Saudi Arabia launched more than 90 attacks in Yemen in 24 hours, Houthis claim - report
[Jpost] Reuters also reported Friday that Saudi Arabia is preparing an offensive against the Houthis to break the chokehold and secure the shipping routes in the Red Sea.

Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. military front man Yahya Sarie claimed, according to a Friday Ynet report.

The attacks were allegedly carried out using fighter jets and missiles and targeted civilian sites in the provinces of Sana'a, Saada, Taiz, Hajjah, Amran, and Al Bayda.

Sarie alleged the strikes caused civilian deaths and injuries, according to the report.

He also claimed that the total number of Saudi strikes on Yemen since the beginning of the escalation has reached 1,350.

The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis said ‌on Friday that it had intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis towards the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, Rooters reported on Friday.

TENSIONS BETWEEN SAUDI ARABIA, HOUTHIS REMAIN HIGH
The Houthis threatened to target bridges in Saudi Arabia in retaliation for airstrikes the group claims were carried out by the Saudi military, a Sana'a military source told Lebanese outlet Al Akhbar on Monday.

According to the source, Saudi Arabian airstrikes have targeted Yemeni bridges and other civilian infrastructure while claiming they were missile launch platforms.

"Civilian bridges are not used for military purposes," the source said, calling the Saudi practice "utter bankruptcy."

SAUDI ARABIA PREPARES OFFENSIVE AGAINST HOUTHIS
Rooters also reported Friday that Saudi Arabia is preparing an offensive against the Houthis aimed at breaking the group's grip on the coast and securing Red Sea shipping routes.

According to six people familiar with the preparations, the operation is expected to begin in the coming weeks. It would be led on the ground by Yemeni forces overseen by Riyadh and supported by Saudi airstrikes.

The objective of the offensive is to reverse gains made by the Houthis last month, when they seized control of parts of the coast, particularly around the Bab al Mandab Strait, according to the report.

Saudi officials are considering two possible options for the assault, according to Gulf and Yemeni officials. One would involve a narrowly focused attack around Bab al Mandab, while the other would involve a broader offensive with synchronized attacks on multiple fronts across Yemen, including in Al Bayda, Marib, Taiz, and Al Jawf.

More than 100,000 Yemeni troops could be mobilized in the offensive, depending on the scale, the officials all said.

Spokespeople for the Saudi and Yemeni governments, the Houthi group and the US military didn't immediately respond to requests for comment about the Saudi plans.

Yemeni armed forces carried out 474 airstrikes against terrorist Houthi militia targets, incl. pressure on Taiz as Houthis hit Saudi coalition HQ in Adan

Translated Text:

Over the past 24 hours, our armed forces have carried out 474 airstrikes and precision targeting operations against sites, movements, reinforcements, and military capabilities belonging to the terrorist Houthi militia, using warplanes, drones, artillery, missiles, and rocket launchers.

The operations covered various combat fronts, from south of Haradh and the coast and Kattaf, through the fronts of Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda, Lahij, Sana'a, and Saada, with intensive operational focus on the Taiz fronts, where threat sources, gatherings, reinforcements, command and control centers, and hostile military capabilities were targeted, in accordance with approved operational tasks and plans.

The operations resulted in neutralizing 1,540 militia elements between killed and wounded, most of them on the Taiz fronts, and the destruction and disabling of 216 military vehicles and capabilities.

These operations led to breaking the militia on the Taiz fronts and thwarting their attempts to achieve any field breakthrough.

Our armed forces continue their operations with efficiency and capability, based on high combat resolve, field steadfastness, and firm faith in their right to restore the state and protect Yemen's security and sovereignty.

Yemeni forces are putting significant pressure on the Houthis in Taiz

I drew for you a map of Yemen before and after:

Bright and light green / Yemeni forces: 84%
Bright and light red / Houthis: 14%
Bright purple / Coast: 2%

( Yellow indicates the sites of recent Yemeni forces operations and their advances, with approximate markers for the weak pockets from which the Houthis withdrew )

I drew the coast separately from the rest of the map since it remains unresolved so far and has not officially joined the Houthis' positions; the Houthis' positions are still scattered and unstable

The Yemeni forces are putting significant pressure on the Houthis in Taiz, which prevents the consolidation of the coast and keeps it an exposed area for the Yemeni forces

Houthis strike Saudi-led coalition HQ in Adan

🚨 HOUTHIS STRIKE SAUDI-LED COALITION HQ IN ADEN

Houthi forces launched multiple ballistic missiles and drones at the Saudi-led coalition headquarters in Al-Buraiqa, western Aden, early Friday.

