Even if the Harris county or Houston tried to prosecute the one that killed the robber, a jury will vote not guilty. it's WHY even in Houston/Harris County they rarely even try. It frustrates the hell out of them but if they try to hard they WILL get voted out.

If the place sells enough booze the gun might be illegal in the establishment. That could explain why the place was targeted as well as why the shooter moved on quickly.
Also the video freezes before the shot, the line is drawn. Is that really when he shot? or just the last visible frame?
[FoxNews] One Chicago school administrator took a student to a play and took her on trips to Las Vegas, Los Angeles and abroad, the report said.
Hundreds of Chicago teachers and school officials sexually groomed and assaulted students last school year, according to a report released this week.
The Chicago Public Schools Office of the Inspector General released its annual report Sunday, saying it substantiated more than 300 misconduct allegations out of more than 600 complaints for the 2021-22 school year.
An OIG investigation concluded one teacher groomed and sexually assaulted a 17-year-old student three times. That teacher was charged with multiple counts of sexual assault. After a November 2022 trial, the teacher was acquitted on all counts, the report said, despite evidence provided by the student and social media records.
Another investigation revealed a former JROTC staff member had sex with a high school girl over the course of a year when she was 16 to 17 years old, the report said. The girl was also given alcohol and marijuana and purchased marijuana for him, the OIG said.
The pair also exchanged hundreds of text messages and calls.
"I’m ready to f--- right now … I’m not gonna be gentle either," one message read, the report said.
When the staff member became aware he might be under investigation, he allegedly threatened to kill the girl and her family. He was arrested and eventually sentenced to time served and four years probation after pleading guilty to sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse.
One high school teacher allegedly exchanged 4,000 text messages with a female student, including 400 in one day. The teacher said he was in an open marriage and was "attracted to other people."
Other incidents included a high school gym teacher exposing himself to a female student.
One charter school administrator took a high school junior to a Broadway play in downtown Chicago when he touched her leg during the performance, the report said. After the show, while driving the student home, he "slid his hand down inside of the front of the student’s pants and touched his genitals."
The administrator also took the student on trips to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, London, Ibiza and the Bahamas, the OIG said. The administrator resigned after the OIG recommended he be terminated.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Mary Fergus, executive director of media relations for the school district said education officials support the "work to investigate all issues of misconduct among our 40,000 team members."
"As a District, we take seriously our responsibility to serve our families with integrity and to address individuals who breach CPS policies and the public’s trust and hold them accountable," she said. "CPS will continue to ensure our District policies and procedures support the highest ethical standards to ensure our valued team members act in the best interest of our students."
She noted that the district has taken action against those engaged in wrongdoing.

A 6-year-old student, whose mother didn’t want her daughter’s name used, said she witnessed the shooting, which happened about 2 p.m. The girl told a Daily Press reporter that one of her first-grade classmates shot their teacher “on purpose.”
The teacher was shot in the stomach and fell to her knees, the girl said.

[FoxNews] No injuries were reported in the NM shootings.
The homes or offices of four elected officials in the Albuquerque area have been damaged by gunshots in a 30-day span, police said Thursday.
Nobody was injured in the shootings and police are trying to determine if the incidents were related. All four politicians are Democrats.
How odd.
Evidence has been collected from all of the scenes and federal authorities are helping with the investigation, which Police Chief Harold Medina called a top priority.
According to police, someone shot eight rounds at the southeast Albuquerque home of Bernalillo County Commissioner Adriann Barboa on Dec. 4.
Seven days later, police said more than a dozen gunshot impacts were identified on walls at the house of then-Bernalillo Commissioner Debbie O’Malley in Albuquerque’s North Valley.
At least eight shots were fired at the exterior of the southwest Albuquerque home of New Mexico Sen. Linda Lopez after midnight Tuesday, according to police.
Authorities also said the office of state Sen. Moe Maestas was struck by gunfire Thursday morning.
"It is traumatizing to have several bullets shot directly through my front door when my family and I were getting ready to celebrate Christmas," Barboa, who has been a county commissioner since January 2021, told Albuquerque TV station KRQE. "No one deserves threatening and dangerous attacks like this."
O’Malley, who left her position as commissioner after serving a maximum of two terms, said in an email that she and her husband were asleep before the gunfire struck the adobe wall surrounding their home.
"To say I am angry about this attack on my home—on my family, is the least of it," O’Malley said in an email. "I remember thinking how grateful I was that my grandchildren were not spending the night, and that those bullets did not go through my house."
Lopez, who has been a state senator since 1997, said three of the bullets shot at her home passed through her 10-year-old daughter’s bedroom.
"I am asking the public to provide any information they may have that will assist the police in bringing about the arrest of the perpetrators," Lopez said in a statement.
Details of the damage done to Maestas’ office wasn’t immediately available Thursday.
Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller called the shootings disturbing and said they are serious crimes regardless of whether anyone was injured.

