The third man Kyle shot, Gaige Grosskreutz, 26, has convictions for felony burglary and waving a gun around while intoxicated, so it was illegal for him to own a gun. He was on staff that night as a “medic” for the People’s Revolution Movement, a faction of Milwaukee’s Black Lives Matter. He was shot in the arm while aiming his handgun at Kyle, who was on the ground. Gaige later posted on Facebook that he regretted not killing the kid...
"Kyle Rittenhouse’s bond was posted this afternoon at about 2:00 pm which was set up through his attorney," said Kenosha County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Wright. "He is no longer in jug at the Kenosha County Jail."

Rittenhouse told news hounds he was in Kenosha to protect people’s property, and in late September his attorney, Pierce, told Breitbart News Sunday, "Wisconsin is an open carry state. You’ve seen the video of what was going on in that city. It was a war zone, and Kyle had every right — just as much a right — to be there as the people that were trying to burn down that city, and he was attempting to protect property and attempting to be there to provide medical aid."

Pierce added, "Every person that has any sense at all is going to take a weapon to that location. It was a legal weapon. I can’t comment right now further on the specifics of where the weapon was obtained. It was obtained as a legal weapon. It did not cross state lines. That charge is incorrect as a matter of law in Wisconsin. Actually, that weapon can be possessed by anyone 16 years or older."

Earlier this month Dominick Black, 19, was arrested and charged with allegedly purchasing the AR-15 that Rittenhouse used.

Black is accused of receiving money from Rittenhouse, "then on May 1st he drove 300 miles north from Kenosha to a hardware store in upper Wisconsin to buy the [AR-15]," according to an affidavit.

In October, Illinois did not press charges against Rittenhouse for possession of the AR-15 because the rifle was allegedly "purchased, stored, and used" out of Prairie State.

Wright insists he was living in a fantasy world and never really supported the Islamic State group. The 28-year-old's attorneys had asked for a 16-year sentence.

Prosecutors and Geller wanted Wright to get life in prison.
It should be noted that Islamic State recruiter Junaid Hussain communicated instructions about the plot to kill Geller directly to Rahim from overseas in May 2015. Hussain was killed in a US drone strike in Syria in August 2015.

Law enforcement had been monitoring communications between the three and overheard the threat, prosecutors said. When police approached Rahim in a Boston supermarket parking lot to question him, he drew a large knife and officers shot him dead.

Wright also wanted to carry out other attacks in the U.S. and encouraged his uncle to kill coppers according to officials.

Wright, of Everett, is charged with obstruction of justice, conspiring to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and conspiring to commit acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries. The latter charge carries a penalty of life in prison.

Wright encouraged his uncle to attack police and die a 'martyr,' instructing him to destroy his cellphone and wipe all the data from his computer said Siegmann.

Authorities say Rahim received instructions about the plot to kill Geller from Junaid Hussain, an Islamic State member and hacker who was later killed in an Arclight airstrike in Syria. Prosecutors say that Rahim then passed along Hussain's instructions to Wright.

Wright told another person online that he was one of dozens of Islamic State fighters in the U.S. who were ready to act according to Siegmann. The person Wright was chatting with was secretly working for the FBI and is expected to testify later in the trial.

The third man, Nicholas Rovinski of Warwick, Rhode Island pleaded guilty in September to conspiracy charges and faces a sentence of between 15 and 22 years.

 group pleaded guilty on Thursday to conspiracy charges, including a plot to behead conservative blogger Pamela Geller.

Nicholas Rovinski, of Warwick, Rhode Island, admitted he conspired with two Massachusetts men to kill Geller and attempted to recruit others to carry out additional violent attacks in the United States. The plots were never carried out.

A plea agreement between Rovinski, 25, and federal prosecutors calls for a sentence of between 15 years and 22 years. Judge William Young set sentencing for March.

Rovinski, who has cerebral palsy and walks with a limp, answered softly when asked by the judge why he decided to plead guilty instead of going to trial.

"I feel that in the interest of myself and the people of the United States I should pay for the crimes that I have committed," he said.

