President Donald Trump ...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons... , in his 2026 Ramadan message, stated:
Every Ramadan stands as a reverent season of spiritual renewal, reflective meditation, and appreciation for God’s countless blessings. This sacred time for many Americans emphasizes prayer and fasting, strengthens familial and community ties, and affirms our shared values of compassion, charity, mercy, and humility.
Trump was right. Ramadan is indeed "a reverent season of spiritual renewal, reflective meditation, and appreciation for God’s countless blessings." Yet for that very reason, given the contents of the Qur’an and Sunnah, Ramadan is also "is a month of holy war and death for Allah."
During Ramadan, Moslems are exhorted to renew and deepen their devotion to Allah. Hence it is a time when they read commands such as this one, and many look for ways to put them into practice: "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Those who follow him are ruthless to unbelievers, and merciful to one another." (48:29) The imperative during Ramadan is to grow more devout. The Moslem who applies himself diligently to the observance of Ramadan will thus become both more merciful to his fellow Moslems and more ruthless toward non-Moslems.
Throughout the history of Islam, we can see jihad being waged with extra ferocity during Ramadan. The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS recounts the story of the centuries-long and excruciatingly devastating Islamic jihad against India. During Ramadan in 1504, the Delhi sultan Sikandar Lodi, in the words of the contemporary Moslem historian Niamatullah, "raised the standard of war for the reduction of the fort of Mandrail; but the garrison capitulating, and delivering up the citadel, the Sultan ordered the temples and idols to be demolished, and mosques to be constructed."
Then the sultan "moved out on a plundering expedition into the surrounding country, where he butchered many people, took many prisoners, and devoted to utter destruction all the groves and habitations; and after gratifying and honouring himself by this exhibition of holy zeal he returned to his capital Bayana."
Plundering, butchering, and destroying temples was, as far as Niamatullah was concerned, an "exhibition of holy zeal." Niamatullah wrote admiringly of Sikandar Lodi:
[T]he Islamic sentiment [in him] was so strong that he demolished all temples in his kingdom and left no trace of them. He constructed sarais, bazars, madrasas and mosques in Mathura, which is a holy place of the Hindus and where they go for bathing. He appointed government officials in order to make sure that no Hindu could bathe in Mathura. No barber was permitted to shave the head of any Hindu with his razor. That is how he completely curtailed the public celebration of infidel customs. If a Hindu went there for bathing even by mistake, he was made to lose his limbs and punished severely. No Hindu could get shaved at that place. No barber would go near a Hindu, whatever be the payment offered.
Murdering infidels thus doesn’t contradict the spirit of Ramadan. It embodies it. The Kavkaz Center, a website operated by Chechen jihadists, explained in a 2010 article that the idea of Ramadan as a time for warfare against infidels went back to Muhammad’s time: "The month of Ramadan in the life of the Prophet (PTUI!) and the righteous ancestors was a month of forthcoming. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) rebuilt Hezbollah’s military command after it was mauled by Israel in 2024, plugging gaps with Iranian officers before restructuring the Lebanese group and laying plans for the war it is now waging in support of Tehran, two people familiar with these IRGC activities said.

Netanyahu said in January that Hezbollah was making efforts to rearm and rebuild its infrastructure with Iranian support.
SCRAPPING HIERARCHY
The two sources said IRGC officers tasked with helping Hezbollah recover arrived shortly after a ceasefire in November 2024, and set to work even as Israel continued to strike.
One of them said the deployment involved about 100 officers.
Changes implemented at their behest included replacing a hierarchical command structure with a decentralised one, comprising small units with limited knowledge of each other’s operations, helping to preserve operational secrecy.

Andreas Krieg, a lecturer at the security studies department of King’s College London, said the IRGC "has basically reorganized Hezbollah as a far more flat system," contrasting this with the political hierarchy that had emerged around Nasrallah before his death.
"That decentralized model that they’ve now implemented is also a bit more like what Hezbollah looked like in the 1980s — very small cells," said Krieg, who has researched the group for 15 years. He described this as a "mosaic defence" that is also being used by the IRGC in Iran.
LEBANON ASKED IRGC TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY
The IRGC’s efforts were going on at the same time as Lebanon’s government and its US-backed military were seeking to advance a process to disarm the group, underscoring a huge complication facing that objective.
Lebanon estimates that around 100 to 150 Iranian nationals in the country have ties to the Iranian government that go beyond normal diplomatic functions, including links to the IRGC, a Lebanese official told Rooters.
The official said the government asked those people to leave Lebanon in early March.
The two sources familiar with IRGC activities said Guards officers were among more than 150 Iranians who left Beirut on a flight to Russia on March 7.
IRGC members were also among the roughly 500 people killed by Israeli strikes in Lebanon in the 15 months between the 2024 ceasefire and the eruption of the new war. Israel said it was hitting Hezbollah efforts to rearm in violation of the ceasefire.
Around a dozen more have been killed in Israeli attacks since the war erupted, including in a strike on a Beirut hotel on March 8, they said.
The IRGC has been closely involved in Hezbollah since its men established the group in the eastern Bekaa Valley to export Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution and fight Israeli forces that had invaded Lebanon in 1982.

I still contend that conquering the tens of millions of Arabs from the Nile (yes, yes, Egyptians aren’t Arab. The principle still holds) to the Euphrates is absolutely stupid, because while it’s conceivable to me that Israel could do the conquering piece, that would mean controlling an entirely hostile population, considerably worse than dealing with the West Bank and Gaza. As we’ve seen with the Palestinian Territories, the idiots refuse to be civilized and their former rulers refuse to take them back — they were just as troublesome to their former owners as they are to the Israelis who conquered them so easily.
That’s why neither Bibi nor the Donald have serious plans to physically, boots-on-the-ground invade Iran. Let the Iranians rule themselves and fix their own problems. Maybe they, being Aryan rather than Arab, will actually be able to do it.

A thought: Given how far below replacement Iranian and Turkish (excluding Kurds) birthrates are, and how far Arab birthrates overall have fallen and continue to fall, Israel may inherit by dint of differential birthrates, even as the Kurds do the same in Turkey. The so-called moderate Palestinians have long talked of conquering Israel via their women’s wombs, then lied about their birth and death rates to make it appear there were a million or more of them than there actually were, a common behaviour outside the First World nations. It would be a lovely irony to do that unto them…

The squatters who moved in to the land promised to the Israelites will be evicted just like all squatters.

Herut at one time advocated territorial expansion into the east bank. However they gave up that policy sometime between 1973 (when they became part of the Likud alliance) and 1988 when Herut was dissolved.
There are some people in Likud who probably still believe in conquest of the east bank but they are pretty marginal in Likud and even Likud itself needs other parties to govern.
A lot of Likud is in favor of densifying the settlements on the west bank and most of Israel either supports that or does not oppose it.
To my knowledge there is no significant support for territorial expansion with the following exceptions:
- Most Israelis are willing to allow a Druze ministate near the Golan where Israel supplies strategic security.
- Most Israelis are willing to provide some security to southern Lebanon on a temporary basis to effect the de-Hezbollahization of the area south of the Litani River.

I know what I was and was not told about modern Israel by the Israeli and Persian immigrants and expats who taught at my very Zionist Hebrew school (synagogue-linked, evenings and Sundays, not private religious day school), and I’ve never bothered to keep track of the Toad-the-Wet-Sprocket formations and reformations of Israeli politics, any more than I ever did of the American Socialist-Communist political parties — the only thing I care about is what emerges from the ferment, not what it calls itself from moment to moment.
