[NYPOST] Chilling video captures the moment a group of criminals armed with makeshift machine guns opens fire on a crowd in Chicago, killing a 14-year-old boy and wounding three other people.
The four armed suspects — including at least one possibly 16 — are seen sneaking across an empty lot Wednesday night before jumping out from behind a building and firing off multiple rounds down the street, then running off, according to the surveillance footage obtained by CWB Chicago.
The barrage of gunfire killed 14-year-old Pierre Johnson and critically wounded two young men, ages 18 and 19. A 21-year-old woman also was shot in the hand.
The 18-year-old was shot in his back, while the 19-year-old suffered wounds to his chest and leg. None of those injured was identified.
Police said one of the possible gunmen, a 16-year-old boy, opened fire on cops when they responded and was taken into custody after the deadly shooting on South Wells Avenue around 8:20 p.m., the outlet said.
The teen, who has not been identified, was charged with six counts of attempted first-degree murder of peace officers, three counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm toward an occupied vehicle and unlawful use of a weapon by a person under 21, according to cops.

note that the charges against the 16 year old do not include 'illegal possession of a firearm'
I think this is because Chicago politicos decided that enforcing 'illegal possession' laws was racist as a disparate number of blacks would be charged and since illegal possession does not always end in violence, just let it go.

[WSB-TV] CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A woman was arrested after officials say she hit a ticket agent at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
According to an incident report obtained by Channel 2 Action News, at 9:40 p.m. on May 11, Atlanta police were dispatched to Concourse E-Gate 3 at the Atlanta airport after receiving reports of a woman attempting to push her way through the gates and onto the jet bridge.
When officers arrived, the Spirit Airline ticket agent told them that Tearaney Burroughs assaulted her.
According to the investigation, Burroughs hit the victim after she was denied boarding because officials believed she was intoxicated. Or just entitled and stoopid? Why not all three?
Another ticketing agent told police that he saw Burroughs punch the victim in the face.

Seems like the ticket scanner would have been better served to flop like Lebron James and called their lawyer immediately. At worst it would have been pay for the rest of the shift while they “recovered” in the break room leaving their boss to deal with the irate and drunken passenger. At best, they could have parlayed fake PTSD into a reassignment as a baggage stealer handler.

[Breitbart] Actor Barry Newman, who roared into mass public attention as star of the cult car chase movie Vanishing Point and the legal drama series Petrocelli has died. He was 92.
The Hollywood Reporter outlined Newman passed away at New York-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center on 11 May.
Boston-born Newman’s role as the anti-hero Kowalski in 1971’s action-packed Vanishing Point ensured his place in cult film folklore, with the movie, directed by Richard C. Sarafian, influencing generations of fans then and since.
Vanishing Point was shot over eight weeks and has become an admired cult classic with Steven Spielberg calling it one of his favorite movies.
His father, Carl, managed the local outpost of the nightclub The Latin Quarter. He graduated from Boston Latin School and Brandeis University, played saxophone and clarinet in the U.S. 3rd Army Band and studied acting with Lee Strasberg after walking away from the notion of becoming an anthropologist.

[CNN] Robert Philip Hanssen, who received payments of $1.4 million in cash and diamonds for the information he gave the Soviet Union and Russia, has died, the Federal Bureau of Prisons announced Monday. He was 79 years old.
Hanssen had been in custody at Colorado’s USP Florence ADMAX since July 17, 2002. Unless his cell is being readied for Brennan, Comey, or one of the Biden crime family, we're not leveraging the vacancy.
"On Monday, June 5, 2023, at approximately 6:55 am, inmate Robert Hanssen was found unresponsive at the United States Penitentiary (USP) Florence ADMAX in Florence, Colorado," a release from the Federal Bureau of Prisons said. "Responding staff immediately initiated life-saving measures. Staff requested emergency medical services (EMS) and life-saving efforts continued."
"Mr. Hanssen was subsequently pronounced deceased by EMS personnel," the release said.
In 2001, Hanssen pleaded guilty to 15 counts of espionage and conspiracy in exchange for the government not seeking the death penalty. He was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.
Investigators accused him of compromising dozens of Soviet personnel who were working for the United States, some of whom were executed. He shared details of several US technical operations such as eavesdropping, surveillance and interception of communications. And he gave the Soviets the US plans of how it would react to a Soviet nuclear attack, both in protecting top government officials and retaliating against such an attack.
Hanssen began spying for the Soviet Union in 1979, three years after he had joined the FBI as a special agent.
The counterintelligence officer worked as a spy for nearly 15 years, during some of the most consequential times for US and Russia relations and continuing past the end of the Cold War. He took a hiatus from spying for four years in the 1980s after being convinced by his wife, Bonnie.

