[Jpost] Posts blaming Israel for the collision that killed 69 near Toledo drew hundreds of thousands of views, including AI and doctored videos of Netanyahu threatening Spain.
The Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain (FJCE) has decried circulating conspiracy theories accusing Jews of being responsible for the fatal railway crash in Urda, Toledo, last week.
At least 69 people were killed and more than 100 maimed on October 28 two high-speed trains collided due to a signaling failure.
Following the tragic accident, conspiracy theories and doctored videos started spreading, accusing Israel of orchestrating the collision.
For example, one post, viewed over 100,000 times, attempted to demonstrate how Israel may have been involved in the accident. It highlighted Thales Group, a French defense and technology company responsible for railway signaling and safety systems in Spain, and alleged that the company has close ties to Israeli intelligence, including former members of Unit 8200, and that it supplied technology to Israel’s military and security forces. The post then questioned how Thales’s supposedly highly sophisticated railway software could have failed, suggesting the possibility of deliberate tampering by Israel.
An AI video then circulated, seemingly depicting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatening Spain with supply cuts and train accidents. In the background, Netanyahu is shown to be writing the word "Spain" on a whiteboard. Despite being false, the video circulated in over six languages at a rapid pace.
FABRICATED NETANYAHU ’THREAT’
The account Irlandarra, which frequently posts antisemitic material, published a post with a different video apparently showing Netanyahu threatening Spain with power outages or train accidents.
The quotation is fabricated. And though the video is real, it dates from April 10, 2026, when Netanyahu was responding to Spain’s criticism of Israel over the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... war. In it, he announced the removal of Spanish representatives from the coordination center in Kiryat Gat and said: "I do not intend to allow any country to wage a diplomatic war against us without paying an immediate price."
Irlandarra captioned it: "Following Netanyahu’s threats against Spain, yesterday we have a train accident — 68 dead."
It then used the word "accident" in inverted commas. The post has been viewed 148.8K times.
’VERY DARK TIMES’
On the day of the accident, the FJCE had posted a statement on social media platforms saying that it was in mourning, together with all of Spain, for the dozens who died in the terrible railway accident and was profoundly sad for so many families that had lost loved ones.
"We pray for the victims, those close to them, and for the injured, to whom we wish a rapid and complete recovery," the federation had added. The FJCE also highlighted the courage of the survivors and the security services in their rescue efforts and called on the government to show transparency in its investigation of the tragedy and guarantee railway safety.
Following the antisemitic accusations, the FJCE then released another statement emphasizing that such conspiracy theories are harmful to Spain’s Jewish community.
"These theories originate from both extremes of the political spectrum, and we call on people to reject them and to rely on official information and investigations, which are the only means of establishing what happened," the statement read.
FCJE noted that the same conspiracy theories — blaming Israel for domestic issues in Spain — had also emerged following the entry of immigrants colonists into Ceuta over the summer.
"Holding an entire country responsible for the world’s problems constitutes antisemitism under the IHRA [International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance] working definition, to which Spain is a signatory," the federation noted, adding that the conspiracy theories bring back memories of "very dark times," when Jews "were blamed for poisoning wells, bringing the plague, causing droughts, or triggering economic crises."
"Those falsehoods led to persecution, harassment, and the isolation of Jews," it said, "and something very similar is what we have been experiencing in Spain over the past three years," FJCE added.
It ended its statement by saying: "Today, however, the thoughts of Spain’s Jewish community are with the victims of Urda and their families. In these moments of grief, Spanish Jews join the mourning of the entire country and offer their solidarity and support."
ECHOES OF CEUTA
On July 30, between 50,000 and 60,000 migrants colonists crossed into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, leading Spain to declare a state of emergency.
The causes were a matter of public record: a Spanish domestic legal ruling, the state of Spanish-Moroccan relations, and a decade of strain on Europe’s asylum system in a country led by a prime minister who has been forced to call early elections for November 29.