At least 5 explosions were reported, with fires visible around the compound.

The attack comes amid the sharpest escalation in Yemen since the 2022 truce, with intense fighting around Taiz. Yemen’s government says its aircraft carried out 20 strikes on Houthi forces Friday, while Saudi Arabia reported intercepting additional Houthi missiles and drones targeting southern Saudi cities.

Britain
‘Terrorism Connection' Briton Who Exploded London Climate Tax Camera Sentenced to 15 Years
[Breitbart] Judge Anthony Bate at the Old Bailey jailed 64-year-old retired electrical engineer Kevin Rees for 15 years on Friday after he was found guilty of “causing an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property”, and three counts of “possessing a prohibited weapon”, namely a collection of homemade taser-like stun guns.

Rees denied all charges, but the court heard that he had run Facebook groups that agitated against the rollout of the network of smart surveillance cameras enabling the Ultra-Low Emission Zone initiative of London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Under the now well established system, owners of cars with older engines — which the Mayor decries as being more polluting — have to pay a steep daily fee to drive in and around London.

Critics decried the network as climate spy cameras and said the rule heavily penalised working class tradesmen who rely on diesel trucks for business, and who couldn’t switch to carrying materials and tools on public transport.

A group of anti-camera activists, who identified themselves as ‘blade runners’ went about sabotaging the cameras, often on the same day they were installed by contractors, cutting cables or even felling the posts. Hundreds of cameras were vandalised.

Yet in the case of Rees, the court heard he went further, using an improvised explosive device (IED) to destroy a camera in Sidcup, Kent on December 6th 2023, states court reporting service Court News UK.

The explosion was of such force it damaged passing vehicles and nearby homes. The prosecution told the court that “one piece of the camera was propelled over 100 metres into the upper part of a house, it was pure chance that no-one suffered serious injury, or worse”.

The device was said to be a metal cylinder filled with an explosive powder and fitted with a simple fuse. London’s Metropolitan Police asserted that there was a “terrorism connection” in the case, reported the BBC.

They noted the retired electrical engineer was a “committed campaigner against the ULEZ scheme”. No explosives were found at his home, but after Rees was arrested by counter-terrorism police in 2023 raids on properties associated with him were said to have discovered a price list from an industrial chemical company, 100 grams (3½oz) of aluminium powder, and 330 grams (11½oz) of iron oxide, which police said “can be used to form low explosive compositions”.

As previously reported, the campaign against the ULEZ cameras became so pronounced the London city government had to deploy mobile surveillance vans and even, allegedly, bands of masked enforcers to protect the infrastructure from civil disobedience campaigns.

UK cops charge Iranian men for plotting Yom Kippur terror attack in Manchester
We had the arrest of two anonymous men ten days ago, now their names and nationality are revealed.
[IsraelTimes] Two Iranian men have been charged with plotting a terror attack targeting the Jewish community in Manchester on the eve of Yom Kippur, UK police revealed Friday.

The arrests came nearly a year after two people were killed in a terror shooting and stabbing attack on the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in northern Manchester where worshippers had gathered for Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

"Salam Ahmadyan 36 of Liverpool and Rahman Salehi 34 of Salford, both Iranian nationals, were arrested in Manchester on Sunday, 20 September," Friday’s police statement said.

Counterterrorism police said Salehi and Ahmadyan had allegedly tried to acquire components and equipment to make an improvised bomb and conducted reconnaissance on potential targets for attack.

Police also said the two men had allegedly been in contact with an overseas third party who might be in Iran.

"We do not believe there to be any ongoing threat to the public in relation to this matter," Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans said in the statement.

The pair, who UK Home Minister Shabana Mahmood said arrived in Britannia on a small boat from Europa

several years ago, will appear at London’s Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday. One of the men had been granted asylum, and the other had a live asylum claim, the interior ministry said.

"It is no secret that this country faces a range of serious threats from the Iranian regime,"Mahmood said. "They target our Jewish communities and try to silence their critics overseas, often through proxies and criminal networks to hide their involvement."