In a letter allegedly written by Hanssen to the Russians, he said that he was inspired as a teen by the memoirs of British double agent Kim Philby.
"I decided on this course when I was 14 years old," says the letter cited in the FBI’s affidavit. "I’d read Philby’s book. Now that is insane, eh!"
The FBI began surveilling Hanssen in 2000 after he was identified from a fingerprint and from a tape recording supplied by a disgruntled Russian intelligence operative.
Back when the FBI was in the business of protecting America from its enemies...
After he was caught in 2001, Hanssen told his US interrogators, "I could have been a devastating spy, I think, but I didn’t want to be a devastating spy. I wanted to get a little money and get out of it."
Hanssen apologized for his actions during his sentencing in 2002. "I am shamed by it. Beyond its illegality, I have torn the trust of so many. Worse, I have opened the door for calumny against my totally innocent wife and our children. I hurt them deeply. I have hurt so many deeply," he said.
Hurt some of them to death. That rings of the apology of the farmer to the pigs he’s sending to slaughter.

Hanssen was apprehended in February 2001 while making a "dead drop" of classified information for his Russian intelligence contacts at a park near his northern Virginia home. He pleaded guilty that July to 13 counts of espionage, one count of attempted espionage, and one of conspiracy to commit espionage.
"The FBI trusted him with some of the most sensitive secrets of the U.S. government, and instead of upholding that trust, he abused and betrayed it," the bureau said in a history of the case on its website.

I attended a high end debrief of this case back in 2004. He was a weird dude to say the least. Opus Dei Catholic yet Hanssen offered his best friend the opportunity to watch him have sex w/his wife. No proof he banged the stripper but sure tried to woo her w/cash and jewelry. Not 100% but the briefer said the Russians didn't know his true ID until he was arrested. Hannsen's info was way more valuable than Ames as he gave up not only names but several CONUS-based active operations that the Russians in turn used against us (the words immeasurable and incalculable were used). The Feds took the death penalty off the table as Hanssen agreed to provide a full accounting of his activities. At the time, the briefer said they knew for a fact he was still lying.

