[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A teenage boy has died days after he was horrifically beaten by a huge gang of bullies near a Las Vegas high school.
The attack happened on November 1 near Rancho High School, when 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis was pummeled by around fifteen other youths.
He is said to have been targeted after standing-up for a smaller friend who'd just been robbed by the mob, according to a GoFundMe page set up by his family.
Speaking to 8NewsNow, Mr. Lewis said his son usually kept to himself and had planned to move to Austin, Texas to be with his father.
The teen was living with his mother in Las Vegas at the time of his death.
In the aftermath of the teen's death, video circulated on social media showing the moment a fight broke out. It shows a group of about a dozen youths kicking the 17-year-old as he lies curled on the pavement. At least two teens stand nearby, filming the attack on their cellphones.
No arrests have been made, but Lewis claims an investigator assured the family that authorities plan to charge several students involved in that fight with murder.

[FoxNews] A CVS store in Washington, D.C., isn't making toilet paper available on shelves, and customers are now forced to ask an employee to get the product from the store's backroom.
The CVS store on H Street NE in the nation's capital took the measure because homeless people were stealing toilet paper, sources told WTOP news.
Pictures obtained by FOX Business show framed pictures of paper towels and toilet paper not readily available on the store shelves.
To get the product, customers are asked to press a customer service button for assistance.
On a year-to-date basis, reports of robbery are up by 68% in 2023 vs. 2022. Just over 3,000 robberies have taken place so far in 2023, versus 1,791 at this point in 2022, Metropolitan Police Department data shows.
Reports show 2,046 robberies occurred in 2021.
Ben Atanga, owner of a wellness studio in Maryland, told the outlet that it's a nationwide issue.
"First, I want to say this: this is not just an H street or a D.C. problem — this is something that’s going on all over the country, right?" Atanga said. "The economy is going up, cost of living is going up … If people are stealing … items, necessities, you know, I think maybe we should take a look at that.

Sounds like either the city or the state was using the underpass as a storage area for pallets which, or course, are made of wood. Put all that flammable material next to a homeless encampment and you have a recipe for disaster. Well, that's California for you, that's Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass. The TV last night showed a Newsom press conference in which he claimed to be taking the problem very seriously. Too bad he didn't take it seriously before the fire started.

According to the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine's Transporation Research Board, LA's freeway system was rebuilt in a record time of one year after the Northridge earthquake in 1994. Republican Pete Wilson, one of my all time favorite politicians, was governor at the time. The TRB reports that 75% of the damage from that quake was repaired in six months. Let's see how long it takes Newsom and Buttigeig to fix I-10.

I might add that the damage done by the Northridge quake was far more extensive than the damage done by the pallet fire. Numerous freeways and bridges were closed by the earthquake.

[NYP] Arizona resident Jacob Chansley, the Jan. 6, 2021 rioter dubbed the "QAnon Shaman" whose image was ubiquitous on televisions as he wore face paint with animal fur and horns, plans to run for Congress in 2024.
The 35-year-old filed a statement of interest last Thursday, which, according to the Associated Press, indicates Chansley wants to run as a Libertarian in next year’s election for the 8th Congressional District seat in Arizona.
Rep. Debbie Lesko, R-Ariz., announced in October that she will not seek re-election to her seat, which the 64-year-old woman was first elected to in 2018.
Her term will officially end in January 2025.
Chansley, 35, is widely recognizable as the shirtless and face-painted man who, according to one federal judge, became the "very image" of the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Numerous pictures and videos from the riot show Chansley carrying an American flag through the Capitol building as a mob of then-President Trump’s supporters engaged in violent confrontations with police outside.

"This child had received three doses of Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) as per routine immunisation, two shots of intravenous polio vaccine (IPV) while the child has also received OPV doses on more than seven occasions," the official claimed citing the initial investigation of the case.
He maintained that genetic sequencing of the isolated virus was under way but no travel history of the child had emerged. He added that an intensive investigation had been launched to ascertain the circumstances that led to a resurgence of the poliovirus in Karachi.
It is worth mentioning here that most of the polio cases in Karachi have been reported from the same UC-4 Gujro, Gadap Town, which has been a hub of Afghan nationals who regularly travel to their native areas in Afghanistan from there.
The UC is also known for its refusal of polio vaccination during anti-polio campaigns.
On Thursday, it was reported that Type-1 Wild Poliovirus (WPV1) was detected in nine environmental samples that were collected in October. Four of those samples were collected from Karachi, two from Chaman and one each from Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistain's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire... , Kohat and Nowshera.
According to officials, the total number of polio cases in Pakistain in 2023 has reached five while the new detections have taken the total number of positive environmental (sewage) samples in the country in 2023 to 64.

But I will say, as an adult convert to Christianity who searched for quite a while, when you are searching for Christ, you really don't know what or Who you're searching for. But God is merciful and faithful, and He will bring her home.

[BLAZE] In a possible medical breakthrough, researchers say they have discovered a kill switch that triggers the death of cancer cells.
Researchers at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center believe they have identified a protein on a receptor that can "program" cancer cells to die.
The press release from UC Davis states: "CD95 receptors, also known as Fas, are called death receptors. These protein receptors reside on cell membranes. When activated, they release a signal that causes the cells to self-destruct."
The Daily Mail reported that CAR T-cell therapy "involves collecting and making changes to a cancer patient's T cells, which are responsible for fighting off infection and disease but can struggle to spot cancer cells."

Thank you for your kindness! I beat melanoma 45 years ago, and I'm now being cared for by the most amazing group of medical professionals at MGH. The test, imagery, and chemo adjuncts these days are astonishing compared to my previous experience.
I walked away from RCHOP in Dallas when I found my 'diffuse large B cell lymphoma' was a zombie white blood cell disease affecting multiple organs.
"What are you going to cut out?" I asked.
"Uhm, well the tumors."
"You told me the disease was at 'stage 4' with tumors in lungs, liver, intestines and various lymph nodes. How are you going to get all of that without leaving me disabled and unsightly(very important)?"
"Yeah, we might save some lung and just resect the bowel. We'll only take one lobe of your liver. We gotta get that one in your throat, or give you a trach. Here is the surgery schedule."
"What are you going to irradiate?" I asked.
"Well, the tumors."
"Aren't the tumors a result of the disease rather than the cause?"
"Let's talk about your payment schedule."
Two weeks later I was 305 miles away at MD Anderson in Houston.
No radiation, no cutting. Chemo 1 week, commute, recover at home two weeks, rinse&repeat. 4 months. It wasn't pretty. At night I shambled two miles up and down the hospital corridors dragging my infusion pump and christmas tree. No morphine, no demerol. I had some attitude. They had puke buckets in the hallways. I lived on soda crackers, gatorade and popsicles.
Killed the tumors and the bone marrow creating the zombie WBCs. They rebuilt the marrow with my own stem cells in month 5.
The guts are scarred, the lungs still have cavities from the tumors, the liver is a marvelous healing organ. After two weeks of treatment the lymph nodes returned to normal.
