Jewish leaders slam UPenn for hosting anti-Israel activists during High Holidays
Not that the timing particularly matters. But do note the extremely weak rejection of the event by UPenn’s senior management of the event the university they’re in charge of hosting.
[IsraelTimes] Paleostine Writes Literature Festival features lineup including Roger Waters, speakers who have called for Israel’s destruction and compared Jewish state to Nazi Germany.

Jewish groups have slammed the University of Pennsylvania for hosting a festival featuring speakers who have been harshly critical of Israel, drawing accusations of antisemitism, during the Jewish High Holiday period.

The Paleostine Writes Literature Festival will take place on the university campus, starting on September 22 and ending two days later on the eve of Yom Kippur. The event is being sponsored and hosted by UPenn’s Wolf Humanities Center.

The festival says it is "dedicated to celebrating and promoting cultural productions of Paleostinian writers and artists."

One of its most prominent speakers is Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters, a well-known pro-Paleostinian activist who has been repeatedly accused of antisemitism.

Commentator Marc Lamont Hill, another participant, was fired by CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
in 2018 for using the term "from the river to the sea," a call used by the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, terror group to advocate for Israel’s destruction.

Also appearing is Rutgers professor Noura Erakat, who opposes Israel’s existence and has compared Zionism to Nazism; author Randa Abdel-Fattah, who called Israel a "demonic, sick project" and supports its destruction; writer Wisam Rafeedie, who earlier this year praised the 1972 Lod airport massacre, which killed 26 people; and Susan Abulhawa, who has called Israel a "Nazi state" that will "someday be demolished."

Its sponsors include the New York group al-Awda, which calls for Israel’s destruction, has expressed support for terrorists, calls the Jewish state a "genocidal settler-colonial" entity and urges the expulsion of "Zionists" from New York colleges.

UPenn sought to distance itself from the event, saying in a statement that it was "not organized by the university."

"We unequivocally — and emphatically — condemn antisemitism as antithetical to our institutional values," said a statement from the univeristy’s president, provost, and dean of the school of arts an sciences.

Waters has been repeatedly accused of antisemitism by Jewish groups and authorities in the US, Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and Israel.

He has floated an inflatable pig emblazoned with the Star of David at his concerts, berated performers who included the Jewish state in their tours, accused the "Jewish lobby" of holding sway over the music industry, compared Israel to Nazi Germany, and appeared onstage in a costume resembling Nazi attire.

The US State Department in June accused Waters of "Holocaust distortion" and having "a long track record of using antisemitic tropes." The Anti-Defamation League has also said Waters employs antisemitic rhetoric.

Hill, a BDS supporter, has complained that Israel’s Iron Dome defense system hampers Hamas’s "military leverage" over Israel, lauded Paleostinian terrorists, suggested mainstream media outlets are "Zionist organizations," placed sole blame for Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
violence on Israel, and defended his ties to the antisemitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

Hill’s hiring last month by the City University of New York as it grapples with allegations of widespread antisemitism on its campuses was heavily criticized by Jewish groups and their supporters.

The ADL said in a report last week that anti-Israel activities on US college campuses nearly doubled to 665 incidents in the 2022-2023 school year, including many instances in which Israel was condemned or students who support Israel were harassed.

UPenn is a private ivy league university in Philadelphia with around 23,000 students.

Not suddenly at all. The ADL has been objecting to Mr. Waters since before they were lost to institutional capture — so for the same number of decades. Though I must admit that your mockery of the kind of idiot who choses the right to hate Jews as the free speech hill he wants to die on is absolutely spot on. Well done!

#6  It would puzzle me that supporters of Palestinian culture always seem to harp on killing all the Jooooos if I didn’t know that the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement is a paid department in the PLO, started because the formal wars against Israel and the first Intifada were all such embarrassing failures at driving out the Jews. But it turns out that many in the academic world and entertainment are weak-minded enough to fall for the idea of genocide as the answer to the world’s problems — it’s their only win, poor dears, while Israel is stronger than ever, not to mention having more allies than when BDS started.