Somewhere I recall reading an assessment that the prolonged isolation at the SuperMax prison had caused Hanssen to lose much of his ability to speak or comprehend speech. Such a sterile, inhuman environment seems a perfect and appropriate end to this despicable creature.
[FoxNews] Since the George Floyd protests and riots of 2020, Target Corporation said it ramped up its diversity, equity and inclusion work. This agenda extended far beyond enhancing representation and support of historically marginalized groups externally and in its stores, and dipped into funding organizations with far-left and blatantly political agendas.
Target's "accelerated" its DEI program in response to Black Lives Matter activism under the leadership of its diversity chief – Kiera Fernandez. The chief has demanded that "White women" get to work to combat the proclaimed systemic racism in America.
Fox News Digital found that Target, via its nonprofit foundation, which has been directed by the retail giant's senior corporate treasurers, funded a grantee pushing to shut down and give away U.S. sovereign land such as Mount Rushmore – believing it to be an "international symbol of White supremacy" and to demilitarize the "violent" U.S. military. The same grantee also supports the destruction of Israel's Jewish character through what is called the Palestinian "Law of Return" and implementing economic warfare tactics against the Jewish State, such as boycotts and sanctions, to "Free Palestine."
Another Target Foundation grantee said parents must teach specifically "White children" about systemic racism and to "see color." It also claimed that capitalism maintained a role in perpetuating racism.
The Target Foundation's webpage reflected that it funded the NDN Collective in 2022, a South Dakota-based nonprofit with a revenue stream that has reached as high as $50M+, according to its 2021 tax filing. NDN operates with a "racial equity lens" and is "dedicated to building Indigenous power [t]hrough organizing, activism, philanthropy, grantmaking… and narrative change."
NDN identifies as "intersectional," which is an idea coined by a critical race theorist, Kimberlé Crenshaw, holding that America is inborn with structurally racist and misogynistic systems, and they can intersect upon an individual to form numerous layers of persecution. By joining forces with other oppressed groups, NDN hopes to move towards "liberation."
The organization's campaign "LANDBACK" called for America to give up its public land.
"The closure of Mount Rushmore, return of that land and all public lands in the Black Hills, South Dakota is our cornerstone battle," NDN said. "Not only does Mount Rushmore sit in the heart of the sacred Black Hills, but it is an international symbol of White supremacy and colonization. To truly dismantle white supremacy and systems of oppression, we have to go back to the roots. Which, for us, is putting Indigenous Lands back in Indigenous hands."
LANDBACK also supports Israel giving up its Jewish character by opening the floodgates to those who identify as Palestinian refugees. After Israel gave up the Gaza Strip for peace in 2005 under pressure from the Bush administration, the former Israeli territory became what some analysts call a "missile launch pad" that is operated and controlled by the Hamas terror group.
On that note, LANDBACK also uses a phrase which has long been interpreted by some as a genocide call for the elimination of the Jewish state.
NDN said, "From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free." This rallying cry has long been used by "terrorist organizations such as Hamas, which seek Israel’s destruction through violent means," according to the Anti-Defamation League.
The organization also maintains hostile views on the military, and seeks the U.S. to be "demilitarized."
Fox News Digital asked Target how they can proclaim to support veterans in its corporate announcements, while also funding an "anti-militar[y]" organization, but did not immediately receive a response. NDN did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
"If you or your loved ones are serving or have served our country, we share our heartfelt thanks—today and always," Target said in 2020.
In addition to NDN Collective, Target also funded the YWCA Minneapolis, an organization seeking to bring "racial equity" into local policy starting in 2019.
The organization said, "Capitalism is the prevailing economic system in modern history. To understand its structure and function is to know its relationship to racism, genocide and systemic inequities."
The organization gives "anti-racist" advice to parents and local community members, stating White kids should be raised to see race in order to understand "systemic racism."
"We have to raise our children to see color; it is important that they understand that due to skin color, we are afforded different opportunities and often times our skin color impacts how we are able to move around in our society," it said.
Another grantee – the National Urban League – advocates for federal laws restricting the Second Amendment as well as "alternatives to policing."
Target said it "accelerated" an equity agenda after the 2020 uproar over the death of George Floyd. However, some of the grants were disbursed before then.
Target CEO Brian Cornell discussed Target's DEI strategy on CBS Mornings in September 2022. He said that a series of meetings on DEI in 2019 "prepared me for the murder of George Floyd."
Cornell has also stated Target's diversity strategy was good for business, according to Newsweek.
"The things we've done from a DE&I standpoint, it's adding value, it's helping us drive sales, it's building greater engagement with both our teams and our guests," he said. "And those are just the right things for our business today."
The retail giant did not respond to a request for comment, and has not responded to other queries from Fox News about its funding at least $2.1 million towards organization called GLSEN, which is pushing districts to adopt policies that would keep parents in the dark on their children's in-school gender transitions.
Target's also has a c-suite connection to GLSEN. Carlos Saavedra is a vice president of brand marketing at Target and a treasurer at GLSEN. GLSEN provides sexually explicit books to schools for free and advocates for the integration of gender ideology at all levels of curriculum in public schools, including math classes.

[The Hill] A major trial over contamination from toxic "forever chemicals" has been postponed as both manufacturer 3M and a city seeking damages say they are close to reaching a deal.
A federal trial brought by the city of Stuart, Fla., against 3M was slated to begin Monday, but it will now be postponed 21 days, according to a new order from Judge Richard Gergel.
The order comes after both sides said that they were making progress in negotiations in a joint motion and asked for a delay.
Bloomberg recently reported that 3M had reached a settlement of at least $10 billion. A spokesperson for the company declined to say whether this was true, saying "we don’t comment on rumors or speculation."
Meanwhile, DuPont, Chemours and Corteva announced on Friday that they reached a separate tentative settlement totaling nearly $1.2 billion with water providers who sued over the chemicals.
Stuart’s claims had previously been selected as the first "bellwether" case out of hundreds of claims against manufacturers of the chemicals.
Bellwether cases are seen as test cases in which both accusers and the accused can see how legal issues will play out in order to make decisions about future litigation.
The case in question pertains to cleanup costs for the chemicals, which are also known as PFAS.
PFAS, which stands for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are the name of a group of chemicals that have been linked to health issues including kidney and testicular cancer, thyroid disease and high cholesterol.
The substances can be found in a variety of products, ranging from Teflon pans to firefighting foam used by the military to waterproof apparel and cosmetics.
They have also become pervasive in both human beings and waterways. They can be found in the blood of 97 percent of Americans according to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. An analysis last year also found them in 83 percent of the waterways that it tested.
