Sirhan Sirhan, Assassin of Robert F. Kennedy, Rejected in Latest Bid for Parole
[Times of San Diego] remember him?
Sirhan Sirhan,
...more fully Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, he was born to a Christian family in Jerusalem, is legally a Jordanian citizen following Jordan’s annexation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 1950. He murdered RFK because RFK supported of Israel (and possibly because of a race track head injury). His communism is extra. For a while Fatah’s Black September demanded his release every time they took hostages. Some in the family of Aristotle Onassis say Mr. Onassis got him to do it...
who assassinated Sen. Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, was denied Wednesday in his latest bid for parole during a hearing at the San Diego prison where he is incarcerated.

Sirhan, 78, will be eligible for another parole consideration hearing in three years, according to the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Wednesday’s hearing was held at the R.J. Donovan Correctional Facility in Otay Mesa.

In 2021, a two-person state parole panel recommended Sirhan be granted parole, but Gov. Gavin Newsom later reversed that decision, saying Sirhan "poses a current threat to public safety."

"After decades in prison, Mr. Sirhan has failed to address the deficiencies that led him to assassinate Senator Kennedy," Newsom said in a statement rejecting the parole grant. "Mr. Sirhan lacks the insight that would prevent him from making the same types of dangerous decisions he made in the past."

The governor wrote that "the most glaring evidence of Mr. Sirhan’s deficient insight is his shifting narrative about his assassination of Senator Kennedy, and his current refusal to accept responsibility for his crimes."

Arizona rancher who shot 'cartel drug smuggler' dead on his property made '30 to 40' calls to Border Patrol in January ALONE - as photos show nearby roads littered with clothes and trash left behind by migrants
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • George Kelly, 73, claims he was defending his Arizona ranch when he shot Mexican national Gabriel Cuen-Buitimea dead on January 30

  • Now, neighbors have told DailyMail.com the area is known for drug trafficking and that US Border Patrol was called to his property 30 to 40 times last month

  • Agents visited George Kelly's land so often they even had a key to the property so they could let themselves in

  • A fundraising effort that aimed to raise $25,000 has already realized nearly $350,000 to help Kelly and his wife Wanda, 74

#1  This is such a travesty, it defies belief. His property is invaded daily by illegal aliens, many cartel mules or trafficked illegals in "coyote"-led groupings. The have weapons and communications and use his property as a thoroughfare. He has been dealing with it in the only way any sane property owner can, and somehow, an illegal with historic crime and trafficking connections is killed. Now the local sheriff and magistrate, whose political and cartel ties are strongly rumored, plan to destroy him and his wife for doing what the US government fails to do. The cartels will buy witnesses and any jury will know full-well the consequences of any verdict but guilty. Even 30 years ago, "plata o plomo" was the reason most common folk bent the knee to the cartels!

UN probes smuggling of weapons and charcoal in Somalia
[Garowe] The United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
is now probing illegal firearms smuggling and charcoal in Somalia, activities which are believed to be financing al-Shabaab
...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
turbans in the Horn of Africa nation, which has been battling with insecurity for the last three decades.

A committee selected by the UN under Japanese Permanent Representative Ishikane Kimihiro has already adopted recommendations for 2022 on the illegal charcoal trade which is said to be benefiting al-Shabaab murderous Moslems, a group that is fighting to topple the fragile UN-backed federal government of Somalia.

On Monday, Kimihiro told the Security Council that the UN had relaxed the arms embargo slapped on Somalia through resolution 2662 of 2022 in order to support the security institutions of the country. The resolution recommended that Somalia reduces existing charcoal stockpiles.

The envoy said his committee has already held two meetings that focused on the illegal smuggling of weapons from Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
. The committee has now shifted focus to investigations on al-Shabaab's finances, potential arms embargo violations, and the charcoal ban.

