For information: Parwan capital’s name changed from Charikar to Imam Azam
[ArianaNews] Local officials in central Parwan province have changed the name of the scenic provincial capital from Charikar to Imam Azam.

Imam Azam (The Great Imam) refers to Imam Abu Hanifa, who was a Moslem theologian and jurist who became the eponymous founder of the Hanafi school of Sunni jurisprudence.

Local officials said that good names will have positive effects on the behavior of people.

"A good name will have positive effect on the people and the city. A name should have academic, cultural, religious or political importance," said Obaidullah Amin Zada, the governor of Parwan province.

Other officials said that Imam Abu Hanifa hails from Charikar city, and naming the city after him is a source of pride.

"Imam Abu Hanifa belongs to our city... it (naming the city after him) is the biggest source of pride," said Mohammad Idrees Anwari, deputy governor of Parwan.

More than 700K Afghans Returned from Pakistan, Iran in 10 Months: UN
[ToloNews] The United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
Population Fund in Afghanistan (UNFPA) said that more than 700,000 Afghan refugees have returned to the country from the neighboring countries of Pakistain and Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
between January and October this year.

"Because they make up 67% of Afghanistan’s population, youth are the most affected by the crisis," UNFAP said on Twitter.

"The United Nations Population Fund works with them and supports facilities such as the new Multi-Purpose Youth Centers in Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
, Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
, Kandahar and Balkh to help address their needs during the crisis."

Afghans who have returned or were deported from Iran, expressed concerns over their uncertain future.

"I have gone to Iran five times. They wouldn’t give you food or water.‌They beat us very badly, the scars are still visible on my body," said Mohammad Alam, an Afghan deportee.

"We call on the government to provide work opportunities for the people," said Hashmatullah, a deportee.

"I was deported myself and then was returned to Nimroz. I didn't have any money and I asked my uncle for it," said Rohullah, a deportee.

Last week, a delegation of the Islamic Emirate, led by the deputy minister of Refugees and Repatriation Abdul Rahman Rashid, visited Iran to attend a quadrilateral meeting on the situation of the Afghan refugees.

The meeting was also attended by the representatives from Iran, Pakistain and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

#1  They went looking for a better place than Afghanistan. Iran and Pakistan were not better. It sucks to be landlocked and trapped in the trailer park of nations.

Female Entrepreneur in Herat Provides Jobs for Women
[ToloNews] An Afghan female entrepreneur has set up a manufacturing center in Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
where at least 100 women are working to support their families.

The women are producing jam, pickles and tomatoes sauce at the factory.

Girls who were barred from getting an education or unattended women make up a large part of the staff.

"Many of them (women) are breadwinners for their families, they need to work, the salary they earn provides food for their families," said Nafas Gul Jami, the owner of the factory.

"We are happy to work here, we financially assist our family, and it also benefits us spiritually," said Zarifa Rahmani, a woman working at the factory.

"We are seven in our family, my husband is not able to work, I am very happy working here with women and earning to support my family," said Toba Karimi, a woman.

Nafas Gul won the Bebe Khadija prize from the Afghanistan Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industries in the western part of the country.

"Miss Nafas Gul won the statue of Bebe Khadija (a prize) that is given yearly by the Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the west zone. It will be given with $1500," said Nargis Hashimi, head of the chamber.

The officials at the chamber further said that small businesses owned by female entrepreneurs are flourishing and more than 300 women and girls have restarted businesses.

The products of the factory led by Nafas Gul Jami are shipped to various provinces including Kabul, Kandahar, Ghazni and Balkh.

Arabia
Tihama Brigades threaten violent retaliation against UAE-backed troops in Taiz
by Emad Almarshahi

[HODHODYEMENNEWS] The Saudi-funded organisation known as the “Tihama Brigades” have on Thursday vowed to storm the UAE-funded Republican Guard camps led by Tariq Afash in Mocha city, in the west of Taiz province.

The Tihama Resistance and the Tihama Movement demanded, in a statement Thursday, the immediate release of leader of the Tihama Movement and director of the transportation office in the city of Mocha, Rafiq Doma, after he was kidnapped from his office Wednesday and taken to a secret prison in the city.