[HOT AIR] It has been just over a month since China dropped its zero COVID approach to the pandemic. Since then the disease has spread rapidly in China’s cities and there is lots of evidence that many people have died (hospitals, funeral parlors and crematoriums in Beijing have been overwhelmed) but very few of those deaths get reported in the official COVID death toll.
Today the NY Times reports there’s reason to think the situation is going to get worse as the disease is now moving into rural areas where there are no real hospitals or treatment available for anyone who gets sick.
The infections in Dadi Village, a corn farming community tucked between verdant hills in China’s remote southwest, started in early December when a handful of young people returned from jobs in big cities.
The nearest hospital was an hour away, and few could afford the $7 bus fare there. The village clinic is not equipped with oxygen tanks or even an oximeter to detect if someone’s blood is dangerously deprived of oxygen. It quickly ran out of its stockpile of five boxes of fever medicine, so officials told sick residents to stay home and drink lots of water...
China is bracing for an onslaught of infections in its fragile countryside as millions of migrant workers crowd onto trains and buses to leave factory towns, construction sites and cities, to return to their rural homes for the Lunar New Year holiday. The travel period, which begins Saturday and lasts 40 days, is expected to overwhelm the rural health care system only weeks after hospitals in wealthy cities like Beijing and Shanghai were buckled by the outbreak.
"What we are most worried about is that after three years, everyone ... can finally go home for the new year to visit relatives," Jiao Yahui, an official with China’s National Health Commission, told state media.
Of course the omicron variant often results in no symptoms or mild symptoms but the rural health clinics can’t even keep up with demand for medicines to help with fever. The real problem will be for the, mostly older, people who get a serious enough infection that they need a bed or a ventilator. There are no ventilators in rural clinics and the ones in regional hospitals are limited.
The problem China has is threefold. First, because zero COVID was in place for years most people have no natural resistance at all. Second, Chinese vaccines were very much second rate and won’t be as effective as US vaccines at keeping susceptible people from becoming seriously ill. Third, because zero COVID was dropped all at once, everyone is essentially going to get sick at the same time. Given the population of China, a lot of people will get seriously ill (even if it’s a small percentage of the total) and there won’t be enough room in hospitals for all of them.

Seems the run-up to the 2024 elections started early.
But I also have to wonder if the CCP, by halting sequestering in place, might be trying to prove (or say) it works and should be adopted by all nations.