The committee has already shared a preliminary report on the illegal smuggling of weapons and charcoal to various stakeholders, key among them the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia [UNSOM], the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Transition Mission in Somalia [ATMIS], and European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
During the briefing, Abukar Dahir Osman, the Permanent Representative of Somalia to the UN, called for the complete lifting of the arms embargo imposed on his government. He warned against the growing disconnect between the sanctions regime and the evolving situation on the ground, especially in the fight against al-Shabaab.

The ambassador said sanctions should target those who threaten peace and stability and most correspond to the government's general strategy in degrading al-Shabaab murderous Moslems. Somalia is currently battling with al-Shabaab turbans on all fronts, forcing the US to donate 61 tonnes of weapons and ammunition on Tuesday.

Locals and international actors are linked to al-Shabaab's smuggling of weapons from war-torn Yemen, with the group said to be spending close to $24 million of its monthly budget for the same purpose. The United States has pledged to help the country effectively block al-Shabaab's sources of revenue.

America donates weapons to Somalia for Al-Shabaab war
[Garowe] A cache of weapons and ammunition arrived in Somalia on Tuesday, just hours after the US expressed optimism that Somalia is on the right track in the fight against al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
, noting that Washington will continue to support efforts to eliminate the bad boys.

State Department had revealed that it is using up to $80 million annually to train, equi , fee,d and fuel the Danab Special Forces, a contingent of the Somali National Army [SNA] which is known for operations against al-Shabaab. The elite forces, the US said, are also entitled to $300 monthly allowance.

The US embassy in Mogadishu confirmed the delivery of weapons to the country while noting that the donation was brought in by two US Air Force C-17s which landed at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu. The two planes were received by top Somali an , US government officials.

"The United States supports Somalia in the fight to liberate its people fromAl-Shabaab’ss terrorist violence. SNA Force Danab received 61 tons of weapons and ammunition today off two U.S. Air Force C-17s, " the embassy said in a brief statementonfthe Twitter handle.

At the airport to receive the weapons am ammunition were the Chief of Defense Forces Odowaa Yusuf Rageh and outspoken Defense Minister Abdikadir Mohammed Nur, a close ally of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. The two hailed the US for generosity while thanking them for "true" security partnership.

"Earlier today I joined Charge d’Affaires Trenkle and Gen Odowaa to review the weapons and ammunition received from United States Government . This support demonstrates the commitment of USG in supporting the Somali Government’s intent of eradicating al-Shabaab," Nur said in a tweet.

"The weapons and ammunition received today from our US partners will be used in the ongoing fight against al-Shabaab ’Khawarij’ the continued support from partners remains crucial to win this fight against al-Shabaab, " he added while announcing that the group has lost significant territories in the last seven months.

The US Africa Command had been withdrawn from Somalia in 2021 but the troops were reinstated last year upon request by the US Senate, Pentagon and local politicians who reported al-Shabaab resurgence. There are close to 500 US Africa Command soldiers in Somalia today.

Elsewhere, the Somali government reported that ten Death Eaters were killed in a new operation by Somali intelligence and international partners in Buurweyn, 23km west of Jalalaqsi, Hiran region on Tuesday at around4 pmm. The government named individuals targeted and reportedly killed; says casualties still being assessed.

The al-Shabaab Death Eaters have been fighting to topple the fragile UN-backed federal government of Somalia but resistance and resilience by the security forces has proved it cumbersome for the group. According to a UN report, there are close to 7,000 active al-Shabaab fighters who make up to $130 million annually through extortion.

Lawyers vowed to continue fighting for compensation to Rahimov in torture case
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The decision of the Moscow court, which recognized as legal the refusal to pay compensation for torture to the natives of Dagestan Murad and Firuddin Ragimov, will be appealed despite the low chances of obtaining payments, a lawyer for the Team Against Torture said.

As the "Caucasian Knot" reported," their relative told about the brutal beating and torture of Murad Ragimov and his father Firuddin by security forces. In January 2017, it became known that forensic experts found signs of torture on the body of Firuddin Ragimov, and in February 2017, human rights activists stated that the Sledkom refused to investigate the torture of his father and son of the Rahimovs.

