At first, I thought that rantburg's connection problems was due to some minor changes I implemented in the firewall. But as time went on, after 24+ hours and after reimplementing the changes in the firewall, it became clear there was little wrong with the firewall, and that rantburg was being flooded.
In the interim I made some changes to the web server and the database server which helped connection problems a little, but those changes did not address the main problem. There still will be connection problems, so I ask y'all bear with me.
At the moment, I am exhausted and in need of some rest, so I will take some rest. Hopefully, ideas will arrive which may help resolve in the interim.

I've been forced to use a blunt instrument to attain the needed blocks. Think a 10 lb ball-peen hammer.
This work, the blocks and the server adjustments, I expect to continue through Saturday morning.
If there are any problems with loading the server, let me know in the comments. I suspect some may have been blocked, so I will need to know in order to adjust.

Houthi-affiliated media said Wednesday that Saudi airstrikes had killed 10 people and left 14 others wounded in Yemen’s Taiz and Al-Jawf governorates over the past 24 hours.

Yesterday, the Presidential Palace area in Sanaa witnessed a highly sensitive security incident amid intense Houthi secrecy.
According to journalist Fares Al-Humairi, an operations room affiliated with the Houthis, located beneath Nahdein Mountain, was subjected to a cyberattack, followed hours later by the targeting of a drone at a private vehicle carrying an important military leader as he attempted to leave the Presidential Palace area.
Notably, the operation took place under tightened security measures within the Presidential Palace, which included prohibiting employees from using mobile phones or even bringing them to their workplaces—a measure that reflects the extent of Houthi fears regarding breaches and surveillance.
This marks the second major security breach for the Houthis within days, following the composite operation that Sanaa witnessed at dawn last Friday.
The succession of these operations, their timing, and their targeting of sites linked to command and control raise a major question about the extent of the infiltration achieved by the legitimate government's intelligence agencies into the most fortified Houthi areas in Sanaa.

The state uses the term Fitna al Khawarij for the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... Pakistain (TTP) and refers to designated Balochistan-based groups as Fitna al Hindustan to highlight India’s role in terrorism and destabilisation across Pakistain.
"In order to safeguard the local populace and clear the area of terrorists, security forces have been conducting a clearance operation in the general area of Shaban since Sept 21. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged and cleared multiple terrorist hideouts," it said.
"Following an intense exchange of fire, 13 Indian-sponsored Lions of Islam have been killed so far. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the cleared hideouts. The clearance operation will continue until the complete neutralisation of the threat in the area," it said.
The ISPR statement went on to say that security forces also conducted "pre-emptive intelligence-based operations" in Kech and Quetta West, during separate engagements on Sept 22 and 23.
"During the operations, troops effectively engaged the Lions of Islam and, following an intense exchange of fire, six bad boyz were potted," it said, adding that weapons and ammunition were also recovered.
It said that 39-year-old Subedar Muhammad Jamil, a resident of Taunsa Sharif, embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire.
The statement said that the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of ’Azm-e-Istehkam’ would continue at full pace.
"Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country," it concluded.

"In a heavy exchange of fire, five Lions of Islam belonging to the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain were killed by police," Saddar Senior Superintendent of Police Shafqat Janjua said. He added that police had foiled the attack and seized weapons and ammunition.
According to Janjua, the attackers arrived in the area on cycle of violences before targeting the cop shoppe.
Separately, the Edhi Foundation said one of its ambulances was allegedly hijacked by gunnies in Balochistan on Wednesday.
In a statement, the foundation said the ambulance was returning to the Edhi Kalat Centre at around 7:15am after transporting the body of a woman from an area near Gidar, about 110 kilometres from Civil Hospital, Kalat.
The foundation said unidentified gunnies assaulted the Edhi worker and took control of the ambulance.

In retaliation, Pak troops targeted multiple check posts of the Afghan Taliban and their defensive positions, the sources said. They added that several Afghan Taliban operatives fled the posts as a result of the retaliation.
According to the sources, security forces were constantly monitoring the border situation and remained prepared to respond to any aggression.
Pakistain saw a resurgence in terrorism after the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021. A day ago, the information ministry said Pakistain had conducted air strikes on terrorist sites "in the border region with Afghanistan", killing more than 28 terrorists.