Just what can Chinese hospitals actually do (even if they exist and are equipped) to help severe COVID-19 cases? Maybe the old-time public health dictum (prior to the "Science") of "Let them all catch the bug, and let God sort them out" will soon be tested in the PRC.
[IsraelTimes] Personal emails linked to 235 million Twitter accounts hacked some time ago have been exposed according to Israeli security researcher Alon Gal — making millions vulnerable to having their accounts compromised or identities exposed if they have used the site anonymously to criticize oppressive governments, for instance.
Gal, who is the co-founder and chief technology officer at cybersecurity firm Hudson Rock, wrote in a LinkedIn post this week that the leak "will unfortunately lead to a lot of hacking, targeted phishing, and doxxing." LinkedIn was also hacked. I had to change all my passwords and dropped LinkedIn
While account passwords were not leaked, malicious hackers could use the email addresses to try to reset people’s passwords, or guess them if they are commonly used or reused with other accounts. That’s especially a risk if if the accounts are not protected by two-factor authentication, which adds a second layer of security to password-protected accounts by having users enter an auto-generated code to log in.
People who use Twitter anonymously should have a Twitter-dedicated email address that does not disclose who they are and is used solely for Twitter, experts say.
Though the hack appears to have taken place before Elon Musk took over Twitter, the news of the leaked emails adds another headache for the billionaire, whose first couple months as head of Twitter have been chaotic, to say the least.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a message for comment on the hack.
News of the breach could put the company in trouble with the Federal Trade Commission. The the Socialist paradise of San Francisco ...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964... company signed a consent agreement with the agency in 2011 that required it to address serious data-security lapses.
Twitter paid a $150 million penalty last May, several months before Musk’s takeover, for violating the consent order. An updated version established new procedures requiring the company to implement an enhanced privacy-protection program as well as beefing up information security.
In November, a group of Democratic politicians asked federal regulators to investigate any possible violations by the platform of consumer-protection laws or of its data-security commitments.
The FTC said at the time it is "tracking recent developments at Twitter with deep concern," though no formal investigation has been announced. But experts and current and former Twitter employees have been warning of serious security risks flowing from the drastically reduced staff and deepening disorder within the company.
In August, Twitter’s former head of security filed a whistleblower complaint alleging that the company misled regulators about its poor cybersecurity defenses and its negligence in attempting to root out fake accounts that spread disinformation.
Among Peiter Zatko’s most serious accusations is that Twitter violated the terms of the 2011 FTC settlement by falsely claiming that it had put stronger measures in place to protect the security and privacy of its users.

Given the months between the purchase announcement by Musk and then the lay-off of a massive amount of useless Tech Nerds. Too many of which had deep remote access.
The Twit ITSEC group should have anticipated and take steps to prevent data thefts, hacks and closed backdoors.
[Red State] A community on Chicago’s south side is protesting the city’s decision to plant a "migrant shelter" at an abandoned school there.
The community of Woodlawn is majority black, and residents are saying their community is already overwhelmed with issues ranging from crime to being flooded with illegal drugs. In particular, Little Village, which is a largely Mexican community.

About Naval Strike Missile (NSM)
The Naval Strike Missile is a long-range, precision strike weapon that seeks and destroys enemy ships at distances greater than 100 nautical miles. It uses Inertial, GPS and terrain-reference navigation and imaging infrared homing (with a target database aboard the missile).
The NSM is a very flexible system, which can be launched from a variety of platforms against a variety of targets on sea and land.
The airframe design and the high thrust-to-weight ratio give the NSM extremely good maneuverability. The missile is completely passive and has proven its excellent sea-skimming capabilities and with its advanced terminal maneuvers, it will survive the enemy air defenses. The Autonomous Target Recognition (ATR) of the seeker ensures that the correct target is detected, recognized, and hit, at sea or on land.
The NSM is a fifth-generation anti-ship missile, produced by Kongsberg and managed in the U.S. by Raytheon. NSM reached Initial Operational Capability on the Norwegian Fridtjof Nansen-class frigates and the Norwegian Skjold Class corvettes in 2012.
The Netherlands became the 11th and latest customer of the Naval Strike Missile in December 2022, joining the navies of Norway, Poland, Malaysia, Germany, United States (for both the US Navy and USMC), Romania, Canada, Australia, Spain and the UK.

Re #1: MCCAIN DID NOT CAUSE THE USS FORRESTAL DISASTER!
Yes, he was on board the Forrestal, but he was sitting in his plane getting ready for a mission. A missile was set off, that ran across the deck and set fires.
I have seen a video of the disaster. Part of the video shows McCain climbing out of his plane, over the nose to escape.
I have had my problems with McCain, but to say he caused the disaster is slander.
