[JTN] One person was killed and four others were hospitalized in a shooting at an ice skating rink in Pawtucket, Rhode Island
Police have identified the suspect in a Rhode Island ice rink shooting as 56-year-old man who identified as transgender.
“He shot my family and he’s dead now,” a woman who identified herself as the shooter's daughter, told reporters as she was exiting the Pawtucket Police Department after the shooting.
“He has mental health issues,” she said, adding that he was “very sick.”
Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves confirmed Monday evening that Robert Dorgan, who goes by the name Roberta Esposito, killed himself after a targeted shooting stemming from a family dispute.
Court records from 2020 state that Dorgan had undergone gender reassignment surgery. His wife filed for divorce, initially citing “gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic + personality disorder traits” as the reason before crossing them out and writing “irreconcilable differences.”
Dorgan shot four family members and a family friend at a high school hockey game Monday, killing two and injuring three, police said, according to WPRI.
The student’s mother was killed at the rink, while a sibling died at the hospital, according to sources with direct knowledge of the incident.
Three other family members are in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital as of late Monday afternoon, according to the outlet. No names have been released.

Singer turned away from him and tried to go inside to call 911, but Kambui quickly grabbed her from behind and pushed his fingers into her eye sockets, video of the assault showed.
He told her 'I'm going to gouge out your eyes,' Singer recalled, and then knocked her to the ground. A group of bystanders rushed into help, pulling Kambui off of her and holding him down until police arrived and arrested him.
Kambui carried out the assault after having attacked his girlfriend Sunshine Tracht in their home that very morning, according to court documents obtained by KCPQ.
Tracht, 24, was left with brutal injuries after he hit her head with a Skyy Vodka bottle. He also twisted her head, tried to stab her in the eyes, stomped on her, kicked her in the ribs, threw things at her and tried to break her arm, the court filings said.
She died three months later with the medical examiner ruling her cause of death as alcoholic ketoacidosis, a metabolic condition caused by severe alcohol use. Tracht's mother, however, believes the attack led to her death.
Kambui pleaded guilty to assaulting both women and blamed his actions on being high on psychedelic mushrooms. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail, but was released from custody last week for completing his sentence.

I have a neighbor next door, that last year acquired a new local Office Manager where she has worked for 20+ years.
The new manager tried to play bean counter to look good to corporate HQ and started trimming operational cost and improve the office location ROI.
So the bean counter decided to push her and 2 other Sr. Acct reps out. He started by cutting their hours, and assigning her accounts to new hires, or lower paid junior staff.
Once their clients started having to deal with the idiots that knew little or nothing about their client's business operational needs and processes. The clients made it clear to corporate, either their long time account rep's handle their accounts, or they'll move on.
The Corporate Office relocated the New Mgr. in a quick manner.