Defiance Amid Darkness: Secret Schools Illuminate Afghan Girls’ Path To Education
[EurasiaReview] In the aftermath of the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
’s return to power in Afghanistan in August 2021, a dark cloud of educational restrictions descended upon the nation, particularly affecting its maiden of tender yearss. Formal secondary education for girls was abruptly banned, extinguishing their dreams of learning and aspiring for a brighter future. Amid this adversity, a group of courageous educators and students in Kabul has defied the oppressive regime, running secret schools in a clandestine effort to keep the flame of education alive.

In the heart of Kabul, a teacher known only as "R" has embarked on a daring mission to provide education to girls who were forcibly denied access to schools by the Taliban. Initially, her school had just ten students, but today, she instructs over 60 girls, ranging in age, alongside their mothers, in a concealed educational oasis.

Africa Horn
Al-Shabaab bag man fires warning at US, threatens dire revenge
[Garowe] A senior al-Shabaab
...... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
leader has warned the United States following a recent Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in remote parts of Somalia, in a rare footage shared by the group's al-Kataib wing which is responsible for the dissemination of news, which has triggered anxiety among security officers in the country.

In the footage, Mahad Karate, accused the US of being a stumbling block in the stabilization of the country, claiming that the US Africa Command has been "unfairly" targeting civilians in the country.

Karate claims al-Shabaab will Dire Revenge against the US following an incident in El-Lahelay on September 6th, where an operation by Somali special forces that killed three al-Shabaab commanders also resulted in the death of five civilians including four children.

"We will avenge the death of our people, however long it takes. You have the watches, we have the time,"
...so clever...
Karate said in a recorded video speech published by the group on Friday, a rare footage from the group's high-ranking member in recent times.

Recently, the US Africa Command dismissed claims that it participated in the airstrike, insisting that it only offered "remote" support to the Somali National Army [SNA] which was directly responsible for the operation. The operation left a number of people injured and were rushed to Mogadishu for specialized treatment, US Africa Command noted.

In the same speech, Karate also claimed al-Shabaab attacks on Cowsweyne [Aug 26] and Awdhegle [Sept 10] "destroyed the military, ideological and economic warfare" launched against the group. The Cawsweyne attack remains the most devastating assault on Somali soldiers and to date, the government has yet to disclose the number of casualties.

So injurious was the attack that a number of soldiers started retreating from different frontlines, forcing the military to take action against some of them. The government of Somalia under President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has been pleading with locals to join aggression against the turbans.

Karate, who has a $10 bounty
...presumably that’s meant to say $10 million...
on his head by the US, spent most of the work with al-Shabaab in running the intelligence and Amniyat wings of the group. He is from Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
State where the ongoing Somali government military operation is focusing, with the government keen to dislodge them.

Insiders say he desperately wanted to become the leader of the group but those who analyzed him think he divides opinions within al-Shabaab ranks, which may have contributed to him missing out on being appointed last time, in September 2014, when former leader Ahmed Abdi Godane was killed in US airstrike.
*Snicker*
Karate used to be a mysterious figure who doesn’t appear publicly but in recent years he increasingly opted to show his face and talk on camera. He has also been coordinating the group's Finance department, which raises up to $120 million annually according to records by the State Department.

Al-Burhan visits to Uganda for talks with Museveni
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the Chairman of the Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese Sovereign Council, embarked on an official visit to Uganda on Saturday morning.

Departing from Port Sudan International Airport, al-Burhan received a farewell from Mohammed al-Ghali Ali Youssif, the Secretary-General of the Sovereign Council, and several ministers.

During his sixth trip since last August, he would hold talks with President Yoweri Museveni
...President-for-Life of Uganda. He assumed office in 1985. His primary virtue is being prefereable to both his predecessors, Idi Amin and Milton Obote...
about enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries, exploring avenues for their strengthening, and addressing matters of mutual interests, stated the Council.

The two leaders are expected to discuss the Sudanese position from the IGAD mediation group.

Sudan rejects the chairmanship of Kenyan President William Ruto of the IGAD Quartet Group casting doubts about his neutrality in the conflict with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Al-Burhan is accompanied by Foreign Minister, Ali al-Sadiq, and the Director of the General Intelligence Service Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.

Last July, Museveni received a delegation from the Forces for Freedom and Change to discuss ways to end the five-months conflict in Sudan.

RSF leader threatens to form separate government in Sudan
[SUDANTRIBUNE] In a bold threat issued on Thursday, the commander of Sudan
......
’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, "Hemetti," warned that if the army commander forms a cabinet centred in Port Sudan, he would declare another government with Khartoum as its capital.

