[PJMedia] As antisemitism surges under New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, more than 100 Orthodox Jewish families are packing up and heading south, and more are following.
They're bound for Lakefront Estates, a $300 million, 550-acre development in Glades County, Fla., where 60 families have already settled. The community officially opened in October with a synagogue, a yeshiva, and a kosher supermarket. CEO Yidel Perlstein told the New York Post that Orthodox Jews made up the first wave of buyers because many were desperate to leave New York, though anyone can buy a home there. Prices start at $460,000 for a four-bedroom, 2,500-square-foot house and reach $585,000 for a seven-bedroom, 3,700-square-foot one.
The families who spoke to the Post said the final push came from City Hall.
"You could feel the antisemitism everywhere; even my community Borough Park changed after Mamdani came in," said Morris, a former Brooklyn resident who gave only his first name because he fears retaliation.
A mother of four, who also asked not to be named, now works as an educator in the new community alongside her husband. "New York has become increasingly antisemitic, we've been facing that a lot," she told the Post. High housing costs and Florida's private school tuition vouchers factored into her family's decision too.
The numbers back them up. NYPD data shows hate crimes in New York City are up nearly 16% from last year, and half of them targeted Jews. Half. In a city with the largest Jewish population in the country, that should set off alarms at every level of government.
The exodus reaches well beyond the five boroughs.
New York state Assemblyman Aron Wieder (D-Rockland County) said 20 families from his heavily Orthodox district have already relocated to Lakefront.
"All my grandparents were Holocaust survivors, never would they have dreamed that their descendants would have to face what they faced in the leadup to the Holocaust," Wieder said. "For a Jew to have to look over their shoulder when they're walking down the street, it's very disturbing," he added.
Wieder also blamed high taxes and housing costs, and he's right about that.
A Citizens Budget Commission study found New York has the highest state and local taxes in the country, at roughly $13,000 per person, and the 2026 Realtor Housing Report Card ranked the state dead last in housing affordability and homebuilding. Orthodox families tend to be large and need bigger homes or costly additions, which keep slipping out of reach. Decades of Democrat Party governance had already made New York a punishing place to raise a big family.
Mamdani turned it into a hostile one.
Florida offers a fresh start, though not a perfect one. Perlstein said most Glades County locals have welcomed the newcomers and that his investment has helped the local economy, but a pair of online influencers showed up in mid-October to stir up trouble against the residents. Perlstein credited local authorities with protecting the community, and the families say they simply want to raise their kids and be good neighbors.

