...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... on Wednesday, seeking materials to determine whether the company’s board is letting the newspaper promote biased editorial coverage against Israel.
Both petitioners are shareholders, and the Florida pension fund had about $235.7 billion of assets under management as of August 31.
According to a petition filed in a New York state court in Manhattan, a series of factual errors in Times reporting on various subjects supports a reasonable inference that the board has allowed journalistic standards to be "weaponized within the company to serve the personal agendas of unchecked editors."
The State Board of Administration of Florida, which oversees the Florida Retirement System Trust Fund, and the National Center for Public Policy Research said they are not second-guessing the newspaper’s editorial judgment, but want assurances the board is taking necessary safeguards to ensure The Times follows its editorial standards and avoids "biased and unreliable" reporting.
"This lawsuit has no merit and was brought for an improper purpose," Times spokesperson Charlie Stadtlander said.
Wednesday’s petition is based in part on claims by an unnamed former Times newsroom employee who worked there for a decade and expressed concern about ostensible anti-Israel bias as early as 2019, four years before Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... ’s October 7, 2023, onslaught sparked the war in Gazoo

The whistleblower reported pushback in the newsroom against linking the Gaza health ministry to Hamas, which controls the ministry, and against referring to Hamas attackers as "terrorists."
The whistleblower also described staff rejecting footage from a source deemed "pro-Israel," demands to use the term "genocide" against Israel, and staff brushing off a Gaza freelancer’s praise of Adolf Hitler ...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days, sometimes every few hour if it's an election year, as a politician somebody doesn't like... as "just some jokes.
Three trustees, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, both Republicans, oversee the SBA, which serves more than 1.2 million members and beneficiaries.
Uthmeier’s office and the National Jewish Advocacy Center, which represents the SBA, and the National Center for Public Policy Research did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Some of those deported say they were not given enough time to collect their belongings and that meeting their basic needs has become one of their main concerns after returning to Afghanistan.
Zakir, a deported migrant, said: "They would not let us live there. They even threatened to demolish our homes."
For families returning to Afghanistan after years of living abroad, starting life again is not easy. Migration experts say employment, shelter and access to services are among their most pressing needs.
Mohammad Khan Talibi Mohammadzai, a migrant rights activist, said: "The large-scale return of Afghan migrants colonists without proper planning puts additional pressure on Afghanistan’s labor market, housing and public services. The Afghan government must immediately establish a joint mechanism among the relevant institutions for the registration, settlement, employment and reintegration of returnees."

Lack of employment, insecurity, and the rising cost of living are some of the reasons that, according to the migrants colonists themselves, led them to once again embark on the journey to the United States.
More than 400 Hondurans, including young people, mothers with their children, and people from different parts of the country, gathered at the Gran Central Metropolitana in San Pedro Sula to begin their journey north.
The travelers arrived from various municipalities hoping to find job opportunities and improve their living conditions. Some indicated that their income was insufficient to cover basic expenses, while others cited insecurity as one of the factors that motivated them to leave Honduras again.
Just a reminder: These eventual "asylum seekers" will pass thousands of miles through two Spanish-speaking countries on their way to our southern border. They are by definition not fleeing persecution; they are looking to sneak into our country or lie to authorities about conditions in their homeland to take advantage of our asylum laws.

Among those who embarked on the journey is Óscar Banegas Ramos , originally from Victoria, Yoro, who had already been deported from the United States and decided to try the migration route again .
Banegas explained that insecurity and lack of employment are some of the reasons why he made the decision to leave the country again, despite the risks involved in traveling the migration route.