In recent weeks, al-Burhan, having left the headquarters of the General Command of the Armed Forces in Khartoum, established his base of operations in Port Sudan, the capital of the Red Sea State. This move has also prompted many federal government institutions to conduct their affairs from this coastal city.

Some media reported that the army, along with political factions aligned with it, plans to establish an emergency government centred in Port Sudan. However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money...
this proposal has been met with resistance from political groups opposed to the ongoing conflict, who advocate for the formation of a civilian transitional government.

In a recording shared on Twitter, Hemetti stated, "We have shown great patience with al-Burhan’s unilateral decisions, despite their illegitimacy. We will not permit anyone to represent Sudan and claim legitimacy. Should this situation persist or remnants attempt to form a government in Port Sudan, we will promptly initiate extensive consultations to establish a legitimate authority in areas under our control, with Khartoum as its capital. We will not tolerate the creation of an alternative seat of power."

Hemetti emphasized that the foremost priority should be the cessation of hostilities and the reunification of Sudan, rather than the establishment of a war-centric government in Port Sudan.

The RSF Commander asserted that the conflict that erupted on April 15 was initiated by members of former President al-Bashir’s party to obstruct the path to political and democratic transition. He added, "Al-Burhan has harboured long-standing ambitions to become a dictator-president, and he conspired with these remnants."

He further said that al-Burhan and his allies expected they could swiftly defeat the RSF. He asserted that the paramilitary forces now control a significant portion of Khartoum State and extensive parts of the country.

Hemetti acknowledged that al-Burhan and members of the dissolved National Congress Party (NCP) exert influence over eastern Sudan and regions in the north. Nevertheless, he asserted, "These territories are within our reach should we desire it. We could be in Port Sudan today."

"After their failure to defeat the RSF and al-Burhan’s ambition to rule, even if over a portion of Sudan, they have congregated in Port Sudan. This includes NCP leaders and individuals evading justice, all claiming to represent a legitimate authority. al-Burhan embarks on foreign tours, asserting himself as the head of state despite lacking legitimacy, with the aim of forming a government in a part of Sudan. Despite our control over most of Sudan, we refrain from declaring a government. We seek no authority and remain dedicated to preserving Sudan’s unity," he said.

#1  Fascinating chutzpah. Hemetti is detrmined to split Darfur south and central, and Kordofan south from Khartoum. The fact that he could make Khartoum the capital of his state is absurd. He can occupy the city, but in the end he cannot control it. Nor should he want to.

Macron accuses ruling military in Niger of holding ambassador ''hostage''
[AFRICANEWS] President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday that La Belle France's envoy to Niger is living like a hostage in the French embassy and accused military rulers of blocking food deliveries to the mission.**The ambassador is living off "military rations", Macron told news hounds in the eastern town of Semur-en-Auxois.

"As we speak, we have an ambassador and diplomatic staff who are literally being held hostage in the French embassy," he said.

"They are preventing food deliveries," he said, in an apparent reference to Niger's new military rulers. "He is eating military rations."

Niger's military leaders told French ambassador Sylvain Itte he had to leave the country after they overthrew President Mohammed Bazoum on July 26.

But a 48-hour ultimatum for him to leave, issued in August, passed with him still in place as the French government refused to comply, or to recognise the military regime as legitimate. The coup has been condemned by La Belle France and most of Niger's neighbours.

Macron said the envoy "cannot go out, he is persona non grata and he is being refused food". Asked whether La Belle France would consider bringing him home, Macron said: "I will do whatever we agree with President Bazoum because he is the legitimate authority and I speak with him every day."

La Belle France keeps about 1,500 soldiers in Niger, and said earlier this month that any redeployment could only be negotiated with Bazoum.

The country's new leaders have torn up military cooperation agreements with La Belle France and asked the troops to leave quickly. Macron has for weeks rejected the call to remove the French ambassador, a stance backed by the EU which has described the demand as "a provocation".

Like La Belle France, said EU foreign affairs spokeswoman Nabila Massrali last month, the EU "does not recognise" the authorities that seized power in Niger.

Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger establish an alliance of Sahel states
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] For collective security, the leaders of the countries of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger are creating a Sahel union. The president of the transition period of Mali, Colonel Assimi Goita, announced this on the social network X.
That’ll do the trick.
He clarified that he signed the Liptako-Gourma Charter with the heads of Burkina Faso and Niger, which established the Alliance of Sahel States. The main goal of the alliance is collective security and mutual assistance.
Since none of them can secure it on their own, surely together they’ll be able to pool their disabilities to greater effect.
As Regnum reported , the Niger Armed Forces have switched to maximum readiness mode. This order was given to the country's army by the head of the defense staff, Moussa Salau Barmu . He explained that the decision was made to adequately respond to possible aggression against Niger.

The ECOWAS delegation left Niger on August 20 after negotiations with the rebels failed.

The rebels who came to power in Niger will allow military forces from Mali and Burkina Faso to operate in the country in the event of a foreign invasion.

India-Pakistan
India to soon open controversial Ram Mandir built on historic Babri Masjid site
[GEO.TV] The initial phase of the Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya, a northern town in India, is set to conclude in December and will be open to devotees in January, an Indian official said on Wednesday.

The site where the temple is being constructed was the subject of a contentious dispute between Hindus and Moslems for many years.

Hindus claim the site as the birthplace of Lord Ram and consider it sacred, with historical significance preceding the construction of the Babri mosque by Moslem Mughals in 1528. In 1992, a Hindu mob destroyed the mosque, leading to widespread riots across India in which approximately 2,000 people bit the dust, primarily Moslems.

India's Supreme Court awarded the site to Hindus in 2019, paving the way for the construction of a Hindu temple, a plan long supported by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling Hindu-nationalist party.

Modi has been invited to take part in the prayers at the opening ceremony, Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, told news hounds.

"The ground floor (of the temple) will be completed in December 2023 and once it is completed and once the lord has moved to the sanctum sanctorum ...we have to permit devotees to come and pray," Misra said.

THE DISPUTE
The demolition of the centuries-old Babri mosque by a Hindu mob in the Indian holy town of Ayodhya in late 1992 sparked deadly religious riots around the country, killing about 2,000 people.

Here are key facts about the disputed site, sourced from court and government documents.

The Hindu epic scripture Ramayana mentions Ayodhya, located in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh nearly 700 km (435 miles) from New Delhi, as the birthplace of the Hindu god-king Ram. He is believed to be a physical incarnation of Lord Vishnu, one of the principal deities of Hinduism.

In 1528, a mosque was constructed in Ayodhya under India’s first Mughal ruler, Babur. Many Hindus believe it was built on the exact birthspot of Lord Ram, where there is some evidence that a Hindu temple had once stood.

In December 1949, some Hindu activists placed idols of Ram inside the disputed structure, leading to the mosque’s seizure by authorities. Court orders restrained people from removing the idols, and the structure’s use as a mosque effectively ceased from that point.

Hindu and Moslem groups filed separate claims over the site and the structure. In 1989, the Allahabad High Court ordered the maintenance of the status quo.

...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...

...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, implying that the country is thinking about ending its bid to join the 27-nation bloc.

"The EU is making efforts to sever ties with Turkey," he told news hounds before departing for the 78th U.N. General Assembly in New York.

"We will evaluate the situation, and if needed we will part ways with the EU."

He was responding to a question about a recent report adopted by the European Parliament, which stated "the accession process cannot resume under the current circumstances, and calls on EU to explore ’a parallel and realistic framework’ for EU-Turkiye relations."

Turkey applied to join the European Union in 1999, and accession talks began in 2005. Accession negotiations were frozen in 2018 because of "democratic backsliding," according to the European Parliament.

Erdogan's statement on Saturday came more than a week after Turkey's foreign minister affirmed his country’s resolve to join the EU and urged the bloc to take courageous steps to advance its bid.

(ISIS), the search continues for the dead who lie under piles of rubble on the western bank of the city that bore the brunt of nine months of destructive war.

Search and rescue teams say they find seven to eight bodies every week.

Two weeks ago, the bones of eleven individuals were discovered close to Lays Hisham's house in Mosul’s old city.

"The better they search, the more dead bodies they find. Two weeks ago, they found 11 dead bodies in this place, just close to my house. There are plenty of odors here including the odor of dead bodies, the clothing, and many other things," Hisham said.

