A military official, who wished to remain anonymous, stated to Sudan Tribune, "The airstrikes conducted by military aircraft in the city of Nyala yesterday, Friday, successfully destroyed a shipment of supplies delivered by the UAE to the Rapid Support Forces, which included drones, a significant amount of ammunition, advanced missile launchers, and sophisticated communication systems."
He vehemently denied that the airstrikes were deliberately aimed at civilian populations in the city, which is currently under the complete control of the RSF.
An Emirati aircraft (C-130 Hercules) reportedly delivered military supplies to the RSF at the Yara airstrip, located north of Nyala. A video of the military transport aircraft landing on the makeshift runway has surfaced, but the exact date of the event remains unclear.

[SUDANTRIBUNE] In a troubling development, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have controlled al-Jazira State for two weeks, have imposed a condition on villagers: join their ranks in exchange for protection.
Since invading the state on December 18, the RSF have deployed dozens of outposts throughout Wad Madani and nearby towns. Their presence has been marked by widespread theft, looting, and serious violations against civilians. Hundreds of cars, agricultural machinery, and other valuables have been stolen. Also, the RSF have even seized tens of tons of humanitarian aid.
In some villages, residents have been forced to negotiate with the RSF in the hopes of securing protection from banditry. In other towns, the RSF have engaged in large-scale invasions, committing acts of violence against civilians.
Residents in three unnamed towns, who wished to remain anonymous out of fear of reprisals, described their failed attempt ...Curses! Foiled again!... s to negotiate with RSF officers. They were told that the only way to ensure their villages remained untouched was to hand over 1,000 young men from the area to join the RSF ranks.
The RSF’s heavy-handed tactics have also extended to the Haj Abdallah area, where they have imposed a tight siege, cutting off vital services like water, electricity, and communication. Hundreds of civilians remain trapped in these dire conditions, with no access to basic necessities.

The arrests were made in the cities of Duisburg, Herne and Nörvenich, near Duren, he added.

Cologne police said they were deploying around 1,000 officers on New Year's Eve to ensure the festivities pass off peacefully. Previously, authorities have warned that officers could carry submachine guns around the city on Sunday night.
The underground car park at Cologne Cathedral was searched Sunday and nothing was found, they said.
Despite the tensions, the Cathedral held its New Year's Eve service on Sunday night as normal.

[NY Post] Israel will ease its maritime blockade of Gaza for the first time since 2007 by allowing relief ships to get to the war-torn Palestinian region through a third country, Cyprus, Israeli officials said Sunday.
The Jewish state, bowing to mounting international pressure over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as Israel continues its war against Hamas terrorists, said the move could occur instantaneously.
"It can start immediately," Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen told 103 FM radio in Tel Aviv, adding that Israel won’t allow the aid to go directly through its ports but will retain control over what is shipped to Gaza.
"That’s the goal of the process," he said.
Israel’s naval blockade was put in place 16 years ago when Hamas took control of the Palestinian enclave in the Gaza Strip.
Supplies have trickled into Gaza during the current conflict, largely from Egypt.
The new maritime supplies would be received in the port of Larnaca in Cyprus, where Israeli agents would inspect the goods, which would then be shipped to the Gaza coast.
England, France, Greece and the Netherlands have been among the countries pushing the Jewish state to allow supplies to reach Palestinians in crisis during Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip, with the United Nations also demanding aid to the region.

Israeli Air Force fighter jets pounded Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon on Sunday morning, the military said.