Prosecutors said Rovinski plotted with David Wright, of Everett, and Wright’s uncle Usaamah Rahim, of Boston, to kill Geller, who angered Moslems when she organized a Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest in Garland, Texas, in May 2015. The contest ended in gunfire, with two Moslem gunnies shot to death by police.

Assistant US Attorney Stephanie Siegmann said Rovinski told authorities after his arrest that he, Wright and Rahim had agreed to kill Geller, who’s from New York. Siegmann said Rahim later told Wright he wanted to go after "those boys in blue," a reference to police.

Rahim, who had been under surveillance, was shot and killed by authorities on June 2, 2015, after he lunged at them with a knife when they approached him in Boston, prosecutors said. Wright has pleaded not guilty

Siegmann said that after Rovinski’s arrest in June 2015 he sent two letters to Wright in which he pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group, talked about beheading people and told Wright he had recruited a fellow inmate to help "take down" the East Coast and the US government.

"Can’t wait for them juicy necks," Rovinski wrote, a reference to beheadings, Siegmann said.

Geller called Rovinski a "murderous thug" and said he was right to plead guilty.

"He still deserves the maximum sentence -- until he proves he is not a danger to human beings who don’t accept his beliefs," she said.

Rovinski’s lawyer, William Fick, said Rovinski was a "vulnerable young man" who was "seduced by bully boy ideology."

"He has unequivocally renounced violence and renounced terrorism," Fick said after the court hearing.

 were receiving instructions from one of the group's cyber experts, according to a new indictment released on Thursday.

A grand jury in federal court in Massachusetts added conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries to the charges against David Wright, 26, of Massachusetts, and Nicholas Rovinski, 25, of Rhode Island.

According to the new indictment, Rovinski has continued to support Islamic State while in jail by trying to recruit others to "decapitate non-believers" and take down the US government and by writing a new pledge of support to the group's leader, His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

FBI: Men who plotted with Boston terror suspect readily admitted ISIS support

David Wright of Everett and Nicholas Rovinski of Rhode Island could face up to 15 years.

Confronted by FBI agents hours after Usaamah Rahim was killed by police, David Wright admitted that he was the one who got Rahim interested in the terrorism perpetuated by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, according to a complaint filed in federal court this week.

Wright and a second man, Nicholas Rovinski, face charges in federal court accusing them of conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State group, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

The same day Rahim was shot, Rovinski, of Warwick, Rhode Island, was interviewed by agents. He said he converted to Islam two years ago, and he changed his name to "Nuh Amriki." The Islamic State group appealed to him "because they represent the most pure and honest form of the religion," according to investigators.

He said he supported violent resistance against "crusader governments," and he was in favor of the Islamic State group's well-publicized beheadings, according to the complaint.

A knife-wielding man killed by the terror investigators who had him under surveillance was confronted because he had bought knives and talked of an imminent attack on "boys in blue," the FBI said Wednesday.

Usaama Rahim, 26, plotted for at least a week to attack police, the FBI said in a complaint against a family member who was arrested Tuesday, the day Rahim was shot to death. On Wednesday, David Wright, who authorities say is Rahim's nephew, was ordered held on a charge of conspiracy with intent to obstruct a federal investigation.

The FBI said Rahim, who had previously discussed beheadings, bought three fighting knives and a sharpener on or before May 26 and he told 24-year-old Wright on Tuesday he would begin trying to randomly kill police officers.

An affidavit written by an FBI agent assigned to Boston's Joint Terrorism Task Force refers to a recorded conversation between Rahim and Wright in which Wright made a comparison to "thinking with your head on your chest." The FBI said that was a reference to Islamic State propaganda videos showing severed heads on the chests of beheading victims.

The FBI affidavit said Rahim initially told Wright about a plan to behead someone outside Massachusetts. On Sunday, Rahim, Wright and an unidentified man met on a beach in Rhode Island to "discuss their plans," the FBI affidavit said.

"Wright indicated that he agreed with Rahim's plan and supported it," the affidavit states.