PA’s Abbas said to tell forces to resist IDF troops, settlers who enter ‘our lands’
[IsraelTimes] Senior PLO member Azzam al-Ahmad says Paleostinian troops told not to hesitate, emphasizes importance of ’national resistance’

Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
has instructed PA security forces to confront Israeli troops and settlers if they enter Paleostinian-controlled areas of the West Bank, a senior PA official said on Tuesday.

"President Abbas instructed the security services to confront the occupation forces and settlers," Azzam al-Ahmad, a member of the executive leadership of the Fatah party and the Paleostine Liberation Organization told the Paleostinian Satellite Channel. "We stress the importance of the national resistance," he added.

"If they enter our lands, don’t hesitate to confront them," al-Ahmad said, apparently referring to Abbas’s instructions regarding Area A of the West Bank.

"The best example is what is going on in Nablus [where battles between IDF soldiers and Paleostinian button men have taken place in the northern West Bank city], and even in Huwara," the site of a violent mostly peaceful Death Eater settler riot, he said.

"Not long ago, they [PA security forces] fought with them [Israeli soldiers] in Huwara," he claimed, without giving details.

The Israeli security establishment has long hailed coordination with PA forces as critical for combating terror and maintaining stability in the West Bank. Abbas recently cut ties following a deadly Israeli military raid in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank that killed nine Paleostinians, including at least one civilian.

At a summit in the Jordanian port city of Aqaba on Sunday, Israeli and Paleostinian officials agreed to take steps to resume coordination.

Russia warns Israel about “dangerous consequences” if attacks on Syria continue
[HODHODYEMENNEWS] First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
, Dmitry Polyansky, on Tuesday called on the Zionist enemy entity to stop armed provocations against Syria, as this may lead to dangerous consequences for the entire region.

The "Novosti" agency quoted Polyansky as saying: "On February 19, the Zionist air force bombed Syria, and several targets were attacked in Damascus and its suburbs, and one of the missiles fell in a densely populated residential building."

He added, "As a result, five people were killed and 15 others were maimed.. One of the shrapnel from the Zionist missile, which was intercepted by the Syrian air defense, fell 300 meters from the Russian embassy in Damascus."

Polyansky strongly condemned the arbitrary measures taken by the Zionist entity, which constitute a flagrant violation of international law.

He concluded by saying: "Moscow proceeds from the fact that the continuation of such practices is completely unacceptable, especially when many countries of the world, including Russia, help the Syrians to overcome the consequences of the earthquake."

Iran president acts over mystery schoolgirl poisonings
[AlAhram] Iran's president stepped in after more than 100 students were hospitalised Wednesday, the latest in a spate of poisonings at girls' schools that has gripped the country.

The president's website said Ebrahim Raisi had assigned Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi to provide "continuous information on the results of the investigation" into the attacks.

Hundreds of cases of respiratory distress have been reported in the past three months among schoolgirls in what one government official said could be an attempt to force the closure of girls' schools in the Islamic republic.

At least 10 girls' schools were targeted in the latest suspected attacks on Wednesday, seven in the northwestern city of Ardabil and three in the capital, media reports said.

The incidents in Ardabil forced the hospitalisation of 108 students, all of whom were in stable, pH balanced condition, said Tasnim news agency, which also reported poisonings at three schools in Tehran.

Citing parents, Fars news agency said students at one high school in the capital's western neighbourhood of Tehransar had been exposed to a toxic spray. It did not elaborate.

President Raisi's website said he had appointed Vahidi in an effort to "allay the concerns of the families" of the students affected.

Vahidi held a presser at which he debunked earlier reports from Fars on Wednesday that security forces had detained three people in the first reported arrests over the wave of suspected poisonings.

"There are various reports that are completely false," he told journalists, also saying that reports of the detection of a specific chemical substance being used in attacks were incorrect.