[Regnum] In recent weeks, the Rapid Intervention Forces (RIF), a rebel movement fighting against Sudan's central government, have been in dire straits. The RIF is rapidly losing territory, along with experienced commanders who prefer to surrender to the government in Khartoum.
Among those who recently left the group's ranks is Yudo Muhammad Adamu Hamma, who previously commanded key units in the rebel capital, including the personal guard of the RSF leader. The defection of the security chief is in many ways symptomatic—especially in light of his close ties to the sponsors of the conflict—and promises significant changes on the Sudanese front.
A DEMARCHE OF EITHER A COLONEL OR A GENERAL
Hamma's biography, as befits a field commander, is full of blank spots and inconsistencies. Even his military rank is uncertain—reports list him as either a colonel or a major general. However, within the SBR, he was positioned as a senior officer, part of the inner circle of the group's leader, "Little Muhammad" ( Muhammad Hamdan Daglo ), and his brother, Abdelrahim Daglo.
According to available information, Hamma led the defense of the southern sector of Nyala, the de facto capital of the insurgency in South Darfur, for a long time. He also served as the commander of the Daglo brothers' personal guard (also known as the "Little Muhammad Guard").
Within the RSF system, the unit simultaneously handled security for senior officials, counterintelligence work, and overseeing the distribution of prisoners; indirectly, it was responsible for distributing humanitarian aid in occupied areas. This made Hamma one of the key and influential security officials in the rebel camp.
His move was all the more unexpected. On October 24, Hamma recorded a video message in which he declared that he now served the government and would fight in the name of the country's leader, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
POINT OF NO RETURN
Hamma's sudden defection to Khartoum's government is a high-profile, but far from isolated, case of high-ranking rebel officials defecting. For example, in early October, Mohamed Azraq al-Fanjari, a battalion commander in one of the special forces units, defected to the government.
Moreover, he brought with him almost the entire personnel of his assigned unit—about 300 men in 30 vehicles. Most of them expressed a desire to fight against their former comrades-in-arms.
Several months earlier, Major General An-Nur Ahmed Adam and Colonel Daifallah Adam defected to the army. Both had previously coordinated offensive operations in the RSF and were responsible for strategic planning within the group.
All the commanders, as if from a carbon copy, explain their revision of views by the same reasons: rampant corruption in the ranks of the RSF, the lack of understanding of the real situation "on the ground" by Daglo and his associates (and, as a result, the increasing frequency of "meat assaults" on government positions), and the moral decay of the personnel.
At the same time, everyone considers the same episode to be a kind of point of no return for the RSF: the capture of El Fasher, a major defensive hub for government forces in Darfur, in October 2025 after a year and a half of siege.
Many field commanders involved in the fighting in this area expected promotions. However, Daglo chose to assign lucrative positions to those who could offer the most money. Thus, he elevated shadow gold miners and other members of the local criminal underworld, most of whom had never even seen the front.
At that time, many commanders harbored a grudge against the leadership of the RSFSR and, at the first serious change in the operational situation, began to gradually defect to the other side.
MOOD SWINGS
However, there is another, more rational explanation for the sharp decline in the loyalty of field commanders. Specifically, the decline in direct support from the UAE—until recently the key shadow sponsor of the rebel forces in Sudan.
In the spring of 2026—when the first cases of mass defections among the RRF command staff began to be recorded—Abu Dhabi faced more pressing challenges. With the escalation of the Gulf conflict, the sheikhs were forced to focus their efforts on defending their own airspace from Iranian strikes, temporarily putting support for the rebels in Sudan on the back burner.
While there is likely no talk of a systemic cut in funding, Abu Dhabi remains more concerned with its own security, which is impacting the scale of supplies and funding.
Furthermore, the Gulf sheikhs are clearly seeking to streamline and "reboot" the RSF project, making it less "toxic," especially in light of the constant accusations against "Little Muhammad" supporters of violating the laws of war and humanitarian law.
Thus, over the past six months, the Emirates have already transferred a significant portion of the RRF training infrastructure to Ethiopia (where Israeli military advisers are also involved in training future personnel), thus transferring personnel training under the supervision of new intermediaries.
Logistics also changed: the firms that had handled these contracts during the initial stages of the civil war were suddenly sidelined from control over military supplies to Sudan. Many of them were linked to the Daglo family and their trusted associates.
Hamma's defection was further indirect confirmation of impending changes. Since the "guard" entrusted to him was trained and maintained almost entirely by the UAE (and the general himself, due to his close ties to the underground leaders, likely had close ties with Emirati military advisers), only a significant shift in sentiment in Abu Dhabi could have prompted him to switch camps. This included the disappearance of security guarantees from the UAE for the rebellion's leaders.
Therefore, it's possible that other field commanders, less immune to possible elimination, will soon follow the example of the former influential security official. This will undoubtedly accelerate the pace of the Sudanese army's advance in Darfur.
Let us hope this war will soon be over, letting a mutilated people space and time to recover.
Well done, British navy! And that despite the perfidy of the current government, so extra kudos there.
[SKY, ht Wretchard] Britain's enemies and its NATO allies will likely take note of the unusual deployment. At least one of the three vessels will be carrying nuclear-armed ballistic missiles.
It is not clear why, but at least one of the vessels will be armed with nuclear warheads and be on routine patrol.
An expert said one of the other Vanguard-class submarines would likely be working up to take over the patrol, while the third could be undergoing sea trials.
The unusual deployment of most of the UK's fleet suggests improved availability, which has been a problem for the Royal Navy's submarine service in recent years.
It will doubtless be noted by the UK's enemies and its NATO allies.
The continuous deployment of at least one Trident submarine is regarded as the UK's ultimate security guarantee - its continuous at-sea deterrence.
Having three such submarines at sea at the same time is not routine, however.
The Times, which was the first to report on the activity, spoke to a source who described it as "unusual", though they did not explain why.
Any change in the rhythm of the UK's nuclear-armed vessels is potentially significant, given the devastating weapons they carry.
Such action could be used to send a signal to opponents.
HMS Victorious, the fourth of the ageing Trident submarines, is in Devonport naval base undergoing maintenance.