[Dawn] The armed forces on Wednesday shot down eight drones launched by the Afghan Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... after they entered Pak airspace near the Torkham border and Kohat, according to security sources.
The sources said the drones were intercepted by the air defence systems, which they described as "active and vigilant".
"The armed forces and the ’Shaheens’ of the Pakistain Air Force professionally thwarted the Afghan Taliban regime’s cowardly attempt to target public areas," security sources said.
According to the sources, four of the eight drones were shot down in areas adjacent to the Torkham border, while the remaining four were downed near Kohat.
Earlier, security sources said two "rudimentary" drones had been brought down using "soft skill" methods about seven kilometres from Kohat city. They said the armed forces’ air defence systems remained on round-the-clock alert and were maintaining vigilance against "all threats from Kharjistan".
"This incursion serves as yet another proof of the Afghan Taliban regime’s direct support and patronage of terrorists," security sources said.
Later, security sources said the wreckage of the destroyed drones was being recovered. Last night’s exchange of fire in Kurram sector and Wednesday’s drone incursion "demonstrated the state of the Afghan Taliban’s panic and disarray," security sources added.
The development comes two days after Pakistain, in response to recent terrorist attacks in KP, conducted "calibrated" Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s in the border region with Afghanistan against terrorist hideouts and safe havens of terrorist organizations.
A statement from the information ministry on Monday said that over 28 Lions of Islam were eliminated in the strikes. "It is a matter of grave concern that Afghanistan continues to remain a hub of terrorism," the ministry said at the time, specifying that the "threat to Pakistain emanates from Afghanistan".
Before the airstrikes, security forces conducted a "well-planned intelligence-based ground operation" on September 20 against a group of Lions of Islam in KP’s Kohat and Hangu district ... Hangu is famous for its greenery, hills, beauty and water. Most of the people of this area are Bangash & Orakzai Pashtuns. Part of the Bangash are Shia. The Orakzai and the Sunni Bangash are determined to kill them... s, the ministry said. Nine Lions of Islam were eliminated in the engagement.

[IsraelTimes] An Israel Defense Forces reservist soldier, the son of Israel’s Ambassador to the US Yehiel Leiter, was maimed in a car-ramming attack at a checkpoint in the central West Bank on Wednesday.
The assailant accelerated toward a police cruiser stationed at the "Bell" checkpoint — where Routes 4436 and 4437 from Beit Ur and Ramallah hit the major Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway Route 443 — running over Neria Leiter, who was operating alongside a cop, the military and police said.
The IDF said troops operating at the scene rubbed out the assailant who carried out the ramming. He was identified by Israeli security officials as Mahmoud Mohammad Sliman, 29, from the nearby village of Beit Ur al-Tahta.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said its medics treated the soldier, who was unconscious after he was hit.
Leiter was brought to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, where he underwent emergency brain surgery though his life was "still in danger," according to a statement from Dr. Alon Schwartz, the head of the hospital’s trauma unit.
Schwartz indicated that the surgery lasted for hours and said Leiter’s condition stabilized, though he was still seriously injured, adding that multiple medical teams were working on improving his condition. The doctor also said Leiter’s head injury was the most severe and dangerous wound he received.

The ramming came days after father of six Netanel Shukrun was shot and killed in a terror attack at a natural spring near the West Bank settlement of Neve Tzuf, also known as Halamish.