However,
a woman is only as old as she admits... within hours, the dominant explanation on X named the State of Israel and the Jewish people as the architects of European destabilization.
An analysis by CAM’s Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) found that 173 posts from 119 influencer accounts on X recast a European border emergency as a Jewish plot, reaching an estimated 103.1 million people in 72 hours.
Together, they generated 57.5 million views, 1.9 million likes, and 368,400 shares in two days. The average post alone reached an audience the size of a national newspaper’s circulation.

[Regnum] Parliamentary elections in Israel, although without a clear winner, are over, and midterm elections for the US Congress are just around the corner.
In anticipation of a new military campaign against Iran, hinted at by the constant arrival of US supplies to the Jewish state and Donald Trump's threats, the leaders of the "European Four" and the Middle Eastern powers are trying to prevent a ruinous escalation.
That’s nice — onanism does make the participant feel good about himself… Or more politely in this Facebook Reel with Dan Shueftan: Israel has a problem with Europe, but not a dilemma. No dilemma, because listening to Europe is not an option for them.
Europe and the "Middle Eastern Titans"
The first large-scale attempt at diplomatic preparations was the talks held in Istanbul on October 23, with the participation of Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.
But not Israel, one notes. Exactly this is why Israel is necessary.
A couple of days later, intelligence representatives from the last three countries listed arrived in Tehran. The United States is not participating in these initiatives, which European Council on Foreign Relations expert Elli Geranmayeh, in an article on the topic, described as a sign of weakening American influence in the region.
That’s certainly one perspective. But one can see why she might feel the need to say so.
The main risks for Europe now are related to new strikes on Iran and attacks by the Houthis, as well as the restriction or complete closure of the Straits of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb. This scenario is 50% likely to have already been realized.
There is always the risk that Iran will shoot missiles at Europe, but one doesn’t mention such things in polite company.
Hormuz is barely functioning, and the Houthis are attacking Saudi oil refineries and airports, teetering on the brink of blockading the vital strait in the Red Sea. But that's not the end of it.
*Blink* “Barely functioning”? Okayyyy…
Geranmaye also points out the potential consequences of large-scale attacks on Iran, in the form of mass migration and humanitarian catastrophe. The European Union has had more than one such experience in the 21st century. So what should the Old World do?
A European think tank proposes joining forces with Turkey, the Saudis, and the Pakistanis to jointly prevent an American attack,
Oh? Fascinating...
involve China in pressuring Iran, and link the easing of EU sanctions against Tehran to access to its nuclear facilities for IAEA experts.
The lady was very keen on sustaining President Obama’s nuclear deal…
At the same time, the "European Four" should facilitate the strengthening of the Lebanese government at the expense of Hezbollah, thereby eliminating the reasons for Israeli interventions. As a reminder, peace in Lebanon remains one of Iran's conditions for a peace agreement with the United States.
Iran’s surrender remains one of America’s. The IDF is ensuring peace in Lebanon.
In the long term, Geranmaye believes, the chosen format could develop into a new regional security architecture, which could one day include both Iran and Israel.
She’s adorable.
Even if these efforts fail and the US attacks Iran, it has already been demonstrated that the Middle East is beginning to build stability on its own and is looking for partners outside Washington.
PROSPECTS TO STOP THE US AND ISRAEL
There are none.
Unlike Geranmaye, many journalists and experts focus on the escalating conflict between the United States and Israel,
…two strong-willed men, personal friends for many decades before they met formally as respective heads of their states, who are plotting together the next round of the war against the Mad Mullahs and their satraps, have more important things to work on than junior high, mean girls nonsense...
as well as on the mood in the Islamic Republic. But deterrent mechanisms remain in the background. There's a reason for this: peacekeepers are extremely weak. Therefore, assessments of the prospects of the "Europe-Middle East" format seem more like wishes.
Indeed.