[IsraelTimes] It has been over two years since Norway closed its diplomatic mission to the Paleostinian Authority in the West Bank city of al-Ram, severing Oslo’s main conduit to Paleostinians on the ground.
Norway was forced to shutter the mission in August 2024 after Israel expelled its diplomats working there.
Days earlier, Norway submitted an amicus brief to the International Criminal Court in defense of a war crimes case against Israel. Three months before that, it joined Spain and Ireland in recognizing Paleostinian statehood.
Now, Norway has joined the United Kingdom and 10 other Western countries in advancing sanctions against Israeli settlements, potentially exposing Oslo to additional punitive measures by Jerusalem that could further limit its ability to help Paleostinians on the ground.
But Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide argued that the move was worth such a risk.
"You’re always trying to balance different interests, but at this point, it’s the right thing to do," Eide said in an interview Tuesday with The Times of Israel on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
He explained that the legislation being advanced by Norway’s parliament to outlaw trade with Israeli settlements will not target Israel proper, which Oslo has no interest in boycotting.
"Our trade with Israel must be within the 1967 borders, and we wanted to do something that would go beyond words in demonstrating that the behavior in the settlements is unacceptable," he argued, referring to Israeli communities in the West Bank that have expanded in record numbers under the current government, significantly limiting the territory left for a potential Paleostinian state.
"The fact that we are [issuing these sanctions] with many others will hopefully send a signal to Israel that... its behavior toward the Paleostinians is unacceptable," Eide said, highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Gazoo

In early 2024, Israel agreed to release Paleostinian tax revenues, as long as Norway temporarily held on to the portion earmarked for the Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... -controlled Gaza Strip. But Jerusalem ended that arrangement after Norway recognized a Paleostinian state, and the continued Israeli withholding of those funds has brought the PA to the brink of collapse.
In the UK, there was internal pushback over the decision to announce the settlement trade ban shortly before Israel’s upcoming election, given that the October 27 vote has the potential to usher in a new government in Jerusalem that could adopt a less hawkish approach toward the Paleostinians.
Asked if a similar calculation was being made in Norway, Eide said the Israeli election was a non-factor, before indicating that a final decision from the parliament in Oslo on legislation sanctioning settlements would likely come after the Knesset vote anyway.
’EXPECT TO SEE ELECTIONS’
While the Norwegian legislation outlawing trade with the settlement may not be able to directly benefit Paleostinians in the West Bank and Gaza, Eide noted that Oslo will continue advancing other initiatives on the file, including its hosting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee — an international panel that coordinates aid to the Paleostinians.
Norway was convening an AHLC donor meeting on the UN General Assembly sidelines, which will focus on advancing PA reform.
The goal is to boost Paleostinian institutions so they are ready for the transition to statehood when a political horizon is established, the Norwegian foreign minister explained, in a seeming acknowledgement that despite recognizing a Paleostinian state Oslo does not consider that to be a reality.
He maintained that Oslo was not giving the PA a blank check. "Together with other European countries, we are saying very clearly that we expect to see elections — not only legislative elections this year, but presidential elections next year."
Elections have not been held in over two decades amid repeated postponements by PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....> , though a legislative vote is scheduled for November 28 and a presidential race is supposed to be held next year. Eide suggested Norway could take potential measures against the Paleostinian Authority if it again delays elections.
ISRAEL ’VERY IMPRESSIVE,’ BUT...
Eide also participated in a French-led roundtable on Tuesday aimed at strengthening Israeli and Paleostinian civil society, while Norway was slated to co-host a Thursday ministerial on advancing a two-state solution, with the participation of 100 countries.
"There is this very dramatic paradox of the two-state solution, which looks further away on the ground than it ever did... while at the same time, political support for Paleostine has never been stronger," he said.
Support for the framework among Israelis has gradually fallen from the majority opinion in recent decades, with the opposition to it reinforced for many following the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, terror onslaught.
The top Norwegian diplomat insisted that he maintains a long-held appreciation for Israel. "It’s a very impressive country, a start-up nation and a leader of innovation."
"But it’s important for Israelis to recognize that they’ve gone too far, both in the West Bank and in Gaza," he said, referring to the Israeli military campaign against Hamas, which has resulted in tens of thousands of civilian casualties. Israel says it seeks to limit harm to innocents but that Hamas — which sparked the Gaza war with the October 7 invasion — operates among them.
"When you start losing support, particularly Western countries, first it goes slowly, and then it goes faster," he said outside the General Assembly chamber, where world leader after world leader laid into Israel over its policies toward the Paleostinians.
Eide pointed out that even the US has refrained from pushing back against the UK-led settlement sanctions.
"The US reaction to this was actually very mild. I think two years ago — even [under former US president Joe] Biden’s team, you would have had a much stronger reaction" against the sanctions, he continued. "So I would take that as a sign that sympathy for the Israeli government is on its way down."
’NO CONTACT DOESN’T TAKE YOU ANYWHERE’
Asked about a report in The Times of Israel from August revealing that the Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution worked to boost communication between the EU and Hamas in 2021, Eide defended the NGO funded by Oslo, arguing that engaging with Hamas authorities in Gaza was necessary for assisting Paleostinians living there.
"Our ethos is that speaking to people is not support... This idea that you should have no contact doesn’t take you anywhere," he argued. "If there’s one good thing about the current US administration, it is that they have exactly the same instinct."
The foreign minister asserted that he still wants Norway to be a gathering place for Israeli-Paleostinian dialogue, as it was in the 1990s.
However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things... he maintained that the format of that grinding of the peace processor born out of secret talks in the Norwegian capital fell short by not including repercussions for stagnation.
With initiatives like the settlement sanctions, "the idea here is to say that the world that helped establish Israel now wants to see this problem solved."
"Is the two-state solution difficult to achieve? Yes, and I could give you a long speech about how difficult it would be. And yet, the speech about the challenges of the alternative would be much longer," he maintained.