It was in Iraq’s northern city of Mosul that ISIS’ now dead leader declared their so-called caliphate in 2014. Ousting the snuffies from the narrow, winding alleys of the old city was a house-to-house battle and when victory was declared in July 2017, much of the centuries-old buildings were in ruins.

Since 2017, a total of 6,044 bodies have been recovered. Of them, 3,749 have been identified. The remaining 2,295 unidentified includes 800 children.

The city buries the unknown bodies if they are not claimed by family within two months.

"Following measures and inspections being carried out for the dead bodies, we will place the dead bodies in refrigerators at the Mosul morgue for a legal timeframe of 60 days. Upon instruction from the court, we will bury them in coordination with the Mosul municipality," Shahd Arif, head of the Mosul forensic department, told Rudaw.

Despite the smell of death that haunts parts of the city, health authorities have not registered any diseases as a result of the bodies lying under the rubble.

Iraq steps up repatriations from IS camp in Syria, hoping to reduce militant threats
[AnNahar] Iraq is stepping up repatriation of its citizens from a camp in northeastern Syria housing tens of thousands of people, mostly wives and children of Islamic State

fighters but also supporters of the turban group. It's a move that Baghdad hopes will reduce cross-border turban threats and eventually lead to shutting down the facility.

After U.S.-backed and Kurdish-led fighters defeated the Islamic State group in Syria in March 2019 — ending its self-proclaimed Islamic "caliphate" that had ruled over a large swath of territory straddling Iraq and Syria — thousands of IS fighters and their families were taken to the camp known as al-Hol. Many of them were Iraqi nationals. Today, Iraqi officials see the facility, close to the Iraq-Syria border, as a major threat to their country's security, a hotbed of the turbans' radical ideology and a place where thousands of children have been growing up into future turbans.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran becomes 3rd top oil producer among OPEC members
[PakObserver] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
continued to increase its oil production in August to reach three million barrels per day (bpd) and stand at the third place among OPEC top producers, according to figures released in the organization’s latest monthly report.

OPEC data showed that Iran’s oil output increased by 143,000 bpd or five percent in August compared to production figures reported in July, Shana reported.

The figures showed that Iran had regained its position as the third largest oil producer in OPEC in August behind Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and Iraq.

Iran posted the largest increase in oil production in OPEC last month, as the country is exempt from output cuts introduced by the alliance to help boost international oil prices.

Iranian heavy oil prices rose to $87.58 per barrel in August from $81.48 reported in July, OPEC data showed.

The figures prove earlier reports suggesting Iranian oil production and exports had reached multi-year record levels in August despite U.S. sanctions that restrict the country’s ability to engage in normal trade of oil products.

Estimates by international energy firms published earlier this month had suggested that Iran’s oil exports were nearly 3.15 million bpd in August as oil exports from the country reached over 2 million bpd.

Private refiners in China accounted for a bulk of oil purchases from Iran last month as shipments rose to an all-time record of 1.5 million bpd.

Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Oji said earlier this month that Iran’s oil production will reach 3.4 million bpd by late September.

#1  Looking at it in a different Geo-Political way.
IRAN cranks up its production. Which eases the strains placed on other sources to produce enough to feed their world area.

Now if only the LSD controlled Biden Admin would halt the exports of about 9.5+ million barrels per day (b/d). Then it could halt the stupidity of importing about 8.32 million b/d of Crude Oil as it Exports.

Either way the DC swamp needs get out of playing Oil Rationing Police and RE-Open drilling areas that were previously supplying US with more than enough needed Oil and NG, prior to the LAD Coup of 2020. Where we were had gas at $2.09 to $2.49 a gallon between 2016 to 2020.

In ‘unprecedented’ move, Iran bars 1/3 of UN inspectors from accessing nuclear sites
[IsraelTimes] IAEA chief slams ’profoundly regrettable’ Iranian decision, warns it will harm agency’s capacity to monitor nuclear program; Tehran claims ’political’ use of watchdog by West

has barred around a third of the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency’s most experienced inspectors from overseeing nuclear sites in the country, the UN watchdog group said Saturday. The IAEA’s chief slammed the move as unprecedented and said it would complicate inspection of Iran’s nuclear program.