Firstly, there are serious doubts that Turkey and Saudi Arabia, hand in hand with the “European Four”, are really capable of stopping Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu if they really decide to attack Iran again.
Ya think??
Before and during the spring campaign, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Emmanuel Macron, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif tried hard to prevent chaos, but their efforts only yielded results when Trump realized it was time to stop, even though Netanyahu was prepared to fight on. At that point, the US president lavished praise on the mediators, also thanking Russia and China.
He is always willing to lavish praise. It costs nothing and inclines the recipient in his direction. That’s basic transaction stuff.
Secondly, how can we be sure that the format will be independent and sustainable? There are simply too many confounding variables. Chief among them is the United States itself, which has closer relations with each of the potential alliance members than they have with each other.
Saudi Arabia will not break with the United States for the sake of an incomprehensible and ineffective friendship with France and Germany, which are louder than others, but are incapable of unblocking Hormuz, or ensuring safe passage for Saudi tankers, or the safety of oil refineries.
And what price are the participants in the format willing to pay to ensure a new security architecture in the region? They won't go to war with Iran, and Germany and Italy certainly won't dare impose serious sanctions against Israel, not counting settlers in the West Bank. Getting involved in a conflict with the United States is even more dangerous. They could swallow Greenland and threaten the security of the EU itself.
If we're talking about Washington under the current president, it doesn't even need ostentatious sanctions. Simply verbal criticism of American attacks is enough, and that's it, relations are ruined. Are the leaders of France, Germany, and Italy, where thousands of schoolchildren and students are taking to the streets and where leaders' approval ratings are hitting historic lows, ready for such an escalation? Moreover, elections are scheduled in Italy and France in 2027.
Sense erupts. Let us pause to appreciate its appearance.
WHO WILL JOIN AND WHO WILL BE AFRAID?
So far, it's clear that the format will definitely remain, but divided by region. That is, the Europeans will be on their own, as will the countries in the region.
Despite the importance of Middle Eastern oil, Europe is more focused on ensuring its own security. For France and Germany, the Ukrainian conflict, escalating hysteria over a clash with Russia, and preventing the collapse of the European Union are far more important than the outcome of the US-Iranian conflict. Britain also has its own problems, from social issues to defense.
Middle Eastern states will likely engage with Europe, but not overly so. They are currently focused on the "Mecca Alliance" and are trying to lure Egypt into it. But even this more monolithic bloc still raises many questions. For example, defending Saudi Arabia from Houthi attacks has so far proven unsuccessful.
In the Middle East, strength is respected. As long as Europe has virtually no leverage over the situation in Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb, the Middle East could very quickly lose interest in a joint format due to the lack of practical benefits.
At the same time, Erdogan may try to maintain the institution of meetings in Istanbul, because the very fact of holding them enhances the image of his country and party, which is very necessary during the electoral period and at a time of economic difficulties.
Also, his ego needs regular polishing. His own hands can’t do all the work.
A number of countries could theoretically join the format: the UAE and Qatar, whose energy facilities are also under attack; China, Japan, and South Korea, dependent on oil supplies from the Persian Gulf; and Russia, which does not want another act of aggression against Iran.
However, geopolitical disagreements between Russia and Europe, Japan and South Korea and China, and the UAE and Saudi Arabia will become insurmountable barriers to the creation of an effective international mechanism for resolving the Iranian problem.
Ultimately, despite all the risks and concerns, it's hard to believe the Iranian conflict will prove systemic and long-term. And Trump, finally disillusioned with the militaristic approach, may rely on the "Abrahamic process" of reconciling Israel with the Arab world and, possibly, Turkey.
Maybe Turkey post-Erdogan. The current iteration of the thing is fixated on somehow establishing his beloved neo-Ottoman sultanate.
It turns out that in both wartime and peacetime, the initiative will rest with the United States. And Europe will once again have no place in this scenario.
That’s an awfully long way round to that single sentence conclusion.