"These recent events are a stark reminder of the threats posed against this country from both holy warriors and foreign state actors," she added.

Detectives said there was no connection between Friday’s charges and the suspected plot involving the RAF Fairford air base, over which a dual UK-Iranian national was arrested on Thursday.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said there were "strong indications" Iran

Italian prisoner accused of Hamas financing appears in video sermon praising Gaza fighters
[Jpost] Palestiniana activist Riyad Albustanji gave a sermon from his high-security cell in Sardinia's Bancali prison in Sassari with terminology that Italy's Il Giornale says resembled terror groups'.

Riyad Albustanji, a Paleostinian activist held in a high-security Italian prison on allegations of financing Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
, praised fighters in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, invoked martyrdom and called for divine punishment against Israel and its allies during a video call that later appeared on social media, Il Giornale reported Thursday.

Albustanji, known among supporters as "the sheikh," is detained in the high-security section of Bancali prison in Sassari, Sardinia. Italian prosecutors allege he belonged to a network that transferred money to Hamas through organizations formally operating as humanitarian charities.

Il Giornale reported that Albustanji spoke with relatives in Arabic during the video call and delivered a religious sermon addressing the war in Gaza and the Paleostinian struggle against Israel. People managing his social media accounts subsequently posted footage of the conversation, according to the newspaper, which said its publication may violate prison regulations.
MAY??
Albustanji appealed to God to grant victory to "Your fighters in Gaza, in Paleostine" and to "guide their shots," according to Il Giornale’s transcription. He also prayed for their maimed, deaders, and prisoners and invoked martyrdom for himself and others "for Your cause."

Another passage called upon God to employ believers "for the liberation of Paleostine and the al-Aqsa Mosque." Albustanji also sought divine punishment against "the criminal Zionists and all their allies" and called for fear and anguish among his enemies and the destruction of their possessions.

Il Giornale said parts of the sermon resembled terminology associated with Hamas and other Paleostinian terrorist groups, including references to armed "resistance," fighters, deaders and prisoners.

ALBUSTANJI WAS ARRESTED IN 2025 OVER ALLEGED FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR HAMAS
Albustanji was arrested with Mohammad Hannoun and other suspects in December 2025 in a Genoa prosecutors’ investigation into alleged financial support for Hamas.

ANSA reported September 18 that prosecutors had concluded their preliminary investigation into Albustanji, Hannoun and four other suspects. Albustanji, Hannoun, Yaser Elasaly and Raed Dawoud remained in high-security detention at that time.

Prosecutors allege that charitable organizations collecting donations ostensibly for Paleostinian civilians transferred funds benefiting Hamas. The defendants are presumed innocent unless convicted.

600 people were detained during pogroms against 'schoolchildren' in France
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Police in France have detained 600 people amid school protests and pogroms. This was reported on October 2 by the newspaper Figaro, citing police sources.

“This Friday, 600 people were detained,” the publication writes.

According to the newspaper, demonstrations are taking place at 564 educational institutions, and their work has been disrupted.

On September 28, high school students set fire to a school during protests outside the school in Lille, France. The protests erupted over a shortage of teachers, strict school rules, including bans on cell phones and mandatory jeans, and concerns about the quality of food in the cafeterias.

On September 29, French Education Minister Edouard Geffrey announced that several students and at least 10 school staff members were injured during the protests. He emphasized that such violence cannot be justified.

Geffre highlighted several particularly violent incidents. In particular, in the Nord department in the north of the country, protesters beat up a teacher. In the Hauts-de-Seine department in the Paris suburbs, a high school principal was injured by a fireworks launcher. In Toulouse, according to the minister, several educational institution employees were attacked during the protests.

Rats have driven us crazy: French schoolchildren tired of devastation are destroying the country
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
by Olesya Orlenko

[Regnum] A new wave of protests is raging in France. This time, the driving force is high school and university students, dissatisfied with the lack of funding for educational institutions.

Opinions among government officials and various politicians are divided. Some acknowledge the legitimacy of the protesters' demands. Security officials, however, say the events are politically motivated.

The first demonstrations by high school students took place on September 21 in Créteil, and then in the capital's suburb of Saint-Denis, from where they quickly spread to other regions and continue to this day.

