"And this is my other brother, Mohammed." Names are a problem if you are building a handy Database of Miscreants and you want a tickle whenever your favorites shows up in the news. Pattern matching gets out of control pretty quick given the various spellings and transliterations. Named Entity Recognition (NER) is a two dollar word for the whole mess. I'm wondering how some of the new AI models that do NER would fair against an army of Mohamads...