Michigan Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed has attempted to address mounting concerns from Jewish voters by rolling out ads and social media videos touting "Jews for Abdul." Featured in the spots are three left-wing "social justice" activists with ties to an anti-Israel group that excused Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... 's Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack, arguing it was a result of "Israeli apartheid and occupation."
A September 8 El-Sayed ad features former bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit ... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang... Jews for Justice "Culture and Technology Fellow" Daniel Klein, who sports a yarmulke and poses with his family as El-Sayed says he'll "be thinking about the people here" in Michigan, a Washington Free Beacon review found.
Klein is a former New York-based news hound for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency who covered the role of "left-wing Jewish activists" in the Occupy Wall Street protests. He left journalism in 2012 to become a "community organizer," and after a stint at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, he joined Detroit Jews for Justice—a self-described "social justice organization" that advocates "for housing justice, water rights, [and] reproductive justice"—in November 2018. Months earlier, Klein was arrested at the Michigan Poor People's Campaign, a series of rallies against "violence, racism, environmental devastation and poverty" that "leverag[ed] the age-old tactic of creative performative arrest" to "shed light on these injustices."
"Dan Klein is a former national news hound, and has worked as a field organizer for congressional and city of reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... elections—yet, he's proudest of the work he’s done in support of Detroit Jews for Justice," Klein's online bio stated at the time. "He currently awaits trial for misdemeanor charges incurred during the Poor People's Campaign. He has a kitten named Kovner."
Less than two weeks later, on September 19, El-Sayed released a Rosh Hashanah video filmed at the home of mother-daughter duo Missy and Elaine Shifman, who read prayers from a card and praised El-Sayed's single-payer Medicare for All health care platform. The Shifmans are a "family of liberal Jewish activists," according to a 2021 Jewish Telegraphic Agency profile of Missy's sister Pamela Shifman, who serves as president of the shadowy liberal megadonor group Democracy Alliance. "Melding Jewish expression with social justice was embedded in her upbringing in suburban Detroit," the piece notes.
That activism includes opposition to the state of Israel. Missy and Elaine Shifman appear to be members of the anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for Peace, having filmed a July 29 video for JVP expressing their support for El-Sayed. "For me, being Jewish has always been closely tied to fighting for human rights ...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions... and social justice for all people," Elaine says in the video. "Abdul ... is someone who believes in the rights and freedoms of every person, no exceptions, including Paleostinians," adds Missy.