Authorities searched a home in Warwick, Rhode Island, on Tuesday and Wednesday but wouldn't confirm the search was related to the investigation.

Early Tuesday morning, Rahim called Wright and told him he had changed his plans and no longer planned to kill someone in another state, the affidavit says. Instead, he said he was going to "go after" the "boys in blue," it says, an apparent reference to police officers.

During the recorded conversation, Rahim told Wright, "Yeah, I'm going to be on vacation right here in Massachusetts. ... I'm just going to, ah, go after them, those boys in blue. Cause, ah, it's the easiest target and, ah, the most common is the easiest for me," the affidavit says.

The FBI said the phrase "going on vacation" refers to committing violent jihad.

Authorities allege that during that conversation, Wright advised Rahim to destroy his smartphone, wipe his laptop computer and prepare his will.

On Wednesday, authorities moved swiftly to manage perceptions of the shooting, which killed a black man whose family is well known among Muslims and African-Americans in Boston.

Rahim's mother is a nurse at Boston University. His older brother, Ibrahim Rahim, is a scholar known for preaching after the Boston marathon bombings that violence is anti-Islamic.

Ibrahim Rahim initially posted a message on Facebook alleging police repeatedly shot his brother in the back while he was on a cellphone calling their father for help. But his version unraveled Wednesday after police showed their video of the confrontation to community leaders.

Darnell Williams, president of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts, said he could "150 percent corroborate" the police account. The images clearly show that Usaama Rahim "was not on a cellphone and was not shot in the back," Williams said.

The video, which police did not make available publicly, shows that Rahim menaced the officers with a large military-style knife and they initially backed away before shooting him when he refused to drop it, police said.

The dead suspect, 26-year-old Usaama Rahim, was under surveillance by the Joint Terrorism Task Force when he was shot at about 7 a.m. near a CVS in the city's Roslindale neighborhood, when he brandished the blade at police. Later Tuesday, authorities arrested another suspect, David Wright, in connection with the case, police said.
Clearly a "suicide by cop"...
"We believe the intent was to behead a police officer," one official told The Boston Globe. "We knew the plot had to be stopped. They were planning to take action Tuesday."

Rahim was shot outside a CVS Pharmacy in Roslindale, Mass. at approximately 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans told reporters that members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force approached Rahim to question him about "terrorist-related information" they had received when he moved toward officers with the knife.

Evans said officers repeatedly ordered Rahim to drop the knife but he continued to advance. He said task force members fired their guns, hitting Rahim once in the torso and once in the abdomen. Rahim was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Later, the FBI and local police arrested a man at a home in Everett, Mass., in an action authorities said was related to the Roslindale shooting. Christina Diorio-Sterling, a spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz, said Wright was taken into custody from his home in suburban Everett. She said Wright will face federal charges and is expected to appear in U.S. District Court on Wednesday.

WFXT reported that three different Joint Terrorism Task Force teams had been carrying out 24-hour surveillance on at least three different people in the Boston area, though it was unclear how long that had been going on.The plot may have been inspired by the terror group ISIS, who have repeatedly called on followers in the United States to attack law enforcement officials or military installations.

Evans did not comment on the report that Rahim had been radicalized by ISIS, but said "Obviously, there was enough information there where we thought it was appropriate to question him about his doings ... He was someone we were watching for quite a time."
He didn't need to be radicalized by ISIS. There's plenty of other sources to radicalize him...
Evans said the officers didn't have their guns drawn when they approached Rahim. He said police have video showing Rahim "coming at officers" while they are backing away. That account differs from one given by Rahim's brother Ibrahim Rahim, who said in a Facebook posting that his youngest brother was killed while waiting at a bus stop to go to his job.

"He was confronted by three Boston Police officers and subsequently shot in the back three times," he wrote. "He was on his cellphone with my dear father during the confrontation needing a witness."

There is surveillance video from the scene which will be released after Rahim's family and civil rights advocates view the footage.
Why would "civil rights advocates" get to see the footage before I do?
WFXT reported that Rahim worked in loss prevention at several CVS stores in the Boston area. However, it was not clear that the store where he was killed was among them. Boston voter registration records seen by the Associated Press list Rahim as a student. Other records indicate that as recently as two years ago he was licensed as a security officer in Miami, but don't specify in what capacity.

The Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center said its security firm hired Rahim as a security guard for a month in mid-2013. Executive director Yusufi Vali said Rahim didn't regularly pray at the center and didn't volunteer there or serve in any leadership positions.

The FBI and Rhode Island State Police also searched a property in Warwick, R.I. in relation to the Roslindale shooting. Police sealed off a street, requiring anyone who lived there to show identification to pass the police cordon, but it was not clear if they had anyone in custody.

A 17-year-old told the Boston Globe that police had asked him about a neighbor in his mid-20s named Nick. The teen told the paper Nick often wears long robes and prays in his front yard.

[Daily Caller] A Health and Human Services official has resigned after dealing with the frustration of the “profoundly dysfunctional” federal bureaucracy, which left him “offended as an American taxpayer.”

In a resignation letter obtained by ScienceInsider, David Wright, director of the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) — which oversees and monitors possible research misconduct — offers a scathing rebuke of the unwieldy and inefficient bureaucracy that he dealt with for the two years he served in the position.

In his letter to Assistant Secretary for Health Howard Koh, Wright explains that the 35 percent of his job that was spent working with science-investigators in his department “has been one of the great pleasures of my long career.” The majority of his duties, however, represented his worst job ever.

“The rest of my role as ORI Director has been the very worst job I have ever had and it occupies up to 65% of my time,” he wrote. ”That part of the job is spent navigating the remarkably dysfunctional HHS bureaucracy to secure resources and, yes, get permission for ORI to serve the research community. I knew coming into this job about the bureaucratic limitations of the federal government, but I had no idea how stifling it would be.”

According to Wright, activities that in his capacity as an academic administrator that took a day or two, took weeks and months in the federal government.

He recalled an instance in which he could not get approval for a $35 cost to have cassette tapes converted into CDs. He eventually was able to get them converted in 20 minutes for free by a university. And another instance in which he “urgently needed to fill a vacancy,” but was told there was secret priority list. Sixteen months later, he wrote, the position was still unfilled.

Cash shortage threatens Pakistan flood aid

ISLAMABAD: Western aid agencies in Pakistan warned on Wednesday they might have to halt flood relief efforts in the cash-strapped country because of funding shortfalls.

Floods in August hit Sindh province in the south, killing at least 430 people and disrupting the lives of nine million. Many people are still camping out in the open with little food, water or shelter.

Western aid agencies made an urgent appeal for $357 million in September, but only 23 percent of that has been secured. If more cash doesn’t arrive soon, aid agencies such as Oxfam, Save the Children and Care may be forced to leave flood victims to fend for themselves.

“The sort of things that we’re really concerned about are those very basic humanitarian essentials like access to clean water and sanitation which over 60 percent of the affected population at the moment still don’t have access to,” said Oxfam’s Country Director in Pakistan, Neva Khan.

“If we can’t ensure clean water to as many people as possible, the risk of all these things increasing and causing a public health crisis is a key concern.” Aid agencies have said Pakistan’s image of a haven for militants especially after US special forces found and killed Osama Bin Laden in a Pakistani town in May — have made it a “bad brand” to sell to global donors.

While a combination of factors — donor fatigue, the global financial slump, competition from other crises such as the East African famine — have all played a part, geopolitics and security remains one of Western donors’ major concerns.

The UN says the floods have wiped out massive swathes of agricultural land, killed thousands of livestock and destroyed food stocks in Sindh.

The government is in no position to step in because the South Asian nation’s economy is weak and heavily dependent on foreign aid.
Yet it manages to ensure that the hard boyz, snuffies, splodydopes and Haqqanis are taken care of...
It has yet to care for some 800,000 people displaced by last year’s floods.

Hardships are likely to increase as winter approaches. “Children’s immunity is very weak, and we fear winter will make the situation worse if aid is not immediately stepped up,” Save the Children’s Pakistan Country Director, David Wright, said in a press release.