[IsraelTimes] UK anti-terrorism police said Tuesday two men have been charged with national security offenses after an incident last month at a British airbase used by the United States, linking the scare to Iran.
The head of National Counter Terrorism Policing, Laurence Taylor, said two British men aged 24 have been charged: one with assisting a foreign intelligence service, believed to be in Iran, and another with entering a prohibited place for a purpose "prejudicial" to the UK.
This is the first time that anyone has been charged over the incident, though police arrested seven suspects in the days afterwards, before releasing them on bail.
Police were called to the Royal Air Force’s Fairford base in southwest England in the early hours of September 27 after a local farmer reported a group of men with several white vans engaged in "suspicious" activity.
Days later the United States abruptly withdrew all its B-1 bombers from the base.
A week ago police said they had rearrested two of the suspects, one of whom has now been charged.
Police charged 24-year-old Nouman Essghir with entering or approaching a "prohibited place" for a purpose "prejudicial" to the interests of the United Kingdom.
Essghir was arrested at the scene in Gloucestershire and then released on bail, before police rearrested him a week ago.
The police chief said the charge against Essghir related to "suspected activity" more than a month earlier, on August 22, without giving any details.
The second man who has been charged, 24-year-old Mohmed Ahmad Abdulkarim, was arrested after being interviewed under caution over the last week, police said.
He has been charged with assisting a foreign intelligence service. "In this case, we believe that country to be Iran," the police service said.
Both of the charged men live in Westminster, a district in London.
Six other men remain on bail, all living in London and aged between 23 and 25. One of these is a dual British and Iranian national.
[FOX] Two of the nation’s largest teachers unions spent hundreds of millions of dollars on political activism, lobbying and far-left advocacy groups over the last decade, according to a report from an education watchdog.
According to an investigation by the North American Values Institute (NAVI), a nonprofit watchdog that tracks ideological activism in education, the National Education Association (NEA) spent at least $547 million on political activity and advocacy between fiscal years 2016 and 2025. That total includes $458.9 million filed officially as political activity and lobbying, along with an additional $88.2 million in direct funding to progressive advocacy organizations.
To finance its political activities, "NEA delegates approved a $10 dues increase for a ballot-measure and media fund projected to generate more than $20 million annually," the report stated. With more than 3 million members, the NEA is the largest teachers' union in the country.
"During a May 2026 curriculum-building webinar, NEA national education campaign manager Kyle Serrette described his work as 'movement building.' The event included classroom activities involving strikes, unionization and comparisons between the Constitution and the Black Panther Party's Ten-Point Program," a NAVI spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
NAVI claims the primary beneficiaries of the NEA’s spending are intermediary political groups — including the State Engagement Fund, Strategic Victory Fund, and State Victory Fund LLC — which received a combined $80.2 million. The watchdog noted that routing money through these political intermediaries makes it significantly harder for dues-paying union members to track where their money goes.
The NEA also has its own super PAC, the NEA Advocacy Fund, which NAVI said received $116.9 million over the decade. The report also identified spending on international labor organizations.
According to the report, $30.1 million went to Education International, a global federation of teachers' unions that includes the General Union of Palestinian Teachers, which NAVI describes as an entity affiliated with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
The findings follow earlier scrutiny of the union's financial disclosures. An NEA Form LM-2 tax disclosure obtained by NAVI showed millions of dollars directed to progressive advocacy initiatives and political causes, according to the watchdog.
Meanwhile, the nation's second-largest teachers union, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), reported $383.2 million in political activity and lobbying expenditures between fiscal years 2016 and 2025, according to NAVI.
"Of $331.95 million in itemized political payments, $123.35 million went to outside political organizations and committees, $179.99 million to affiliates and internal accounts, and $28.6 million to vendors and consultants," a NAVI spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
According to NAVI, four national partisan political committees received a combined $45.7 million from the AFT, representing more than one-third of the union's payments to outside political organizations and committees.
"The AFT spent heavily on political causes unrelated to traditional education bargaining, including $1 million on an Ohio redistricting measure, $1 million on Oregon's Measure 97, $1 million on California's Proposition 15 and $1.125 million across Wisconsin Supreme Court election cycles," a NAVI spokesperson stated.
The spokesperson added that "the AFT provided at least $2.08 million in identifiable payments to Education International, the global teachers' federation that includes the PLO-affiliated General Union of Palestinian Teachers."
NAVI concluded that the political activities of both the AFT and NEA extended far beyond core education policy into broader campaigns involving elections, redistricting, tax policy, foreign relations and ideological advocacy.

