He went on to say the Taliban wants good relations with the world and stressed that Afghanistan has fulfilled its obligations to the international community. The comments came during his Eid al-Adha message to the country. Based on the draconian gender policies the de facto regime is clinging to, international criticism is a certainty in the coming days.

TTP COMMANDER REPORTEDLY KILLED IN KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA ON SUNDAY – Pakistani counter-terrorism units, acting on fresh intelligence delivered on Saturday, ambushed the TTP Commander, Zafar Khan and two of his senior advisors in an operation on Sunday morning. Khan had reportedly moved across the border from Nangarhar, Afghanistan on or around 22 May. His activities were tracked by Pakistan’s intelligence services who were waiting for Khan to stop in a location for a few days which would give operatives time to raid his safe house. The action took place in the Dara Adam Khel region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and sources said the operation started late on Saturday night but the fighting took place just after midnight local time on Sunday. Zafar was a wanted terrorist who had operated freely in Afghanistan for some time. He was considered to be a warlord who profited off of several kidnapping/ransom schemes and often chose to extort local coal mining operations. The two advisors who were killed with Khan are Hasan Khan and ‘Anas’ (aka Ali and an Afghan citizen). Both advisors had been implicated in several terrorist attacks in both Pakistan and Afghanistan.
TOP COMMANDER OF BALOCHISTAN LIBERATION FRONT (BLF) REPORTEDLY KILLED IN ‘NEIGHBORING COUNTRY’ – Nawaz Ali Rind, the leader of the BLF was reportedly killed in an internal power dispute in an unidentified neighboring country on either Saturday or Sunday. Rind has led the group since 2014 but was reportedly being challenged by underlings about strategies the BLF had pursued in 2022. The BLF was thought to be a founding member of the BRAS organization which is a confederation of Balochistan separatist organizations. Pakistani security forces have scored a number of successes against members of BRAS after arresting the Baloch National Army leader, Gulzar Imam Shambay in April 2023. Shambay apparently had a change of heart after his arrest and repented publicly for his participation in several terrorist attacks. It is believed that Shambay’s cooperation has been responsible for many of the counter-terrorism successes in Pakistan’s restive Province.

According to the news release, the foreign national was rescued through a joint operation conducted by the security forces and the Taliban’s intelligence unit in provincial district nine of Kabul city.
Prior to this, several similar criminal incidents took place in Kabul and other provinces resulting in the death of engineers and business people.
This increased number of kidnapping individuals is worrying for the people — therefore calling on security forces to initiate decisive actions to prevent such criminal incidents in the heart of Kabul.

Former employees of the institution and relatives of Hamidullah Bahlol have written on their Facebook page that he was killed two days ago (Sunday, June 18) in Kabul.
Bahlol had recently traveled to Germany during the evacuation process, and it is alleged that the Taliban forced him to return to the country by taking his son hostage.
Hamidullah’s son has also confirmed the murder of his father.
So far, the Taliban have not commented on the matter.

According to the sources, on the night of Wednesday, June 21, two armed individuals affiliated with the Taliban were detained by the local residents in the Qatas area of Firozkoh city while attempting to sexually assault two girls.
The sources state that these two Taliban members are residents of the Ghelmin area in Firozkoh city, the center of Ghor, and they had traveled to the Qatas area with the intention of committing sexual assault.
The fighters have been identified by the sources as Khodadad and Hassan.
The local residents handed over the two individuals to the intelligence headquarters of the Taliban group in Ghor, according to the sources.
The Taliban have not issued any statements regarding this incident in Ghor.
It is worth mentioning that in May, the son of a Taliban commander was killed by gunfire after attempting to sexually assault a maiden of tender years.

In the latest case, the group has detained three former soldiers from the village of Piawesht in the Rokhah district of Panjshir province.

Sadly, this incident follows another violent mostly peaceful episode that occurred on the night of Tuesday, June 20th, when an unidentified gunman opened fire in Mirzaolang village, situated in the Sayyad district of Sar-e Pul Province.
The merciless killing of innocent civilians by Taliban fighters has regrettably become an all-too-familiar occurrence. Such acts of violence have been previously perpetrated under various pretexts by the Taliban, posing a grave threat to the lives and security of the country’s citizens.

