#3 I have a relative who has TDS bad & is totally leftist. She reads a lot of internet coverage but has studiously avoided reading history (a bad combination of habits). She is extremely concerned that the USA is going fascist & is investigating what country she wants to move to. No likely candidates so far. I didn't enter into any discussion on those issues. I simply asked her if she had read about Medical Assistance in Dying - MAID. Of course, she knew nothing about the topic.

#5 I got a passport years ago with the express purpose of visiting long lost cousins in Canada. Since Canada enacted MAID, I decided not to go there.

#8 This sort of reminds me of the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The one where the cart is coming around to pick up the dead, and the one fellow says he's not dead, but he will die soon. But the cart won't be back for a week. So they hit the guy over the head so they can put him in the cart.