Sixty-seven civilians and Israeli security personnel have been killed in terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank. Another eight members of the Israeli security forces were killed in festivities during raids in Paleostinian cities in the West Bank.
During the same period, more than 1,100 Paleostinians have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli forces or settlers, according to the PA health ministry. The IDF says the vast majority of them were button men killed in exchanges of fire, rioters who clashed with troops or bandidosbully boyz carrying out attacks.
The same period has also seen a major surge in attacks by settler murderous Moslems on Paleostinians and their property across the West Bank. The IDF recorded 867 incidents of nationalistic crime and settler violence in 2025. The total for 2024 was 682 incidents.
In a rare step, the headquarters of the military’s 98th Division will take responsibility for some sections of the West Bank amid the heightened tensions, the military said Wednesday.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered the 98th Division’s headquarters to command the Judea and Etzion regional brigades, tasked with the southern portion of the West Bank, following a fresh assessment, the military said.
The two regional brigades are normally under the responsibility of the Judea and Samaria Division. The move means that the headquarters of the 98th Division will take responsibility for the two brigades to alleviate pressure from the Judea and Samaria Division. The 98th Division is not deploying its organic units in the West Bank as part of the move.
"Activating the division headquarters in the area is part of strengthening command and control, in order to enhance defensive and offensive capabilities" in the West Bank, the army said, adding that it comes against the backdrop of recent terror attacks and an effort to "enhance security during this tense period."
TWO PALESTINIANS CHARGED FOR ALLEGEDLY PLANNING TO KILL BEN GVIR
Separately, military prosecutors indicted two Paleostinians from the Nablus area in the northern West Bank for allegedly planning to carry out "a series of terror attacks" against Israeli civilians and troops, including abducting soldiers and assassinating National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, police and the Shin Bet said in a joint statement on Wednesday.
The suspects allegedly began "advancing ’military’ activity" in late 2023, including recruiting other operatives, holding shooting training, discussing attack plans and stocking up on assault rifles and ammunition, the statement said.
The suspects made up their minds to kill Ben Gvir in 2024, the statement added.
After they saw a video of Ben Gvir arriving at the scene of a terror attack, one of the suspects allegedly suggested that the pair carry out their own attack to lure Ben Gvir to the scene and kill him.
The same suspect later "suggested using an explosive drone for the liquidation, and even tried buying drone parts from China" to that end, the statement said.
In tandem, the suspects also allegedly planned to carry out car-bomb and drone attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers, and also plotted mass shootings and the abduction of a soldier.
The statement did not identify the suspects or specify when they were arrested. It said their detention has been extended periodically until the indictment and that they remain in jug until the end of the legal proceedings.
Ben Gvir said in his own statement that the liquidation plot in the indictment is the 11th against him.
Additionally, in a rare occurrence, Israeli commandos apprehended a senior member of the Paleostinian Authority’s security services during a raid in the West Bank overnight, police confirmed on Wednesday.
Paleostinian media reported earlier that Israeli forces arrested Majdi Amer, a colonel in the Paleostinian Authority’s Preventive Security Service, in the village of Kafr Qallil, south of Nablus.
In a statement, police said that undercover Border Police officers raided Kafr Qallil overnight and apprehended a "wanted operative."
The wanted man is suspected of advancing terror activities, police said.
"The undercover forces entered the village in disguise and reached the compound where the wanted man was residing," police said.
The officers surrounded the building and carried out a tactic known as "pressure cooker," which involves escalating the volume of fire against a building to flush suspects out.
The wanted man eventually exited the building and "surrendered himself to the troops," according to the police.
RIGHTS GROUP: 24 RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS RAZED IN PALESTINIAN HAMLET
Israeli security forces on Wednesday carried out demolitions in the West Bank Paleostinian hamlet of Jinba in the Masafer Yatta region in the south of the territory, the B’Tselem human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... group said.
The group said that 24 residential buildings were destroyed in Jinba by the Civil Administration, an agency of the Defense Ministry in charge of enforcement against illegal structures in the West Bank, leaving some 180 people, including about 85 children, homeless.
The administration also destroyed 15 agricultural buildings, 16 solar panels, 14 water tanks, and arrested one of the hamlet’s residents, the group said.
The Civil Administration acknowledged the demolitions in Jinba, saying that "enforcement was carried out against illegal building components," in the region.
It also stated that "enforcement action" had been carried out against illegal water drilling in Area A of the West Bank, in the Jordan Valley region.
It was not immediately clear what action the Civil Administration had taken against such illegal water drilling, and a spokesperson for the agency did not respond to a request for comment.
The demolitions in Jinba are the third such operation in the last three weeks.
On September 2, the Civil Administration demolished the entire hamlet of Khirbet a-Taban, also in Masafer Yatta, including all 12 homes and almost all other buildings. The dwelling had been home to 12 families, numbering some 70 people.
And on September 8, the Civil Administration demolished five homes belonging to four families numbering 32 people in Khirbet al-Fakhit, less than two kilometers from Khirbet a-Taban, as well as sheep pens, external toilets, water tanks, solar panels, water cisterns and chicken coops.
The homes are in an area that the IDF declared a firing zone in the 1980s, setting off a decades-long legal battle over the fate of several hamlets that fell within the wide borders of the zone.
In May 2022, the High Court of Justice upheld the right of the military to establish the firing zone, and determined that the residents had not successfully proved they had lived in the villages as permanent residents before the army declared the area a training zone. This gave the army the green light to demolish the villages, although demolitions have taken place only sporadically since then.
The land’s Paleostinian inhabitants claim that they had been living in the area long before the IDF designation of the area as training grounds. Over the years, the Paleostinians have erected a number of permanent buildings on the site and have established eight small villages — Majaz, Tabban, Sfai, Fakheit, Halaweh, Mirkez, Jinba, and Kharuba.

According to a New York Times report in late July, Paleostinian advocates claim the demolitions are part of a government drive to tighten Israel’s grip on Area C, which is home to 350,000 Israelis and about 50,000 Paleostinians and comprises 61% of the West Bank.
The Civil Administration stated on Wednesday that "enforcement action" had also been carried out against illegal water drilling in Area A of the West Bank, in the Jordan Valley region.
It was not immediately clear what action the Civil Administration had taken against such illegal water drilling, and a spokesperson for the agency did not respond to a request for comment.
Until this year, the Civil Administration has only carried out enforcement action in Area C, since the Paleostinian Authority is supposed to have full civilian control in Areas A and B of the West Bank.
But in February this year, the security cabinet decided to expand oversight and enforcement activities into areas A and B with regard to water violations, damage to archaeological sites, and environmental hazards.
The Paleostinian Authority condemned the steps at the time as further efforts by Israel to annex the West Bank.

The ensuing war between Israel and Hamas has killed over 73,400 people in Gaza, including more than 1,400 since the October 2025 ceasefire, according to the Hamas-run health ministry in the enclave, although the toll does not differentiate between combatants and civilians.
The Israeli military believes that Hamas’s overall toll is largely accurate, with IDF officials estimating that two to three non-combatants were killed for every dead terror operative.