Numerous videos have been posted online showing burning trash cans in front of schools and scenes of violence during confrontations between protesters and law enforcement. The French Ministry of the Interior reports more than 2,000 arrests. Approximately 300 police officers were injured.

Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the incident should be seen as an example of "urban violence" rather than a fight for rights.

Students, in turn, show journalists photos and videos of collapsed ceilings and rats scurrying through the cafeterias. They also complain about the lack of heating, resulting in classroom temperatures dropping below 9 degrees Celsius.

Schoolchildren are also outraged by the shortage of teaching staff. Teachers are faced with a colossal workload. As a result, the school day for both teachers and their students stretches from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Another source of dissatisfaction is the system for assigning graduates to universities, introduced in 2018. The program was conceived as a platform through which applicants, after graduating from high school, could easily apply to their desired institution.

However, the algorithms used to select candidates remain unclear. For example, high-achieving students may be rejected, while less successful applicants are admitted to prestigious universities and colleges. Furthermore, several academic studies show that the system filters out applicants with names of African origin.

Schoolchildren's discontent is evidence of the systemic crisis France is experiencing. And this opinion is shared by other groups of citizens.

On September 29, education workers joined high school students in a protest. According to trade unions, approximately 300,000 workers participated.

Firefighters expressed solidarity. By most estimates, 50% of those involved in this sector protested the lack of funding, which was one of the reasons for the devastating fires that swept across France this summer.

The student demonstrations occurred during the discussion of the 2027 budget, which envisages further cuts to public education spending. For example, the new financial plan calls for fully fee-based tuition at preparatory institutions for admission to some of the country's universities.

The relevant department understands the dangers of this approach. Therefore, Education Minister Edouard Geffre announced on October 1 that he would petition to have this measure rescinded.

The ministry also condemned the harsh actions of law enforcement officers, which resulted in the injury of several education sector employees.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, however, claims that the unrest is being organized from outside by certain "forces pursuing political goals." Law enforcement officials report evidence that a quarter of the protesters are not students from the schools near which the protests are taking place.

A significant part of the government agrees with this opinion and condemns Jean-Luc Mélenchon's party, France Insoumise, for supporting the protests through far-left groups.

Núñez threatens criminal prosecution against members of parliament whose statements could incite an escalation of violence. Meanwhile, former Interior Minister, leader of the Republican party, and presidential candidate Bruno Retaillo believes banning Mélenchon's party would be appropriate.

This fact worries experts, who believe that such rhetoric indicates a desire by some politicians to get rid of competitors in the run-up to the presidential elections, which will take place in the spring of 2027.

Meanwhile, the protests continue unabated. On October 2, approximately 400 schools in France were closed. In Nantes, Lille, and Rouen, protesters' actions led to clashes, and school buildings were damaged.

The police are responding harshly, using guns and tear gas. Lawsuits are being filed against the actions of law enforcement. For example, one police officer broke the jaw of a 14-year-old boy, knocking out all of his upper and some of his lower teeth.

Some politicians and sociologists regret that the French security forces have lost the ability to work with society in other ways.

The government's desire to find someone to blame is understandable. After all, funding is needed to meet the protesters' demands.

France faces serious problems with this. By 2027, the national debt is expected to exceed 120%. The current budget calls for tax increases and spending freezes for most ministries. Meanwhile, planned spending on militarization and the war in Ukraine is increasing every year.

Under these conditions, one must either admit the incorrectness of one's political course, or pretend that everything is fine in the country, and that the problems are coming from a handful of provocateurs and ill-wishers from outside.

Apparently, the French authorities have chosen the second option. However, this method is impossible to repair school ceilings, turn on the heating, hire more teachers, and drive away the rats.

Fifth Column
Ultra-Orthodox anti-Israel protester living in US faces deportation to Israel
It’s not just Moslem Hamas supporters harassing Jews or narco gangsters, but anyone here who misbehaves.
[IsraelTimes] Satmar
…one of the biggest Hassidic sects, but unlike Chabad they turn their backs on the modern world…
member Yehonatan Ovadia had his legal status revoked over protest in which he took down Israeli flag at town hall, has been held by ICE since August.
Adding more from the article to clarify the story at 10:45 a.m. ET:
Yehonatan Ovadia, an Orthodox Jew from the anti-Zionist Satmar Hasidic sect, has joined a number of protests around New York and New Jersey against Israel.