While it's unclear whether Klein is a member of Jewish Voice for Peace, the group has close connections to Detroit Jews for Justice. JVP encouraged its members to attend the 2025 High Holidays at the Reconstructionist synagogue that founded Detroit Jews for Justice, Congregation T'chiyah, which JVP described as "very intergenerational and queer; predominantly white Ashkenazi space with anti-racist values." At least two of the group's "Political Evaluation Team," which "helps DJJ to navigate political decisions in our work," are members of JVP. Congregation T'chiyah hosted El-Sayed at its passover seder during his primary campaign against pro-Israel congresswoman Haley Stevens.

"Jews for Abdul" was launched ahead of El-Sayed's August primary against Stevens by Barbara Weinberg Barefield, a founding member of Detroit's JVP chapter, which hosted a rally accusing Israel of "genocide" and "apartheid" and demanding a ceasefire in Gaza nine days after October 7. Barefield herself has said Israel and the United States are guilty of "horrific war crimes" and "genocide." Weinberg Barefield, like El-Sayed, also backed the "Uncommitted" movement that called for a protest vote against former president Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant.... for being insufficiently anti-Israel. JVP's political arm endorsed El-Sayed in June.
Detroit Jews for Justice, by contrast, says "Israel/Paleostine is not a core focus of our organizing" and advocates for "co-liberation," which it says consists of "a shared stake in dismantling all systems of oppression." The group nonetheless issued a statement opposing the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's antisemitism definition, which it argued "does not adequately address the most dangerous form of antisemitism experienced by Jewish communities in America: white supremacist terror" and fails to provide "an analysis of solidarity and intersecting oppressions." Last year, Detroit Jews for Justice's annual gala featured El-Sayed and Rep. Rashida Tlaib ...the very first ever Paleostinian-American ever sworn into Congress in 2019. She is a member of The Squad and consistently votes against the U.S. national interest. She's a Dem, naturally, from a safe district you wouldn't want to live in (Michigan's 12th congressional district). She wants the country to be kinda like Gaza only without any Jews for neighbors... (D., Mich.) on its host committee and the pro-Hamas group CAIR Michigan as one of its sponsors.