[Regnum] New major protests in France will take place on November 3 and 5.
Noted.
The National Union of Students of France announced this on November 2.
The union's press service noted on its Facebook page that the French government is not listening to the protesters' views. The organization called on students to attend general meetings at universities on November 3 and block their work, and to hold a street protest on November 5.
Earlier that day, high school students in several major French cities resumed their blockade of lycées. Classes are suspended, particularly at some schools in Paris and Toulouse. French Education Minister Édouard Geffret urged protesters not to interfere with their classmates' attendance, stated that reforming the education system in 48 hours is impossible, and promised that some changes to educational institutions could be implemented as early as January 2027.
Large-scale protests in France began in September. They included schoolchildren demanding improved learning conditions. Later, other groups joined the protests, including those expressing economic demands, particularly against rising fuel prices and declining real incomes. Hundreds of thousands of people participated in the protests, some of which escalated into riots. According to official figures, 320,000 people took part in the October 31 rallies.
[Rudaw] Iraq has carried out joint intelligence-led anti-drug operations in seven Arab and regional countries, making it one of the leading Arab countries in combating drugs beyond its borders, the head of Iraq's narcotics directorate said on Monday.
Operations were conducted in coordination with security agencies in Kuwait, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Libya and relied on "accurate intelligence provided by Iraqi agencies" to track international smuggling networks and seize large quantities of drugs, Ahmed Saleh al-Zarkani, director general of the Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs, told the state-run Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"Iraq has become one of the leading Arab countries in carrying out specialized operations to combat drugs outside its borders, in coordination with the competent authorities in sister and friendly countries," he stated.
The operations come amid an ongoing nationwide crackdown on narcotics in Iraq. The UNODC highlighted Iraq in a July 2024 report as an increasingly important hub for regional drug trafficking, with Captagon seizures rising nearly 3,380 percent between 2019 and 2023, reaching more than 4.1 tons in 2023 alone.
The seizures outside Iraq totaled around nine tons, including Captagon, crystal methamphetamine and hashish, Zarkani said.
He also pointed to the seizure of 20 kilograms of marijuana in an unnamed neighboring country, saying specialized teams from the directorate had been deployed to coordinate with local authorities and carry out the necessary security measures.
"These operations reflect the development of Iraq's intelligence capabilities and the directorate's ability to reach criminal networks beyond the borders, rather than limiting efforts to pursuing their activities inside the country," he said.
Zarkani underscored the latest external operation carried out in Libya, “based entirely on Iraqi intelligence monitoring,” which “resulted in the seizure of 1.2 million narcotic pills," adding that the drugs belonged to a criminal network operating from Chad. He also underlined trust and exchange of information underpinning international cooperation, alongside developing technical and field capabilities to carry out preemptive operations against criminal networks before drugs reach the market.

The American Alhurra channel claims: The Iraqi Prime Minister sent four military brigades to Basra after receiving information indicating that factions close to Iran are planning to attack Kuwait from the province.
The factions intended to launch drones from Basra toward Kuwait and carry out ground attacks on its borders in the event of war breaking out with Iran. Information about this attack reached Baghdad from a Gulf country.
There is now ongoing coordination between the Iraqi intelligence service, the Iraqi army, and Gulf countries to prevent any attacks targeting Gulf states from Iraq.

[Jpost] While the IRGC spokesperson did not specifically name Russia in the interview, it is the only established manufacturer of Su-35s.
Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... will reportedly receive Russian-made Su-35 fighter jets after the US-Iran war ends, Revolutionary Guards front man General Mohammad Akraminia told Iranian media on Sunday.
Akraminia claimed that before the war began at the end of February, the IRGC was in the final stages of procuring the fighter jets. He told the Persian-language outlet Tabnak that the Su-35s were meant to arrive before the war.
Akramina did not elaborate as to why they were not delivered before the fighting began.
