#6 Technically, the ruling is correct. The Federal government is responsible for defense of its borders.

The problem is what happens when the Federal government ignores or encourages the invasion of its borders despite the state's wishes? There isn't a clear or defined legal path for it.

That is why Texas and the republicans are telling the feds to go pound sand.