Parliament's website had said health ministry tests on a substance found at the schools in the holy city of Qom, where 800 students were affected, had detected traces of nitrogen, which is mainly used in fertilisers.

Since the outbreak of the mysterious poisonings in November, almost 1,200 students have required hospital treatment for breathing difficulties, a politician said Wednesday.

Apart from Qom south of Tehran, 400 were affected in the western city of Borujerd, said Zahra Sheikhi, spokesperson for parliament's health committee.

The poisonings have provoked a wave of anger across the country, with critics denouncing official silence in the face of the growing number of schools reportedly being targeted.

On Sunday the deputy health minister, Younes Panahi, said some people had been poisoned in Qom with the aim of shutting down education for girls.

Activists have compared those responsible for the attacks on schools to the Taliban

carried out 24 attacks on northeastern Syria in February, which killed four civilians and injured three others.

The Ottoman Turkish attacks come at a time when the UN is calling for an immediate ceasefire in Syria to facilitate the delivery of aid to all quake-victims in the region.

The SDF Media Center announced that Turkey launched 24 attacks with heavy weapons, in addition to two attacks against civilians.

The center also documented 348 flights of Ottoman Turkish drones. 27 times Ottoman Turkish warplanes penetrated Syrian airspace, according to the SDF.

The Media Center accused Ottoman Turkish intelligence of being involved in the detonation of an bomb in a civilian car in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo, and another in the city of Hasakah.

Coalition renews commitment to support partners in anti-ISIS mission
[NPASyria] On Wednesday, Major General Matthew McFarlane, the commanding general of the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, said they were ready to stand up to any threats that could prevent sustaining a lasting defeat on the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS).

That came in a blurb published by the US State Department in which McFarlane alongside his Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Dana Stroul shed light on the recent development in February and partnership with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

"One of the critical aspects of our approach is that in Iraq, we are not here to fight on behalf of Iraq; we are here in a non-combat role to provide the necessary support and resources, advising, assisting, and enabling the Iraqi Security Forces to take the lead in the fight against ISIS. This approach has proven successful, and we are confident it will continue to be effective," McFarlane said.

Both emphasized the aim of inflicting a lasting defeat upon ISIS, and to continue working in partnership with Iraqi Forces, the Kurdish Peshmergha forces and the SDF.

Responding to a question on the Ottoman Turkish threats of carrying out a potential military operation into northeast Syria, Stroul said, "I want to underscore the numerous statements and engagements you’ve seen from across the U.S. administration — both National Security Council, State Department, Department of Defense — warning of our grave and serious concerns about the prospects of a Ottoman Turkish ground incursion into northeast Syria and raising concerns about the continued air operations."

"It does not change our concern that continued Ottoman Turkish military operations or a ground incursion into northern Syria would detract from what is a shared global commitment and concern about ISIS," she said.

Replying to a question on how could an enduring defeat be incurred on ISIS, Stroul noted that "even though ISIS no longer holds territory, it still has the ideology to inspire and recruit members to its ranks, and it has the will to reconstitute, which is why we are committed to strategic patience and supporting our partners to ensure that this terrorist army cannot reconstitute and terrorize the people and citizens of Iraq and Syria or, indeed, the rest of the Middle East."

Replying to a question posed on ISIS families held in the region that could take advantage of the current situation in the aftermath of the quake that hit south The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
and north Syria, McFarlane said, "We continue to monitor the situation very closely, and specifically track any possible threats that seek advantage from such a tragic situation."

"We are tracking no damage to SDF-controlled facilities right now minus some minor cracks that we continue to monitor, but no structural damage that puts any of the facilities at risk. We continue to monitor both the threats and potential threats to detention facilities very closely with the SDF as they continue to guard the ISIS prisoners across northeast Syria," the commander added.

"Our efforts through our advise, assist, and enable mission have been successful in continuing to weaken and degrade ISIS. Our coalition forces and partners are willing and effective, but we recognize there is still work to be done. We remain committed to our partners in the region in pursing the enduring defeat of ISIS," Stroul indicated.