"We had already completed the necessary preliminary work, including the procurement process and the signing of contracts. The necessary work concerning pilot training and instruction had also been completed, and there were no longer any problems in that regard," he said.
"In fact, these aircraft were supposed to arrive before the war. God willing, we will certainly receive them after the war and upgrade our air fleet."
IRAN CLAIMS IT PLANS TO STRENGTHEN AIR DEFENSES AFTER WAR WITH US
Akraminia added that the IRGC plans to roll out more advanced aircraft, including the Su-35.
"We have also made progress domestically. Of course, purchasing equipment from abroad will bring us closer to advanced technologies, which we can then use as a foundation for further development," he added.
While he did not specifically name Russia in the interview, it is the only established manufacturer of Su-35s. The fighter jet is Russian-designed and produced by Sukhoi, part of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation.
However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits... Russia allows other countries, including Iran, to operate the fighter jets.
Akraminia added that Iran is working to develop ground-based and airborne radar systems, as well as satellites to strengthen the country’s air defenses.
"When you operate an advanced aircraft such as the Su-35, you must also have ground-based systems, airborne systems, and satellite capabilities supporting it. Only then can the aircraft reach its full operational potential," he added.
Akraminia noted that the US sanctions against Iran have made it difficult to rebuild the country’s military.
"Sometimes sanctions affect trade, goods, oil, and similar areas. But they also affect defense and military technologies," he said.
"The Americans have absolutely refused to allow these new technologies to enter our country. They have imposed very severe sanctions.
"Everything we have achieved, all the capabilities you mentioned, has been developed domestically through the efforts of our own specialists and young people working in the country's defense industries, universities, and knowledge-based companies."
He then claimed that during both wars with the US, Iran "did not use a single foreign-produced weapon."
[Jpost] The Mecca pact is being pushed now to fill the power vacuum that could be created should the Islamic regime fall, JCPA expert Yoni Ben-Menachem told The Post.
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa is serving Ottoman Turkish interests by seeking to join the Mecca Pact and expand a Sunni Islamist axis led by the Moslem Brüderbund, potentially positioning it to fill the power vacuum should Iran’s Islamic regime fall, Yoni Ben-Menachem, a senior researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani confirmed on Saturday that "discussions are currently underway to evaluate Syria’s entry into the Mecca alliance," according to Syrian state media. The alliance currently includes The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...a NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants... member, but not the most reliable... , Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start... , Pakistain, and, potentially soon, Egypt, bringing together several major Sunni powers.
"They estimate that Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... is about to collapse, so they created this Mecca Pact, this Mecca alliance, which will also include Sunni countries that are not part of the Moslem Brüderbund but are also Sunni. They will fill the vacuum left by the collapse of the Shi’ite axis following the fall of the Iranian regime," he said, theorizing that Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... would soon announce it is considering joining.
Despite this, Iran has responded positively so far to the Mecca Pact, with experts previously telling the Post that the regime viewed the new security alliance as a shift away from Washington, weakening the United States’ power in the Middle East and Gulf. Senior officials from the pact countries held open talks with Tehran in Iran last week.
He noted that since the fall of the Assad regime, there have been growing calls among Syrians in large-scale demonstrations and mosques calling for jihad against Israel, specifically to claim the Golan Heights, territory Israel claimed during the 1967 Six Day War.
EXPANSIONIST AMBITIONS GO BEYOND ISRAEL'S SECURITY ZONE, MENACHEM ARGUES
That desire for expansion, he continued, was not simply a response to Israel’s security zone, though Menachem argued that it justified the zone’s presence, but part of an expansionist aspiration.
"They always had aspirations to take over Leb ...The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. Only one of those statements is an exaggeration.... , and up until 2005, there was a military presence of the Syrian army in Lebanon," he said. "They had to withdraw from Lebanon after the liquidation of Rafic Hariri, the [former] Lebanese prime minister."