"I also think it's just critical for us to understand that hurt people do hurt people, and the circumstances happening 6,000 miles away can affect the lives that we live here, and if we stand against violence, we've got to stand against violence, all violence," El-Sayed said of the attack.
He recently called the comment "a mistake" and issued a tepid apology, saying, "If my statement caused pain, I'm sorry. That was not what I intended." The apology "fell short with some Jewish Democrats in part because he seemed to be seeking forgiveness for the timing of his remark rather than its substance," the Times reported.
El-Sayed, Klein, and Missy and Elaine Shifman did not respond to requests for comment.
Stolen “valour”. How many more on the left are also fakes?
[NYPost] A woke "black" and anti-Israel activist has been dubbed the "Paleostinian Rachel Dolezal" after she was outed for being a white, Jewish woman who lied about her identity for years.
Hannah Gann, a Philadelphia teacher, was forced to confess she was a "white woman of significant privilege and wealth" after fellow lefty activists grew suspicious of her background and confronted her.
"I lied about my identity and have been lying for years. I have no Paleostinian or Tunisian heritage," she wrote in a self-aggrandizing apology on Instagram.
"I am a white woman of significant privilege and wealth. Anyone who supported me was manipulated and should not be judged as a result of their support for me," she continued.
A staunch figure in left-wing activist circles in Philly, Gann portrayed herself as a mixed-race woman with black and Paleostinian heritage. In reality, she is white and Israeli.
Gann was so outspoken against the Jewish state that she was once branded "Philadelphia’s Leading Antisemite" on a mobile billboard parked outside the school where she worked.
One of Gann’s former classmates at the University of Pennsylvania said she was known in college as "a self-proclaimed white Jewish woman with family in the occupied West Bank," the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Gann, who teaches at the Workshop School, a project-based Philadelphia School District high school, also defended Keziah Ridgeway, a fellow Philadelphia teacher the school district disciplined for private, pro-Paleostinian social media posts.
In a since-deleted post, Gann said that she had stolen "resources from CAIR [the Council on American-Islamic Relations ... the Moslem Brüderbund's American arm ... ] and other movement orgs. I am so sorry for all the harm I have caused."
The fraudster appeared shocked when confronted by The Post at her home, as she acknowledged "the harm" she had caused.
Of the deleted post, she claimed, "someone else asked me to post that. That’s why I took it down."
It isn’t clear what disciplinary measures, if any, Gann will face from her employer.
A spokesperson for the School District of Philadelphia told The Post it was "aware of social media posts concerning a District employee and her involvement with an outside advocacy organization.
"These posts reference the employee’s involvement in an external group. The District is making support available to The Workshop School staff and students, as needed," the spokesperson continued.
A biography of Gann still visible on the West Philly Participatory Defense Hub, a different local organizing group, describes her as having “loved ones directly impacted by the criminal (in)justice system” and notes that she is a member of The First Unitarian Church.
In her apology, which she posted on Yom Kippur, Gann argued that her advocacy was genuine even though her persona was not.

It was a 29-year-old former Canadian soldier exchanging gunfire with a police officer stationed outside the synagogue. The shooter, Sean Ward of Quinte West, Ontario, died from his wounds on Tuesday. Once police arrived at Sons of Jacob, they instructed everyone to wait inside until the area was clear. Congregants were then taken to the Belleville cop shoppe, where they were offered donuts and coffee, which Warren said they politely declined because they were fasting for Yom Kippur.

The Belleville shooting came two days after the arrest of 19-year-old Alexander Parfitt for allegedly posting online threats to shoot up a synagogue in Southern Ontario.
Marceau said that Canadian politicians have not sufficiently addressed the threat of antisemitism.
"There has been an all-level failure in the political sector and in law enforcement," he said. "It is a failure to understand the threats that Jews are facing."

There are also projects aimed at disarming Hamas, including the clearance of tunnels, a weapons buy-back program, mobilizing the International Stabilization Force and training a new Gaza police force.
NCAG chief commissioner Ali Shaath said the top priority would be projects to prepare Gaza for the winter as Board of Peace officials received warnings from Israeli meteorological experts who forecast an earlier winter this year, with more extreme conditions than normal, two sources familiar with the matter said.
Shaath insisted that his committee would be "color blind" when it comes to rebuilding projects, planning ones for both the "red zone" half of Gaza currently controlled by Hamas as well as the "green zone" half of the Strip currently controlled by Israel.
Skeptics fear that reconstruction will only take place in places outside of the red zone, where the overwhelming majority of Paleostinians are located. There are questions as to whether Gazooks will be willing to move to the green zone if Israel doesn’t withdraw its troops.

Pezeshkian also vowed in his speech that Iran will never compromise on its right to have a civilian nuclear enrichment program.
"We will not bow our heads and give up the right that is inherently ours," he said. "No nuclear weapons, and no limitations to new peaceful nuclear technology."
"We seek energy for progress, not to threaten societies with weapons," he insisted, calling peaceful nuclear technology "part of our inherent progress."
Pezeshkian accused the UN’s nuclear agency, the IAEA, of double standards regarding nuclear inspections, referring to Israel’s alleged nuclear weapons program.
"Atomic and nuclear bombs are in the hands of the Israeli regime, but the inspectors are requested to come to Iran," he said.
Iran has consistently denied seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. However,