Now, he’s at risk of being deported there.

Ovadia, 35, is originally from Israel and moved to the US on a temporary religious worker visa in 2022, according to the text of a lawsuit requesting Ovadia’s release. His legal status in the US was revoked earlier this year in connection with a November 2023 protest that he attended during which an Israeli flag was taken down from the town hall of Ramapo, New York. Ovadia said he was there but did not tear down the flag, and hate crimes charges against him were dropped.

But after a request to extend his stay in the United States was denied on the grounds of that protest, according to government documents shared with JTA, Ovadia was detained by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency in August and remains in ICE custody in New York.

“In violation of our nation’s laws, he overstayed his welcome and refused to depart,” a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. “He will receive due process and remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of his immigration proceedings.”

ICE’s nationwide surge affected the area’s Jewish community earlier this year when the agency detained Ari Ladino, a Jewish bridal shop owner in Teaneck, New Jersey, and his mother. Both are originally from Bogota, Colombia.

Ovadia’s arrest by ICE comes as US President Donald Trump’s administration has cracked down on pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel activism, including last year’s high-profile detention of Mahmoud Khalil, a prominent anti-Israel protest leader at Columbia University. The administration has accused Khalil and other pro-Palestinian activists and campus protesters of antisemitism.

Such an accusation would be particularly fraught against Ovadia, who is Jewish and holds anti-Israel views for religious reasons. Satmar Jews believe that a state of Israel cannot be established before the arrival of the Messiah.

In a lawsuit filed in August requesting Ovadia’s release, his lawyers argued that the Trump administration was penalizing him for protected speech motivated by religious beliefs. The government took “an official position,” Ovadia’s lawyers wrote, by preferring “one religious position within Judaism and [penalizing] an adherent of another.”

Unlike many Satmar Jews, who oppose Israel but are not active in political pro-Palestinian spaces, Ovadia has protested against Israel a number of times, including alongside members of the anti-Israel Hasidic group Neturei Karta.

#2  According to this explainer, the Satmar do not agree with the Israeli government, but they have an active charitable outreach program that they extend far beyond their own community to include the Jews in Israel. And they don’t turn their backs on the modern world so much as I thought — while the men study Torah and work within the community, at least some of the women have secular jobs outside it.

Some of them could be staying in Israel to manage the charities, I suppose.

Closing the Circle: Commander of Hamas's North Gaza Brigade, Who Was Eliminated, Oversaw the Holding of Israeli Hostages in Hamas Captivity

Following prolonged intelligence investigation, the IDF and Shin Bet now reveal that the commander of Hamas's military wing North Gaza Brigade, the terrorist Azz a-Din Bik, who was eliminated this week in the Gaza Strip, oversaw the holding of Israeli hostages during the war.

Before being appointed commander of the northern brigade during the "Iron Swords" war, Azz a-Din Bik held a series of roles, including commander of the Western Jabalia Battalion, and commander of the military intelligence headquarters in the northern brigade.

As part of his roles, he promoted and funded numerous attacks against Israeli civilians and was one of the founders of the Nukhba network in northern Gaza.

In addition, the terrorist commanded and took part in the raid into Israeli territory on the morning of October 7.

Throughout the war and by virtue of his role as responsible for the northern Gaza area, Azz a-Din Bik oversaw the holding of numerous hostages in Hamas captivity, including Mia Schem, the Sham family (Easam, Noam, and Ariel), Amit Buskila HY"D, Uriel Baruch HY"D, Sgt. Nick Beizer Z"L, Sgt. Ron Sherman Z"L, Elia Toledano Z"L, Shani Louk Z"L, Michel Nisenbaum Z"L, St.-Sgt. Tamir Nimrodi Z"L, Yitzhak Gelerenter Z"L, Eitan Levi Z"L, Hanan Yablonka Z"L, Ron Benjamin Z"L, and Orion Hernandez Z"L.

The elimination of the terrorist Azz a-Din Bik constitutes an important closing of the circle for the IDF and Shin Bet, which will continue to act forcefully against the terrorists who took part in the October 7 massacre.