Time to decertify the teacher's unions, they're no longer a union but a PAC and possible terrorist organization.
A union exist to protect their members, not to tell the employers how to conduct their business. Anything else, belong to different categorizes
As such the so called 'teacher's unions'failed in their missions and should be banned.

Oct 28 (Reuters) - In the AI capital of the world, sixth-grade humanities teacher Tristen Chang is designing her classroom so students can’t rely on chatbots.
Starting last year, Chang did away with take-home essays and began using oral exams to test students at her San Francisco school. She asks students 15 questions about character, plot, theme and metaphor, which they can answer in as little as five minutes.
"There’s been a long march of technology changing teaching, but AI is the most drastic," Chang said. "Everything’s out the window.”
As generative AI becomes ubiquitous, US middle and high school teachers are rethinking how they assess learning. Educators are assigning less take-home work, increasing in-class writing and discussion, and redesigning assignments to measure students' thinking rather than simply their answers, according to Reuters interviews with a dozen teachers and education experts across the country.
School systems remain divided over AI, leaving many teachers to navigate the transition largely on their own. Some want AI integrated into classrooms; others want it restricted. Many occupy a middle ground.
“Where many adults are using these tools for various kinds of purposes to help them in work-based settings, we haven't really figured out what that means for education,” said Antero Garcia, an education professor at Stanford University and president of the National Council of Teachers of English.
Not surprising at all. Even a paramecium will turn away from pain, it’s said, so why not American Jews?
[RedState] Since the dawn of the MAGA era, Democrats are seeing many of their core constituencies disappear. Every election, President Donald Trump has seen his share of support among black, Hispanic, and other minority voters grow as they abandoned the Democrat Party. They are reliable voting blocs that Democrats have taken for granted. Now, they may be down to one of their last die-hard groups of supporters, and even they may be fading fast.
According to a new poll by pollsters John and Jim McLaughlin, among Jewish voters, Republicans are up by 31 points over Democrats. Even though the sample of Jewish voters was small, the poll surveyed 1,000 likely voters nationwide, with Jews making up around just four percent of the polling sample. The poll showed that 64 percent of Jewish voters supported Republicans for Congress, and 33 percent supported Democrats. In an election cycle that has a real possibility of swinging to either party, a shift in the Jewish vote is significant.
In places like New York, where Democrats have long enjoyed a majority of the Jewish vote, separate polling data analyzed by CNN's Harry Enten is telling a different story. In House races in 2022, Democrats were up among Jewish voters by 49 points. This year, that number has dropped to just 13 points. Protestant, Catholic, and Evangelical voters all favored Republicans in the poll. Democrats were favored by secular, atheist, agnostic, or voters with no religious affiliation, as well as Muslim voters.
[Jpost] With almost 3.5 million votes counted, Netanyahu's bloc reaches 56 seats, opposition falls to 48 • Nearly 80% of IDF troops voted in the 2026 Knesset elections
Israel’s Central Election Committee was tallying votes on Wednesday, the results of which are displayed above, but it will likely take until Thursday before definitive results of the election are known.
Exit polls can help give a general sense of each party’s relative strength but are not considered a reliable barometer of precise results, particularly in Israel’s fragmented political system.
With some 77.6% of votes tallied, Netanyahu’s bloc was projected to win around 44.2% of seats in the 120-seat Knesset. Eisenkot’s bloc would take some 38.3%, and unaligned parties would take 16.5%. That distribution will likely change as more votes are tallied.
Candidate lists that pass a 3.25% vote share threshold are then allocated seats in the Knesset in proportion to the number of votes they received.