According to the sources, the prosecutor, identified as Zakaria, was apprehended on Tuesday, June 20th, by Taliban intelligence forces at his residence in the village of Khoshkak, Sheikh Ali district.
Zakaria had previously served as a military prosecutor in the army of the former government, stationed in Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... The motive behind the arrest of this esteemed military official remains unknown at this time.
The Taliban have refrained from commenting on the matter, leaving many questions unanswered.
It is important to note that ever since assuming power, the Taliban have detained and imprisoned numerous civilian and military prosecutors who served in the previous government, across various regions of the country. Tragically, some of them have even fallen victim to acts of murder.
Human rights organizations have repeatedly accused the Taliban of gross violations of human rights One man's rights are another man's existential threat. and pointed out their vengeful actions against former government officials.
[8am] According to local sources in Parwan province, the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... have been publicly humiliating and punishing several youths in the Bagram district for trimming and shortening their beards.
On Thursday, 22 June, residents of Bagram district have sent consistent messages to Hasht-e Subh, stating that the Taliban’s virtue promotion and vice prevention personnel have been patrolling the district’s roads for the past month, taking action against individuals who have violated their rules.
One resident from Bagram district said, "The Taliban’s virtue enforcement personnel have been punishing young people on the roads for the past month, questioning why they have trimmed or shaved their beards."
The source added, "As a result of these issues, the youth in Bagram district are either migrating or discreetly moving around in the Bagram market."
The Taliban have not yet commented on the matter.
The Taliban’s restrictions on the social lives of people, including the closure of schools and universities for girls beyond the sixth grade, have consistently received criticism from international institutions. However, a clean conscience makes a soft pillow... these criticisms have not led to any changes in the group’s policies.
Previously, the Taliban had also subjected young people in various provinces of the country to humiliation and punishment for trimming or shaving their beards and hair.
[8am] Local sources in Takhar province have reported a fierce conflict between residents of Khaja Bahauddin district and a group of nomads in the region.
According to reliable sources cited by Hasht-e Subh, the confrontation erupted on Tuesday, June 20, resulting in an injury to one nomad.
These sources reveal that a group of nomads infiltrated the village of Naw-Abad-e Sajani in Khaja Bahauddin district, posing a grave threat to around 300 families and their cherished homes, leaving them under immense pressure to evacuate.
Furthermore, it has come to light that these residents were formerly inhabitants of the Migrant Qushlaq village but recently resettled in Nowabad-e Sajani, driven by aspirations for a better life.
Disturbingly, the sources claim that those who dare to resist the nomads are unjustly apprehended on charges of affiliations with ISIS and the Resistance® Front.
Regrettably, festivities between nomads and settled residents have become a recurring issue.

[8am] In a shocking incident, a man in Samangan province was shot by a local Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... commander for criticizing the group’s performance.
Local sources confirm that a resident of Roy-e Duab district, following his attempt to lodge a complaint regarding harassment and intimidation by local Taliban commanders to the group’s Interior Minister, was apprehended and subsequently shot on the orders of Qari Muawiya on Tuesday, June 13.
The victim, identified as a farmer, had no prior military background, as stated by the sources.
So far, the Taliban have not commented on the matter.
It is worth mentioning that last week, Sirajuddin Haqqani ...son of Pashtun warlord Jalaluddin Haqqani, still titular head of the Haqqani Network.... , the Minister of Interior Affairs for the Taliban, visited several provinces during his trip to the northern region of the country.
This is not the first instance of non-combatants being targeted by the Taliban in Samangan due to criticism of the group’s actions. Previously, Abdullah, a resident of Dar-e-Suf Payin district in this province, was shot after filing a complaint against the mistreatment of individuals by a local Taliban commander in the district.
The Taliban have previously warned that no one has the right to criticize the group’s operations.
[AlAhram] Artillery fire, air strikes and shootouts rocked Sudan's capital on Saturday, witnesses told AFP, as the UN urged a stop to "wanton killings" that have left decomposing bodies in Darfur.

Reports and videos from El-Geneina showed Arab elements insulting women and kiddies fleeing on foot to Chad and violent mostly peacefully looting their belongings.
In a statement on Saturday, the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said that interviews with Sudanese refugees who have fled El-Geneina, into Adré in Chad confirmed horrifying accounts of armed the RSF- backed militia killing people fleeing El Geneina.
"Our UN Human Rights officers have heard multiple, corroborating accounts that "Arab" militia are primarily targeting male adults from the Masalit community," said OHCHR spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani.
Shamdasani added that the interviewed reported witnessing lifeless bodies strewn along the road, accompanied by the putrid smell of decay. Numerous witnesses described encountering dozens of corpses in an area known as Shukri, approximately 10km away from the border, where it is believed that one or more Arab militias maintain a base.
"The High Commissioner for Human Rights calls on the RSF leadership to immediately, unequivocally condemn and stop the killing of people fleeing El-Geneina, and other violence and hate speech against them on the basis of their ethnicity."

The Phile News website said the plot was thwarted by Cypriot intelligence services, in cooperation with other foreign agencies, said to be from Israel and the US.
The report said that the attackers were using the northern part of the island as a staging post for the potential attack and that Cypriot intelligence services had closely followed the cell for a number of months.
An unnamed official told the outlet that the foiling of the plot showed that Cyprus would not allow its own territorial conflict to create a "security hole" through which attacks can be carried out.
There was no immediate confirmation from Israeli officials.

[Dawn] The Federal Investigation Agency arrested on Sunday eight suspects from across the country allegedly involved in smuggling the victims of the Greece boat tragedy.
Last week, an Italia-bound fishing trawler reportedly carrying at least 800 people — including approximately 300 Paks — capsized off Greece. Only 104 people are known to have survived and the chance of finding more survivors was seen as virtually nil.
The incident led to a day of mourning along with a nationwide crackdown initiated by the government on human smugglers.
On Friday, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said 82 deceased Pak victims had been recovered while amendments to laws were under consideration to ensure that those involved in human trafficking and employing illicit means to send people abroad would face appropriate punishment.