The IDF will continue to act to protect the citizens of the State of Israel and to remove threats posed by the Hamas terror organization.
The Times of Israel adds:
Gaza’s Hamas-run civil defense agency said that Israeli strikes and gunfire had killed at least seven people in the Strip on Tuesday, including Bik. It said the Hamas commander was killed alongside another man in a strike west of Gaza City.

Separately, the IDF said Friday that Tamer Hamaida, who served as a sniper in Hamas’s military wing, was killed in a strike on Khan Younis.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that the strike targeted a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians at the Al-Iqlimi junction in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis.

According to WAFA, 42-year-old Hamaida was killed, and several other people were wounded and taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Israeli forces detain two during incursion into southern Syria: State media
[Rudaw] Israeli forces detained two people during an overnight incursion into a village in southern Syria’s Daraa province, state media reported on Friday, the latest in a series of Israeli military operations in the area.

Twelve Israeli military vehicles entered Maariya village in the Yarmouk Basin in western Daraa through a northern route locally known as the “Valley Road,” Syria’s state-run SANA news agency reported, citing local sources.

The Israeli forces moved through several residential neighborhoods, raided and searched homes and detained two residents, according to SANA.

One of the detainees was later released, while the whereabouts of the other remain unknown, the agency added.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on the reported operation.

Israeli forces have carried out repeated incursions into southern Syria since the fall of longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, including raids, arrests and military deployments in Daraa and neighboring Quneitra provinces.

Israeli forces have maintained positions in parts of southern Syria since Assad’s fall, while Damascus has called for their withdrawal to the lines held before December 8, 2024.

Syria and Israel have also engaged in US-mediated talks aimed at reducing tensions. Earlier this year, the two sides agreed to establish a US-supervised communication mechanism for military de-escalation and diplomatic engagement.

FlyDubai Day 4: Israel is searching for those behind the FlyDubai attack, Omani hijacker named
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Israel is conducting an investigation to determine who handled the pilot who assaulted a colleague on board a FlyDubai flight. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this on October 2.

"As time goes by, the picture becomes clearer: the attacker was radicalized and his goal was to crash the plane with all the passengers on board, " Netanyahu said in a video address to the nation released by his office.

He stressed that whoever supervised the actions of the attacking pilot will pay a high price.

The incident on board Flydubai passenger flight FZ1073 occurred on September 30. The plane, carrying 180 passengers and en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv, signaled an emergency and hijacked the aircraft. The flight then diverted and landed at an airport in Saudi Arabia.

A fight broke out on board between the pilots, both Omani and UAE nationals. One of the pilots attempted to provoke a plane crash, but his co-pilot intervened. During the altercation, one pilot was stabbed and lost consciousness. Israeli journalist Amit Segal reported that both pilots were hospitalized. The stabbed pilot was placed on a ventilator.

One of the passengers, dentist Shota Musayev, personally participated in the neutralization of the pilot who had attacked a colleague with a knife. The doctor reported that he restrained and bound the Omani using zip ties and headphone cables, after which he immediately went to the cockpit to provide emergency medical assistance to the injured pilot. It was later revealed that he was a native of the USSR and a Moscow lover.

According to the newspaper Israel Hayom, two pilots—one from Russia and one from Ukraine —helped land the plane. They were traveling as passengers. This information has not been officially confirmed.

Netanyahu later stated that Israel may join the investigation into the incident. WAM also noted that the UAE is considering an attempted terrorist attack as the cause of the Flydubai incident, but is not ruling out a psychological factor.

Footage has emerged of panic on a Flydubai plane where pilots clashed
Video captured the onset of panic among passengers on a Flydubai flight, where one pilot attacked another with a knife. The footage was published on October 2 by the Israeli television channel i24 on social media.

The video captures the screams of terrified people, while the plane's crew attempts to understand the situation and calm the passengers.

Later, a man with blood stains on his clothes appears in the frame.

Omani pilot 'cooperating' with authorities as flydubai investigation continues - report
[Jpost] The Omani pilot suspected of hijacking a flydubai aircraft between Dubai and Tel Aviv on Wednesday is "cooperating" with the investigation, sources briefed on the investigation told ABC News on Saturday.

Earlier reports identified the pilot as 29-year-old Omani national Hamam al-Hammami.