The two Haredi parties currently are projected to win only 14 seats. They have 18 in current Knesset. Unlikely to increase that as most uncounted votes are military and hospital workers.

At least, you can't accuse an Israeli voter on going by appearances
Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
[ColonelCassad] The US will join the hypersonic club in 2027.
The US announced that it has signed the first contract to supply a batch of hypersonic missiles to the Pentagon.
Thus, in 2027, the US will join the hypersonic club, which currently includes Russia, China, India, Iran, Yemen, and North Korea. China and North Korea have not yet used their hypersonic weapons in combat. The others have already used them with great success.
Current air defense systems have only limited ability to counter hypersonic weapons. Europe expects to have its own hypersonic weapons by 2033-2035. The most promising project is the Franco-German one.
The AGM-183A missile being purchased. Trump hasn't given it any pretentious names yet. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it could be used against Iran as part of ongoing tests.
Incidentally, regarding Russia's technological "backwardness," the Russian Federation was able to produce a mass-produced hypersonic missile and successfully deploy it almost 10 years before the US.

uuuuuggghhhh.... hypersonic is a speed measurement. Germany had a "hypersonic" in WW2 with the V2. The US has had one since the late 1940s.
But now it seems it is a real (barf) terminology which means when the missile is coming in at its terminal phase, it is going hypersonic and can maneuver.
No nation currently fields that type of weapon. Yes technically the Russians put a ballistic missile sidewise and it hits at terminal speed, but it can't maneuver. The Chinese glide vehicle from the few leaked radar tracks we have seen does NOT hit hypersonic speeds when it hits, but it does maneuver... kinda... at least.

Seems that all them countries is trying to play the FUD game (Fear, Uncertainly, Doubt)
The US (under Trump) on the other hand isn't saying much which means we got stuff that would leave the other side quacking in their boots, along with a necessary change of undergarments.

Syria’s civil defense agency said it had recovered the bodies of seven people killed in strikes in the southern Daraa and Sweida provinces. Five members of one family, including three children and a woman, were killed together in a strike that hit a tent in rural Daraa province and three other family members were injured, it said. An 80-year-old man and a 60-year-old man were killed in separate strikes, it said.
The Syrian government said the Jordanian operation took place “without prior coordination or notification with the Syrian side.” It said Syrian authorities were investigating the circumstances of the incident and had opened communication channels with Jordan to discuss the situation.
Syria’s General Authority for Ports and Customs later announced the closure of Syria’s main border crossing with Jordan.
Earlier on Monday, Jordanian authorities arrested three men for last week’s attack, which also wounded more than two dozen people. The arrests followed a dawn shootout, and all three men were wounded, officials said.
Later on Monday, the Public Security Directorate’s chief described the gunmen as takfiri, a term used for Sunni militants, but said they were not tied to any organized group.
“They only represent themselves,” Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Abd Rabbo Al-Maayta told a news conference. He also said a large cache of munitions was found in the abandoned house where Jordanian forces apprehended the men.