SYRIA SEEKS TO REBUILD ARMY FROM ARMED GROUPS WITH TURKISH SUPPORT
Now, Syria is focused on building up its army with the more than 130 gangs currently dispersed across the country, with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... forming the "backbone" of this new venture, he continued, all with Ottoman Turkish support.
"According to Israeli security sources, this new army poses a danger to Israel if it succeeds in being formed, because its members are jihadists who are considering attacking Israel in the future. They are also supported by Turkey, which is very hostile toward Israel," Menachem said.
"This is why Israel says the threat justifies the establishment of the security zone. We cannot take the risk of withdrawing from the zone, because they could do to us what Hamas ..always the voice of sweet reason... did to the Jewish communities along the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. [Rudaw] Two prominent Kurdish universities, including the largest higher education institution in the Kurdish-held areas (Rojava), have rejected decisions by Syria’s Ministry of Higher Education to merge into the country’s university system, demanding that their academic autonomy, Kurdish identity, and existing departments be preserved.
The measures form part of Damascus’ ongoing implementation to bring institutions established under the Kurdish-led administration under the umbrella of national frameworks following a late January agreement between the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES) governing Rojava and the interim authorities in Damascus.
The agreement has in recent weeks become a focal point of negotiations over the future of Kurdish-administered institutions and the extent of their autonomy.
In a statement issued Monday, the Rojava University Council said that while the university had been open to the integration process from its onset, the ministry’s latest decisions "did not meet our expectations in any way and did not respond to our legitimate demands" and "are completely far from the academic, social and historical reality of our region."
The council stressed that the university’s identity and current status must remain intact during the academic year while discussions continue toward a mutually agreed arrangement.
Separately, Kobane University students and staff rejected a decision by Syria’s interim government to merge the institution with the University of Aleppo, demanding that no fundamental changes be imposed without consulting the university community, Hawar News Agency (ANHA), affiliated with Rojava authorities, reported Monday.
In a statement delivered outside the university campus, faculty members and students categorically opposed incorporating Kobane University as a campus of the University of Aleppo or changing its name, administrative structure, or curriculum.
"Kobane and Rojava universities are not merely names, but an academic identity, a cultural uniqueness, and an educational right worthy of respect and protection," the statement said.
The dispute follows a late October announcement by Syria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research stating the Council of Higher Education’s approval to merge several universities with the aim of "unifying the regulatory authority of higher education institutions in the Syrian Arab Republic."
The decisions, adopted during a council session earlier in the month, included merging Rojava University in Qamishli into al-Furat University and affiliating its faculties with the state-run institution and merging Kobane University into the University of Aleppo, thereby placing its faculties under Aleppo University’s authority.
In its Monday statement, the Rojava University Council called on the ministry to recognize the university’s "Kurdish character" and guarantee that no academic departments are closed, and preserve the specializations established to meet the region’s educational and practical needs.
The council also warned that an abrupt transition to Arabic-only instruction would create considerable difficulties for Kurdish students who have studied in their mother tongue for the past 12 years.
It further cited the region’s deteriorating economic conditions, saying students and their families could not afford the costs of pursuing higher education in other Syrian governorates.
Kurdish leaders have made constitutional recognition of the Kurdish language, particularly its use in education, a central demand in the negotiations, seeking to safeguard linguistic and cultural rights developed during more than a decade of autonomous administration.
Since 2011, Kurdish authorities have operated a separate education system in northeast Syria, replacing the former state curriculum and introducing Kurdish as a language of instruction.
In July, Syrian Higher Education Minister Marwan al-Halabi visited Rojava University and announced plans to gradually integrate it with state-run al-Furat University.
Accompanied by Hasaka Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad, Halabi said a specialized national committee would oversee the process, beginning with an assessment of students, academic programs, staff, and infrastructure, followed by the alignment of curriculum and academic standards. He said at the time the process would ensure that "no academic year or scientific effort is lost."
The proposal followed earlier steps by Damascus to bring universities established under the Kurdish-led administration into the national education system.