ABC reached out to representatives of flydubai, Oman Air, and the Omani Embassy for comment, but they did not immediately respond.

Reports identified the pilot as 29-year-old Omani national Hamam al-Hammami.
On Friday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the flydubai hijacker was previously banned from flying by Omani authorities over concerns regarding his radical ideological views.

The report cited several people familiar with the matter, who told the WSJ that the pilot was hired by UAE-based carrier flydubai despite the concerns, though it is unclear whether the airline knew about the issue.

It is further unclear exactly what sort of radicalism Omani authorities cited as their reason for grounding the pilot, who stabbed Capt. Smit Machchhar in a failed attempt
...Curses! Foiled again!...
to hijack flydubai flight FZ1073 on Wednesday.

The WSJ reached out to a UAE spokesperson, who declined to comment on the matter "to avoid prejudging the outcome of the investigation or interfering with its course."

The Omani government and flydubai did not respond to the WSJ's requests for comment.

A CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
report early on Saturday cited sources saying the pilot, an Omani citizen, was removed from flight training after a previous position at Oman Air and reassigned to a different role amid concerns over his radical views.

According to the report, the pilot was born in the UAE to Omani and Syrian parents and spent several years in the UAE, a detail CNN confirmed with an Israeli official.

NETANYAHU: 'SUICIDAL' FLYDUBAI HIJACKER UNDERWENT RADICAL ISLAMIST INDOCTRINATION
The reports follow comments by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the attempted hijacking, saying that the hijacker underwent radical Islamist indoctrination and was clearly suicidal, but that so far a motive for his actions had not been established.

In addition, sources told The Jerusalem Post on Friday that the Omani pilot holds "no other nationality," noting that pilots operating between the UAE and Israel are not required to be nationals of countries maintaining diplomatic relations with Jerusalem, according to the bilateral aviation agreement between the two countries.

The hijacker was detained by Saudi authorities following the incident aircraft's emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
, and was later transferred to the UAE.

Israeli officials are expected to question the hijacker in the UAE as part of an Emirati-led investigation seeking to examine the suspect's motives and background.
More from the Times of Israel:
ABC report, which cited senior intelligence and law enforcement officials, said he was found to be in possession of extremist material in 2024.

CNN said a since-deleted LinkedIn page with the name Hamam al-Hammami showed he worked at Oman Air for a seven-year period ending in February 2025, before starting at Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc in June 2025 and departing this January 2026. The network said the profile did not mention flydubai but said a source familiar with the matter confirmed it was his account, which also showed he studied at Buckinghamshire New University in England.

The report quoted a source at the university telling CNN that he studied remotely at the school for three years, graduating in 2023 with a degree in aviation management.

CNN said that al-Hammami’s X and Instagram accounts were also deleted, with the latter sharing two videos after the attack — one of which included footage of Israeli planes that were filmed from other cockpits, before ending with photos of former al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri and Jordanian triple agent Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi, who in 2009 carried out a deadly suicide bombing targeting a CIA base in Afghanistan on behalf of the jihadist group.

The other post reportedly included an AI image of Islam’s three holiest cities of Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem, while a defiant poem was recited in the background.

CNN, which said both posts were also shared on his LinkedIn before it was deleted

The UAE canceled all flights to Israel following the attack, complicating travel for hundreds of passengers who fly between the countries on a typical day. As a result, Israeli airlines launched repatriation flights, the first of which landed in Tel Aviv just after 1 a.m.

The airport listed carriers Arkia and Israir with flights scheduled to arrive from Dubai early Saturday. El Al was expected to fly passengers from Dubai to Israel on Sunday.

Dubai has been a popular destination for Israelis since Israel and the UAE established ties in 2020 as part of the Trump administration’s Abraham Accords to normalize ties between Israel and Arab countries.

#2  From what I've heard since then the 'weapon' was a crash axe in the cockpit already. I saw this on X.

I finally got a chance to sit down with the laptop, I need to go back to loading the fridge, anyway, I looked up Irkutsk, it's just north of the southern end of Lake Baikal with all the underwater humanoid sightings. Anyway, maybe it'll be controllable, but in 2020 they did the worst thing for future compliance: they said the problem was quarantine and then abused to death a lot of the elderly patients with medicines that didn't work. It's going to make us actually weaker in the face of a real crisis.