The statement threatened with military escalation against the forces of Tariq Afash on the western coast, stressing that the Tihama Brigades would not accept what it described as “continuous insults” by the forces of Tariq Afash.

The Brigades vowed to kidnap officers and commanders of the Republican Guard in retaliation, if they refuse to release Doma.

Over 9,700 leftover mines and explosive ordnances removed across Yemen since beginning of war
by Emad Almarshahi

[HODHODYEMENNEWS] The Executive Center for Mine Action destroyed more than 9,700 military of remnants of the US-backed Saudi-led aggression coalition that were discovered and collected by field teams operating in Hodeidah.

The destruction included mines and warheads from the remnants of the US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries that were discovered in areas south of Hodeidah during the past months.

The Director of Monitoring and Follow-up at the Executive Centre, Abdulghani al-Dailami, explained that the destruction process included cluster bombs and mines that contaminated the outskirts of Hodeidah city and the southern districts, indicating that the center is carrying out its humanitarian duty with the minimum available capabilities.

For his part, the media official at the center, Abdullah Sha’eb, called on international and humanitarian organizations to support the center in bringing in the necessary devices and equipment to carry out its duty to clear the areas contaminated with the remnants of the aggression from mines, cluster bombs and other explosives.

#1  Technically the mines aren’t leftovers until there is lasting peace. I know that idea probably is confusing in Yemen. To illustrate: you aren’t eating Thanksgiving leftovers until they have been in the refrigerator. Doesn’t matter if you have moved from the dining room to was a game on television.

Britain
UK to Investigate Unlawful Activities of British Troops in Afghanistan
The UK Defense Ministry has a poor record of standing up for its troops where accusations might well be false.
[ToloNews] The UK Defense Ministry announced that it has established an independent statutory inquiry to investigate and report on allegations of wrongdoing by the British Armed Forces in relation to their conduct of deliberate detention operations in Afghanistan.

The inquiry will investigate alleged activity during the period mid-2010 to mid-2013, according to the UK Defense Ministry’s statement.

The UK forces were mainly stationed in southern provinces of Afghanistan over the past 20 years of the US-led NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure....
presence in the country.

"The Secretary of State for Defense has commissioned an independent statutory inquiry under the 2005 Inquiries Act to investigate and report on alleged unlawful activity by

British Armed Forces during deliberate detention operations in Afghanistan," said Andrew Murrison, Minister for Defense, People and Veterans.

Mohammad Baran, a resident of southern Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
province, said that he lost four of his brothers in an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
conducted by the UK troops.

Baran called on the UK government to hold the perpetrators accountable.

"They were martyred on the avenue by drone. Two of them were young and another two were kids. Whenever I remember them, I feel traumatized," Baran said.

Bibi Amina, who is from Nawa district of Helmand, said that she lost her three sons in a UK forces operation.

"It has been more than 14 years. If I had not lost my small children, they would work now," she said.

The Islamic Emirate said that various types of crimes have been committed by foreign troops over the past 20 years in Afghanistan.

"They have killed and harassed innocent people in various parts. We call for their rights. I don't know how honest this announcement would be to identify the criminals and prosecute them," said Zabiullah Mujahid, Islamic Emirate’s front man.

"It is very important that those Afghans who have suffered over the past 20 years be paid with their rights," said Sayed Akbar Sial Wardak, a political analyst.

Reports of several organizations accused the UK troops of committing war crimes in Afghanistan.

India-Pakistan
Not just Manipal – Muslim students across India are deluged by hate in their classrooms
Seeing the mote in India’s eye while ignoring the beam in Pakistan’s.
[Dawn] Moslems students say they face hate inside the classroom, both from peers and, even more troublingly, from teachers.

Last week when the video of a Moslem student confronting his teacher at Manipal University in Karnataka went viral, it triggered an unpleasant memory in the mind of 21-year-old Humza Siddique.

In the video, which sparked a massive uproar on social media, a young engineering student berates his teacher, telling him that it was not funny to crack jokes about his religious identity. The teacher had compared his Moslem student to Ajmal Kasab, the Pak terrorist who had attacked Mumbai in 2008.