In February, the ministry announced the formation of a committee to oversee the merger of al-Sharq University, established in 2021 by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES), with an al-Furat University branch in Raqqa.
Damascus said previous certificates issued by al-Sharq University would be recognized under existing legal frameworks, while a separate agreement reached in June allowed students in the region to sit national examinations and obtain government-recognized certificates.

[Regnum] Iran may strike American bases in Europe if aggression against the Islamic Republic resumes. Iranian parliament member Manouchehr Mottaki stated this on November 2.
"Outside the region means 'to places that are used against us.' At the moment, the geographic area—and there is evidence of this—is Europe... So, in the context of the absence of geographic restrictions—yes, this means our missiles will reach Europe," ISNA quotes Mottaki as saying.
According to the British newspaper The Times, Iran could attack US military facilities in the UK, Germany, Italy and Portugal, and could also disrupt undersea internet cables.
On October 30, Al Mayadeen TV reported that Iran was prepared to immediately implement an updated operational plan in the event of a military attack on the country. Potential targets included political installations, centers, and headquarters of the enemy and its regional supporters. If the attacker resorts to terrorist actions, the list of targets Iran considers legitimate could expand even further.
Earlier, the MS NOW television channel reported that the US could resume strikes on Iran on November 4, the day after the midterm congressional elections. It was noted that the US administration warned allies in the region to prepare for a "short, intense round of strikes." Axios also reported that the US and Israel are coordinating actions in the event of renewed large-scale strikes on Iran after the midterm elections.

#Iranian Nuclear Facility at Fordo, buried tens of meters deep into the heart of the mountain, out of reach of bunker-busting bombs like the GBU-57 weighing 13 tons and capable of penetrating up to 60 meters.. It might succeed if the dropping operation is repeated with successive penetrations and explosions—not simultaneous ones—coordinated with strikes on the facility's entrances and exits and ventilation openings....Therefore:
1- Either a #Landing_Operation with specialized special units onto this facility, which is fraught with risks and requires, prior to execution, area bombardment, air superiority, and scorching of the surrounding miles, as it also demands specialized paratrooper forces to occupy the mountaintops and surrounding hills to secure support and defense for these units during their operation to extract the enriched uranium if possible, or to plant explosives then withdraw and completely demolish the facility.
2- Or resorting to the use of the #B61-12_Tactical_Nuclear_Bomb, which is a smart precision bomb with explosive yields starting at 7 kilotons, designed to penetrate deep then detonate catastrophically inside the mountain, leading to collapses and fractures that keep the radiation resulting from it confined underground without rising to the surface, thereby achieving the objective of destroying all nuclear activity there.
- The probability of success for GBU-57 bombs through successive penetration and multiple explosions exists but is slim and not guaranteed with a high success rate.
The probability 1 (landing operation, planting explosives, and demolition) is possible but not guaranteed with a reasonable success rate, and it poses greater danger to the attacker.
- The probability 2 (tactical nuclear bomb) is highly feasible, poses no risk to the attacker, and its results are assured, with radiation concerns from it remaining present but at low levels that can be contained.

The GBU57 won't penetrate Pickaxe Mountain to the depth required. The B61-11 nuke can only be delivered by the B2 which is unlikely to survive the attempt (the best stealth can be defeated when the defenders are expecting you at an extremely specific location). The B61-12 nuke is deliverable by F15E, F16 and F35A, which is most likely. However this bomb is not technically earth penetrating and so can't guarantee reaching deep enough into the mountain. If the plan is to use a nuke, then it needs to be 100% successful to sell the result to the public. Otherwise, a Rubicon has been crossed that can't be uncrossed.

RE #4: Enough of them used repeatedly will solve the problem for all eternity. Remember, you're dealing with psychopathic madmen here, not sane individuals that make logical decisions. Sometimes, the "insane" solution is the only one that will work.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
